Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Remembering You ❯ Battle 3 Parallel Digital Worlds ( Chapter 3 )
NOTES: (Very important so you can understand)
(1) Takato didn't find the portal to the Digital World until 3 years later.
(2) The Frontier Chosens are a bit older then they should be in the regular show. This story takes place between after each Chosen has gotten a hold on their Human Spirits, after Takuya, Kouji, and Junpei had gotten their Beast Spirit, through after they defeat Cherubimon and before meeting the Royal Knights.
(3) Izumi didn't get her Beast Spirit yet, as did Tomoki. The episode with them getting stuck on the island with the Toucanmon NEVER happened. So is the episode with the Gomamon and Izumi VS. Ranamon fight. Whamon just happened to get them to a Different island without the Toucanmon.
(4) They won't be called their real names unless someone is serious. Although it won't apply to Takato, Rika, Ryo, Kenta, and Takuya. Unless the other person gives them a glare ^_^.
Summery: Season2/3/4 X-over. Mimi disappears, and the others track her down to another digital world. They learn that two other girls are missing; girls named Jeri and Izumi. Later, three Digimon come and attack the group. Who are they? More importantly, why are they so familiar?

Battle 3: Parallel Digital Worlds
Tamers' World *Takato's POV*
It's been 3 years since the defeat of the D-Reaper. Everybody did their own part in restoring the cities and towns that were destroyed, even us young Tamers, since it was mostly our fault for most of the destruction. All lives were slowly being returned to the way they used to be. Of course, without our partner Digimon, it wasn't really how our lives used to be, but we had adjusted all right so far. When we wanted to worry about the loss, we only did it when we were alone by ourselves, or with each other. (a/n: when I mean 'with each other', I mean only between the tamers)
Even if we did act like the Digimon incident never existed, our parents and close friends were able to see that we were still sad with what happened. They always reassured us that we would meet with them again. Especially with what I promised Guilmon; that we will see and play with each other again someday. We had come to the conclusion that our adventures in the world of data were over as we know it, but little did we know that it was far from over.
And what timing it will happen then today of all days, when it was a special day for the others and me.
*End Of Takato's POV*
******
The young teen happily jogged down the sidewalk as he made his way to his destination: the park. He was on his way to meet up with his friends, for they were going to hang out for today's special occasion. It was the anniversary for when his partner Digimon, Guilmon, first appeared. That was indeed the best thing that had ever happened to him. That time is when his wish was granted, to be a Digimon Tamer and have his own Digimon partner.
During the years, 14 year old Takato Matsuki had made a bit of a change to his wardrobe. He still wore the goggles, but he didn't wear the usual kind of clothes he wore as a child. He had grown fond of wearing sleeveless shirts and jeans. His usual clothes right now consisted of a black sleeveless top with the white words 'Digimon Tamer' on it, a red vest, and blue jeans. His physical appearance did change a bit as well, for he was more lean and muscular. He still held his childish attitude, but had begun to gain mature attitudes as well. Although on very rare times, he would stoop to Rika's choice of not so very good of words, especially when it came to defending others from bullies.
He had grown to be the skilled Digimon card player as well. He's managed to cream even the Digimon Queen and King themselves several times. Their expressions were so priceless, especially Rika's. She muttered something about how the 'goggle head' beat her and all. That memory made Takato give out a giggle. He skidded to a halt when he arrived to his destination. He went up the steps and headed towards the old hangout. Upon arriving and seeing the faces of his friends, a big smile appeared on his face.
"Hi guys!"
"Hey Takato!" they all said in unison. "What took you so long Chumley?" asked Kazu as he wrapped an arm around the teen's shoulder. "Sorry, my mom told me to clean up my room first or else I couldn't come."
"How long has it been since you last cleaned your room?"
"About three weeks or so."
"Man, compared to yours, I haven't cleaned my room for 2 months."
"1 month for me," replied Kenta.
"It must be a complete pig style then. It'll probably take me about 2 years to navigate through," said Rika sarcastically.
"Hey it's not that messy!" they both replied. Rika just rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure. Like you ever think of cleaning it." The others laughed. "Oh yeah! Since when was the last time you cleaned your room?"
"Yeah!"
Rika gave an irritated sigh. "For your information dumb and dumber, I only sleep, think, change my clothes, and play with my cards in my room ONLY, and nothing else. Argh, why are we even having this stupid conversation about how clean our rooms are anyway!?" Kazu shrugged. Kenta just stood there silently.
"You started it," he replied.
"No you did," she responded back.
