**Act 5, Scene 1: Half-Truths**

*Ken is center stage, but this time the stage behind him is half lit, and the Mega and the Ultimate are posed behind him. LadyDevimon is floating above, poised for attack, while WarGreymon is half sprawled in a dodge. The audience can see that he is still partially vulnerable, because LadyDevimon is hovering over the gauntlet the Prince removed to stroke the Princess' cheek*

Ken- "Prince Dragon had been abandoned by the Princess, but even though she had snubbed his efforts thus far, he was still willing to defend her against the evil queen. But the Dark Lady was wily, and already she was forming a plan..."

LadyDevi- "All alone little Prince? You fight for the empty air?"

WarGrey- "You know damn well who I fight for."

LadyDevi(releasing another attack)- "Ah, so you're heart is still smitten by the little princess? Do not look so surprised. I have watched over this realm carefully these past 16 years, should someone try to be silly enough to ruin my victory. I know how the faded memories spurred you on this quest. I know how you made your way to this room. And I know how you awakened my little sleeper.

The only thing I don't know is how *you* knew the key to the spell's undoing lied inside her. You will tell me. *Now*."

WarGrey(hurt by the last attack, gasping raggedly)- "No."

LadyDevi(enraged, shrieking)- "NO?! How dare you! What make you think you are so invulnerable? The 'love' of your little lady? You're using the wrong head if you think *that's* true!"

*Patamon(barely audible above the din of the battle)- "Boy, Tk, how many heads does a person have...?"*

*Tk(blushing heavily)- "Later, Patamon!"*

*Matt(staring in shock as Mimi blushes heavily beside him)- "Who put *that* in the script?!"*

LadyDevi- "Think carefully about the battle you've chosen. You are all alone, defending worthless stone, an empire that no longer exists! Even if you beat me, what good will come of your struggle?"

WarGrey- "If she is free, and under the protective wings of her family's love once more-even for a few seconds-then whatever price I paid is trivial."

LadyDevi- "I see.(realizing she isn't getting anywhere on that tack) So you wish to see them reunited? But darling, don't you see? They were already together!"

WarGrey(confused)- "I...I don't understand..."

LadyDevi- "As long as the Princess slept, her family slept with her. I am not as cruel as many would think. If I had not turned them to stone, do you really believe her family would have lived?"

WarGrey- "I-I assume they would."

LadyDevi(laughing)- "Don't assume life to have happy endings. No, the dear sweet Empress would have coerced her husband into arresting his own sister, then pined away, lost in grief. The Emperor's dear, sweet, gentle Advisor would have committed seppuku. And the Emperor? He would have been a broken man, widowed, childless, and nearly broke, forced to shell out for an expensive war against his ex-brother-in-law."
*Sora(tears in her eyes)- "Oh, that is so, so, sad!"*
*Tai(hopeful, leaning his head on her shoulder)- 'Doesn't it just wanna make you kiss me?" *
*Sora- *SMACK*!*
*Tai(rubbing his forehead)- "Ooww!"*
WarGrey- "If you knew all this, why *did* you turn them all to stone? Would it not have been far easier to control this land then?"
LadyDevi- "True enough. I let me anger get the better of me, I will admit to that. And the Light Queen's amendment to my spell *had* been overlooked. My bad.(smirking)
But things have not turned out as badly as I thought. Now that you've reawakened her, and now that she is exposed to her true path in life, I can turn her easily to the Darkness-while her family rots and crumbles away! All thanks to you!"
WarGrey(guilt-ridden)- "No...."

