Digimon Fan Fiction ❯ Take a Turn ❯ Sneaking About ( Chapter 6 )
Disclaimer: Unfortunately Taito authors haven't been given permission to have the show, or else we'd make Sora go away and have Tai and Matt together.
I never thought I'd make it all the way to Chapter 7! Thanks for those reviews, they're very encouraging. And a special thanks to KoNy The Half-Wit for writing those most encouraging reviews, and to Teti for making me write each chapter faster. If it weren't for her, I'd probably still be writing chapter 3. Also, thanks to my boyfriend, Cheetor640, for just being there and keeping me company while I write this. The last thanks it to krimsonkiller for also encouraging me a lot.
Anyway, enough with the special thanks and more into the chapter. There shall be Kenato somewhere in this later on, KoNy. *snickers* And I already know how the entire story is going to go (except for the end).
Take a Turn
... Sneaking About
I hate this feeling... a feeling of discomfort and worry. It's been 4 and a half hours. We should have heard by them now; we should have heard from them the moment they defeated Ken. However, by the looks of it, they didn't defeat Ken.
I feel lost, afraid almost of the truth that will come. The truth is inevitable, it'll come, bringing news of what's happened to my brother and the other Digidestined. Whether they're safe and just unable to contact us, held prisoners, or worse, dead in the base.
Matt shuddered at his train of thoughts, snuggling closer to his Tai. The feelings of fright and ignorance were bothering him greatly, almost unbearable. He opened his eyes, finding Izzy staring at him.
"You still up?" the blonde asked with a husky voice.
"Yeah. I'm waiting."
"I hate waiting."

"Kari..." Davis clutched the bars tightly, for a fear of passing out. His knees felt weak when he saw his friends, and he his mind raced with thoughts of happiness and fear.
"Davis! Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" her hand snaked through the bars and she softly caressed Davis' cheek. She glanced past him, and he immediately knew what she was going to ask.
"TK's... TK's..."
He couldn't bring himself to say it though; he couldn't tell Kari that her crush was dead.
"He's in the base, isn't he?"
Davis nodded solemnly, and looked away, fearful of Kari's reaction. She continued to stroke his cheek softly, causing him to look at her.
"You did you best, Davis. You did your best... Now let's get you out of here."
"Davis!" Yolei screeched as she, Palmon and Cody came back through. "You're okay! You're alive!"
After a moment of reunion between the friends came the question that ended it all.
"Where's TK?"
Of course, it was Cody who asked it. He was staring curiously at Davis, his eyes containing the small flick of hope that TK had.
"He's somewhere peaceful, Cody," the redhead said softly, staring into the green eyes of Cody. "He's at peace."
They left it at that and Kari began wondering outloud how to get Davis free.
"If you look over there, you'll see a key chain. Ken was stupid enough to leave it there," said Davis.
Kari went and fetched the keys, and when she came over, Yolei snatched them away from her and began trying various keys in the lock. After trying four keys, Davis was free. He walked calmly out of his cell, and the other three were not hiding their shock. Since when was Davis so... calm? And such a bitter calm too... Usually he would be jumping for joy to be free.
Davis noticed the surprised looks he was getting, so he spoke before they could say anything. "We should go before Ken realizes I'm gone." He adjusted his goggles on his head and began walking in the original direction Yolei had been.
"Hey look. Davis does have his goggles," Yolei pointed out.
"Well of course I have my goggles. Why wouldn't I?"
"Never mind. Long story. Let's just start walking," said Kari.
"How'd you guys escape, anyway?"
"Mimi rescued us," replied Cody.
"Mimi? Well where did she go?"
"With Ken," said Yolei.
"With Ken?! What is she crazy?" Davis shrieked. "We've got to do SOMETHING!!"
Everyone was a bit taken aback by Davis' outburst; they could understand that Ken was dangerous, but by the way Davis flipped, they wondered just how dangerous.
Kari was just about to ask that when Davis abruptly pressed forward, not leaving much of a chance for her to say anything about the issue. She gave a look at Yolei, one that showed her concern. She found Yolei with the same look.

Fear spread across her face as she entered a different room than the one she was last in. Mimi was planning to go back to the room where she saw the enormous machine and go through the foul smelling room, but on her way she noticed a small door that she could barely fit into and decided to check it out. And now here she was, making her way across a dark door room that showed no trace of lighting up.
