The second Pan and Goku uttered their words, the other froze. There was a death like silence for several minutes before Goku started.

`I'm your grandfather? I'm not sure I understand,' he said. Pan began to mumble things under her breath, and Goku picked up bits like `The other world' and `time travel'.

`I can't be pregnant. You are mistaken, Kakarott,' said Pan firmly. Goku shook his head.

`No. I'm pretty sure you are. I can sense two ki's coming from you.' Pan backed up another step a bit shakily.

`No, you don't understand. I *can't* be pregnant,' she said with emphasis on can't. Goku's eyes widened in realisation. `Freeza made sure of it.'

`T-that's horrible!' he said.

`It is true. So you see, I am not with a child,' she said. In truth, she was desperate for Kakarott to be wrong. She was already disgusted with herself.

`I'm sorry Pan, but that's just not true. You must have been healed when the dragon brought you back.' Pan had forgotten about that. She knew then that Kakarott was right.

`Fine then,' she said while gritting her teeth. She raised her hand and punched herself in the gut. Before she could make another hit, Goku was restraining her. `Let me go!! It's my problem, I'll fix it!!'

`No!' shouted Goku. `Even if it wasn't wrong to kill the baby, it's still mine too!' Pan raised her heel and smashed it into Goku's leg, causing him to let her go. She turned around to him, and received a slap in the face. She recoiled in surprise. `I won't let you kill it,' he finished with determination.

Pan death glared at him. `It is not you who will carry it, so it belongs to me, and I can do what I want with it!!' she spat furiously. She ran from the bridge, with Goku on her tail. She came to the docking room, and climbed into a pod. She blasted off into space before Goku could catch up with her. When he got there, he was unable to follow her. Even if he knew how to fly the pods, there were none remaining. He just stared after her pod, afraid that his child would be killed. It had been a horrible mistake, but he loved it already.

------

Pan's pod was captured by a space station in Freeza's empire. Upon emerging, Pan was surrounded by soldiers. One spoke. `Pan, you are under arrest for high treason. Lord Freeza issued the order when you attacked his rival without orders.'

Pan smirked darkly and chuckled. `I think that Freeza won't mind if I take over his empire, for you see, I killed him.' The soldiers didn't balk, flinch or look shocked, as not one of them believed her for a second.

`Nice story, but a mere Saiya-jin is no match for Freeza,' said the leader again.

`True,' admitted Pan. `My prince fought bravely, but was unable to land a scratch on him. I, on the other hand, am no mere Saiya-jin. Check my power if you wish.' The leader of the guards checked her power. He was surprised to find it was only three times weaker than Freeza's power (in his 1st form), when the records stated that it should be around 20,000.

`It's not high enough to defeat Freeza,' he said simply. Pan's smirk deepened and she powered up to Kaio Ken time 5. The scouter exploded, but the guard saw that it was more than a million. `It appears that you *are* more powerful than Freeza, my lady. What is your will?' He asked. He was always taught to serve the powerful. Pan raked a nail across her palm, drawing blood. She flicked her blood at the guard, making it splatter on his blue helmet.

`Get that blood tested and bring me the results. I also want a space ship.'

The soldiers bowed and left. Pan began to chuckle, and it soon became a twisted form of laughter. She had great plans for the universe. Now that she was the strongest, she knew how Freeza felt. All powerful, the galaxy a play thing for her amusement. She headed off in search of food.

-----

Pan had just finished eating in the mess hall, which she cleared out by killing everyone there, when a soldier approached her from the corridor.

`Ma'am. Your blood results.' He handed her a hand held computer. She flipped through the results, becoming more and more angry at everything she saw.

She was pregnant, with the child of one of her ancestors, she wasn't even a full blooded Saiya-jin, and her body had sustained mild permanent damage from Kaio ken. It wouldn't hinder her, but if she kept on using Kaio ken to the extreme, she would die young woman. She stormed to the docks, where she was shown her space ship. It was a truly great battleship, with enough food to keep her alive for a year, and was fully automated. She got on board and took off in a rage. Once she was in space, she said to the computer, `Attack pattern 11, target: The space station.' The computer silently fired a dozen torpedoes, destroying the station completely.

