Chapter 9: Crests and Hair Ribbons
by Wannabe Koushiro
A/N - I must have a whipped cream fetish or something. hehe....Lemon alert
number 3, I believe. My mind is getting even more twisted. And I finally
realized that I had yet to use Koushiro's (English) catch phrase after writing 8
chapters from his POV...hehe...baka Mizu-chan... Hey, arigato to those that have
reviewed this. I appreciate it greatly.

"Things that make my heart
ache are messages to me..."
-"Open Mind," Koushiro's 02 Theme
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had been staring at the computer screen for who knows how long. I had a little
ladybug trying to kill me, and I was trying to figure out why.
"Tai, this isn't getting me anywhere." I complained to my boyfriend as I sat
back and rubbed my eyes. "I don't think there's much difference in their
programs."
"Koushiro, there has to be something in her program that's making her target
you." Tai leaned over my shoulder to take a look, though I knew he wouldn't have
the slightest idea as to what he was looking for.
"Do you have any idea what you're looking for?" I asked him, teasing him a bit.
I knew he didn't. I didn't wait for him to answer me before I continued on.
"Besides, the only difference between Izzy's program and Tentomon's is very
minute. It's the line that determines their coloration."
"In that case, why don't you carry out your threat to turn her green?" Tai
asked.
"I think both Izzy and Nika would be mad at me for that." I answered simply.
"They're exactly the same otherwise. Well, the voice thing too, but that's
written so you can't mess with it. Too bad, I'd change her voice if I could."
"You still think that's creepy, huh?" Tai asked me. I shuddered as I thought of
how Izzy's voice sounded. No wonder Nika named her digimon after her older
brother...
"To a great extreme." I answered. "There just isn't anything I can do about it.
Other than going backwards and hope she never has to digivolve again. Have you
noticed it's only after she digivolves? Wait a minute! That's it!" I exclaimed
as I figured out the missing puzzle piece. "It's when she's a kabuterimon! An
adult level, not a rookie! We're looking at the wrong program!" I felt stupid
there for a second.
"And I thought you were a genius..." Tai teased me.
"This isn't the time for that." I said, annoyed, as I tried to find the right
program. "Argh...I need Nika here... or at least her digivice." I finally had
gotten a way to connect the D-3 to my computer. "I can get Tentomon's program
from mine, but I need Izzy's before I can figure out if there's something wrong
with it." I told him.
"Here." Tai tossed the phone at me before I could even ask him to do that.
"How'd you know?" I asked him as I dialed.
"I'm psychic." Tai said, grinning at me.
"Sure you are..." I said, rolling my eyes, as I called my little sister. My mom
finally answered the phone. "Hi, Mom." I greeted her. "Can I talk to Nika?" I
asked her.
"Don't you ever want to talk to me?" Mom asked me, disappointed. I know she
misses me living at home, but I didn't want to. I wanted to be with Tai.
Besides, with Nika now, it was getting a bit crowded at home. That, and I was
more or less told that as soon as I hit 18 to get out. It was okay though.
"Sorry, Mom. How about after I talk to Nika?" I proposed a compromise.
"Oh, alright." I think she was teasing me a bit, too. "Here's Nika." She told
me.
"Koushiro!" Nika greeted me. "What's up, bro?" She asked.
"Can I borrow your digivice?" I asked without preamble.
"What do you want that for?" She asked me.
"So I can try to figure out if Izzy is trying to kill me." I stated simply.
"You know she's not trying." Nika said, stressing the trying.
"I know, but twice is too much of a coincidence for me." I told her. "So,
anytime you could let me have it, I'd appreciate it greatly."
"Actually, I had a favor to ask you, my dear, sweet brother..." Nika began
buttering me up.
"What's that?" I asked her, sighing.
"Um...I hate telling you this, but Mom and Dad and I are going on vacation."
Nika began.
"I'm not invited?" I asked, a bit disappointed that I wasn't.
"Sorry, niisan." Nika said. "Anyway, they asked me if I could get you or someone
to watch Izzy."
"Of course I'll do it." I said. "Can I have your digivice then? It's not like I
can get her to digivolve, and frankly, I don't want her to. I finally figured
out it's only when she goes beyond her rookie stage."
"Huh." Nika just said.
"Anyway, when are you going?" I asked.
"In a couple of weeks. We're going to New York." She told me.
"Wow. Now I'm really regretting not being invited. Hey, I promised Mom I'd talk
to her some more. I'm sure she'll tell me all about it." I told Nika.
"Oh, all right." I think that Nika was a bit disappointed. It's hard trying to
make everyone happy.
Well, Mom told me more of their vacation plans and why I wasn't invited. I asked
Mom to give Mimi a call while she was there just to say 'hi' for us. I must have
been on the phone for quite a while.
"Anything new?" Tai asked jokingly after I had hung up.
"My family is going on vacation without me." I told him. "It's okay, I have to
work anyway. So, while they're gone, we get an extra bug."
"We get Izzy? And I thought I could go back to calling you that." Tai sighed.
"Darn."
I smiled. "Maybe we should keep her so you can't."
"I don't think Nika would like that idea." Tai said.
"I know she wouldn't. I was just teasing you, hon."
"I know you were." He said as he sat down next to me. "So that's really no help,
huh?" Tai asked as he pointed to the computer screen in my lap.
"Nope." I said and closed the lid. I set it off to the side. I felt Tai's arms
go around me as I did so. I leaned back into him. "I hope she's not going to try
to kill me anymore."
"You said yourself it's only when she's at a stage above rookie. And you know
she can't digivolve without Nika." I nodded. I was feeling very nervous about
having her with us for a week.
"Tentomon can keep her out of trouble, huh?" I said. I could feel Tai agree with
me.
"Him and Agumon." Tai said.
"No offense, but that's the worst idea I've heard for a while."
"Hey!" Tai said, mock upset at me. I always thought that any trouble that
Tentomon got into was caused by Agumon, and Tai knew that. He leaned forward to
kiss me on the neck. "When are you not going to blame him?" Tai asked, knowing
that he was driving me nuts.
I couldn't answer him. I just sighed at the way I was feeling. Tai knew what he
was doing. "Stop it." I told him, not really wanting him to.
"Do you really want me to?" He asked, reading my mind.
"Not really." I replied.
"Good."
Well, a few weeks had passed, and I was coming home from work. I had just opened
the door when I was attacked.
"Hello!" Izzy greeted me, flying up to me.
"Hello, yourself." I told her as I caught her. "Where's everyone else?" I asked.
She just shrugged.
"Beats me." She said.
"It's okay. Hey, Nika's coming back tomorrow morning." I told her.
"It's been a week already? Wow." I take it that digimon don't really keep track
of time too well. "I do miss Nika though. Actually, I was kind of lonely all
day." She said sadly. I smiled.
"Come on." I said as I went to get a snack. Izzy settled herself on my
shoulders. "So, you have no idea where anyone is?" I asked as I fixed something.
