"This just in. A space pod resembling the two that landed about ten years ago carrying the evil monkey-like aliens has landed about fifty miles south of Chibi Senshi City. The spherical craft was open, but empty. "The pod was found by a Mr. Akir-"

**********

"A pod resembling the ones carrying the monkey-like aliens?" Gohan asked himself. "That can't be right. Only Furiza, Vegeta, Nappa, Radditsu, and Dad had one. We killed Nappa and Radditsu and destroyed their ships, Vegeta is one of us now, and Dad left his on Namek…" Gohan looked out the window to Goku, who was training in the yard. "Dad said Furiza died when Namekkusei blew… but did he see Furiza die?" After questioning his own logic for a short while, Gohan decided to confront Goku about his fears.

Goku had spent nearly all his time training since Chichi's death. Gohan supposed it was to keep his mind off the pain. "Dad!" Gohan called. Startled, Goku pivoted on his heels and launched the Kamehameha he'd been charging. At the last second, he realized his mistake and redirected it harmlessly into space and watched it dissipate.

"Kami, Gohan! Are you alright?"

Gohan was slightly worried. Goku had become increasingly paranoid and his behavior has becoming erratic since his wife's death. Before, he knew Gohan's ki signature like the back of his hand. Now though… "Yeah Dad, just fine."

"You looked upset when you came out. Is something wrong?"

"More unsettling than anything, Dad. Do you remember the pods that you and the other Saiya-jin came in?

Goku did.

"Well, they found a fifth outside of Chibi Senshi City."

"That's impossible," said Goku. "The fifth belonged to Furiza, and he's d-" Then Goku did something Gohan had never seen him do. Goku seemed to freeze with fear. "Impossible… Could it be that… No, never… But… No…"

"Dad?" Gohan interrupted Goku's rambling. "Furiza is dead, right?"

Goku snapped out of his self-induced hypnotic rambling and put his arm put his arm around Gohan's shoulder. At first glance, they seemed like best friends, which, since Gohan knew no one else his age or remotely close to it, he was. "Gohan, Furiza is dead. Make no mistake about it."

**********

About ninety miles away, or fifty miles south of Chibi Senshi City, the final royal, full-blood Saiya-jin trained under gravity five thousand times that of normal Earth gravity. Vegeta panted and strained under the force and, after what seemed like a hundred eternities, he stood up without having to go Super Saiya-jin. Vegeta barely had time to be proud of himself when a massive tremor shook the building, knocking him off of his royal feet. Luckily, the reinforced walls of the Gravitron held fast, even under the added strain of weighing five thousand times more than they should under any circumstances.

"Gravity… normal" he managed to gasp. He immediately felt like he weighed nothing compared to what he just felt like. Slowly, he stood and limped out of the room. The pain he felt a moment ago would soon be washed away by a far greater emotional torment.

**********

A space pod, model A-14, Furizar Industries, Inc., had crash-landed in the backyard of the Saiya-jin prince. But those for the Saiya-jin had been destroyed and Kakarotto had killed Furiza… no… the explosion of Namekkusei had killed Furiza.

So why was there one still in use anywhere in the universe?

Just then, almost as an answer to Vegeta's silent question, a blast of steam escaped the pod as the hatch lifted open. The sun glinted off of some sort of metal plate inside so brightly that Vegeta had to turn his head for a moment. When he turned back, he refused to believe his eyes. Then, as rage and fear filled his being, he involuntarily became a Super Saiya-jin. Out of the cloud of steam, like some sort of specter from a nightmare that could not end, the purple and gray visage of the Icerian Tyrant, Furiza appeared, covered in steel plates.

"Furiza! Why the hell are you here?"

Furiza approached the Saiya-jin prince and Vegeta knew he'd changed. For one thing, there was the obvious appearance of steel plates that gave him an appearance of being welded and bolted together. Also, the thing that instilled the most fear in Vegeta's immortal soul was the fact that he got a horrible migraine when he tried to sense Furiza's powerlevel. "Well, well, Vegeta-san," said the Icer with a smirk. "What a tactful way to greet your former employer!"

