Next morning, Chi-Chi was watching the news while Goku was fixing breakfast (it should be the other way around, but Chi-Chi taught Goku how to cook, even against his own will). Gohan and Goten came down from their rooms.
“Hey Gohan and Goten! Gohan, could you get me a few eggs and waffles? We're a little low on those today.”
“Sure dad.”
“Be careful out there. Seven people are killed and nineteen are missing. Looks like a gang member wants some attention.”
“I will mom - love you!”
Gohan went out to West City for his dad's groceries. When he got there, vandalism was sprayed onto every building, skyscraper, and store in the downtown district. Each and every sentence of vandalism had the word “Elvor” on the vandalism.
“Mom was right - a gangster named `Elvor' wants some attention.”
“Hey dude, the entire city is on lockdown. Haven't you heard? Seven dead, nineteen missing? You can't be on the streets at this time and all businesses are closed.” A man said. He was dressed in swimming wear and his hair was styled in a surfer's style.
“Right… and why are you out?”
“'cuz I'm goin' surfin'!”
“Wow, every word in that sentence has an apostrophe in it. I guess I can't go get dad's needs.”
“Oh, ya, cha, avoid the downtown district `cuz that place is full of popos. Don't wanna get arrested for being out on the streets. Security is really tight today!”
“Okay, thanks.”
Gohan returned to his house, empty-handed.
“Gohan, where are my eggs and waffles?”
“The city is on lockdown. You can't get anything today?”
“Aw that sucks… what does `lockdown' mean anyway?”
“Read the dictionary, dad.”
In the afternoon, Gohan and Goten were playing a board game and Chi-Chi became more obsessed with the news.
“Aw, Chi-Chi, I'm tired of cooking. I want to watch some sports.”
“NOT NOW, GOKU!”
Goku shrunk in a corner. “Okay.” He said quietly.
“What's on the news anyway mom?”
“What, Goten?”
“What's on the news?”
“West City's downtown district blew up just moments ago. The entire city is blanketed in smoke. It's like that gangster had an atomic bomb with him.”
Goten did not like this. A comet in the sky that is visible while it was raining, a gangster with a literally out-of-this-world name called `Elvor', and a city that blew up? Since when did comets become visible during rain showers and who could blow a downtown district to bits without anyone noticing that they're placing a bomb somewhere in a tight and secure place?
