CHAPTER 19: AMMENDS WITH THE PRINCE
Marley landed on the roof of Capsule Corp. It had been an all around weird couple of days. She was confused and tired and wanted to just forget everything. She walked down to her room and sat on her bed. She was about to open the Box again when she heard a knock on the door.
"Um, come in."
It was Trunks. "Hey, my mom wanted to talk to you, something about your computer."
"I will be there momentarily."
He left and Marley threw on her Capsule Corp. jacket. It was cold. She headed down to Bulma's work area. She opened the door and found Bulma hunched over her computer babbling nonsense to her self.
"Bulma…"
"Oh, hey, I didn't hear you come in. Sorry, this is just all so fascinating. But I've got a problem."
Marley waited.
"You see, these aren't complete. They just stop right after they tell you how to duplicate cells. I'm confused at their terminology already and was wondering if you could help me again."
"Yeah, one minute. I'm sorry about that, its incompletion. I guess I forgot, I never finished inputting all the information. Some is still on paper. This will just take a moment." Marley apologized. She broke off the blade of one of her knives and took out the capsule. She pressed the button and it turned into a pile of papers, a tall one.
"I'm sorry it is so unorganized. I guess I never got around to doing these papers. That is definitely all I have though." Marley said as she shifted threw the stack. She came upon a book near to the top. I'd almost forgotten this. I better take this for safekeeping. Marley reassembled her blade and then took another one apart another one. She removed its capsule and then put the knife back together.
"Bulma, I've got to go. Do you know where Prince Vegeta is? I need to speak with him."
"Um, lets see, it is seven…He should be coming out of the GT for dinner soon."
"Thanks."
"And Marley, before I forget, I finished your GT this afternoon. Have fun!" She handed Marley a capsule and got back to work.
Marley left Bulma to her research and went to find Vegeta. He was training in his GT still so Marley decided to wait. She leaned up against the side of the GT. Lights flashed blue and yellow inside, she could feel the power level rising. Then it stopped.
Vegeta walked out, toweling his face and body dry. "Prince Vegeta."
He turned around and glared. "What do you want freak woman?"
She glared back for a second and then spoke, "I'll make this short, I don't exactly have time to waste on you, but duty commands me to do what I'm about to do."
"Well get on with it!"
"In my time traveling in space I came upon many empty space ships. Usually nothing of value was inside, but sometimes I found interesting and priceless objects."
"Yeah, yeah, where is this going?"
She rethought what she was doing and said, "One day I came upon a ship of Saiyan manufacturing and docked with it. Inside I determined the pilot had left in a hurry and had left something very valuable to him or her. Tell me Prince Vegeta," she threw out the capsule from her knife and a spaceship appeared in the smoke, "do you recognized this?"
He stood astounded, his mouth hanging wide open. He quickly composed himself. "This is my old spaceship."
"I found this in it." She pulled out the book she had found in her papers, "It is your journal."
"This is personal! Did you read it!?!" Vegeta yelled at her.
"Yes."
"This is my journal, what made you think you could read it?"
"Your journal is the only reason I'm here!" Her tail stood straight out behind her as she yelled. She was getting tired of his attitude. Then she calmed down and realized she would react the same way. "Your journal inspired me to rebel against my father and do the right thing!"
She looked down on him, mainly because she was taller than him, but also because she was disappointed in him. "Funny, I dreamed for the longest time of finding you. I had it all planned in my head. I would present you with your ship and journal and ask if I could serve in your private army. I wanted to follow in my fath…well in the General's footsteps and serve as the king's right hand man, or woman. Little did I know those days for you were over and you'd killed Nappa, I suppose that is why I call you Prince Vegeta. So anyway, I guess I don't care anymore. I've done my duty. Leave me alone and I'll leave you alone, deal?"
He looked at her almost apologetically. She turned around and left.
"Wait. Do you have a sparring partner? Trunks is too young, I hate training with Kakkarot, and I need to sharpen my skills against more than robots."
She looked at him from the corner of her eye. "Kakkarot wants me to spar with him in the mornings. In the afternoons I was planning on training by myself in the GT, but I suppose a live sparring partner is preferable to a droid."
"Good."
"I told Kakkarot and I'll tell you: I'll not be taken lightly because I'm a woman. If you don't treat me as the fighter I am I'll blast you to pieces."
"Harrumph."
With that she left him to his journal, she had seen him fingering it. She new it was important to him.
That night at dinner they got a phone call.
"I got it," Bulma said, "And it better not be work. Hello? Um, yeah one minute." She covered the receiver with her hand, "It is Gohan. He wants to talk to you Vegeta."
Vegeta looked at the phone like it was the Grim Reaper and took it from Bulma.
"What? Harrumpf. Fine," He hung it up.
"Well?" Bulma said questioningly.
"Well what?" He said.
"Argh! You're insufferable!"
