Betsy was screaming his name when Vegeta woke aggravated, red lights were flashing and the ship was shaking profusely. Trunks was in his doorway, blue eyes wide in fear. Vegeta snapped awake, quickly following his son to the control room only to find the biggest meteor was heading straight in their path. But the worst news was, the manual steering controls had been destroy by the multiple rocks that had been hitting the ship for the past two hours. “Shut off all power when it hits. Command left booster on.” Vegeta turned to his terrified son. “Power up.”
“Is it going to hit us?”
“There’s a stupid question.” Vegeta growled looking down on the control panels began flipping switches and pressing buttons.
“Guns activated.” Betsy announced. Vegeta rolled his eyes on the obvious and fired his laser beam guns. But compared to this mile long boulder, it was like hitting it with a flashlight. Vegeta’s fingers rolled over the keyboards. Bulma had to have put in stronger voltage guns then that. “Why don’t you just ask me? I know everything on this freakin’ ship. Men! Always have to do things themselves.”
“Destroy this damn thing then.”
“Duh! Thought about it already.” She began mumbling to herself as buttons were being triggered on the board. “Atomic Fire ready, Captain.” She mocked, proud of herself for the little snide remark.
“That will kill us!” Trunks outraged. “We’re too close.”
“Well which way do you want to die?” She screamed. “By rock, or by blast. And let me inform you, you have more of a chance to live by the blast.”
“Shut up and fire.” Vegeta demanded, grabbing his son’s arm and leaving the control room.
“Where’s Mischa?” He tried to pull away to find her but was detained by his father’s hand. He was pulled into the room and sighed happily upon seeing her. He bent down and patted her head which she leaned into. “What’s going to happen, Dad.”
“Nothing, if you power up, boy. Stage two, now. And hold on to something.” Vegeta shut the door to the bedroom and quickly gathered enough energy to Super Sayian two. The atomic bomb hit with a loud pop before the ship quaked in unimaginable tremors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~```````
It was Bulma worst fear. A man was running toward her as fast as he could. Nesa saw it too as she dried off Bra. “Who’s that.” Annika asked while he dried off Jory.
Bulma stood from her chair and ran as fast she could. “What!” She screamed.
“It’s the ship!” And together they ran back to the communications lung that watched Vegeta progression into space on a monitor and all of Betsy’s movements. “The manual drive has been destroyed by the first impact of the meteoar shower before we could get the shields up. Vegeta knew. But we thought it was safe passage.”
“What happened?” She saved her card in the detector and was allowed access to the room.
“A large part of the planet that wasn’t reduced to rubble. We got the atomic fire blaster ready but it was too close.”
“Where are they?”
“They are drifting east. Far from their destination. Communication have been nothing. Betsy is the only one to talk to us. She says they are alive but unconscious. And they are about to enter an unknown atmosphere.”
“How long did you wait to tell me this.”
“It all happened so fast. Within one minute this all happened.”
“Will they land safely?”
“Mrs. Briefs. You built that thing. You know it will.”
“Alright. Continue to make contact. I need to go talk to someone. I will have my cell on me, call me instantly if anything changes.”
~~~~~~~~~``````
He awoke quickly hearing the loud commotion that had just occurred. From the sound and the hard jolt that had awakened him, they had crash landed. Vegeta shook himself free of the bed that had toppled on top of him after losing consciousness from the lack of oxygen. He searched wildly for his son. He saw Mischa who was licking his face. The boy laughed loudly and looked over to his father, “Easy Landing, huh?” He gripped onto the female’s fur and hauled himself up from the floor.
“Computer.”
“About time you woke up.”
“Where are we?”
“I don’t know this planet. But it is in the Fredon Section. Twenty miles from where we were hit.”
“Damages?”
“Steering controls destroyed. Right booster destroyed. Laser guns destroyed. There was a fire in the kitchen so all your food is destroyed. The gravity chargers are destroyed. The inner shield is damaged. The outer shield is destroyed--”
Trunks cut it feeling his father’s temper fixing to dive. “Betsy, what’s working?”
“I am. And engines 1, 2, 3, and 4 are all working. Electricity is fine. Water pumps are working--”
“Enough.” Vegeta growled. “Operate the bots and clean up the ship.”
“You just survived a major crash all because of me and my creator. Can’t we even get a thank you. Which by the way, they are calling you.”
Vegeta twisted his way through the destructed paths of the ship till he got to the communications room. Her blue eyes were wide with worry. “We are fine.”
“Show me my son, Vegeta.”
“I’m here mom.”
Bulma sighed heavily, relieved at the sight of him but went back to Vegeta “I’m sending, Goku.”
“No, we are fine.”
“How do you plan on fixing the ship?”