"I think Tai went out running. As for Tentomon and Agumon, I have no clue." She
told me. I would have shrugged if she wasn't sitting on my shoulders.
"Oh, well." I said, sitting down. Izzy flew down to the floor.
"You have me." She said. I smiled at her.
"You're right." I set my plate down and picked up my computer instead. "Well,
you can't say that you weren't taken good care of, right?" I asked her,
scratching her on the head. I don't know why, but she really likes that.
"You're just as good as Nika." I laughed.
"Hey, Nika emailed me. She misses both of us. And she says that Mom and Dad miss
us too." Nika finally had her own computer that, like I used to, she drags
everywhere. It was nice though, hearing from her while she's on vacation. "You
have anything you want to say to her?" I asked Izzy as I was writing Nika back.
"Nope, just tell her that I miss her too and I'll be glad to see her tomorrow."
She told me.
"Done. I also asked her something, and I think you'll like this. I know that
Nika is going to have a bit of jet lag, but I was thinking that we all could
spend a bit of time in the digital world when she gets back."
"I know I'd like to. I hope Nika does too." Izzy told me. I smiled. "You have
some good ideas, Koushiro." I heard the door open and close behind me.
"At least one of us usually does." I heard Tai say from behind me.
"Where've you been?" I asked him.
"Track practice, where else?" He answered me.
"This late?" I asked. It was almost 9:30.
"Last one of the season. We got a lecture on team spirit and such things." Tai
rolled his eyes at that. I laughed.
"I think you're the last person that needs to hear that." I told him.
"Why's that?" Izzy asked. Gee, she was a curious little thing.
"He's a natural leader." I explained to her. "He kept us together through a lot.
Anyway..." I trailed off. "Have you seen Agumon or Tentomon?" I asked Tai.
"No, why? They left when I did though, if that's any help." He responded.
"Not really. Why do they leave when I most want to talk to either one of them?"
I muttered.
"Because they hate you." Tai said, joking.
"That's not funny." I told him. He bent down and kissed me. "Ugh. You smell like
sweat."
"What'd you expect? Anyway, I'm heading for the shower anyway, hon." He headed
that way while I just sighed.
"You guys really love each other, huh?" Izzy asked me.
"Of course." I told her.
"Why?" She asked the big question. I grinned.
"Izzy, my dear, when you're in love, there is no such thing as why." She got a
wierd look on her very non-expressive face. I think she was a bit shocked that I
would say that. "Just trust me on this." I said through my laughter at her
reaction.
"No wonder Nika thinks you're silly." Izzy said, shaking her head. I laughed.
"I think you've been around her too much." I teased her. "Anyway, I'm going to
bed so I can get up to meet the family. You should probably do the same." I
suggested to her.
I woke up early the next morning. Surprisingly, I was pretty much alone. It made
me nervous to think of how quiet it was. I was fixing some breakfast when I saw
Tentomon stumble into the kitchen.
"Wild party last night?" I asked him quietly.
"Don't ask." He told me. I grinned.
"You guys have got to try staying home sometimes." I glanced down at him.
"Someone try to beat you up? You look a bit bruised. Anymore purple on you and I
might mistake you for Izzy." I told him.
"Like I said, don't ask." I just shook my head.
"Are you coming with us?" I asked him, changing the subject.
"I guess I have nothing better to do." He told me. I chuckled at that.
"Here, have some breakfast." I told him. I don't know what got into me, but I
actually cooked. Okay, I guess it doesn't take much talent to open a tube of
rolls and bake them, but anyway...
"What smells so good?" Izzy asked as she joined us.
"These." Tentomon told her as he passed his twin the plate.
"Thanks." She said as she poked a roll with her claw.
"Are you guys ready to go after we eat?" I asked them. As they were eating, all
I got in answer was nods. "Good. Ready to see Nika again?" I asked Izzy.
"Definitely." She answered as I heard the door open and close.
"You guys are up early." Tai commented.
"Technically, I haven't even gone to bed yet." Tentomon told him.
"We're going to go meet my family at the airport. They should be back in about
an hour, so we really need to get going." I said the last part for the benefit
of the bugs. Someone had to encourage them to eat quickly. "Are you coming too?"
I asked Tai.
"Nah. It's your family." He told me. I was a bit disappointed, but I understood
that he felt like he would be intruding on us.
"Alright. We'll see you later." I stretched up to give Tai a quick kiss. I
herded the two ladybugs out the door and grabbed a jacket as I walked out.
It seemed like we'd been waiting forever. Well, maybe just a half hour. I was
reading a book on mythology when I heard a familiar voice.
"Koushiro!? Where are you?" Nika!
"Here, Nika-chan." I raised my voice to the point where she might be able to
hear me, but not loud enough to make people stare. I stood up so she could see
me. Actually, since the dye had faded from my hair it was kind of hard not to
miss me. Nika came running up to me.
"I missed you, niisan!" She said.
"I missed you too, munchkin." I told her. "Did you have fun?" I asked her as Mom
and Dad caught up to her. I smiled at them. Nika was probably a bit of a handful
for them anymore.
"Lots. I even met your friend Mimi." Nika was telling me as we headed for home.
"Prodigious." I said.
"She's really cool." Nika commented. "Sorry, Izzy." Nika bent down to scratch
her digimon on the head. "I didn't mean to ignore you, it's just that I'm so
excited."
"And we have jet lag..." I heard Dad comment under his breath. I just hid my
mouth behind my hand and smiled. I was wondering why she was so hyper as well.
"It's okay, I understand." Izzy answered Nika at the same time.
"I take it you had a really good time, huh? So, did you bring me anything?" I
teasingly asked Nika.
"Yeah, me too!" Izzy chimed in right behind me.
"I had to." Nika said. "When we get home, okay? I don't think I have the time to
get them out right now." I nodded, understanding. Things were quiet on the way
home. Even Nika settled down to the point where she was asleep. She was leaning
against me, using me for a pillow.
"She must have been more tired than she let on." Mom said.
"Can you blame her?" I asked.
"Of course not." She answered. "I'm going to do the same thing when I get home."
"We probably all will." Dad said. I just smiled.
"Hey, Koushiro?" Izzy started.
"What?" I asked.
"Are we still going to the digiworld later?" She asked.
"If Nika feels up to it. Maybe it would be better to wait until tomorrow. Let's
let her get caught up. She thinks it's yesterday yet." I told her as we arrived
'home.' I carefully climbed out of the car so as to not wake Nika up. I then
turned back around and picked her up. "I didn't know she was so heavy." I
commented as I carried her to the door.
"I could have gotten her, Koushiro." Dad told me as he unlocked the door. "And
you probably shouldn't be carrying her around. What about..." He trailed off.
"It's okay, Dad." I told him. "I don't mind, and I'm not hurting anything. At
least, not that I know of." I took the familiar right turn just inside the door
and put Nika down on her bed. Izzy flew up to be beside her. "You're definitely
staying, right?" I teased the little bug quietly. I think she would have grinned
if she could have.
