Chapter 3 Nurse Kouji
A/N: I'm gonna try to make this chapter and the others
shorter. I may have to cut out some parts of the
story to do this.
Living in Japan becomes great. Until I get sick.
I'm in bed with a bad cold. I got it trying to get
home fast enough because of the rain yesterday.
The stupid weather man predicted the weather
wrong. Takashi san is gonna make me a big bowl
of chicken soup later. Takuya san had called
earlier. He wondered why I hadn't been to school
today. Takashi san told him I'm sick with a cold.
Takuya san had said he'd be by tomorrow to check
up on me. He couldn't today 'cause he had soccer
practice. I try to sleep but my throat is killing me, so
I just close my eyes and rest. A few moments later,
my bedroom door is opened. I hear quiet
footststeps walk up to me and sit something down
on the floor. I hear water splashing. I figure it's
Takashi san as I settle into my futon. Soon, I feel
someone dab a cool, moist washcloth across my
forehead. I slightly open my eyes. I see soft ocean
blue eyes looking at me kindly. Kouji san? Taking
care of? He smiles as he continues to take care
of me. My heart beats faster. He has such a
beautiful smile. Everything about him is beautiful.
"Kouji san," I say in my croaky voice. "What are---
you? "Shhh", he hushes and rinses out the cloth
in a silver bowl I had noticed eariler. He dabs the
cool cloth across my forehead again as I wonder
why he's here to begin with. The way he's always
staring at me, I had thought he didn't like me. It
doesn't matter now though. The fact that he's at my
house taking care of me proves that he DOES like
me. After a few minutes, Kouji san puts the
washcloth in the bowl and starts to get up, but I
stop him by grabing his arm. "Please don't leave
yet," I say in a raspy voice. He smiles and says in a
soft voice: "I'll be back,Yorande san. Just rest."
Then he quietly leaves the room. I take his advice
and rest. I never knew he could be so gentle. He's
a loner, despite the fact that he's got friends. He
still mostly likes to be on his own sometimes. I
never want to leave Japan whenever I have to
because I made some really nice friends. Kouji san
comes back as soon as Takashi san had given me
my soup later. I eat as I talk to him. His voice is so
soothing. Soon, I'm finished and the bowl is off to
the side of my futon. By the time I finish talking to
Kouji san, it's late. Before he leaves and before I
fall asleep, I hear him whisper: "I'm glad I met you."
Then I dose off to sleep, dreaming about his
wonderful smile.
Awww! Gotta love Kouji!
