Chapter 9: New Moon

I know I know I haven't updated in ages ^^' I had misplaced my story book and I couldn't find it until a pink lemonade can exploded in my backpack (how does a drink in a can that ISN'T carbonated explode?) so I had to take everything out and voila! My notebook appeared, I also found that I have a story in almost every notebook that I own so expect some new stories to pop up in the future! ^-^ and on with the show!! NOTE: yes I know that Inu-Yasha turns human at sunset-sunrise, but for the purpose of my story he will change for an entire 24 hours-midnight to midnight wow…I started typing this up earlier in the summer and then things got hectic and I kind of forgot about it ^^' Gomen! This chapter has been rewritten at least five times by now because I didn't like how it was turning out. I still don't know if its right yet…

 

 

Inu-Yasha and Goku reached the house at the same time and went inside.

 

“There you are! What took so long? I thought you were just going to look for Goku?!?” shouted Kagome.

 

“Sessho-Maru attacked us, Inu-Yasha took care of him though” replied Goku. “Why so worried?” Kagome turned to Inu-Yasha “Some of us remember what day of the month it is…” she said quiet enough that he only heard it with his heightened hanyou senses. Inu-Yasha's ears drooped and he looked away to the side.

 

“All by himself?” asked Miroku who was sitting on the couch across the room.

 

“Feh”

 

“Is he gone for good?” asked Sango.

 

“No, Goku stopped me.”

 

Kagome turned to Goku “Why? He's going to come back stronger now”

 

“Feh, I doubt that” said Inu-Yasha “Pack up your things, we're leaving”

 

“What?!?” cried out everyone.

 

“He's right, that demon knows where we are now” said Goku “What was his name again? Sesshy-Fluffy-Tail?”

 

Kagome laughed “That's our nick name for him; his real name is Sessho-Maru”

 

“Well now he's just `Sesshy', I cut off his tail while fighting” said Inu-Yasha

 

“How could you get that close? He's so fast…” said Miroku. Inu-Yasha was suddenly in front of Miroku by the couch and no one saw him move “like that” he said calmly before sitting down. Miroku shot up from the couch and scrambled away. “How the hell did you do that?!?”

 

“Training, look its not that big of a deal so stop acting like he grew another arm or something” Kagome walked over to Inu-Yasha “Just take a look at his arm!” the saiyan armor was skin tight so everyone could plainly see how well built he was <That's strange> she thought <there is an aura around Inu-Yasha that's almost like Goku's…> Kagome saw that one of the sleeves was tinted red and lifted the fabric to show a cut “Inu-Yasha you're hurt!” “Sessho-Maru got me with his venom claws, nothing to worry about” Inu-Yasha angrily shrugged off Kagome and went to his room. Kagome stormed in after him.

 

“What the hell is the matter with you? You finally were able to defeat Sessho-Maru and you only got a scratch! Why are you so angry?”

 

Inu-Yasha turned around “Tonight's the new moon, I become human…would I still have my Saiyan strength?”

 

“…That has nothing to do with this, stop changing the subject” Kagome closed the door and walked over to Inu-Yasha and put a hand on his cheek “What's bothering you?”

 

“Nothing, I'm fine now” Inu-Yasha bent down and kissed her lightly “see?” Kagome searched his golden pools for a hint of a lie. Finding none she smiled playfully and tugged his locks of hair pulling him in for another kiss. Inu-Yasha welcomed it and pressed her to him. Then Kagome abruptly pulled away with a sparkle in her eye.

 

~in the living room~

 

“What was that all about?” asked Miroku.

 

“I dunno, he left in kind of a hurry” replied Sango

 

~back with Inu-Yasha and Kagome~

 

“While you were training, I went exploring and found something that I think you would like” she took him by the hand and led him outside. It was very dark so that even with his hanyou senses he could barely make out land marks. Kagome expected this and pulled a flashlight out of her pocket.

 

“You planned this?” asked Inu-Yasha. Kagome walked faster “I sensed something was wrong so I thought this would help” she stopped in front of a bunch of reeds with steam coming up behind it. She pulled aside a section to reveal the natural hot spring. There were fireflies around it and a sand bar in the middle of the spring. She smiled and pulled him through the reeds and sat down to take off her socks and shoes. Inu-Yasha watched with glee as she started undressing and pouted when he saw her swimsuit.

