Common Differences- Fighting, Flyers, and Fears

Ryoko watched the two full-Saiyans as they sparred. Goku had just landed a kick in Vegeta's stomach, causing him to double up in pain. The taller Saiyan brought his elbow down to smash into the older one's back, but hit air as the other dropped to his knees and made a low round kick to trip his opponent.
The female Saiyan sighed and took a sip of lemonade. Today was getting boring already, which was just great. She stood up and stretched her back to cause a few bones to pop. Ryoko grinned as she felt a familiar ki in the kitchen. Goten was just the cure for boredom, especially when she could sneak up on him. Knowing her boyfriend, she figured he was probably eating like the vacuum cleaner he was. Ryoko Instant Transmissioned to right behind Goten who was, like she thought, eating his food so fast off the plate someone would wonder if there was really something on it in the first place. Just as Goten was taking a gulp of soda Ryoko grabbed him by the shoulders. He spit out the mouth-full of soda and begun to cough.
"Ryoko!" Goten yelled after his coughing fit subsided, "Now why'd you go and do that?!"
"I was bored," she said with a shrug." Besides, if I hang around outside, I'm gonna get hit with a Kamehameha Wave or something. Either that or get a first in my face. Your dad and Veggie spar like lions." Ryoko laughed, "No mercy."
"Yeah...well...that's dad and Vegeta for you." Goten grinned sheepishly and turned towards the hamburger that was in front of him, only to find an empty plate, "Hey..." He turned to ask Ryoko if she knew where his burger went only to see her hastily chewing something.
"Wha?" She swallowed, "I was hungry too."
Goten only sighed and shook his head. At that moment, Apriel and Syra made their entrance while talking to each other. Apriel stopped and eyed the food on the table which Goten belatedly and hastily blocked from view with his body.
"Sweet! Munchies!" Apriel walked to the table and reached around Goten's body. She managed to grab a handful of potato chips before he could stop her. She laughed as she stuffed a few into her mouth and stuck her tongue out at the half-Saiyan, who pouted.
"No fair, that's MY food. You eat too much for a human," Goten whined as he looked to Ryoko to back him up.
Ryoko just shrugged. Being a Saiyan, she'd probably think the same way if it were her food. Then again, it wasn't. She winked at Apriel who stole a few more chips, then waved a Syra.
"Hello Ryoko," Syra greeted. She smiled as she joined the group at the table.
"What's up? Haven't seen you for a few days. Been back in your universe?" Ryoko leaned against her boyfriend who went back to eating everything in sight.
"I've been checking out things in another universe, something strange is-"
"Hey everyone, lookie here!" Arora ran through the door with a flyer in her hand. The half-Namek half-Saiyan grinned as she placed the flyer on the table. Trunks entered behind her, his shirt looking like it was grabbed excitedly by someone and his expression dazed.
"What is it?" Ryoko leaned over Goten to read the important-looking notice.
"It's a flyer for the World Martial Arts Tournament!" It'll be held next week and they finally replaced the blonde announcer dude," Arora said as she pointed at the name of the new announcer.
"Who is that? I've never heard of him," Syra looked at the announcer's name as she asked.
"It's the old announcer's son!" Arora grinned again, then sighed dreamily. "They say he's a real hottie."
Everyone blinked simultaneously before falling over or out of their chairs. A few legs and arms twitched before they all stood back up.
"Trust Arora to point out that the old announcer's son is hot. Can't be much different from his dad, can he?" Ryoko said.
"Oh yeah? Well, here's his picture!" Arora held up a picture of a very cute guy that looked about their age with spiky light brown hair that was bleached at the tips.
All of the girls' jaws dropped before they crowded around the picture. Goten and Trunks just looked at each other, then shrugged. It must have been some kind of girl thing.

Goku had just grabbed Vegeta's foot as the Saiyan prince tried to kick him and slammed him into the ground when a familiar ki appeared in the front yard. Vegeta felt the ki as well and brushed his shirt out a bit before he followed Goku to meet up with the arrival.
When the Saiyans arrived in the Capsule Corp. front yard, they found a tall, lavender man with long, white hair standing in the grass with a worried expression.
"Hi Kaioshin," Goku said with a smile as he approached the god. Kaiobit may have been a fusion of the Kaioshin and his servant Kibito, but he kept the same rank as his higher half. "Is anything wrong?"
"Of course something's wrong, idiot. Why else would Mr. High-and-Mighty-in- the-Universe look worried?" Vegeta sneered and crossed his arms.
Kaiobit took a moment to glare at Vegeta before he spoke. "Earlier today some kind of portal was opened in this quadrant at the edge of the universe. I felt a ki from it, but only briefly before whoever it was masked it. Since it was in this quadrant and considering the history of the Earth and villains attacking it, I decided to check it out here before any other planet."
"Oh, so basically you just have to find the ki again and you want us to help in case of another Majin Buu?" Goku kept his smile plastered on his face.
"Er...yes, that's right..." Kaiobit began to look hopeful.
"Sure we'll help! It might be best to wait 'til the next World Martial Arts Tournament, though. It's just next week and I'm sure they wouldn't want to miss it," again Goku said something to make
"Yes, it would be, wouldn't it?" Suddenly Kaiobit's expression turned worried again. "Say, neither of you would know where I could find a copy of...'Swimsuit Babes'...would you?"
Vegeta suddenly snapped out of his trance when he heard the question. "What do you need with that?"
"It's...for Rou Dai Kaioshin. It was the only way to keep him from following me to Earth."
"Well..." Goku said as Vegeta looked at him. They knew a certain person...

The small room was filling with light as the sun made its way in the direction of the window. The female Kai slowly opened her eyes and squinted out the window. That thing was going to quickly become annoying, she just knew it. Why couldn't this planet just have moons? Then again, the mortals here must have needed some way to know when to rest. Kaios never needed to sleep, it was just beneficial sometimes. She sighed before she rose off of the mattress. She figured this day might be a good day to find out more about her temporary hideout. The Kaio decided she needed water first and proceeded to leave the shack in search of some form of water.
After only a minute or two of flying she discovered a clear spring. She slowly dropped down to kneel next to the stream and leaned over it curiously. There were creatures with strange tails swimming in the water. She leaned closer to the water and her hair began falling into the stream...
She suddenly shot up as one of the creatures closed its mouth onto her hair. A started shriek emitted from her as she swatted at the poor fish. It felt very strange and scaly.
"Get off, get off you demon spawn thing!" A few more swats and the fish fell back into the stream, where it swam as quickly away as possible. The woman shuddered and wiped her hands on her vest. "I never want to touch those things again!"
Something suddenly caught her eye. A small farm was about two-hundred feet away and a thrown-out flyer was held against a fence by the wind. She approached the fence cautiously, snatched the poster, and stepped behind a tree. She didn't really want to be seen by anyone yet. After that precaution, she finally read what it said.
"Earth's World Martial Arts Tournament is finally approaching once again! Come test your skills against the world's strongest and try to match your wits against the Champion! The winner gets one-million Zeni and second place gets five hundred thousand Zeni! We now have a new announcer: Mike L. Blonden. The Tournament will be held on Tuesday, July 9. Come and fight!"
"Oh really?" The woman raised an eyebrow before smiling. "Well then, this will be interesting..." Her smile darkened slightly. She would find fighters to help her whether they liked it or not.