"Maybe I should turn back," she said aloud.
It was a comfort to hear a voice, even if it was her own, and she allowed it to echo through the room. Though as soon as it was silent, another voice filled it.
"You're right. You should have turned back."
Mimi screamed as she was pinned against a wall, her hands plastered against the cold cement, being held down by the very voice that spoke. After a few moments of struggling, she froze, finding Ken's violet eyes in the darkness, almost hidden by a pair of glasses.
"What do you want?" she demanded. "Let me go!"
"Oh no, I don't think so. I definitely don't think so. I could use you, Mimi."
"Use me? For what?" She swallowed, unsure if she wanted to hear the answer. She knew Ken was staring deeply at her, and she didn't like that.
"You think I'm going to rape you, don't you?"
Mimi didn't reply and remained still.
"Don't you?" he asked, shaking her shoulders roughly.
"Y-yes," she whispered, her eyes shining with fresh tears.
"You think I'm going to shove you on the ground, rip off your close and fuck you until your as dry as hell. Right?" When she didn't reply as fast as he wanted, he shook her shoulders again. "Right?"
She was lost for words, feeling herself numb with fear.
"Answer me!"
"Y-yes! Yes I do," she sobbed, her body slouching. If he wasn't holding her against the wall, she would have fallen to the floor by now.
"Your worthless. A worthless pink haired slut. You want to be fucked by me."
"I do not!"
"Oh. You do. But you know what? I hate girls like you. I hate girls. Period. They disgust me. Especially ones like you."
He hates girls? If he hates girls wouldn't that mean... wouldn't that means he's gay?
She stopped crying, and stood upright, trying to prevent herself from sniffling.
"I got you though, Mimi. I got you."
"What do you want with me?"
"Bait. Bait, Mimi. Simple bait."
**~**
It was hard to look forward when you were stuck in the same place. In a confined room with no where to go and nothing to do but think; you'd get tired of yourself. TK was. He couldn't wait until Ken came. Though the blonde knew what that would mean, he didn't care and was only tired of being lonely. He sat on the bed with his shirt off, staring at the door, waiting for his evil lover to return. His one wrist that hurt (though he realized it wasn't sprain or broken) rested across the one knee that was brought up to his chest; he continued to wait.
Shame crossed his mind dozens of times. Shame for wanting the love, wanting the comfort that only a few hours of ago was the opposite of it; shame for being who he was.

Mimi was dragged roughly the way she came originally. Though instead of going back to the area where Kari, Yolei and Cody had been kept, they went into the bright room with the giant machine. Immediately she smelled a foul odor.
"See this machine?"
Who couldn't? "Yeah."
"Your stupid friends walked past it, without even thinking of destroying it. It's like my old base: it keeps it moving.
"How could they if they only had my digimon?"
"Palmon could have easily destroyed it. It's not that strong made," Ken replied. "It just goes to show how stupid you Digidestined really are. Honestly. You really thought you could beat me?"
"Fuck you," she spat.
Ken tugged on her hair, causing her to cry out in pain and whimper several minutes later, as Ken fiddled with a few switches on the machine. When he finished, he began walking towards a door at the end of the room, holding Mimi on the arm, but also tugging on her hair.
"Let me go!" she screamed, "Let me go!"
"The more you scream, the more I pull."
**~**
We have to find Mimi. What if Ken rapes her? I can't let Kari or Yolei know what's going on, they wouldn't understand. We have to find her.
Davis' fists were clenched and his face showing determination as he walked forward. He suddenly turned around, causing Yolei to gasp.
"Don't do that!"
"Do what?" he asked.
"You're acting weird," she said, glancing at Kari for support. "You're scaring us..."
Davis' face softened and he looked each of his friend's in the eye. "I'm sorry guys. I've been locked up in that cage all night and--"
He stopped himself to prevent himself from spilling anything else. "Where are our digimon? There's Palmon, but don't we need ours?"
"We're not sure," Cody replied. "Hopefully Ken hasn't captured them too."
"Damn, couldn't you have at least kept an eye on them?" Davis asked. "I'm stuck in a jail practically while you've been free."
The three Digidestined and Palmon stared at Davis with a mixture of shock and anger on their faces.
