Furiza stared at Vegeta for a moment that lasted forever, and nodded solemnly. "For now, simple simian, just listen to what I have to say. Call it…" Furiza formed an energy ball and launched it at a pile of dried leaves, which immediately burst into flames. "…a campfire story."

**********

"Actually, Kakarotto did kill me, or rather the explosion of Namekkusei did. Chunks were torn out of me, but for the most part I remained whole. My corpse floated in space for four years.

"During that time, I was in Hell. Not figuratively, quite literally. If you've never been, you're not missing much; for the most part it's a hot, barren wasteland. Nothing to do there but train. So that's what I did. For three years, I did nothing but train. I did not sleep, eat, or drink. I took no breaks. I simply trained for three years, nonstop. As such, my powerlevel increased tenfold, fiftyfold, a hundredfold!

"No doubt, you're wondering why I only trained for 3 years, if I was dead for four. Quite simply, it would have been in vain. Eventually, my powerlevel reached a plateau, what is called in many circles a "powerlevel cap". Every Icer has a base powerlevel cap of two billion. Each transformation is basically a multiplier: x3, x6, and x10. If your simple ape brain can handle simple arithmetic, you would see my maximum powerlevel is twenty billion. In my fourth transformation, I could do away with my Death Ball skill; a simple fingerbeam could destroy an average-sized planet. A KienZan could destroy any larger planet. I would only need Death Ball to destroy a star.

"For the final year, I studied. There are two buildings in Hell. A prison to contain the more rambunctious Hellions and an Information Center where one can learn all there is to learn in the universe if only one takes the time. What do they care if someone knows every strength and every weakness of every race in every galaxy? You're dead!

"It was there that I learned of an ancient technique developed by a high god of the universe. This technique could allow me to become even stronger. It's called the `Fusion Dance'.

"When two people perform the Fusion Dance, they become one person. Their powerlevel skyrockets and they retain any racial skills.

"About a month after I discovered this, my corpse was found by my older brother, Koola. He brought them to Glaisher, the Icerian home world and replaced the missing chunks of my body with steel plates. He then ran my corpse through a machine called the Qube, after a figure from Icerian scripture that came back from the dead to bring the race to power. I returned to life and became the being you see before you now.

"The next day, I took my reserve space pod out of storage, set a course for Earth, and just now arrived. Vegeta, even you should be able to figure out why I have come from all that. Number one: I have come to fuse and become stronger. Number two: I have come to gain immortality. I'd be lying if I said I landed right here by chance. Both of my quests begin here. You are the answer to number one. Bulma's little radar is number two."

To say Vegeta had some trouble accepting this would be like saying Senpyou's Tower is a bit of a task to climb… a terrible understatement. Furiza had a maximum powerlevel of twenty billion. And could potentially become stronger? Furiza could destroy a planet even before the Namekkusei fiasco. Now he could do it with a simple fingerbeam? Why would he want to become stronger? No one in any of the neighboring galaxies could take on Furiza.

Then it hit him. Something an advisor of King Vegeta's had once told him something along these lines. Every race had a powerlevel cap, and the Icer's rank among the highest in the universe. Only a few were higher, and only one shared a galaxy with the Icers… the Saiya-jin. The Saiya-jin had a powerlevel cap of 3 million, and they too had a modifier… Super Saiya-jin. However, it was previously believed that Super Saiya-jin was the highest multiplier a Saiya-jin could achieve, and even then only once every thousand years. Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta had all proved the old conceptions wrong. Surely, Vegeta thought,, there were even higher tiers than SSJ2.

And didn't Furiza say that not only would the powerlevel tremendously, but all racial skills would be kept? If fourth form Furiza had a powerlevel of twenty billion and SSJ2 had a multiplier of x15, Furiza's powerlevel would be 300 billion. Add Vegeta's base powerlevel to Furiza's, however, and then use the multipliers…

At least 400 billion, without breaking a sweat. Even the strongest race in the universe, the Emduu-jin, with their best modifier, was only 150 billion. The universe would be theirs for the picking. "Furiza," Vegeta began. "No one in the universe could stop us."

"Exactly Vegeta. Absolute power. Plus, your powerlevel hasn't capped just yet. If the chart in the back of the book was correct, we could theoretically reach a powerlevel of two trillion. Think about that. The power to destroy a whole galaxy in one blow." Furiza moved in closer to Vegeta, as though he was about to reveal an even deadlier secret. "And best of all, we can watch Kakarotto squirm when he sees he's powerless to stop us." Furiza snickered. "The ultimate irony:one of the most powerful warriors of this age, reduced to a quivering mass of jelly in a moment."

Vegeta was nearly brought to tears by this thought. A powerlevel of two trillion, untouchable by all, and the ultimate revenge on the Son family. "Furiza, I've never been much of a dancer. But I think I'd like to learn this step."

Alright, enough chit-chat. Time for the real story to start. The next chapter sparks the end of all things, all because two madmen couldn't suppress their primitive lust for power. Please review.