"It's good to be back with Nika." She told me. I nodded. Nika rolled over trying
to get settled. I think I heard her murmur 'Izzy-chan,' but I wasn't sure.
"I'm going to go home. I'll call tomorrow, okay." I told them. I walked out to
the living room. "Need any help with anything?" I asked my parents. They both
shook their heads. "I'm going to go home then. I might be over tomorrow though.
See ya." I walked out the door. I looked down to make sure Tentomon was with me.
I had kind of forgotten about him.
We'd been walking along in silence. I'd been thinking about a lot of things. One
of the big topics on my mind was the medical experiment I was participating in.
A few weeks ago I had been under the knife for the transplant. It took a bit of
getting used to, but it was worth it, at least for me. I knew later this week
that we were going to move on to the next phase if everything was well. It made
me excited, yet worried and nervous at the same time.
A quiet buzzing noise and a sudden weight on my shoulders brought me out of my
thoughts.
"What are you thinking about?" Tentomon asked me. I think he just wanted the
ride since he hadn't slept yet and was probably getting too tired to walk. It
was nice of him to strike up a conversation though.
"This." I said, running my hand over my stomach. "Do you think this is a good
idea?" Actually, we've had this conversation before.
"If you want it this bad to do this, then yes." Tentomon reassured me. "You've
gone too far to turn back now."
"I know." I said. "I just hope it goes alright." We finally got home.
"Home already?" Tai greeted me from the couch.
"Nice to see you too." I grinned at him. It had been quite a while since we
could just sit down and talk. Unfortunately, that wasn't what the rest of me had
in mind. I crossed the room to sit down next to him.
"Everyone come back in one piece?" He asked. I nodded absently. Just sitting
down next to him made me tingle. I felt his practiced hands on my shoulder.
"What's with you?"
"Nothing. Just...I don't know..." I still had a bit of a hard time sharing my
emotions with others, even Tai, though I was getting better. Tai leaned forward
and kissed me.
"Don't say that..." He told me.
"It's just that...I guess I'm feeling a bit nervous anymore." I told him.
"About the experiment?" Tai asked. I nodded.
"What if something goes wrong?" I wondered out loud.
"Nothing is going to go wrong." Tai tried to reassure me. "Please don't worry
about it, Koushiro. Whatever happens will happen for a reason." He told me as he
trailed light kisses on my face. I just sighed and leaned back into him. "Isn't
the end of the week when...?" He trailed off.
"Yeah. It sounds wierd, doesn't it. Me, pregnant." I laughed a bit.
"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll be a great mom." Tai teased me.
"Hey!" I said. Tai just grinned at me.
"Hehe...You know I love you, right?" He asked.
"Of course I do." I answered.
"Let's do something special tonight." Tai suggested. I smiled.
"What did you have in mind? And it doesn't involve whipped cream, does it?" I
asked.
"It doesn't unless you want it to. Actually, I was thinking, let's go out for
dinner." He told me, running his hand through my hair. "Sounds good, ne?" I
smiled.
"Actually, it does, hon." I told him. "Are we staying or coming back here for
dessert?" I subtly hinted.
"Are you horny or something?" Tai asked.
"You just now figured that out?" I said, a bit frustrated with him. "I have been
since I walked in the door and saw you." I turned around to face him. I could
tell my face had gone flush, and my body temperature was rising. "I..." I began,
unable to finish my thought.
"Shh..." Tai said as he kissed me. "I know, love." He whispered to me as he
started kissing near my ear. Tai slid his hands under my shirt and had it off in
a few moments. He traced as near as he could to my scar. It still hurt
sometimes, but it was healing. "They're right, scars are sexy." I laughed.
"Oh, Tai." I moaned. "Do me a favor and quit teasing me."
"What's the rush, dear? We have all afternoon." He told me, trailing kisses down
my chest. That really didn't help my erection. It was just getting worse. I soon
realized that Tai was only going to tease me. I finally couldn't take much more
of his teasing. I shoved Tai off of me and got up to remove the rest of my
clothing.
"This is the rush." I said as I laid back down on the couch, completely naked
now. I reached down to stroke myself. "Want to help, or are you just going to
watch?" I asked Tai, who had at some point done the same thing and removed his
clothes.
"I think I'll watch." He said with a twinkle in his eye. I shrugged. "Actually,
I'll be right back." Tai said and went into the bedroom. I wondered what he was
doing, but I didn't really care. All I cared about right now was what my hand
was doing. A few moments later, I felt another hand along with mine. I looked
over and saw Tai. "Give me your hand." He instructed.
"But, Tai..." I complained.
"Do it." He said. I relented and let him have my hand. The next thing I knew I
had both hands tied behind my back.
"Tai!" I complained.
"You trust me, don't you?" Tai asked. I nodded in answer. "Sorry, but I like
keeping you horny like this. If you can't touch it, you can't help, now can
you?" Not only that, but it was definitely keeping me hard and more in a rush.
"Please tell me that I'll get relief soon." Tai just grinned evilly. "Oh,
great."
"You know I'd never hurt you on purpose." He said as he crawled on top of me. He
bent down, kissing me all over, avoiding the one important spot that just wanted
attention. All I could do now was whimper.
"Tai, please. I'm begging you!" I told him when I could speak somewhat clearly.
"Relax a bit. I promise you'll feel better than ever when I'm through." The way
I felt I didn't really believe him. "Roll over, please." Tai asked as he pushed
me over. I knew what was coming, and it drove me even more crazy than I already
was. I felt a dull pain in my ass as Tai pushed himself into me. I grunted a
bit. I felt Tai rubbing my back as he was screwing me. My brain was in pleasure
overload mode. A few moments later I felt something squeezing me from the front.
'Finally' I thought. Unfortunately, considering the mood Tai was in, I knew that
it wouldn't last long. He rolled me back over on my back and gave me a deep kiss
on the mouth. I could tell he'd been chewing gum earlier because his mouth still
tasted of it. "Tai...please?" I asked him, barely able to take it anymore. He
grinned a kinder grin than before. His lips moved from my mouth and trailed down
my chest and abs. I was breathing heavily with the anticipation. I felt Tai's
soft lips tease my rock hard cock. "Please...I'm begging you." I managed to get
out.
"Why should I?" Tai mused out loud.
"Because you love me, that's why." I retorted "Please don't do this to me."
Those must have been the magic words because my erection had been covered by
Tai's warm, moist lips. I was gasping. I knew I would come quickly considering
how much teasing had been done. I barely had time to warn him before I did. "Now
that we're done fooling around, could you please untie me?" I asked Tai
politely.
He just chuckled and did as I asked. He sat down to where he could be behind me
so he could hold me. "I'm sorry about that." He apologized to me for some
reason.
"Don't be. It felt good, and yet frustrating at the same time." I told him. "I'm
doing that to you next time." I threatened. "But since when are you into
bondage?" Tai just smiled at me, and nuzzled into my hair near my left ear. He
licked the exposed skin lightly.
