Take a Turn
... Good lies

They edged closer and closer, and yet, the base seemed so far away. Tai was growing impatient, and Izzy and Kari could both tell, so they made sure they kept silent. Tai was known to blow his temper when he was under stress.

"Ken better have not hurt him."

Izzy and Kari shot a glance at each other, wondering who was going to respond to that. Kari ended up being the lucky girl.

"Ken won't. Like we said before, Matt's tough."

"And like I said before, Matt's unstable."

"Tai, listen to me: you have to be strong. Matt's going to get hurt if you aren't thinking clearly."

Tai sighed, looking at his sister. He knew she was right, but his mind wouldn't accept it and his heart wouldn't give up the feeling of pain.

It was only moments later when Ken got dressed and left the room. Matt was on the brink of sleeping, but when TK began hissing at him, his eyes shot open and he remembered his beaten up brother laying on the cold stone floor. He quickly pulled on a pair of boxers he found and rushed to TK's side.

"Oh God, TK. Are you okay?!"

"Yeah," he croaked in reply. "I just... it hurts so bad."

"TK, please don't leave me. Stay conscious! I'll get us out if I have to dig outta here."

TK attempted to laugh, instead, gasped when it hurt. Matt smiled weakly and ran a finger over his brother's bruised semi-open eye.

"I'll get back at him. He will pay for what he did to you," Matt muttered standing up.

"No. Revenge is what started this," TK whispered, his voice cracking.

"Stop talking. You'll only bring more pain to yourself. Now how can we get out of here?"

"Matt--"

"TK, I told you to stop talking. Let me figure out how to get out of here."

"But Matt--"

"TK, stop."

"I see a way out!" TK exclaimed.

"Huh? Where?"

"Just look at the door," TK whispered.

Matt looked up, noticing the door was slightly ajar. He walked over and opened it easily. "This is a set-up. He wants us to escape."

TK stared blankly at him. He probably would have shrugged if it wasn't for the fact that he was in constant pain.

Matt considered an alternative. They could just stay in there until Tai and the others came to rescue him, since it was so obvious that they would try. But time was also running short for TK. He needed a hospital fast. If this was all a set-up, would Ken just be waiting down the hallway for them to come, giving him another reason to "punish" them? Why else would the door been left open?

The eldest blonde sighed, glancing at TK once more. He frowned when he looked at the state his brother was in and a small feeling of guilt sunk in his stomach. There wasn't any other ideas about the situation coming to mind, so sighing once more, he gathered up all of his strength and gently picked up TK.

TK whimpered and leaned into his brother, burying his head into his chest. He wasn't sure if she should let Matt take him out of the room. So far, that has only led them both into pain. They seemed to be doing a lot of running, in TK's opinion. Running here, running there, only because Ken threatened them.

Pushing the door open with his feet, Matt walked out slowly, looking left and right. He wasn't sure which way to run, both seemed the same either way. Going right was his decision and he made his way through the dim hallway, unsure where he was going. He already bet Ken them tracked on his screen and was making his way to them right now. He pushed the thoughts aside, though, and concentrated on TK instead. Carrying his little brother was no easy task; he wasn't nearly as strong as Tai. Tai. God he felt guilty for betraying his beloved. It wasn't like he had planned to be in this situation, and he never wanted to rape Ken, but at the moment, it seemed like the only thing to do.

"M-Matt... I'm sorry."

"You're not losing air, are you?!"

"No," he said ruggedly, "I'll be fine. I'm just sorry for putting you through all of this. It's all my fault."

"No it's not! don't say that! It's all Ken's fault," Matt said. He was about to continue when he saw something that startled him, yet made him smile. "Look! We're free!"

It suddenly hit him. It had to be another set-up. But then again, so far nothing had happened with the door being opened either. Maybe Ken was just being careless.

Matt set TK down near the opening. It was a giant hole in the floor and below, he could see the desert sands. There was a rope right beside it and though Matt could just feel it, that it was just some sort of weird set-up; it was just too good to be true.

He tied the rope to a small notch on the edge of the floor and threw the bunched up rest of it over the edge. He made sure it was secure one more time before lowering himself down.

"TK, I want you to come here. I can hold you if you lower yourself down, just make sure you try holding the rope, 'kay?"

TK nodded and weakly lowered himself down. Twice he almost let go of the rope before becoming secure in Matt's arms as he slowly slid down the rope inch by inch. They were half way down the rope when it suddenly jerked, almost making Matt let go. He looked up, gasping at what he saw.

Ken was kneeling on the floor inside the base, tugging on the rope. He began to sway it back and forth, causing Matt and TK to begin rock back and forth as well.