 

“You really did plan this didn't you?” said Inu-Yasha in a mock depressed voice. Kagome smiled and pulled out a pair of red swimming trunks from behind a bush. Inu-Yasha laughed “Alright I'll go change, don't go in without me.” “I won't” Inu-Yasha stepped behind the reeds again and changed to his swim trunks quickly. He piled up his clothes beside Kagome's and stepped back through. Kagome smiled and bent up to kiss him. After kissing for a while Inu-Yasha pulled away and led Kagome into the hot spring.

 

“This is hot! Why do you like this water so much Kagome?”

 

“If you wait a while you'll see.” Kagome said mischievously before dunking Inu-Yasha into the water. He came up sputtering and spitting out water

 

“You're going to regret that!” Inu-Yasha said smiling and lunged at her knocking her down under water. The force made him fall too and they came up together laughing “Ahhh…after you get used to it, this water isn't half bad.” Said Inu-Yasha

 

“Race you to the sand bar!” Kagome took off swimming towards the sand. Inu-Yasha easily caught up but deliberately let her win. She came out of the water breathing hard and not paying attention “I win” she said before collapsing on the sand. Inu-Yasha walked out of the water and laid down beside her, propping him self up on his elbow.

 

“Its getting close to midnight, I won't be demon to protect you.”

 

Kagome reached up and felt his hard arm muscles “You don't need to be hanyou to protect me” she said running her hand up his arm tracing the muscles. Her touch shot tingles of sensation through Inu-Yasha's body and he began thinking of things other than talking. He leaned over and kissed Kagome lightly, prodding with his tongue until she let him in. He felt the roof of her mouth and then pulled her into his mouth. She timidly explored with her own tongue until they had to pull away for air. Inu-Yasha looked down at her dark eyes and in the dim light he could see her blushing. She met his gaze before gently pushing him off so she could sit up. They both sat and when Inu-Yasha put his arm around Kagome she leaned into him and they cuddled together on the warm sand bank.

Kagome tilted her head so she could see Inu-Yasha's face. At that moment it turned midnight and she watched as his silver hair darkened into black and when he turned to look at her his amber eyes were replaced with eyes that were a deep violet. Then she gasped and pulled away, his hair receding into his skull! It stopped when it got to the length of his bangs all around. He still looked the same from the front but no longer had the curtain of hair behind him. “What's wrong Kagome?” she said nothing and just pointed to his head and he reached with his hand and felt the lack of hair “What the fuck?!?” he leapt up and went to the water's edge to look at his reflection “This never happened before…” Kagome looked over and let out a small yelp, he had a tail!

 

“umm…Inu-Yasha…” she walked up behind him putting a hand on his shoulder

 

“Feel any different?”

 

“What do you mean? So my hair is shorter…” Kagome watched the tail flicking from side to side <how does he not notice it!> she reached out and grabbed the tail and Inu-Yasha spun around

 

“What the?!?” he brought the tail in front of him so he could see it and stared like it was some sort of alien, which it was.

 

“I think we should go back to the house and see if Goku knows anything about this” said Kagome helpfully

 

“Feh, didn't Goku say he had to remove his tail before coming to this time? Its probably something with the saiyan blood and since I don't have the demon in me right now the saiyan blood is dominating over my human blood.” He paused and created a yellow energy ball in his hand

 

“This is so much easier to do now, and I can control it better” he threw it and using hand motions kept it from hitting trees and it sped around in patterns creating a light show for them in the night. Kagome sat mesmerized at the sight and turned to look at Inu-Yasha who was smiling while playing around with the Ki.

 

“Why the shortened hair though?” Inu-Yasha broke out of his trance and shot the Ki into the sky

 

“I don't know” he replied.

 

“Well I think it looks great, come on, lets just enjoy the water” After taking one last look at the stranger in the water he jumped in pulling Kagome in afterwards. She yelped and splashed him. They went into a splashing fight and stopped when Kagome slipped on a rock and went under water. They both went back to the sand bank and sat holding hands while watching the sunrise.

A/N: I'm sorry for the long await in updating. The internet has been taken off of my computer so I have to type these and take them to another computer to upload them ^^' I'm going to be gone the last week of August I will be away on a CRUISE!!! XD I've never left the coast of the US b4 so this will be a first for me :D

 

Wow…random fluffiness just came out of no where, I don't think I did anything to lead up to this either…*shrugs* I like how it turned out though. (My own review to the story lol)