"I'm not." He finally answered. "I just wanted to make it interesting." He
explained.
He still had his face in my hair, when I remembered something. "Is even that
scar sexy?" I asked him. I turned around to look at his deep brown eyes. He just
had a blank look on his face. "You forgot, didn't you?"
"I did." I felt his arms go even tighter around me. "I didn't mean to,
Koushiro."
"I know." I said, leaning back.
"Please don't get upset. At me, or fate, please?" He requested.
"I'm not mad anymore. I've finally learned to accept it." I said quietly.
"That's all you can do." Tai said just as quietly. "I love you." He whispered in
my ear.
"Love you too." I said as I laid back on his chest and closed my eyes.
It was several hours later when I awoke to hear the phone ringing. I looked
around, wondering where Tai had gone when I realized he had answered the phone.
"Oh, he's awake. I'll let you talk to him then, Nika." Tai said as he handed me
the phone. What was she calling for?
"Hey, Koushiro." She said.
"What do you want, Nika-chan?" I asked, not wanting to wait for her to finally
spit it out.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to keep your promise." I had to think for a
moment, then realized she was talking about the email I had sent her the day
before.
"Right now?" I asked, a bit annoyed.
"Please." Nika whined. "Izzy-chan said that you did promise us, and, well, we
both kinda want to get out of here for a bit. I'm sooooooooooo bored. Please,
niisan?"
There was just something about the way my little sister begs that I just
couldn't resist. "Alright, alright." I told her. "I have to get ready and I'll
come over, okay?"
"Yay!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!" Nika practically screamed in my
ear.
"Calm down, Nika-chan." I told her. "And since when do you call her
'Izzy-chan'?" I asked, wondering about that. Nika hadn't ever called her by any
proper suffix before...not that -chan was really proper...
"Well, Mom called her that one day, and, it's kinda stuck, for now." I thanked
my lucky stars that I was a guy, or I might have been subjected to that torture.
Of course, I rarely had a suffix attached to my name anyway when that used to be
my nickname, but just the thought of certain someones calling me that made me
shudder. "Anyway, I'll see you later. Bye!" She said quickly and hung up.
'You've been around Tai too much' I thought to myself. Out loud I said, "Tai,
you're a bad influence on Nika-chan." Tai just grinned at me. "Anyway, I'm going
with her to the digital world. I kinda promised her. Besides, I think poor Izzy
was about to de-digivolve if she had to spend any more time with us."
"And who wants to feed an in-training?" Tai asked, rolling his eyes at the idea
of that nightmare. "Mind if I tag along?"
"You might as well. You never know what's going to happen." I knew what he was
thinking, and the question was 'Is Izzy going to try to kill me again.' And,
frankly, I was scared of the exact same thing.
Nika and Izzy were waiting for us outside. "Why are you out here, Nika-chan?" I
asked her. She shrugged in answer.
"Just excited to see you, I guess. And I wanted to give you this." She held out
her hand to me. "Mimi helped me with it." She said as I opened the small box.
I gave a small gasp as I saw what it was. "Nika-chan! It's..." I wasn't sure how
to describe it. It was a small charm that I knew had to be hand made. And it was
no wonder that Mimi had to help with it. It was a charm that was a replica of my
crest. Only, instead of a circle within a circle on the large end, it had been
left closed and engraved with the crest of courage.
"Cool." Tai said, looking over my shoulder at it.
"I have one for you as well, Tai. We thought it was only appropriate, since you
two are...you know..." I laughed.
"What's so funny?" Tai asked. "I think it's kind of touching."
"Sorry, I couldn't help it. It's very nice, Nika-chan. Arigato." I told her.
"Did Mimi explain to you what the symbols were?" I asked.
"She said to ask you." Nika told us. "She made me this one." And pulled one out
from under her shirt. The difference between hers and ours was the fact that
hers had Kari's crest engraved in the circle instead of Tai's. I smiled.
"You told her your real name is 'Hikari,' didn't you?" I asked.
"How'd you know?" Nika asked. I smiled.
"I thought you guys wanted to go to the digital world. Let's go, and then we'll
explain." I said, and opened the door. "Are Mom and Dad recovered yet?" I asked
Nika.
"Why do you think I want to do this now?" She asked. "So, your answer is no. Can
we raid the kitchen first?" I grinned.
"As long as you don't let Tai get there first. He'll eat everything." I teased
him, remembering the time he had spent the night and more or less force fed me
the next day because I hadn't ate for a couple of days. Between the two of us,
there hadn't been much left.
"Very funny, Koushiro." Tai said dryly and rolled his eyes. I just grinned.
"I have a better idea. Let's just order a pizza." I suggested. I knew Tai
wouldn't care what was on it, and Nika and I had about the same taste.
"Pineapple, onions, olives and hamburger?" I asked, pretty sure that they would
agree. Tai rolled his eyes and Nika agreed enthusiastically. We waited in Nika's
room for the pizza. It really hadn't changed that much, but you could definitely
tell that it was a girl's room now. There was just so much...cuteness in it now.
We were talking about what Nika did on her vacation. The doorbell finally rang.
I went and paid for the pizza since it was my idea, and brought it back.
"FOOD!!!" The three digimon cried in unison. That was then that I noticed
something strange on Izzy. And I laughed, remembering what she had done to
Tentomon when she was five.
"What's so funny?" Tai asked, looking confused like usual. I pointed at Izzy.
"What about her?"
"Look at her antennae." I said, while still laughing. Tai, Tentomon, and Agumon
turned to look at her. Tai and Agumon started laughing as well. I think Tentomon
would have been smiling. Nika had braided a bright magenta ribbon through Izzy's
antennae and tied it off with a new green ribbon.
"I think it's pretty neat." Izzy defended herself.
"It doesn't hurt?" Tentomon asked. She shook her head, making the strange pony
tail shake with it.
"Not a bit." She answered him.
"Gomen, Izzy." I apologized. "It just looks a bit strange."
"Well, we've both been a bit different." Nika said after clearing her mouth.
I rolled my eyes. "Are we ready to go now?" I asked everyone. They nodded.
"Nika?"
"Digi-port open!" She cried. I prayed to whatever higher beings there were that
I wouldn't be at the bottom of the doggypile while we got pulled through the
gate. I could maybe have handled Nika, Izzy, and Tentomon, but I don't think
that Tai and Agumon added into the eqation was going to help much if I was on
the bottom.
I felt nothing on top of me as I realized that I sitting on something that
wasn't ground. Tai had ended up on the bottom, with Nika, Agumon, and myself on
top of him, and Izzy and Tentomon on top of us. The two bugs quickly took
flight, and Nika and I hurredly got to our feet. I offered my hand to Tai to
help him up.
I felt a cold wind blow. "Did anyone else feel that?" I asked.
"Feel what?" Tai asked.
"The cold wind blows, sealing the fates of many..." Izzy said cryptically, her
deep voice going even deeper.