"Davis, I can't believe you're being so selfish!"
"Selfish?" he asked Kari.
"Yes, selfish. We just got out and Mimi actually sacrificed herself so we could keep going and now you're complaining? What's your problem, anyway? You've been acting weird ever since you we rescued you."
Kari said it in such a tone that Davis frowned sheepishly, turning his attention to Yolei.
"Can you give us a minute?"
"I guess," she said, turning to Palmon and Cody, urging them to walk in the direction they were heading in.
Once they were a little ways away, Kari turned her attention back to Davis. "Well? I want to know what's bugging you."
Davis sighed. "A lot, Kari... a lot. I just wish... I wish we never came on this stupid mission. It fucked us all up."
"Don't swear... it scares me hearing it from you."
"Sorry. It's just TK... Kari, he's dead and it's all my fault," he whispered, not wanting his voice to crack.
"Oh Davis," she said, wiping a tear from her eye.
Davis wrapped his arms arms around her as she cried softly in his arms. "Shh, it'll be okay. I-I just didn't want this to happen."
"It's not your fault," she said, pulling away. She quipped her eyes and tugged on his arms to start walking.
"Hey guys!" called Yolei. "We're outside!"
"What?" Kari asked, beginning to run. "Oh my gosh, it's true!"
Davis followed in suit, finally able to see light again. Although he was only in that cell for the night, it was a wonderful thing to see the light after there was so much darkness.

Mimi whimpered in pain as she was dragged along by an arm and her hair, and still attempting to keep up with Ken's quick pace in that awful position. Tears were falling silently down her cheeks and she wished more than anything Palmon were here.
Oh please have let them escape and get help... please... I don't know how much more I can take.
They were now in a long tunnel-type place with lots of jail like cells on either side of them. As they walked, Mimi grew tired and anxious. She wanted to know where Ken was taking her and what he planned to do, but she also wanted to sleep more than anything. Her feet were sore, as well as many other parts of her body, namely her scalp.
Palmon, I need you. Please save me. I need the other Digidestined too.
She fought back more tears that threatened to spill as the pair silently made their way down the corridor.
**~**
The four Digidestined and Palmon stood on the edge of a small cliff that overlooked a view of the direction they were moving from. Taking fresh gulps of air, each let the breeze run over their faces and body; all glad to be free of the dim darkness that was found in the base.
"I'm so happy to be out," Yolei murmured.
"Me too. if only Mimi were here to enjoy it with us," stated Cody.
Neither Kari or Davis said anything, each in their own train of thoughts about different things (mainly TK and Mimi).
"Now how are we going to get down?" Yolei asked, overlooking the cliff.
"That's why it would help if we did have our digimon, you know."
"Davis, would you--"
"Yolei," Kari said, putting a finger to her lips. She just wanted to enjoy the peace while it was there.
"Too bad Mimi wasn't here. Than Palmon would be able to digivolve," Yolei said. "Then we'd be able to go back to the real world and relax for a while and come up with a better plan."
"I dread going back more than staying here." With those words, Davis turned back into the darkness of the cave. "Ken, I know you're there," he growled.
"It's surprising how much you learn in one night," he said, approaching them. In his hand was Mimi's arm and in the other was her hair.
"Mimi!" Yolei cried out.
"Ken, you hand Mimi back over to us now!" Kari shouted angrily, her small fists clenched.
Davis didn't say anything, just stared deeply into Ken's eyes. "If I give myself back to you, you let these guys go."
Mimi's eyes widened and began screaming, "No! No, I won't let you do it, Davis! You can't give yourself back to him! It's not fair!"
Davis' gaze was still with Ken's, almost in an attempt to read his mind. "How about it?"
"Davis, no!"
"Davis, I agree with Mimi," Kari said quietly. She looked up at Mimi, giving a weak smile.
Davis was still not paying attention to them. "Well Ken? How about it?" He walked over to Ken, touching his arm softly, but only a brief touch to not make it obvious in front of the others. However, Mimi was not fooled.
"No! Davis, you can't do this! Don't, please! I can handle it!"
END OF CHAPTER
Evil for ending the chapter here? I would think so. And no, this won't be Daikari or anything like that; I mean they're just getting closer because of all the trauma. More to come! ^_^