*Yes* Thought Pan, almost insanely. *I will free the universe of Freeza's wrath. I will make sure that that name is forgotten by all* The ship shot off towards the nearest star system. Her objective: Destroy it.

---------

Vegeta landed on a planet just outside Freeza's sphere of influence. His arrival was unnoticed by anyone. He made his way to a city, and touched down. He looked around, wandering aimlessly for hours. Eventually he came to a bar. He went inside, and found the place bustling with livelihood. He went to the counter and ordered something hard. He drank down and watched as life went on around him. Soon he was approached by a man in rough clothing. `Can I help you?' asked Vegeta wearily. The man sat down and ordered a drink of his own.

`You are Vegeta, no? Destroyer of worlds?' The voice was shady and slick.

`What if I am?'

`I was just wondering what your doing here, and if you plan to let us live. I am a bounty hunter. I don't know if you know it or not, but the bounty on your head is nothing short of astronomical, alive only.'

`Are you here to challenge me?' asked Vegeta. The hunter shook his head.

`I am not stupid enough to go up against you.'

`You are wise. Too bad Freeza won't ever be able to pay the bounty. He's dead, but not by my hand, however much I wish it were so.'

`Freeza is dead? This is news, but it was not Freeza who issued the bounty. It was Lord Hantre, his rival. You are wanted for the murder of his daughter and the destruction of his planet.'

Vegeta nodded. Out of all the people he killed, Chihiro was the one he remembered most vividly. `Have you heard of a being named Pan? She is also a Saiya-jin. She is the one who robbed me of my revenge against Freeza.'

`I do know of a Pan. She has become the universe's most wanted. In the month since Freeza's disappearance, she has destroyed thousands of planets and star systems.' Vegeta's eyes widened. `Here,' offered the bounty hunter. He hailed the bar tender and asked him to turn on the news. A green alien came on.

`I'm here with some breaking news. The whereabouts of Lord Freeza have been discovered. He personally went on a top secret mission to a far away planet named Namek. The reasons are as of yet unknown, but we have confirmed that the planet has been destroyed. There is no trace of Freeza, or the Ginyu force, who were summoned to the planet some hours after Freeza arrived. Rumours have it that Pan, the last remaining Saiya-jin, became a super Saiya-jin, a legendary level of power among the Saiya-jin race, and killed Freeza.

`Pan has become the all time most wanted criminal. In the last month she has gone a rampage, ripping through everything. Freeza's empire has been thrown into chaos due to the lack of a command structure, and has been almost defenseless. Pan, who has earned the title `The Scourge Of the Universe' was last heard of three hours ago, in sector 29.856.276.578, when she destroyed a star, causing it to go super nova, wiping out 74 inhabited planets and taking a trillion lives in the resulting explosion. She seems to have no preference to what she destroys. While Freeza's empire has suffered the most, The Hantre empire as also been targeted, as well as dozens of neutral planets and smaller empires. The only planets that have been spared are planets without any modern presents, suggesting that she is bent on wiping only the space-faring galaxy out.

Pan's history is--'

Vegeta blasted the television in anger and stalked out of the building. Even he thought Pan was going overboard, wiping out everything in sight. The bounty hunter followed him out and approached him.

`Will you look for her?' he asked, already suspecting the answer. Vegeta turned to face the man.

`I will. And when I find her, she will know my wrath.'

`First I suggest you visit someone who can tell you the secret to unlocking hidden power.' Vegeta's eyes narrowed suspiciously.

`Is there such a place as this, and such a power?'

The bounty hunter nodded. `Yes. A Shaman who lives on a hidden planet very close to where Vegeta-sei used to be.'

