Another Brother?
Shanaa giggled as Goten started to chase her around the backyard. She had snagged his water bottle from him while he was sparring with her father and had stuffed it down her shirt while she ran. She leapt over the patio furniture and nearly crashed into Vejita when she landed on the grass. Instead, she jumped over him and landed in the pool. "Oh, that's nice." Goten muttered, standing on the side of the pool. Shanaa popped her head out of the water and watched Goten's bottle float out of her shirt and along the surface of the water. She grinned at him and pulled herself out of the pool, shaking her soaking wet hair out all over him. "OH, jeez! Thanks Shanaa. I'm wet enough from all this sweat, now you gotta get me--" He was cut off as she kissed him and hugged him tight. "Get over it." She purred, walking towards the house. Vejita didn't let her inside until she stopped dripping all over the place. It was freezing cold in the house. Her mother had the air conditioner on full blast and still wasn't satisfied.
"Kaasan. You look miserable." She grinned and plopped down in her mom's lap, laughing as Serena threw her arms around her daughter and held her tight against her hot skin. "You're nice and cold..." She murmured, grinning at Shanaa. "I jumped in the pool, Mom. You should try it." Shanaa purred. Serena nodded and made her daughter stand so she could go upstairs and change. Shanaa took her spot and smiled to herself, twirling a bit of her wet lavender hair around her fingers as Goten came into the house. "Hey." She purred, waving her fingers at him. He smirked and sat down on the couch, letting her crawl into his lap. "Don't tell me I'm nice and cold. I just heard it from my mother." She said softly, kissing his cheek. "Okay. I wont say it." He grinned and hugged her to him. They sat there for a while, talking and laughing until Trunks came inside and ordered Shanaa to come out into the backyard.
She growled a little, but obeyed her father, stepping back out into the intense heat. "What?" She whined, putting her hands on her hips. "It's time for our daily sparring match, that's what." Shanaa whined again. "Daddy! PLEASE don't make me do this! It's too hot!" Shanaa stared at her father, her eyes wide. "All right fine. You can get out of it today and today ONLY." Trunks muttered, turning away from his daughter to jump into the pool. Shanaa heard the sound of the doorbell and ran inside, going to the front where her grandmother usually sat. She opened the door and stared up at an older male with short, spiky black hair. He looked a little like Gohan, but she brushed it off and smiled. "Can I help you?" "Does Serena live here?" He asked. Shanaa nodded. "Come with me, she's in the backyard." She led the man through the entry way, into the living room and out into the blazing sun. "Hey, Mom! There's someone here to see you." Serena looked up from the pool where Trunks was holding her over the water and stared.
"Kaasan." The male smiled at her and dropped his things. "Kaasan? Nani?" Shanaa cried, a little confused. Serena seemed to be just as oblivious to who this man was and stated exactly that. "Um, who the Hell are you?" She asked. "Kaasan, it's me... Ryoma. Remember? I was only a child when we met, as were you, but Trunks told you everything." Serena let out a sharp gasp and got out of the pool. "Ryoma... as in the child I WOULD have had if Gohan and I had stayed together?" She lifted her hand and touched his face, eyes darting left and right. "It is you... I can see Gohan in your eyes... my God. Wh-what are you doing here?" She cried, hugging him. Shanaa's eyes moved from her mother to the stranger. "MOM!" She cried in disbelief. Serena's wet head whipped towards her daughter. Shanaa shook with anger. Who the HELL did this guy think he was, coming to her house and telling her mother that she was his mother as well?