Chapter 9: Crests and Hair Ribbons
by Wannabe Koushiro
A/N - I must have a whipped cream fetish or something. hehe....Lemon alert
number 3, I believe. My mind is getting even more twisted. And I finally
realized that I had yet to use Koushiro's (English) catch phrase after writing 8
chapters from his POV...hehe...baka Mizu-chan... Hey, arigato to those that have
reviewed this. I appreciate it greatly.
-"Open Mind," Koushiro's 02 Theme
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had been staring at the computer screen for who knows how long. I had a little
ladybug trying to kill me, and I was trying to figure out why.
"Tai, this isn't getting me anywhere." I complained to my boyfriend as I sat
back and rubbed my eyes. "I don't think there's much difference in their
programs."
"Koushiro, there has to be something in her program that's making her target
you." Tai leaned over my shoulder to take a look, though I knew he wouldn't have
the slightest idea as to what he was looking for.
"Do you have any idea what you're looking for?" I asked him, teasing him a bit.
I knew he didn't. I didn't wait for him to answer me before I continued on.
"Besides, the only difference between Izzy's program and Tentomon's is very
minute. It's the line that determines their coloration."
"In that case, why don't you carry out your threat to turn her green?" Tai
asked.
"I think both Izzy and Nika would be mad at me for that." I answered simply.
"They're exactly the same otherwise. Well, the voice thing too, but that's
written so you can't mess with it. Too bad, I'd change her voice if I could."
"You still think that's creepy, huh?" Tai asked me. I shuddered as I thought of
how Izzy's voice sounded. No wonder Nika named her digimon after her older
brother...
"To a great extreme." I answered. "There just isn't anything I can do about it.
Other than going backwards and hope she never has to digivolve again. Have you
noticed it's only after she digivolves? Wait a minute! That's it!" I exclaimed
as I figured out the missing puzzle piece. "It's when she's a kabuterimon! An
adult level, not a rookie! We're looking at the wrong program!" I felt stupid
there for a second.
"And I thought you were a genius..." Tai teased me.
"This isn't the time for that." I said, annoyed, as I tried to find the right
program. "Argh...I need Nika here... or at least her digivice." I finally had
gotten a way to connect the D-3 to my computer. "I can get Tentomon's program
from mine, but I need Izzy's before I can figure out if there's something wrong
with it." I told him.
"Here." Tai tossed the phone at me before I could even ask him to do that.
"How'd you know?" I asked him as I dialed.
"I'm psychic." Tai said, grinning at me.
"Sure you are..." I said, rolling my eyes, as I called my little sister. My mom
finally answered the phone. "Hi, Mom." I greeted her. "Can I talk to Nika?" I
asked her.
"Don't you ever want to talk to me?" Mom asked me, disappointed. I know she
misses me living at home, but I didn't want to. I wanted to be with Tai.
Besides, with Nika now, it was getting a bit crowded at home. That, and I was
more or less told that as soon as I hit 18 to get out. It was okay though.
"Sorry, Mom. How about after I talk to Nika?" I proposed a compromise.
"Oh, alright." I think she was teasing me a bit, too. "Here's Nika." She told
me.
"Koushiro!" Nika greeted me. "What's up, bro?" She asked.
"Can I borrow your digivice?" I asked without preamble.
"What do you want that for?" She asked me.
"So I can try to figure out if Izzy is trying to kill me." I stated simply.
"You know she's not trying." Nika said, stressing the trying.
"I know, but twice is too much of a coincidence for me." I told her. "So,
anytime you could let me have it, I'd appreciate it greatly."
"Actually, I had a favor to ask you, my dear, sweet brother..." Nika began
buttering me up.
"What's that?" I asked her, sighing.
"Um...I hate telling you this, but Mom and Dad and I are going on vacation."
Nika began.
"I'm not invited?" I asked, a bit disappointed that I wasn't.
"Sorry, niisan." Nika said. "Anyway, they asked me if I could get you or someone
to watch Izzy."
"Of course I'll do it." I said. "Can I have your digivice then? It's not like I
can get her to digivolve, and frankly, I don't want her to. I finally figured
out it's only when she goes beyond her rookie stage."
"Huh." Nika just said.
"Anyway, when are you going?" I asked.
"In a couple of weeks. We're going to New York." She told me.
"Wow. Now I'm really regretting not being invited. Hey, I promised Mom I'd talk
to her some more. I'm sure she'll tell me all about it." I told Nika.
"Oh, all right." I think that Nika was a bit disappointed. It's hard trying to
make everyone happy.
Well, Mom told me more of their vacation plans and why I wasn't invited. I asked
Mom to give Mimi a call while she was there just to say 'hi' for us. I must have
been on the phone for quite a while.
"Anything new?" Tai asked jokingly after I had hung up.
"My family is going on vacation without me." I told him. "It's okay, I have to
work anyway. So, while they're gone, we get an extra bug."
"We get Izzy? And I thought I could go back to calling you that." Tai sighed.
"Darn."
I smiled. "Maybe we should keep her so you can't."
"I don't think Nika would like that idea." Tai said.
"I know she wouldn't. I was just teasing you, hon."
"I know you were." He said as he sat down next to me. "So that's really no help,
huh?" Tai asked as he pointed to the computer screen in my lap.
"Nope." I said and closed the lid. I set it off to the side. I felt Tai's arms
go around me as I did so. I leaned back into him. "I hope she's not going to try
to kill me anymore."
"You said yourself it's only when she's at a stage above rookie. And you know
she can't digivolve without Nika." I nodded. I was feeling very nervous about
having her with us for a week.
"Tentomon can keep her out of trouble, huh?" I said. I could feel Tai agree with
me.
"Him and Agumon." Tai said.
"No offense, but that's the worst idea I've heard for a while."
"Hey!" Tai said, mock upset at me. I always thought that any trouble that
Tentomon got into was caused by Agumon, and Tai knew that. He leaned forward to
kiss me on the neck. "When are you not going to blame him?" Tai asked, knowing
that he was driving me nuts.
I couldn't answer him. I just sighed at the way I was feeling. Tai knew what he
was doing. "Stop it." I told him, not really wanting him to.
"Do you really want me to?" He asked, reading my mind.
"Not really." I replied.
"Good."
Well, a few weeks had passed, and I was coming home from work. I had just opened
the door when I was attacked.
"Hello!" Izzy greeted me, flying up to me.
"Hello, yourself." I told her as I caught her. "Where's everyone else?" I asked.
She just shrugged.
"Beats me." She said.
"It's okay. Hey, Nika's coming back tomorrow morning." I told her.
"It's been a week already? Wow." I take it that digimon don't really keep track
of time too well. "I do miss Nika though. Actually, I was kind of lonely all
day." She said sadly. I smiled.
"Come on." I said as I went to get a snack. Izzy settled herself on my
shoulders. "So, you have no idea where anyone is?" I asked as I fixed something.