*As he ponders his role in this development, he becomes oblivious and vulnerable, a fact which the Dark Queen was waiting for. She attacks, knocking him across the floor. He feebly tries to get up, but flops down, just as the Princess flings open the door.*
Biyo(full of bravado)- "DEMON QUEEN!!" *notices her fallen hero* "What...what did you do to him?!"
LadyDevi(amused)- "What's this? The little lady have returned to her knight's side? Pity. You're too late, if you were looking for a heroic rescue. Foolish little man was so afraid of me, he passed out!"
Biyo- "Then why is he all bruised?"
LadyDevi- "Because in his madness to escape, he tried to attack me, and I was forced to defend myself."
Biyo- "I *thought* you said he fainted."
LadyDevi- 'I never said I knocked him out. (almost maternally) Now really, my dear. Isn't it time we gave up on all this nonsense? Be a good girl, and take my hand. We'll leave behind all these cold memories and forge an even greater empire!"
Biyo- 'But...but this is my family! I can't leave them!"
LadyDevi(exasperated)- "They don't understand you! Didn't they want to force you into marriage? I would *never* do that."
*The princess glances at the fallen prince, then hesitantly walks over the Demoness and reaches for her. At the last second, however, she pulls away and throws herself on top of him*
Biyo- "NO! I can't..I just can't!"
LadyDevi(disgusted)- "Have it your way. DIE, PRINCESS!"
*She tightens her grip on his fallen ally, as a tear slips down her cheek*
Biyo- "We will be with you soon, Mama."
*A brilliant light appears around her neck, and engulfs them both. Too bright for the Dark Queen, she screams and shields her eyes. It blinds the audience too. When everyone can see again, the Prince is standing, Princess in his arms. He is fully restored, and there is a gentle glow about him*
LadyDevi- "What...?!"