"Hime-chan..." Serena started, putting up one hand. Shanaa's lower lip trembled and she turned away, pushing off of the ground into the sky. "FUCK!" Serena yelled, moving to go after her daughter. Vejita grabbed her by her foot and shook his head. "No, Serengeta. Let her be for a while. Just see what happens. I guarantee she'll come back. You always did." He smiled at her and nodded to Ryoma before going back inside the house. Serena put her feet back on the ground and sighed. "He's right. Anyway, are you hungry?" She smiled up at the taller Saiyajin and waited for an answer. "Not really, thanks. I ate before I left." Ryoma answered. "Well then, let's move this inside. It's a little hot out here and you're dressed in sweats." She smiled wider and led him back into the house. "So, Ryoma, what brings you to this day and age?" Serena asked, sitting cross-legged in Vejita's armchair. "Well, ever since Trunks came back and destroyed #18 and #17, not to mention Cell, things have ben peaceful. We've re-built the entire city and the population is back up, but..." He lowered his head. "Your future form died from the virus that attacked my grandfather's heart. Trunks was so upset he committed suicide and Angel got herself killed by the androids, but you already knew that. It's been me and Grandma for the past four years and... now it's just me." He raised his dark blue eyes to meet Serena's, a couple tears trickling down his cheek. Serena put her arms out to him and welcomed his body. "Ryoma, darling... you can stay here." She whispered, her fingers playing in his black hair. He nodded into her neck and shuddered. Trunks bit his lip and looked to see Keko and Reoko standing in the doorway. "Kaasan." Keko spoke, looking a little suspicious. Ryoma pulled back and sat back on the couch, drying his eyes. "Keko, Reoko. This is your... older brother, Son Ryoma." Reoko's face fell. "Whaddya mean, our OLDER brother?" She screamed. "I've explained it to you before, Reoko, in the future, Gohan-kun and I had a child. His name was Ryoma. This is that child, all grown up. God, you have to be what... nineteen?" She asked. He nodded a little and looked up at Trunks. "My father is alive, right?" He asked. Serena nodded and sighed. "Though I must tell you, he doesn't like me much these days, so I'm not sure I can arrange anything for a while. But, it's worth a shot to call him. Excuse me." She stood and went to the kitchen to dial Gohan's number. "Hello?" "Videl? It's Serena. Is Gohan-kun home?" "Yeah... just a sec... GOHAN!" Serena pulled the phone away from her ear and waited as Gohan picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Serena shuddered at the sound of his voice. "Gohan-kun? It's Serena. I have a question for you. Do you remember the little boy that came with Future Trunks and my future self?" "Um. Yes. Wasn't his name Ryoma?" "Yeah. Guess what. Our son is sitting in my living room and he really wants to see you. What do you say, Gohan-kun? You wanna see him?" She bit her lip, waiting for the 'no'. "Yeah. Sure. I'll bring Videl and Pan with me... I'll be there in an hour..." He trailed off before saying good-bye and hung up.
Serena put the phone back up on the receiver and walked back into the living room. "He'll be here in an hour. That's pretty surprising seeing as he still hates me." Ryoma stared at her and raised an eyebrow, but Serena just waved at him. "Don't worry about it. You'll get to meet your step-mom and little sister as well, so don't be alarmed when he comes in the door with two women at his side." Ryoma nodded and looked to the door as Shanaa walked in, sweaty and very red. "I hate you, Kaasan." She growled, stomping up to her bedroom.
Serena sighed. "Wow. That was harsh. I'll go talk to her..." Trunks muttered, heading up after his daughter. "Shanaa, open this door." He ordered. Shanaa twisted the knob and allowed her father to come in. "Why? Why does he have to show up now? I DON'T WANT ANOTHER BROTHER!" She cried, throwing herself at her father's chest. Trunks nodded and stroked his daughter's thick hair. "I understand that, sweetheart, but can't you at least give him a chance?" He asked. Shanaa shook her head and looked up. "Why can't we give him to Gohan? Pan wants a real older brother. She can have him!" Trunks tried to keep from laughing as he shook his head. "Things don't work that way, darling. You know that." He patted her head and persuaded her to come downstairs.
Shanaa trailed behind her father, eying Ryoma as he smiled kindly at her. Goten came into the room and caught her tight around the waist, causing her to giggle softly. "Goten, that tickles!" She laughed as he ran his fingers under her ribcage. "Goten. Shanaa. Calm down." Bulma scolded playfully as she came into the living room at Vejita's request. "So, Serena, Vejita said you had something to tell me. What's up?" Serena grinned at her step-mother and pointed at Ryoma. "This is your oldest grandson, Ma." Bulma stared at Ryoma and then squinted. "Is that the little boy from the future?" She hissed. Serena nodded. "Yup. Son Ryoma. In the flesh." Serena's face was bright and cheery. Shanaa, on the other hand, glared fiercely at the older male and growled a little. "Stop it." Goten hissed in her ear. "Don't get all jealous of my nephew." He teased. Shanaa whirled around in his arms and scanned his face. "Get of of me!" She yelled, pushing him against the wall. "You don't even know him and already you're calling him your 'nephew'! What is wrong with you people?!" She roared, throwing her hands into the air. "Shanaa Amber Breifs! Show some goddamn respect! He IS a guest in this house whether he's my son or not!" Serena shouted, standing up. Shanaa shook her head at her mother and narrowed her eyes. "Thirteen people in one house is a bit much, Serena." Bulma said softly. "Don't worry about it Grandma. It will be still be twelve. I'm out of here." Hot tears splashed down Shanaa's cheeks as she hurried up the stairs to her bedroom. She grabbed a few sets of clothes and came back down to grab the motorcycle capsule her father had given her.