"M-Matt!"

Matt tried holding onto TK as best as he could, but he could feel himself letting go. Ken was getting what he wanted: for Matt and TK to let go of the rope and fall to their deaths. If they fell, it would be a long way down... A little too far to either's liking.

"TK, I'm going to keep sliding down, but quicker."

"He's going to kill us! I know it!"

Matt noted how panicky TK was and decided to ignore it. Where was his brother's hope when you needed it? He began to slid down a few more inches, giving him a rope burn. The swaying stopped, which Matt and TK took advantage too and quickly began climbing down. They were so close to the bottom -- only about twenty more feet to go! -- when TK began freaking out again.

"He's untying the rope!"

"What?!"

Matt didn't bother looking up to see if it was true because they kept jerking down, which gave him the idea Ken was untying it. The rope gave one last jerk before untying and falling. The two brothers let go of the rope and began to fall, and they found it true, that you do see images of your life before your death.

It all happened in a blur. The wind was rushing past Matt's ears and he vaguely wondered if he and TK were both going to die, or if one of them was going to live. He thought of Tai; about how they never really got a chance to try out their relationship. He loved him more than anything; loved the way he could always count on Tai, though he wouldn't get much of that anymore since he was about to die; he loved Tai's looks, even if that hair of his was a bit unruly; and he even loved how Tai would call his name no matter where they were, even if it got the public around them annoyed. Heck, he could have sworn he heard Tai calling his name now.

His body landed with a thump and he wondered if he was dead. Opening his eyes felt like hell, so he figured he probably was in it.

"Is that Matt hanging from there?" Yolei asked.

"Oh my God! It is!" Mimi screeched, beginning to run towards the direction he was in.

Davis, Yolei and Cody followed in suite, each wondering if that was another person he was hanging with.

**~**

His head wasn't supposed to hit the van window, but it did as the vehicle sped down the highway. Matt's eyes fluttered open when this happened and he glanced around at his surroundings. The first thing he felt was a burning sensation his back, making him realize he was alive and didn't die. But maybe being dead was better than the pain he felt in his back!

"Matt, you awake?" a soothing voice asked. He immediately knew who it was.

"Yeah... Tai, where's TK?"

"He's in the back being taken care of by Davis and Mimi."

"Is he okay?"

"You'll be fine. Now get some rest."

"Tai, answer me! Is he okay?"

"He's... he's still unconscious. We're on our way to the hospital now."

Matt whimpered and shut his eyes once more, shifting his head from where it was on Tai's lap. The rest of his body was laying on two other people, but he didn't exactly know who the other two were. It didn't really matter though, all he wanted was for TK to be safe and healthy.

With worried thoughts, Matt went unconscious again.

**~**

When he awoke again, they weren't driving anymore. He sat up, cursing along the way because of his back and had a look around. Peering over the seat, he found TK laying unconscious with Davis sitting next to him, stroking his face gently. Matt watched for a moment as Davis continued to caress his brother's cheek; he watched until Davis looked up slightly startled and blushing deep crimson.

"Hey... I didn't know you were up."

"Apparently not. Where's everyone else?"

"We're filling up on gas and the others are stretching. We almost ran out of gas, you know," Davis explained.

"Oh." Matt leaned back involuntary and gave an unexpected yelp.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he replied quickly. He didn't really want the others to know about his back.

Davis eyed him suspiciously but let it drop. What really pestered his mind was what happened to Matt and TK when they were with Ken? Did the same things happen like they did to him? Did Ken sleep with them too? Davis frowned at the thought, kinda of put off. In some small space in the back of his mind, Ken was his. He still had his feelings towards TK, but they seemed to be different then those for Ken. He was lusting for one and loving the other.

Davis never got his chance to ask Matt because the van door opened, revealing a smiling Tai.

"You're up!"

Matt nodded slowly, looking past him towards his father. He did not look pleased.

"Yamato, out of the car."

Matt gulped at the mention of his full name. he slid out, careful not to rub his back against the vehicle and walked over to his father.

"What happened to TK?" he demanded, trying to keep his voice low to prevent the others from hearing.

"I didn't mean for it to happen. We wondered away--"

"Matt, I know you were in the Digital World. Tai and Izzy told me everything."

"They did?"

"Yes." He moved closer to Matt. "Why is the bum of TK's pants bloody?"

"I... uh..."

"Matt, why? Give me an answer. Now."

"Dad, he... things have been going on..."

"Did you rape him?"

"WHAT?!" Matt exploded. He looked back at the stunned group of Digidestined, who all wondered why Matt just freaked out. He lowered his voice, saying, "You can't think that. I would never do that to him. Dad, that's just... just... insane!"