"No you did."
"No you."
"You."
"You."
"You."
"You."
"You."
"You."
~And there they go again. Typical~ thought Takato as he watched the two argue for like what, the millionth time?
He then noticed Ryo try and stop the arguing. "Come on guys, why can't you two just get along?"
"Shut up Akiyama!" Rika retorted.
"Yeah what she said. And it was you who started it!" Kazu responded.
"No it was you!" she yelled back.
Ryo had a surprised look on his face. Just then Henry came up to him.
"Well that's a first, Kazu actually dissing you," he said. Ryo nodded. "Yeah, but can you believe that he agreed with her?"
"Well there is a first time for everything." Ryo sighed. "Tell me about it."
~Yup, very typical~ Takato thought. From there on, his thoughts drifted somewhere else.
Rika and Kazu's continuous bickering and arguing are one of the things that haven't changed. Oh about how the group is doing.
Well Rika is still the same Rika we all know and love, of course with a few minor changes. She still doesn't like dresses, but she's fine with wearing skirts. In fact, she was wearing one right now. Her physical appearance changed as well. She wore her hair in a ponytail as always, but once in a while she would leave it down. Her womanly structures were developing as well. She was slimmer and her curves were perfect, at least that's what guys think. She's still the Digimon Queen, even if her skills did improve, and still second to Ryo. Sure Takato beat her in a match, but it wasn't an official tournament game, it was only for fun. During the years, she'd grown very close to her mom and grandmother. Rumiko did her best to spend a lot of time with her daughter, since they had a lot of catching up to do. Rika still disliked shopping, but she still has managed to get used to it.
As for Kazu and Kenta, they didn't change one bit. Well, their personality didn't. Their Digimon skills did improve, but they were still no match for Rika. They also did manage to get girlfriends, even though the others thought how could they put up with the both of them? I guess having similar personalities is the answer. Kazu's girl practically worships him as if he was God himself, just like how he still worships Ryo for being the Digimon King, and Kenta's girl pampers him like a kitty. It's really quite amusing.
Ryo and Henry started to get to know one another after the D-Reaper incident, and are practically now the best of friends. You could say that Henry gained another sibling; he's even teaching him how to fight. As I mentioned earlier, Ryo is the Digimon King, still the best of the best. And just like Rika, he lost a few games to Takato. He wasn't angry or upset like she was when Takato beat him, but was very impressed. His kind of wardrobe hasn't changed either, but his appearance did. He was so down right gorgeous, that 'almost' every girl in his school was after him. Of course he only had his eyes set on one girl…
The Digimon Queen herself, or what he prefers to call her, Wild Cat.
Henry is still his old self. He's still practicing martial arts, and is competing in the upcoming tournament. He persuaded Ryo to compete, so he's going too. Ever since the event occurred when the Digimon went back to the Digital World, he rarely played the Digimon game anymore, and spent more time doing other things, like practicing his fighting skills, doing his school work, hanging out with Ryo, and taking Suzy to the park to play. It was the only thing he could do after having Suzy let go of Lopmon. She convinced her that they'll meet one another again someday, and she would constantly look up to the stars, hoping she'll see her Digimon flying towards her.
Henry and Ryo do share their amount of secrets, but there is one secret that Henry doesn't want to share to Ryo. He was afraid that if he told him, Ryo would break up their brotherly bond and would hate him. The truth was, Henry started to fall for a girl, and not just any girl.
It was the Digimon Queen herself.
He couldn't really explain how and why it happened, but he guessed that he just started to grow unnoticed feelings for, not that she'll ever return them, as what he always thought. At least he was able to keep his affection hidden from her. Takato and Jeri were the only people he trusted this secret to, so that's why he told it to the both of them.
"It sure must be hard for Rika to always put up with those two huh?" Takato was sent out of his thoughts by a familiar soft voice behind him. His face then started to go red. He turned around and met with a smiling face that belonged to his crush…Jeri Katou. Her bright expression then turned to a concern one. "Are you alright Takato? Your face is all red." He turned redder as he averted his gaze to the sky.
"Uh me, I'm just ah, fine. It might just be um, um, the sun, yeah that's it the sun. No need to get worried." She smiled. "I know, but with you, I guess I always have to be worried. You sometimes get into trouble with others, mainly those bullies at school." He blinked. He never knew she worried about him that much. Sure he does get in trouble with others, but it only happens because of the way they are treating everybody else. Besides, they all know that he could take on any of them, he learned from being a Tamer. He smiled that he noticed made her blush.
"Thanks Jeri."