"Shanaa..." Goten started, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Where will you go?" He asked. "I'm sure there's a nice hard bench I can sleep on. Until then, I don't know." She answered, opening the door as Gohan walked up. Pan greeted her with a smile and jumped when Shanaa pushed her out of the way. "Shanaa! SHANAA!!!!" Trunks had gone to the door in an attempt to stop her and watched her raise her lavender head. "I love you, Papa." She murmured, taking off down the street.
Gohan stared at Serena. "What was that about?" He asked. Serena sat him down and explained what Shanaa was going through. "I did the same thing when I was a kid. Only, I ran away because of you, Gohan-kun." She laughed a little and looked over at Ryoma, who was watching his father with intense curiosity. "Ryoma, sweetheart, don't hide, come here and say hi." She purred, standing up to help him to his feet. Gohan stood as well and looked up at his son. "My Kami, he's tall!" He cried, looking over at Serena. She giggled and looked at Videl and Pan. They seemed a little uneasy about this boy, but Pan smiled and stood. "So, can I call him 'Nii-san'?" She asked, looking over at Gohan. Gohan nodded. "Sure, if it's fine with your mother." Videl just smiled and nodded at her daughter. Ryoma stooped down to hug Pan and smiled, tousling her long black hair. Keko and Reoko had also warmed up to Ryoma and were laughing and chattering away while Serena had one of the kitchen maids fix dinner.
Goku came into the living room sometime later, yawning and complaining that all the noise had woken him up from his afternoon nap. When he saw Ryoma sitting in the living room, he called for Serena and frantically asked if she'd had another son of his without telling him. "No, that's Gohan's son, Goku." She grinned and re-explained everything Miraii Trunks had over twenty years ago. "I see," he said after she'd explained it to him. "Where's Shanaa? I haven't seen her all day." He asked. Serena winced. "She kinda, ran off. I think she's a little jealous of Ryoma. I mean, he is TECHNICALLY my first child. We --you and I, Goku-- had Reoko and Keko 'first' and then Trunks and I had Shanaa. I had completely forgotten about Ryoma until he showed up on my doorstep." She smiled and ran her fingertips over her son's cheek. Ryoma looked a little confused. "Um, Kaasan. Aren't you and trunks... siblings?" He asked. Serena blushed lightly and bit her tongue. She hated to explain how their relationship worked. "Well, yes... but, you see, sixteen years ago, we had a little... erm what did we call it? 'Car accident', and went from there. I had Shanaa a year and a half after our 'accident' and well... it gets a bit complicated, Ryoma." She shrugged a little and closed her eyes. "Oh. So, Trunks is my uncle, but he's also my step-dad..." He scratched the back of his head and tried to understand the situation. Serena giggled. "Don't worry about it. You can just call him Trunks if you want. It might keep you from getting so confused." She patted his shoulder and screamed when a loud clap of thunder was heard above the house. Goku laughed at her frightened expression. "It's a little summer storm, Serena, sheesh." He teased. "Shut up, Kakarrotto." Serena regained her composure and bit her lip, looking out the window as rain began to come down in sheets. "Shanaa's out there..." She murmured, looking up at Trunks. He placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder and squeezed. "She'll be fine. She's a tough girl. She's our daughter, remember?" He smiled at her and winked. "And she's my granddaughter. I'm sure she'll be fine." Vejita spoke up, smiling at his daughter. "Right." Serena said softly, turning back to the window. A few silent minutes passed before another loud clap of thunder was heard. The back door flew open just as lightning flashed. Shanaa stood panting, soaking wet with a little blood dripping from her head. "C-crashed the bike..." She whined before she started to fall forward.
She felt someone catch her. Large warm arms that weren't her father's, or her grandfather's. She looked up and gazed into Ryoma's soft black eyes. "You're alright, Imoto..." He whispered, lifting her up. Serena hurried over and began to freak out. "What? Crashed the bike? Are you hurt?" She cried, her hands waving over Shanaa's body as though she didn't know what to do with them. "My head... hurts. I... crashed into... a... car." Shanaa muttered, taking comfort in her big brother's arms. Serena shook her head and glared at Trunks. "I KNEW THAT MOTORCYCLE WAS A BAD IDEA!" She hollered. Shanaa winced and lowered her head a little. "Mom... stop shouting." She whined, her head rolling over towards Ryoma's chest. She looked similar to a baby as he held her in his arms, all huddled up tight against his chest. Bulma waved Ryoma into her lab and had him set Shanaa on the little hospital bed she had in the corner. "Let's see... couple bruises, minor head trauma... she's fine, Serena. You Saiyajin are hard to break." She smiled down at Shanaa and cleaned her wounds, letting her sleep for a while before waking her for dinner.