"Well what other reason is there, Matt? My two sons come through the lap top unconscious and what do I find? TK beaten rapidly!"

"I would never do that! Ever! How dare you accuse me--"

"Matt you're in a rock band and I know that you aren't always an angel."

"I would never do that to TK. Ken Ichijouji did!"

"The genius that ran away? Stop lying. Give me your digivice."

"What? No way! I need that."

"Matt, give it to me right now."

He scowled as he handed his father his digivice, wondering how he was going to get to the Digital World to defeat Ken once and for all.

"Now go to the van."

Matt shook his head at his father and abruptly turned around, storming to the van. Everyone who was getting in got out of his way, and Matt got in and scrunched himself next to the window, trying to be as small as possible. Kari got in the back with Mimi, Davis, and TK while Tai and Cody sat next to Matt. Izzy was sitting in the front next to Mr. Ishida.

During the course of the rest of the ride, Tai tried talking to Matt and touched his arm. "Go away, Tai," he had snapped back, turning his gaze back to the scenery.

For the remainder of the ride, the van was silent. The only person who made an attempt to cheer anyone up was Kari, and usually the girl could succeed, but everyone was in a gloomy state. Not only did Matt get in trouble for something he couldn't have prevented, but they lost the battle to Ken.

**~**

TK opened his eyes and the first thing he noticed were two police officers standing in the corner of the room. His eyes grew wide, wondering where he was.

"TK, you're awake!"

TK sighed in relief at seeing a familiar face staring down at him. "Hi Davis," he croaked, trying to clear his throat.

"Shh. Don't speak, 'kay?"

"W-where... am I?"

"In the hospital."

He suddenly remembered about everything that happened. How a pile of boxes fell on him; how he had slept with Ken twice, and one of the times not against his free will; how Matt had tried saving him, but ended up getting hurt too; how Ken had beaten him; how Matt had gotten them out of there and onto the rope... Where was Matt?

"Davis! Where's he?" he cried out. "Where's Matt?" He hissed at the pain that went through his body when he asked, but he needed to know.

"Calm down. Matt's fine. If it wasn't for our digimon, you guys would be pancakes."

TK sighed in relief, looking at the two cops again. He stared at Davis in the eyes and nodded his head towards them.

Davis stared blankly at him at first, but then caught on to what he was saying. "TK, you were--"

"Davis, go."

TK looked past him to see Matt, his father, and his mother standing in the doorway. Davis gave a small smile at the blonde before rushing out of the room and shutting the door behind him.

"My baby," Ms. Takaishi cried out, running towards TK. She hugged him softly.

"Mom, don't." TK asked, "Matt, you okay?"

Matt didn't say anything; his eyes were a bit puffy and he had dark circles under his eyes. The morning sun showed that.

"TK... we know what happened," Mr. Ishida said slowly.

"You told them?" TK asked, looking a bit puzzled at Matt.

"Yeah. TK, they don't believe me. You have to tell them about the incident that happened on our walk."

"Our walk," TK said slowly. He felt a bit confused. What was Matt talking about? Then it hit him. Something wasn't right. From the way his father was holding Matt's collar to the way his mother kept petting his hair; he had to think of something fast. "Did you tell them about me?"

"No," Matt replied.

"I guess you guys should know that I'm bi..." He glanced up, looking at his mother. "I know I'm young but I realized that a little while ago."

Even Matt was a little shocked to hear that coming from his brother, but didn't say anything.

"I went to the Digital World with the others the other day to visit our digimon. But really, I was excited because Matt helped me make plans to meet a secret boyfriend of mine. That's why we weren't with the others. It turned out this guy wasn't so nice and--" TK, smart enough, made his eyes water "--he took advantage of me. Matt tried to stop him, but couldn't."

Matt had to admit, that was a pretty good lie. Even his father seemed to be buying it because his pressure on Matt's collar was deceasing.

"Oh honey, I'm so sorry." Ms. Takaishi pulled TK into a hug.

"Hold on a second. Then why did everyone come back from the Digital World when it was only the other kids going off to look for you on that walk?"

TK really had no idea about this 'walk' but tried his best to answer, "He began beating me up and Matt screamed and the others came and we all went into the Digital World to escape him."

Mr. Ishida nodded and turned to Matt. "What was all of that about Ken Ichijouji?"

"Nothing sir. I was just looking for someone to blame." After a moment Matt looked back at his father. "Can I have my digivice?"

"No. You're not getting it back. Ever."

I would like it if I got some feedback, please.