"I think Tai went out running. As for Tentomon and Agumon, I have no clue." She
told me. I would have shrugged if she wasn't sitting on my shoulders.
"Oh, well." I said, sitting down. Izzy flew down to the floor.
"You have me." She said. I smiled at her.
"You're right." I set my plate down and picked up my computer instead. "Well,
you can't say that you weren't taken good care of, right?" I asked her,
scratching her on the head. I don't know why, but she really likes that.
"You're just as good as Nika." I laughed.
"Hey, Nika emailed me. She misses both of us. And she says that Mom and Dad miss
us too." Nika finally had her own computer that, like I used to, she drags
everywhere. It was nice though, hearing from her while she's on vacation. "You
have anything you want to say to her?" I asked Izzy as I was writing Nika back.
"Nope, just tell her that I miss her too and I'll be glad to see her tomorrow."
She told me.
"Done. I also asked her something, and I think you'll like this. I know that
Nika is going to have a bit of jet lag, but I was thinking that we all could
spend a bit of time in the digital world when she gets back."
"I know I'd like to. I hope Nika does too." Izzy told me. I smiled. "You have
some good ideas, Koushiro." I heard the door open and close behind me.
"At least one of us usually does." I heard Tai say from behind me.
"Where've you been?" I asked him.
"Track practice, where else?" He answered me.
"This late?" I asked. It was almost 9:30.
"Last one of the season. We got a lecture on team spirit and such things." Tai
rolled his eyes at that. I laughed.
"I think you're the last person that needs to hear that." I told him.
"Why's that?" Izzy asked. Gee, she was a curious little thing.
"He's a natural leader." I explained to her. "He kept us together through a lot.
Anyway..." I trailed off. "Have you seen Agumon or Tentomon?" I asked Tai.
"No, why? They left when I did though, if that's any help." He responded.
"Not really. Why do they leave when I most want to talk to either one of them?"
I muttered.
"Because they hate you." Tai said, joking.
"That's not funny." I told him. He bent down and kissed me. "Ugh. You smell like
sweat."
"What'd you expect? Anyway, I'm heading for the shower anyway, hon." He headed
that way while I just sighed.
"You guys really love each other, huh?" Izzy asked me.
"Of course." I told her.
"Why?" She asked the big question. I grinned.
"Izzy, my dear, when you're in love, there is no such thing as why." She got a
wierd look on her very non-expressive face. I think she was a bit shocked that I
would say that. "Just trust me on this." I said through my laughter at her
reaction.
"No wonder Nika thinks you're silly." Izzy said, shaking her head. I laughed.
"I think you've been around her too much." I teased her. "Anyway, I'm going to
bed so I can get up to meet the family. You should probably do the same." I
suggested to her.
I woke up early the next morning. Surprisingly, I was pretty much alone. It made
me nervous to think of how quiet it was. I was fixing some breakfast when I saw
Tentomon stumble into the kitchen.
"Wild party last night?" I asked him quietly.
"Don't ask." He told me. I grinned.
"You guys have got to try staying home sometimes." I glanced down at him.
"Someone try to beat you up? You look a bit bruised. Anymore purple on you and I
might mistake you for Izzy." I told him.
"Like I said, don't ask." I just shook my head.
"Are you coming with us?" I asked him, changing the subject.
"I guess I have nothing better to do." He told me. I chuckled at that.
"Here, have some breakfast." I told him. I don't know what got into me, but I
actually cooked. Okay, I guess it doesn't take much talent to open a tube of
rolls and bake them, but anyway...
"What smells so good?" Izzy asked as she joined us.
"These." Tentomon told her as he passed his twin the plate.
"Thanks." She said as she poked a roll with her claw.
"Are you guys ready to go after we eat?" I asked them. As they were eating, all
I got in answer was nods. "Good. Ready to see Nika again?" I asked Izzy.
"Definitely." She answered as I heard the door open and close.
"You guys are up early." Tai commented.
"Technically, I haven't even gone to bed yet." Tentomon told him.
"We're going to go meet my family at the airport. They should be back in about
an hour, so we really need to get going." I said the last part for the benefit
of the bugs. Someone had to encourage them to eat quickly. "Are you coming too?"
I asked Tai.
"Nah. It's your family." He told me. I was a bit disappointed, but I understood
that he felt like he would be intruding on us.
"Alright. We'll see you later." I stretched up to give Tai a quick kiss. I
herded the two ladybugs out the door and grabbed a jacket as I walked out.
It seemed like we'd been waiting forever. Well, maybe just a half hour. I was
reading a book on mythology when I heard a familiar voice.
"Koushiro!? Where are you?" Nika!
"Here, Nika-chan." I raised my voice to the point where she might be able to
hear me, but not loud enough to make people stare. I stood up so she could see
me. Actually, since the dye had faded from my hair it was kind of hard not to
miss me. Nika came running up to me.
"I missed you, niisan!" She said.
"I missed you too, munchkin." I told her. "Did you have fun?" I asked her as Mom
and Dad caught up to her. I smiled at them. Nika was probably a bit of a handful
for them anymore.
"Lots. I even met your friend Mimi." Nika was telling me as we headed for home.
"Prodigious." I said.
"She's really cool." Nika commented. "Sorry, Izzy." Nika bent down to scratch
her digimon on the head. "I didn't mean to ignore you, it's just that I'm so
excited."
"And we have jet lag..." I heard Dad comment under his breath. I just hid my
mouth behind my hand and smiled. I was wondering why she was so hyper as well.
"It's okay, I understand." Izzy answered Nika at the same time.
"I take it you had a really good time, huh? So, did you bring me anything?" I
teasingly asked Nika.
"Yeah, me too!" Izzy chimed in right behind me.
"I had to." Nika said. "When we get home, okay? I don't think I have the time to
get them out right now." I nodded, understanding. Things were quiet on the way
home. Even Nika settled down to the point where she was asleep. She was leaning
against me, using me for a pillow.
"She must have been more tired than she let on." Mom said.
"Can you blame her?" I asked.
"Of course not." She answered. "I'm going to do the same thing when I get home."
"We probably all will." Dad said. I just smiled.
"Hey, Koushiro?" Izzy started.
"What?" I asked.
"Are we still going to the digiworld later?" She asked.
"If Nika feels up to it. Maybe it would be better to wait until tomorrow. Let's
let her get caught up. She thinks it's yesterday yet." I told her as we arrived
'home.' I carefully climbed out of the car so as to not wake Nika up. I then
turned back around and picked her up. "I didn't know she was so heavy." I
commented as I carried her to the door.
"I could have gotten her, Koushiro." Dad told me as he unlocked the door. "And
you probably shouldn't be carrying her around. What about..." He trailed off.
"It's okay, Dad." I told him. "I don't mind, and I'm not hurting anything. At
least, not that I know of." I took the familiar right turn just inside the door
and put Nika down on her bed. Izzy flew up to be beside her. "You're definitely
staying, right?" I teased the little bug quietly. I think she would have grinned
if she could have.