"N-no problem."
Jeri hasn't changed much either; she's still the same old Jeri. Though she changed her wardrobe. Instead of the green dress, she switched to a white top with a tie and a green miniskirt. She still plays with that sock puppet of hers even at her age. She was developing her womanly curves as well, this Takato noticed. (a/n: Takato is so perceptive isn't he? *trying to be sarcastic*) As for her family, she was finally willing to accept her step mother, and frankly were close, just like her and her real mother when she was alive. She still missed Leomon greatly, but was able to remain true to herself for his sake. Eventually, she and Rika were now very close friends, (even if she called her 'Puppet Girl' sometimes) and she was getting the hang of playing the card game. She'd even managed to beat Kazu and Kenta on her first try. Their faces were so priceless that time.
"Hey 'Goggle Head', you just gonna stand their with 'Puppet Girl'? 'Cause you know we can all leave you here in private," Rika said as she smirked. The two teens blushed.
"Uh, we're coming Rika!" Takato replied. When they reached the others, Jeri went over to talk with Rika, while Takato went over to Henry and Ryo. "So, who was it this time?" he asked. "Again the 'Brainiac' here stopped both of their bickering." Henry just smiled. "Wow, score another for him, and Ryo zip." Ryo just snorted. "Hey it's not my fault that I'm not diplomatic enough. I just tend to make her madder than less strict."
"Well at least she's grown softer on you, that is if you do get her very mad," replied Henry. Ryo smirked.
"True."
And the day drew on. They did everything that came to their mind, from going to photo booths to take pictures (much to Rika's dismay) to playing in the arcade area and dance to the Dance Dance Revolution Game. The ones that were a pro at this game were Ryo, Rika, and Jeri. Takato and Henry were in the middle level, while Kazu and Kenta were at the bottom level. Of course they did try their best. Rika was really laughing herself out when she watched those two try to dance. At least she told them it wasn't that bad, and like always that ended up in another argument. And like always, Henry was able to break it up.
The group continued to have fun around town, and before they knew it, the sun had begun to set to begin the arrival of nightfall. They all said their goodbyes and separated from one another. Kazu and Kenta went one way, Ryo and Henry went another, and Rika and Jeri had gone another way. Takato was left by himself, not like he wasn't used to it already. Besides, the others knew that his house wasn't more than a block away. What they didn't know was that before heading home, he would always go back to Guilmon's hideout and see if there was anything new, or he would just sit inside and think about his Digimon for a while.
Tonight, he stuck to thinking. How he missed Guilmon so much. When he left, he felt like a part of him was taken away. It was like Guilmon was the one who made him whole. Without him, he was incomplete. Sometimes he wondered, would he be able to keep his promise to him? It worried him a lot that he sometimes lost faith in himself. He even wondered if it was all really just a dream, and that he was still sleeping. He pinched himself.
"OUCH!"
Nope he was definitely not dreaming, and this was all real. He then suddenly felt something familiar that made him jolt a bit. A glow caught his attention, and it was coming from that big hole that Guilmon dug. Takato started to tense up in both excitement and in nervousness. He slowly made his way down the hole, and once there, he blinked twice. His face automatically lit up with happiness, for he couldn't believe what he was seeing. There at the end of the tunnel was something that he thought he and the others would never see again, that made him ecstatic to tell the others…
A Gateway to the Digital World.
*Outside*
The glowing creature was happy to know that it just fulfilled the wish in the Tamer's heart. It giggled with glee as it flew away in the sky and made its way to the place where it called 'home'.

Frontiers' World *Takuya's POV*
It's been at least a few days since we arrived to this strange world, and almost everyone has been able to get their spirits, both Human and Beast type. We still need to find Zoë and Tommys' Beast spirits though. At first it was just Zoë, Tommy, J.P, and I that were traveling, but Koji soon joined in after that incident in the floating island with the toys. He was still a bit quiet, but he pretty soon opened up to us, and accepted us as friends. So far our adventures had not ended yet, even after we were so close to getting all the spirits. We ran into battles with the corrupted spirits of Earth, Water, Wood, and Steel. We've managed to defeat the Legendary Warrior of Earth Grumblemon and take both his H and B spirits, but like him, the others weren't pushovers.
Now here we are, on some secluded beach that Whamon just left us on. We didn't really mind anyway. We were just glad to get away from Cherubimon's minions. We're now camping for the night, roasting meat apples that we found on the island, and just sitting back and relaxing away ourselves for the next battle to come. That is, if there were any threats stupid enough to try and overpower us on this island. To tell you the truth, we thought that our main problems were facing that freak Cherubimon and his minions, but it would seem that he wasn't the only problem we were about to face soon.