"Kakarotto kept you from escaping and the explosion of Namekkusei tore you top pieces. How in the hell could you survive something like that?"

"Tut, tut, Vegeta. All will be explained. For now, however, there remains a bid on this planet. A very high bid." Furiza slowly turned 360 degrees, taking in the scenery of Earth. "It would be such a shame to witness all this beauty destroyed by those fools, but credits are credits, right? Also, if I recall, there are Dragon balls here, correct?"

At that moment, Vegeta realized he had gone SSJ without knowing it. He could tell Furiza had not yet recognized this fact either. "Does it really matter? If you survived the explosion nof Namekkusei, you must already be immortal." The air around the two crackled with electricity and took on the smell of ozone. The ever-present unfelt wind blew Vegeta's now much longer gold hair and he was surrounded by a brilliant gold ki aura. Random bolts of energy arced around his body. "Or maybe someone just needs to finish the job!"

Furiza merely chuckled at this, as though the thought of fighting a Super Saiya-jin was a laughing matter. "You poor, simple ape-man. Do you really expect to harm me?"

Vegeta sneered at the pale, half-metal being. "Go ahead, transform. I'll still kill you, bastard son of a Namek-jin and an ice cube. These blots of energy show that my powerlevel is too high for my body and must escape somehow. Do you understand that? I'm too powerful for my own good. That also means I'm far stronger than Kakarotto was when he we were on Namekkusei." Vegeta visibly tensed when he mentioned his rival's birthname. Furiza's over-observant eye caught this. It took Furiza less than a second to decide to exploit it.

"Vegeta? Do I detect a hint of negativity toward Kakarotto? If so, we may have more in common than you think."

Vegeta hadn't considered that. After all, Kakarotto had killed, or rather severely injured, Furiza, something no one else had ever been able to accurately claim. As such, wouldn't Furiza feel the need to right this wrong? "Yes. I hate him. I hate his son. I hate his whole family, right down to Bardock. I'd kill him in a heartbeat if it weren't for his damned brat, Gohan. That little son of a bitch is stronger than all of us."

"Except for me. Join me once again Vegeta. I can help you rid yourself of Kakarotto, without fear of Gohan."

Vegeta toyed with this idea for a moment, then remembered the heinous acts committed against his people by this monster. "Never! I may want to kill Kakarotto but I'll do it of my own accord. As King Vegeta is my witness, I will never follow you again!" Vegeta launched himself at the small, gray creature, reared back, and punched the Icerian Beast in the face.

Furiza simply laughed it off and grabbed Vegeta's fist in his small hand. "Vegeta, Vegeta, Vegeta, you never learn do you?" Furiza brought Vegeta's hand away from his face and squeezed.

Vegeta felt, heard, and saw the bones in his hand crumble to dust under the grip of Furiza. Then, he watched in horror as twisted his hand and pulled on it at the same time. The force removed two pounds from Vegeta's body, in the form of Vegeta's left hand. Blood gushed from the massive wound, spraying both wounder and wounded. "Ooh, Vegeta, that looks bad. We'll have to cauterize that." Furiza dropped the limp, paling fist of Vegeta, formed a KienZan, and pressed the flat topside to Vegeta's wound.

"Now then, Vegeta, you see my power. One way or another, you will join me. If you join me voluntarily, we will kill Kakarotto slowly and you will be part of it. Involuntarily, and I will torture your son and rape your wife. You've seen what I can do. You can't stop me. The choice is yours, thou jesting monkey."

As Vegeta stared helplessly into the obsidian coins of Furiza's eyes, cradling his injured arm, he knew Furiza was telling the truth. It wasn't beneath Furiza to torture and rape to get his way. And vegeta could do nothing about it. Even in his second Super Saiya-jin form, Furiza's base form massively overpowered him.

"What must I do?"

Thus begins this tragedy

Results will be a sight to see

For now begins the end of man

At an evil party's hand

Ape-man and Icer, together again

Both of them enemies, neither a friend

What's this unholy alliance I see?

The death of all things, of you and of me.

Damn.