**Act 5, Scene 2: Battle Royale**

WarGrey- "It appears the Princess has disobeyed you yet again. I fear the only evil she appears to carry is an unwillingness to follow you."
*He places the blushing girl on the bed, and squares off against the macabre monarch*
WarGrey- "I fear you also appear to have written me off too quickly. As you can see, I'm perfectly well."
LadyDevi- "How did you...?"
WarGrey- "The Princess. Her unselfish deeds awakened the power of the pendant, given to her by the Queen of Light-the very statue that told *me* not how to break the spell directly, but how to trust my heart to know how."
Biyo(a,mazed)- "I did? I mean, she did?"
WarGrey- "Yes, you did."
LadyDevi(thoroughly incensed)- "Why...that...little..."
*She screams an inarticulate war cry and lunges at the princess. Prince Dragon steps in between, and they both go sailing over her head*
Biyo- "Go get her, Princey! Scratch her eyes out! Hit-"
*Notices the Dark Queen glaring at her and shuts up, meekly cowering behind the headboard. The queen attacks, thwarted again, this time by the pendant's light. The demoness screeches and covers her eyes, vulnerability exploited by the prince with a satisfying punch*
LadyDevi- "Curse You Both!! I *will* destroy this whole empire if it means getting rid of you!"
Biyo(braver now that she sees the dark lady is powerless against the pendant)- "I will not allow that!"
LadyDevi(sneering)- "How will you do that, little one?"
*She throws an atack behind her, hitting the Prince directly in his midsection. He is knocked out, and the two royal femme fatales are alone*
Biyo- "Prince Dragon!"
LadyDevi- "Oh, what is it little one? Has your beloved hero fallen? Guess he wasn't as powerful as you thought, hmm?"
*She unleashes a stream of dark energies at the grieving girl. The princess barely has time to blink before the pendant activates again, throwing up a shield of light. Snarling, the demon queen presses on, and the shield begins to falter*
Biyo- "Oh, she's too powerful!"
*The girl is on her knees, slowly being pressed into the ground. The last of her strength is being poured into the shield*
Biyo- "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I failed everyone. Please help me, Mother! Please help me, Auntie!"
*After she speaks, two different lights stream out of the pendant-the shades of her mother and aunt. Wordlessly, they stare defiantly at the witch, a hand clasped on the Princess' shoulders. Slowly, the shield pushes back, inch by inch, the dark energies of the Demoness*
LadyDevi- "What?! No! This can't be happening!"
*The shield presses on, and now the Queen of Darkness is the one fighting for her life. She pits her strength against the shield, but it is already too late. The sheer intensity of the light burns her, rends her apart piece by piece, till nothing remains but a ghost scream. The shades dissipate as well, leaving behind the two mortals.
Gasping, the Princess pulls herself across the floor to the Prince's still form. She collapses on his chest, sobbing*
Biyo- "Oh, my brave prince! Please forgive me! You freed me from the spell that bound me, and I repaid your kindness by abandoning you! All my life I had everything, but never knew that it was nothing without true love and true friendship! *strokes his cheek gently*
"Do not worry. I will somehow return you to your father, with the tale of your bravery and selflessness. And wherever I go, be it as Princess or Peasant, I will carry it in my heart and it will serve to remind me of what I was like."
*She leans forward to kiss his nose. Almost imperceptibly, WarGreymon is trembling. Just before her beak touches, his eyes flash open and he sits up, grasping her wings in his hands*
WarGrey- "My Princess, what nonsense is this? I was no brave knight-why, I slept while you defeated the Dark Queen!"
*Biyomon is shaken out of character for a few seconds. Off-stage, the teens look at each other in confusion, then shrug. WarGreymon must be ad-libbing...*
Biyo- "Er...My Prince! You've awakened!"
WarGrey- "Yes. And I feel rejuvenated. What happened?"
Biyo(IC)- "The pendant! The one the statue of my auntie gave me! It shielded me from the Queen, but she was too powerful! Just when I was about to give up hope, I asked my mother and aunt for help, and I believe they answered! Then BAM! I gave that ol' witch such a whomping...!"
*She catches the Prince's astonished look and blushes heavily*
Biyo- "That is, I overthrew her dark powers with the help of my family."
WarGrey(chuckling)- "I do not doubt that. Now, dear Princess, what becomes of the hero and his lady savior?"
Biyo- "What indeed?"
Tai- "Well, there's always that overdue wedding!"
*Both jump up guiltily at the voice*
Biyo(gasping)- "Father? Mother? You-you're alive again!!"
Sora- "When the Queen of Darkness was beaten, the power of the spell crumbled, And so, here we are!"
*Tears stream down her face as she opens her arms wide*
Sora- "My baby!"
Biyo(running into them)- "Mama!!"
*The stage darkens and Ken, dressed normally again, appears at the right side*
Ken- "Upon the Demoness' downfall, all her spells slipped away like shadows to the noonday sun. Slowly, people began to remember their Emperor and pledged liegence to him once more. The Queen of Light admitted to her brother her part in the tragedy, and although upset, he could not find it within him to punish her, for hadn't she also saved his daughter?
As for the Prince and Princess..."
*The scene behind him revels a lavish wedding feast behind a gauzelike curtain. The Royal families flank the newlyweds, who laugh heartily and sip champagne. The King of the FireLands leans in close to his lost memory, who is busy chatting away about the drudgeries of Egyptian palaces.
Commoner and noble alike dance in the Great Hall and in the courtyard. The three sennyo are there-one occasionally trips on his robe. The Wise Man taps his foot, then casts a disgusted look at the errand boy, who is busily scarfing as much food as possible from the buffet tables. And, in one corner of the room, a bell jar sits alone, surrounded by bright lights. Inside, a Demon Queen a scant twelve inches tall growls and pouts, unable to cast any mischief. Besides her sits a gilded note-a proper invitation*
Ken- "They were wed, and soon after the Emperor retired, passing his crown to his daughter and son-in-law. The King of Hope and Queen of Light eventually had children of their own, and they delighted in hearing the tales of their brave cousins.
As for me? I stayed on, to advise when necessary. But after spending 16 years as a statue....*Yolie and Mimi walk past him, giggling and hiding behind their fans. One of them drops a silk handkerchief. He looks back at the audience, smiling mischeiviously*...I try to run around a bit more."
*He grabs up the cloth and chases after the girls
*The scene is now of one of farewell-The newlyweds are leaving for their honeymoon. The guest all wave and shout as the Prince carries his bride to the carriage*
WarGrey- "By the way...."
Biyo- "Yes, darling?"
WarGrey- "I never *did* catch your name..."

Thank God, thank God! It's *finally* done! I do apologize for the sappyish repentance scene-I tried so hard to avoid that. Anyhoo, I hoped u liked it. Now I can get back to the GaP....well, soon anyways... (;