"It's good to be back with Nika." She told me. I nodded. Nika rolled over trying
to get settled. I think I heard her murmur 'Izzy-chan,' but I wasn't sure.
"I'm going to go home. I'll call tomorrow, okay." I told them. I walked out to
the living room. "Need any help with anything?" I asked my parents. They both
shook their heads. "I'm going to go home then. I might be over tomorrow though.
See ya." I walked out the door. I looked down to make sure Tentomon was with me.
I had kind of forgotten about him.
We'd been walking along in silence. I'd been thinking about a lot of things. One
of the big topics on my mind was the medical experiment I was participating in.
A few weeks ago I had been under the knife for the transplant. It took a bit of
getting used to, but it was worth it, at least for me. I knew later this week
that we were going to move on to the next phase if everything was well. It made
me excited, yet worried and nervous at the same time.
A quiet buzzing noise and a sudden weight on my shoulders brought me out of my
thoughts.
"What are you thinking about?" Tentomon asked me. I think he just wanted the
ride since he hadn't slept yet and was probably getting too tired to walk. It
was nice of him to strike up a conversation though.
"This." I said, running my hand over my stomach. "Do you think this is a good
idea?" Actually, we've had this conversation before.
"If you want it this bad to do this, then yes." Tentomon reassured me. "You've
gone too far to turn back now."
"I know." I said. "I just hope it goes alright." We finally got home.
"Home already?" Tai greeted me from the couch.
"Nice to see you too." I grinned at him. It had been quite a while since we
could just sit down and talk. Unfortunately, that wasn't what the rest of me had
in mind. I crossed the room to sit down next to him.
"Everyone come back in one piece?" He asked. I nodded absently. Just sitting
down next to him made me tingle. I felt his practiced hands on my shoulder.
"What's with you?"
"Nothing. Just...I don't know..." I still had a bit of a hard time sharing my
emotions with others, even Tai, though I was getting better. Tai leaned forward
and kissed me.
"Don't say that..." He told me.
"It's just that...I guess I'm feeling a bit nervous anymore." I told him.
"About the experiment?" Tai asked. I nodded.
"What if something goes wrong?" I wondered out loud.
"Nothing is going to go wrong." Tai tried to reassure me. "Please don't worry
about it, Koushiro. Whatever happens will happen for a reason." He told me as he
trailed light kisses on my face. I just sighed and leaned back into him. "Isn't
the end of the week when...?" He trailed off.
"Yeah. It sounds wierd, doesn't it. Me, pregnant." I laughed a bit.
"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll be a great mom." Tai teased me.
"Hey!" I said. Tai just grinned at me.
"Hehe...You know I love you, right?" He asked.
"Of course I do." I answered.
"Let's do something special tonight." Tai suggested. I smiled.
"What did you have in mind? And it doesn't involve whipped cream, does it?" I
asked.
"It doesn't unless you want it to. Actually, I was thinking, let's go out for
dinner." He told me, running his hand through my hair. "Sounds good, ne?" I
smiled.
"Actually, it does, hon." I told him. "Are we staying or coming back here for
dessert?" I subtly hinted.
"Are you horny or something?" Tai asked.
"You just now figured that out?" I said, a bit frustrated with him. "I have been
since I walked in the door and saw you." I turned around to face him. I could
tell my face had gone flush, and my body temperature was rising. "I..." I began,
unable to finish my thought.
"Shh..." Tai said as he kissed me. "I know, love." He whispered to me as he
started kissing near my ear. Tai slid his hands under my shirt and had it off in
a few moments. He traced as near as he could to my scar. It still hurt
sometimes, but it was healing. "They're right, scars are sexy." I laughed.
"Oh, Tai." I moaned. "Do me a favor and quit teasing me."
"What's the rush, dear? We have all afternoon." He told me, trailing kisses down
my chest. That really didn't help my erection. It was just getting worse. I soon
realized that Tai was only going to tease me. I finally couldn't take much more
of his teasing. I shoved Tai off of me and got up to remove the rest of my
clothing.
"This is the rush." I said as I laid back down on the couch, completely naked
now. I reached down to stroke myself. "Want to help, or are you just going to
watch?" I asked Tai, who had at some point done the same thing and removed his
clothes.
"I think I'll watch." He said with a twinkle in his eye. I shrugged. "Actually,
I'll be right back." Tai said and went into the bedroom. I wondered what he was
doing, but I didn't really care. All I cared about right now was what my hand
was doing. A few moments later, I felt another hand along with mine. I looked
over and saw Tai. "Give me your hand." He instructed.
"But, Tai..." I complained.
"Do it." He said. I relented and let him have my hand. The next thing I knew I
had both hands tied behind my back.
"Tai!" I complained.
"You trust me, don't you?" Tai asked. I nodded in answer. "Sorry, but I like
keeping you horny like this. If you can't touch it, you can't help, now can
you?" Not only that, but it was definitely keeping me hard and more in a rush.
"Please tell me that I'll get relief soon." Tai just grinned evilly. "Oh,
great."
"You know I'd never hurt you on purpose." He said as he crawled on top of me. He
bent down, kissing me all over, avoiding the one important spot that just wanted
attention. All I could do now was whimper.
"Tai, please. I'm begging you!" I told him when I could speak somewhat clearly.
"Relax a bit. I promise you'll feel better than ever when I'm through." The way
I felt I didn't really believe him. "Roll over, please." Tai asked as he pushed
me over. I knew what was coming, and it drove me even more crazy than I already
was. I felt a dull pain in my ass as Tai pushed himself into me. I grunted a
bit. I felt Tai rubbing my back as he was screwing me. My brain was in pleasure
overload mode. A few moments later I felt something squeezing me from the front.
'Finally' I thought. Unfortunately, considering the mood Tai was in, I knew that
it wouldn't last long. He rolled me back over on my back and gave me a deep kiss
on the mouth. I could tell he'd been chewing gum earlier because his mouth still
tasted of it. "Tai...please?" I asked him, barely able to take it anymore. He
grinned a kinder grin than before. His lips moved from my mouth and trailed down
my chest and abs. I was breathing heavily with the anticipation. I felt Tai's
soft lips tease my rock hard cock. "Please...I'm begging you." I managed to get
out.
"Why should I?" Tai mused out loud.
"Because you love me, that's why." I retorted "Please don't do this to me."
Those must have been the magic words because my erection had been covered by
Tai's warm, moist lips. I was gasping. I knew I would come quickly considering
how much teasing had been done. I barely had time to warn him before I did. "Now
that we're done fooling around, could you please untie me?" I asked Tai
politely.
He just chuckled and did as I asked. He sat down to where he could be behind me
so he could hold me. "I'm sorry about that." He apologized to me for some
reason.
"Don't be. It felt good, and yet frustrating at the same time." I told him. "I'm
doing that to you next time." I threatened. "But since when are you into
bondage?" Tai just smiled at me, and nuzzled into my hair near my left ear. He
licked the exposed skin lightly.
