Chapter 18: Only Trying to Help

By KellyQ

Kouji looked down not wanting to see the pain in Mrs. Right's eyes as Takuya looked worried ... did something happen? Was that the reason why the vibes where that bad around the apartment? Mrs. Right said that he didn't do anything wrong but it still felt like he did something wrong. Well in a way he did ... but he was just trying to protect himself from getting hurt.

"Mrs. Right, I'm sorry for what I said before … I didn't really mean for what I said."

Mrs. Right let out a sigh …

"I know how much the two of you love each other. I just want you two to know is that I care about you two as if you where really my own children … I try not to get in the way … but I just feel that we're not really a family …"

Silence filled the room. Now both boys felt really guilty. They didn't see it that way. Finally, Kouji broke the silence …

"I .. I had no idea you felt that strongly …"

"Of course I do," Mrs. Right said taking both of their hands and squeezing them gently, "and I'm not doing any of this on preppies … all I want is the best for you too, that's all."

"Then stay home until Kouji-chan is better?"

"Well, after the evanesce of today … I guess you can stay home … now it's off to bed with you two."

"Sleep with Kouji-chan tonight?"

"Sorry. Not until he's better …"

"But ---"

"I happen to agree with Mrs. Right," Kouji said rubbing his koi's leg, "and I don't want you to get my bug."

Takuya looked a little hurt as he got up and walked to his room closing the door behind him causing the dark haired boy to sigh. He knew that it was hard having to do this to his koi when would have his koi sleep with him.

Mrs. Right slowly walked in after she knocked on the door to see that Takuya had pulled the blanket over his head. Sitting down on the bed she put her hand on the middle of the lump …

"Takuya, I know you think it's not fair but Kouji really loves you and doesn't want you to get hurt or sick …"

"I know," came a muffled voice from under the covers, "think my love is not good enough … don't try hard enough …"

"Come on, Takuya," Mrs. Right said rubbing the lump, "you know as well as I do that none of those things aren't really true … Kouji doesn't like doing this anymore than you do but he doing this so you don't get sick …"

"Want to have turn to take care of Kouji-chan … will not let me …" Came another muffled voice that sounded sad raspy.

This caused Mrs. Right to sigh, Kouji, this isn't really a good way to go with this …

Walking into the living room, Mrs. Right noticed that Kouji was deep in thought. Finally after a moment, she broke the silence.

"Kouji, I know you think that keeping Takuya away until you got better is a good idea … but your really hurting him. He needs you, he needs to know that his love is worth something …."

"I know …"

He paused for one moment letting out a strong sneeze and coughed. Knowing what was going to happen, Mrs. Right grabbed the pan and put it on the dark haired boy's lap putting her hand on his forehead as he threw up. The pain in his chest caused tears to come down his face and his throat was raw. Taking a napkin, Mrs. Right whipped his face and took the pan into the kitchen to clean it up.

Takuya shifted under the covers hearing his koi throwing up. Even though it was the most unpleasant sound it pained him to know that his koi wouldn't let him help take care of him. Takuya always aloud Kouji to take care of him whenever he got sick so why wouldn't it be any different? Could what Mrs. Right said be the reason? It does make sense since Kouji was sick … and Kouji did things with a reason.