And believe me, it was going to be wackier then we thought it would possibly be.
*End Of Takuya's POV*
******
There was one word in 14 year old Koji's mind as he gazed up at the stars of the night sky. And that word was 'beautiful'. Yes the commonly used word, but who ever cared? Certainly not him. He took another bite from his cooked meat apple. Everything's changed in his life since he came here. With his father's job and changing schools so many times, he never made any friends long enough to get to know them. But here, he's made friends that were defined his 'best' and 'truest' friends. Even if some of them were nut cases. He then watched the others who were now fast asleep.
Takuya was practically laid out on the floor, even drooling a bit and was creating a nose bubble. ~O…kay~ was the only word he could think of to that. Tommy was curled up next to him. He couldn't blame him, he obviously looks up to Takuya as an older brother, and Takuya looks to Tommy as a younger brother. Not like the both of them didn't have brothers, but they weren't here right now. J.P was snoozing away next to Neemon and Bokomon, who was sleeping sitting up since he held Seraphimon's egg in his waistband.
And finally the only female amongst the group. Zoë was sleeping soundlessly next to him, curled up into a small ball. He had a sudden urge to pull the strand of hair that fell in front of her face behind her ear. He would never admit to anyone, not even to himself, but he had grown quite fond of the blond. (a/n: hey that rhymes ^_^) He didn't know when it happened though. Maybe somewhere when she lost her H Spirit to Grumblemon. She was so sad that time, and he couldn't do anything to help. She tried to be strong, but he knew she was failing. Luckily J.P got it back for her.
Hesitantly, he reached out with his left hand, and pulled back the strand of hair. As he did that, she moved a bit. He quickly retreated his hand back, a bit scared that he woke her up, but she just turned around. Sighing in relief, he turned his attention to the open fire. He was about to reach for another meat apple, when he heard Zoë moving a bit. She was shivering, and was trying to curl up tighter so that she could get warmer. He looked at her for a moment and then took off his jacket. He laid it over her shivering body and moved her closer to the fire. She immediately stopped shaking. Koji gave a small smile and returned to getting another meat apple.
Zoë moaned and opened her eyes. She blinked once and propped herself up on her elbows. ~What time is it? ~ She wondered. She looked around and found out that it was still early, for the sun had just risen in the sky. The fire in the center was out, and sticks that held the meat apples were all over the place. Everyone else was still fast asleep as well. She sat up, and that's when she felt something fall off her back.
"Hey, this is Koji's," she whispered as realization dawned on her on who the blue jacket belonged to. She turned to the sleeping teen that was slumbering soundlessly. Koji then sneezed. Zoë stood up and walked over to him. "Poor guy. He gave up his jacket just to keep me warm, and now he's catching a cold." She took the jacket and placed it over his body. "Now let's see if I can find some breakfast for the guys." She then went into the forest in search of food.
"AACHOO!!!"
Koji groaned as he sneezed himself awake. He then noticed his blue jacket that was laid on top of him. He blinked twice, and then looked around for the Italian girl. Strange, she wasn't here. He then noticed some words sketched on the sand near him. It read:
WENT TO FIND SOME FOOD. BE BACK IN A BIT. OH, AND IF YOU'RE READING THIS KOUJI, WE'LL HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT COLD OF YOURS.
- ZOE
"Gone out to look for food huh? And what cold?" As if on cue, he gave another sneeze. "Oh, that cold." He slipped his jacket back on and began making another fire. Surely besides bringing some fruits, Zoë will probably bring some meat apples as well. Besides, he was still shivering a bit from having this cold.
There were still some more dried leaves from last night, so it looks like he didn't need to go and gather some anymore. He grabbed the two rocks that were used yesterday, and started to make some sparks. A few moments later, a warm blazing fire came to life. Koji set the rocks aside and moved closer to the burning inferno. He sneezed again.
"Wow, bless you."
"Huh?" the teen turned around and saw Kazemon gently land on the sand, (a/n: hey another rhyme) holding a fair amount of provisions. Yes there were meat apples, but mostly the foods were fresh ripe fruits. She laid them down on the leaves from last night, and turned back into Zoë. "Glad you're awake. Now help me set up the meat apples." Koji nodded and grabbed some of the sticks that she also collected. They both remained silent until Zoë decided to speak up.