"I'm not." He finally answered. "I just wanted to make it interesting." He
explained.
He still had his face in my hair, when I remembered something. "Is even that
scar sexy?" I asked him. I turned around to look at his deep brown eyes. He just
had a blank look on his face. "You forgot, didn't you?"
"I did." I felt his arms go even tighter around me. "I didn't mean to,
Koushiro."
"I know." I said, leaning back.
"Please don't get upset. At me, or fate, please?" He requested.
"I'm not mad anymore. I've finally learned to accept it." I said quietly.
"That's all you can do." Tai said just as quietly. "I love you." He whispered in
my ear.
"Love you too." I said as I laid back on his chest and closed my eyes.
It was several hours later when I awoke to hear the phone ringing. I looked
around, wondering where Tai had gone when I realized he had answered the phone.
"Oh, he's awake. I'll let you talk to him then, Nika." Tai said as he handed me
the phone. What was she calling for?
"Hey, Koushiro." She said.
"What do you want, Nika-chan?" I asked, not wanting to wait for her to finally
spit it out.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to keep your promise." I had to think for a
moment, then realized she was talking about the email I had sent her the day
before.
"Right now?" I asked, a bit annoyed.
"Please." Nika whined. "Izzy-chan said that you did promise us, and, well, we
both kinda want to get out of here for a bit. I'm sooooooooooo bored. Please,
niisan?"
There was just something about the way my little sister begs that I just
couldn't resist. "Alright, alright." I told her. "I have to get ready and I'll
come over, okay?"
"Yay!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!" Nika practically screamed in my
ear.
"Calm down, Nika-chan." I told her. "And since when do you call her
'Izzy-chan'?" I asked, wondering about that. Nika hadn't ever called her by any
proper suffix before...not that -chan was really proper...
"Well, Mom called her that one day, and, it's kinda stuck, for now." I thanked
my lucky stars that I was a guy, or I might have been subjected to that torture.
Of course, I rarely had a suffix attached to my name anyway when that used to be
my nickname, but just the thought of certain someones calling me that made me
shudder. "Anyway, I'll see you later. Bye!" She said quickly and hung up.
'You've been around Tai too much' I thought to myself. Out loud I said, "Tai,
you're a bad influence on Nika-chan." Tai just grinned at me. "Anyway, I'm going
with her to the digital world. I kinda promised her. Besides, I think poor Izzy
was about to de-digivolve if she had to spend any more time with us."
"And who wants to feed an in-training?" Tai asked, rolling his eyes at the idea
of that nightmare. "Mind if I tag along?"
"You might as well. You never know what's going to happen." I knew what he was
thinking, and the question was 'Is Izzy going to try to kill me again.' And,
frankly, I was scared of the exact same thing.
Nika and Izzy were waiting for us outside. "Why are you out here, Nika-chan?" I
asked her. She shrugged in answer.
"Just excited to see you, I guess. And I wanted to give you this." She held out
her hand to me. "Mimi helped me with it." She said as I opened the small box.
I gave a small gasp as I saw what it was. "Nika-chan! It's..." I wasn't sure how
to describe it. It was a small charm that I knew had to be hand made. And it was
no wonder that Mimi had to help with it. It was a charm that was a replica of my
crest. Only, instead of a circle within a circle on the large end, it had been
left closed and engraved with the crest of courage.
"Cool." Tai said, looking over my shoulder at it.
"I have one for you as well, Tai. We thought it was only appropriate, since you
two are...you know..." I laughed.
"What's so funny?" Tai asked. "I think it's kind of touching."
"Sorry, I couldn't help it. It's very nice, Nika-chan. Arigato." I told her.
"Did Mimi explain to you what the symbols were?" I asked.
"She said to ask you." Nika told us. "She made me this one." And pulled one out
from under her shirt. The difference between hers and ours was the fact that
hers had Kari's crest engraved in the circle instead of Tai's. I smiled.
"You told her your real name is 'Hikari,' didn't you?" I asked.
"How'd you know?" Nika asked. I smiled.
"I thought you guys wanted to go to the digital world. Let's go, and then we'll
explain." I said, and opened the door. "Are Mom and Dad recovered yet?" I asked
Nika.
"Why do you think I want to do this now?" She asked. "So, your answer is no. Can
we raid the kitchen first?" I grinned.
"As long as you don't let Tai get there first. He'll eat everything." I teased
him, remembering the time he had spent the night and more or less force fed me
the next day because I hadn't ate for a couple of days. Between the two of us,
there hadn't been much left.
"Very funny, Koushiro." Tai said dryly and rolled his eyes. I just grinned.
"I have a better idea. Let's just order a pizza." I suggested. I knew Tai
wouldn't care what was on it, and Nika and I had about the same taste.
"Pineapple, onions, olives and hamburger?" I asked, pretty sure that they would
agree. Tai rolled his eyes and Nika agreed enthusiastically. We waited in Nika's
room for the pizza. It really hadn't changed that much, but you could definitely
tell that it was a girl's room now. There was just so much...cuteness in it now.
We were talking about what Nika did on her vacation. The doorbell finally rang.
I went and paid for the pizza since it was my idea, and brought it back.
"FOOD!!!" The three digimon cried in unison. That was then that I noticed
something strange on Izzy. And I laughed, remembering what she had done to
Tentomon when she was five.
"What's so funny?" Tai asked, looking confused like usual. I pointed at Izzy.
"What about her?"
"Look at her antennae." I said, while still laughing. Tai, Tentomon, and Agumon
turned to look at her. Tai and Agumon started laughing as well. I think Tentomon
would have been smiling. Nika had braided a bright magenta ribbon through Izzy's
antennae and tied it off with a new green ribbon.
"I think it's pretty neat." Izzy defended herself.
"It doesn't hurt?" Tentomon asked. She shook her head, making the strange pony
tail shake with it.
"Not a bit." She answered him.
"Gomen, Izzy." I apologized. "It just looks a bit strange."
"Well, we've both been a bit different." Nika said after clearing her mouth.
I rolled my eyes. "Are we ready to go now?" I asked everyone. They nodded.
"Nika?"
"Digi-port open!" She cried. I prayed to whatever higher beings there were that
I wouldn't be at the bottom of the doggypile while we got pulled through the
gate. I could maybe have handled Nika, Izzy, and Tentomon, but I don't think
that Tai and Agumon added into the eqation was going to help much if I was on
the bottom.
I felt nothing on top of me as I realized that I sitting on something that
wasn't ground. Tai had ended up on the bottom, with Nika, Agumon, and myself on
top of him, and Izzy and Tentomon on top of us. The two bugs quickly took
flight, and Nika and I hurredly got to our feet. I offered my hand to Tai to
help him up.
I felt a cold wind blow. "Did anyone else feel that?" I asked.
"Feel what?" Tai asked.
"The cold wind blows, sealing the fates of many..." Izzy said cryptically, her
deep voice going even deeper.
