[ P - Pre-Teen ]

The next day, mostly everyone was recovered from Joe and Ken's death.

They all woke up and stretched in the warm morning sun. They drank the rest of their first soda and stood up.

Yolei packed up all the rest of the sodas in the vending machine and put them in a basket Hawkmon helped her make.

And then they set off, once again, to Phoenix Island.

“So, how far are we from Phoenix Island?” T.K exhaustedly moaned.

The sun had gotten awfully hot since they set off.

“Not far.” replied Willis in a cheery voice. “All we gotta do now is jump onto the boat and off we go!”

“That's a relief.” Mimi sighed.

While everyone else was looking forward and walking like zombies, Mimi secretly studied Matt's profile.

Cute, cool, oh look at those muscles!, she thought as she silently giggled.

What came across them next was a desert. And the sun was still shining brightly.

“Oh no!” Yolei moaned. “All the sodas are warm!”

“That might be a problem.” Davis said, holding a finger up.

Sora bit her lip. “Let's just keep our spirits up.” she said, sounding unsure that it would work.

“Yeah, the boat'll probably be across this desert.” Matt boredly said.

He's so cute! Sora thought to herself blushing.

So, they continued to walk across the desert. Both Sora and Mimi thinking about Matt.

Out of nowhere, Sora pulled Matt and herself away from the others. Matt didn't say anything, but was confused.

“Matt,” Sora dreamily said, her eyes looking deeply into his as in some sort of trance. “Do you love me?”

Matt gulped. What am I s'posed to do?? He urgently thought.

“Umm,” Matt muttered, thinking of something to say. “Well, I don't know. I mean, I like you and all, but I'm not sure if I love you yet.”

Sora's eyes lost their stare. She sadly moved her head left, looking at the sand.

“Yet.” she said, smiling slightly. “Yet.”

She walked next to him, and said, “I'm always here for the time.” Then she walked back to the group.

Matt exhaled. I should've said yes. I should've comforted her, he angrily thought. He ran back to the group and pushed Tai in the sand.

Mimi walked to Sora. “Are you alright?” she worriedly asked.

“I've been hurt.” Sora sadly replied, looking at the dirt. “Matt said he doesn't love me.”

Mimi was alarmed. Matt?! You're trying to steal my guy?!

She forced a smile on her face. “That's alright. I-I'm sure he'll like you, someday.”

“Hey, what were you doing with Sora back there?” Tai asked Matt walking backwards in front of him.

There was a pause, and then Matt blankly said, “She said she loved me.”

Tai's eyes widely. He looked back at the sand. Sora?! Sora likes a jerk like you?!

“Uh, Tai?” Matt laughed. He knocked on Tai's skull.

“Guys, look!” Willis screamed, pointing a trembling finger at something up ahead.

There, standing on top of a sand hill, was a man in flames. He opened his mouth wide and spit out a ball of fire.

“You're the expert, Izzy. What've we got now?!” Tai yelled quickly backing away like everyone else.

“That's Meramon, the Pyro-human. He's usually very nice and friendly.” Izzy said reading the information on his laptop very quickly.

Tai's Digivice glowed. He held it in his hand then pointed it to Agumon.

“Agumon, Digivolve!” he hollered.

“Agumon Digivolve to… Greymon!”

Agumon was wearing what looked like a helmet and had three horns on his head. He was a lot taller too.

“Nova Blast!” Greymon said loudly.

A huge fireball shot at Meramon's fireball and demolished it. Meramon jumped down to the right and dashed at them.

“Quick Greymon, attack!” Tai screamed keeping his eyes fixed on Meramon.

Meramon ran at Greymon and they wrestled each other. The Digidestinds cheered for Greymon as he threw Meramon down and shot another Nova Blast at him.

“Woohoo, go Greymon!” Davis cheered, putting a fist in the air. Yolei was so happy, she hugged Davis very tightly.

Meramon got up.

“My apologies. I am only protecting my village from bad Digimon.” he said in a low voice as he bowed.

“Bad Digimon?” Willis exclaimed and ran up to Meramon. “You mean a big hairy monster with a cap on his head?”

Meramon thought for a while and then said.

“He came here and wrecked our village. I'm the strongest one out of all the Yokomon, so I was the one who was supposed to protect our village.” He said nodding.

“He's probably still heading towards Phoenix Island.” Kari said to Willis.

Willis nodded. “You're right.” he said seriously but still in a babyish voice. Then he smiled, and jumped up, punching the air.

“Let's head to Phoenix Island!” he exclaimed happily.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I was spending most of my time surfing around the Naruto section. Anyway, I hope you like it so far!