`I am intrigued,' said Vegeta. `Tell me, how do I find this planet?'

`I will tell you on one condition.'

Vegeta growled. `I do not like conditions,' he said threateningly.

`This is a very minor condition,' assured the hunter.

`Very well,' growled Vegeta. `What is it?'

`That I come with you.' Vegeta considered it. He would rather remain alone, but decided to let him come.

`Very well.'

`I'll tell you once we're there.'

-------

A month later

Vegeta's ship reached Vegeta-sei's orbit. Chunks of the planet still remained, even after two decades. It was the first time Vegeta had been to Vegeta-sei after it's destruction. The bounty hunter, who had yet to reveal his name to Vegeta, had been the perfect guest. He didn't talk to Vegeta, and Vegeta didn't talk to him. He stayed in his room below the main floor for the whole month. Vegeta had only seen him a few times. Vegeta had been training, and had almost doubled his power.

The bounty hunter climbed up the ladder to the main deck. Vegeta approached him. `We are here. Tell me now, how do I find this place?'

`It's right over there. It on the moon.' Vegeta clenched his jaw.

`The moon was a busy port. What are you talking about?'

`All the Saiya-jin went to Vegeta-sei for the full moon festival, right?' Vegeta nodded. `The moon was abandoned of all Saiya-jin life that day, and Freeza's men were recalled after the port became useless. The Shaman moved in after that, settling in on the bases. There was enough food there to support a million Saiya-jins for a year, so he doesn't need to worry about that.'

`I see,' said Vegeta. `It does make sense. One thing though, why did you need me? Why not come here on your own?'

`A-ha. You caught me. The Shaman has a wild monster protecting the planet that is far too powerful for me to defeat. I was hoping you could do it for me, so that I may ask the Shaman something myself.' Vegeta agreed, and landed on the moon. The port, which was a small city in reality, was tall and clustered. The light from the red giant star that kept it in it's orbit beamed down on the small planet. As soon as Vegeta stepped out, a great golden dragon, easily a hundred times the size of the prince, emerged from a docking bay. It swooped in on Vegeta, breathing a rain of fire down on him. Vegeta took to the sky and got on the dragon's back. He plunged his fists into it's flesh and charged a big bang attack. In a few seconds, the dragon was blown clean in half from the inside out. It fell from the sky and landed with a great thump. Vegeta made his way back to the capsule ship, where the bounty hunter was waiting.

`That was the most impressive thing I've ever seen. Come, the Shaman awaits us in the highest tower.' He took to the sky and was followed by Vegeta. They landed in a great hall, which seemed very much out of place amidst the modern exterior.

Vegeta spotted a withered old woman sitting on the floor in the middle of the room. He walked over to her and sat down across from her. She wore silk robes, and nothing else. She was old beyond comprehension. She didn't open her eyes the whole time Vegeta was there.

`What do you wish to know?' She asked, the age in her voice older than anything Vegeta had ever heard before.

`How do I become a Super Saiya-jin? How is it that I am not yet one?!' he demanded in a raising voice. The old woman did not flinch when he yelled. She put her hand, gnarled with age, on Vegeta's forehead. He slapped it away.

`Ah,' she said. `In order for you to achieve this status, you must be pure of heart. Goku, the one you call Kakarott, knows no hate. He is the most serene being I have ever felt the presence of. You on the other hand, are very complex, like a raging storm. I can safely say this; you will never become pure as Goku has. It is beyond your ability. Goodbye.' With that, she vanished, much to the surprise of the bounty hunter and Vegeta.

`NO!!!' Cried the bounty hunter. Vegeta was at a loss. He had just been told he would never become pure. That he would never achieve the level of super Saiya-jin. His hair stood on end, and he blasted the whole port to the ground in rage. He blasted towards his ship, and shot off, leaving the bounty hunter midst the ruins.

The pod was some ways away, when suddenly, off in the distance, there was an explosion. He looked at it in awe, before setting a course for it. *Pan* He thought.