Shanaa sat next to Ryoma and talked his ear off. She explained that she had done some thinking while riding out to where Goku used to live. She had come to the decision that she should give this man a chance and turned around. It had been raining when she got back to the city and she had tried to turn and was cut off by a car. The bike was totaled, but she had walked away with only minor injuries. Serena was relived to hear this. "I'm happy you decided to come home, hime-chan. We were beginning to think we'd never see you again." She winked at her daughter and smiled.
Shanaa giggled and then turned back to Ryoma. "So, you came from a future where I don't exist? Sounds boring." She grinned when he laughed and let him hug her. "You know, Serena-chan, I was thinking. If I'm half-Saiyajin, and you're full blooded, wouldn't Ryoma be three-quarters Saiyajin and one-quarter human, like Shanaa?" Gohan asked, looking over at Serena. She nodded and watched Shanaa's eyes widen. "We have something in common!" She cried, smiling madly. Ryoma nodded and grinned.
"So, where's he sleeping, Mom?" Reoko asked. "OH SHIT! That's right... um... do we HAVE a spare bedroom, Ma?" She looked over at Bulma who seemed to be concentrating. "I think so... OH! We have that room across from Shanaa's. The one Gohan used to sleep in. He can use that." Shanaa smiled at her grandmother and then looked at Ryoma. "I hope you don't snore." He teased, smiling down at her. She stuck her tongue out at him and then laughed. "Not half as loud as Granpa. You can hear him clear across the street." Vejita raised an eyebrow and pointed his fork at her. "You better watch yourself, Kodomo. I'll come into your room and sleep on the floor and keep you up all night." Serena laughed. "You're going to live in a house with five full-blooded Saiyajin, five half-Saiyajin, and one who's three-quarters Saiyajin. You better get used to the snoring fast, or you wont be able to sleep at all." She teased, her lips spreading into a wicked smile.
That night as Shanaa helped Ryoma clear out the dusty bedroom and put clean sheets on the mattress, she eyed him and stopped what she was doing. "What? Have I got something on my face?" He asked, smiling at her. She shook her head and tossed a pillow to the head of the bed. "What's wrong, Imoto?" He asked, putting his hands on his hips. "Nothing, really. I just don't see it." "See what?" He asked, looking a little confused. "I don't see my mom in you at all. I don't see her anywhere." She said softly. Ryoma laughed and rolled his eyes. "Would you like to see the scar I got when she cut the royal crest into me?" He asked, lifting his shirt and turning around. It was true. He had the same deep scar near his tail that she and the twins had. Serena had asked Vejita to do it when they were very young and said it was so she could tell they were her children. Besides, only royal children usually got the mark. If he was truly Serena's child, this was the raw proof. "Oh." She said in a very small voice. He smiled at her and lowered his shirt, patting her head. "Don't worry. You'll see Kaasan in me in no time."
Shanaa just nodded and continued to help him with the bed, laughing when he picked up a pillow and bashed her over the head with it. "HEY!" She giggled, picking one up, trying to hit him with it as he ran out of the room, down the stairs and out into the rain. She managed to hit him after slipping in the mud, the soggy pillow flying from her fingers to hit him square in the face. She laughed and smiled up at him from the mud and watched as he shook his head and pelted her with the pillow. "Come on, Kaasan will have my ass if you come in the house looking like that." He picked her up and carried her inside, sneaking past Serena's room and back up the stairs where he set her on her feet in the bathroom. "Clean yourself up and I'll clean the floor when you're done." He left the bathroom, shutting the door behind him. Shanaa smiled a little to herself and pulled her muddy clothes off, stepping under the slightly warm water. * He's not so bad... * She thought, rinsing the mud from her hair before she shampooed it. * Something about him still bothers me though. Is it because he's Gohan's son or just because he's a 'Son' man in general? * She bit her tongue and shrugged at the question, scrubbing the rest of her body down with the bar of soap from the little dish in the corner. She got halfway through scrubbing her chest when the door opened. "HEY!" She shouted, pulling the curtain aside. Goten put his finger to his lips and shut the door behind him. Shanaa blushed as he shed his own clothes and stepped into the shower with her, pulling her close and lowering his head to kiss her. "Do you trust me, Shanaa?" He asked softly. Shanaa nodded and dropped the bar of soap as she put her arms around his neck.

O.O
I didn't want to end it like that, but hinting at lemon is fun. ^_^
oh well.
I think I'll throw in a little lemon later on, before I continue the
fight. (sighs) I'm off to get some more coffee and figure out how I'm gonna
tie this all together.