"Um," she started. Koji curiously looked at her. She blushed softly. "Um, thank you Koji for the um," she cleared her throat. "Thank you for the jacket Koji. I really appreciated it." The teen turned back to what he was working on, but replied in the same uneven voice.
"You're welcome." He sneezed again on cue. He blushed when Zoë giggled.
"You know, you didn't have to give up your jacket for my sake. Now look at you, you have a cold."
"You were shivering, so I gave it to you…" he planted another meat apple through a stick. "…and I'm fine." Another sneeze came.
"You sure about that?" she asked.
"I'm fine," he replied. She sighed.
"Even though, we'll have to do something about it. Hm, maybe Bokomon knows some cures to colds."
"I said that I'm fine okay!" Koji said back, his voice getting a bit louder. Zoë stood up and gave a frown, her hands on her hips.
"I was just suggesting something Kouji! You don't have to be such a grouch. All I want is for you to be well. Is that too much to ask!" she voiced back, her tone also getting a bit louder.
"I'll say it again Zoë, I'm fine." Her face fell. Koji saw this and sighed. He patted the space next to him, and she sat down. "Look, I just don't want anyone to worry about me. We already have enough problems to deal with. We don't need another one." She shifted a bit, and scooted closer. This he noticed, but decided not to say anything. "I know, but just between you and me, whenever something bad happens to you, I confess that I worry about you the most." Koji blinked. "You do?" She looked down, blushing.
"Yeah, I tend to hide it very well so the others won't get suspicious."
"About what?"
"I guess I can't hide it anymore. To tell you the truth, I like you Koji. Even if we just knew each other for a short time, I've grown to like you very much." Now this was a surprise to the teen.
"Zoë," was the only response he made.
"I just needed to tell you that Koji. It's alright if you don't feel the same way, I don't blame you at all." She stood up and was about to walk away, when a hand grabbed her wrist. She looked back down at him, and was surprised to see a pleading look. "I never said that I felt the same way."
"W…what?" she asked blushing.
He sighed. "It's no use hiding it from you anymore since you already told me that you like me. Truth is, I like you too." He said this as he blushed as well. It was a good thing that everyone else was still asleep. They all did sleep pretty late.
"As in like, or like like?" was the question she asked. The blush on his face faded, and was replaced by a heartwarming smile.
"What do you think?" She was flustered a bit, but gave a smile back. "Just don't tell the others about this okay?"
"Why would I?" was what she replied.
"Just know that as a cover, I'll still just be my old quiet and annoying self."
"I have to agree with you being quiet, but not annoying. Only J.P and Takuya would think that I guess. Well mostly J.P." she giggled at that. "Hey meat apples are done. The others will probably wake up soon." He nodded as the both of them reached for a meat apple, and bit on them.
Zoë guess was right, for the others began to stir as well. The first ones to wake up were Takuya and Tommy, then J.P and Bokomon, and finally Neemon. They said their 'good mornings' to the two who were awake, (with J.P eyeing the two of them suspiciously, but shrugged it off) and then smelled the finished cooked meat apples and automatically dove for one. They also ate some of the fruits too. All the while, talking about on what to do next and what to do when they encounter any of Cherubimon's minions. Bokomon also said that they still needed to find Zoë and Tommy's Beast Spirits. Of course the others agreed, for it gives them an edge in fighting the other Legendary Warriors.
When everybody was done eating and relaxing, it was time to be heading out and try to find a way to get off of the island to go to the main lands. They dosed the fire out and carried any leftovers with them just in case some of them grew hungry again. As usual they all walked in silence, but not before they saw a glowing light in the distant.
"What's that?" asked J.P.
"I don't know, but it seems to be coming from that big temple over there," Takuya said, pointing to a huge structure ahead. "Let's go check it out."
With that, the others hurriedly ran into the direction of the light. What they saw once they got there made them all gasp. At the opening laid a battered Digimon. It was very beautiful, and the aura surrounding it was pure.
"Bokomon do you have any idea what kind of Digimon this is?" Zoë asked. The little white Digimon took out his book. "Well let me see. Ah here. The Digimon you see before you is Angewomon, she's an Angel type Digimon. An Ultimate level Vaccine Type. This beautiful goddess of battle gives love to the good and meets out heaven's punishment to the evil!"
"Wow what a bio," said Tommy.
"Yeah it is. The poor thing. I wonder what happened to her." Zoë walked over to her and went to the touch the Angel's shoulder. This caused the Digimon to stir. "I think she's waking up, hey are you alright?" Angewomon lifted her head up and whispered. "Hi…kari?"
And then a bright white light surrounded them.