“I know the things I need. I will find it here, or find another ship.” Which is something he would prefer so he wouldn’t have to be constantly tracked by his mate and her twenty four hour surveillance. “Do not send Kakarot.” Vegeta left the ship quickly caring nil for the woman that was calling him back.
As Vegeta stepped out onto the red deserts of a deserted planet, his spirits dropped. “Shit.”
“What?”
“Computer. Shot anyone that comes near this ship. Of all the fucking planets.” Vegeta growled, throwing himself into the air.
Trunks was right beside him, “What’s wrong with this one?” He kept his eyes on Mischa however he ran on the sandy ground with as much speed as them.
“Everything.”
“Well what is it?”
“Go back to the ship.”
“No.”
“Boy!”
“I’m not a kid anymore, Vegeta. What is this planet?”
Vegeta clenched his teeth. He contemplated very seriously over whether or not to knock his kid unconscious and take him back to the ship. But that might even be more dangerous. Should he prepare his son for what he will see? Or since the boy was no longer a ‘kid anymore’ should he let the boy find out on his own? Vegeta glanced at his son. The blue eyes gazing at him with such interest. And fear. “It’s a research planet.”
“That doesn’t sound so bad. What do they research?”
“Any body they can get their hands on.” He felt the boy’s wide eyes on him like the words he spoke were written on him. Vegeta, himself had even been disgusted when he found out about this planet. He had even forced himself to forget this nasty place. But when he caught site of the red desert he knew this was it.
He didn’t know much about this planet and that made him nervous. Never in his life had he stepped foot on it. He didn’t even know what language they spoke and what kind of creatures that they would encounter but he heard stories enough to know that this wasn’t a planet he needed to crash land on.
“Vegeta.” Vegeta cursed himself for the eighth time in the last twenty seconds for ever leaving the control panels. If he had been on it this never would have happened. “Vegeta.” Why didn’t he wake up sooner? How could he sleep so deeply on a ship light years away for his woman? “Dad!”
Vegeta flung his head around and Trunks had stopped and only floated in mid-air. Trunks was panting for air and holding his chest. “What?”
“I can’t. Breathe.” He struggled to bring air into his lungs, gasping as much as he could and as he was doing so his body slowly lowered to the ground.
Vegeta landed beside him. “What is it?”
“I don’t...think... the air...is right?” Mischa sat beside him, nudging his face with her nose.
“I’m having no trouble. Stop this. There is no time.”
“I’m not...” Trunks looked up his father, shaking his head, trying now more desperately for air that wasn’t coming. Anxiety was only making it worse but Trunks couldn’t stop himself from panicking. He couldn’t breath and he felt so sick and light-headed all he wanted was to lie down. Upon that thought, he body fell to the ground and all he remembered was staring up at his father’s eyes.
Vegeta felt for the boy’s pulse and thankfully it was there, but it was weak. He knew he had to get back to the ship but upon picking the boy up in his arms the sand began to crumble. The ground beside him began to rise and soon revealed an open tunnel. Creatures began to crawl their way out of the opening but quickly buried themselves underneath the sand before Vegeta could even catch sight of them. He felt about ten of them circle around him and he watched with speculation. The boy needed oxygen and his ship needed repairs. So it was better to just wait.
The things buried in the sand suddenly jumped from beneath and landed roughly on the ground. Genates. Great. Just great. Genates were a type of snake but with hands and feet and were over twelve feet long. If bitten death would only take a few days but as each day past each limp would slowly rot away and fall off until finally it was the head. A most painful way to die.
Vegeta was relieved however that he knew their language. “I need to repair my ship. And this soldier needs oxygen.”
“And what do we get in return?” The blue one behind him spoke. Vegeta eyed her, this one must be the leader.
“I won’t kill you.”
“Oh, well, of course we’ll help you then.” Vegeta eyed every one of them as they chuckled lightly with sarcastic smiles on their faces. But he didn’t care. As long as they didn’t try to kill him now then he would go with them. He would not have any more blood on his hands. “Follow us.”
I do not trust them, Prince. Please, let us go back to the ship
The boy needs oxygen. I have no choice.
Vegeta against his better judgement followed behind, Mischa on his heals growling low in her throat and keeping her head down and eyes alert ready to strike at any moment. Vegeta kept a layout of the exit in his head, taking note of every turn they made. He knew they were going to need to make a quick exit. They entered a medical room and upon looking around, Vegeta was surprised at what he saw. Other creatures were actually being treated. It was as if a real hospital wing. A brown Ganate stopped them and the female spoke, “Take him. Our atmosphere does not suit his airway.” The ganate reached for Trunks and Vegeta pulled harshly away. “Do you want our help or not?”
“I stay with him.”
“How curious.” The blue girl smiled. “He will be fine. You may check on him after you meet our leader.”
“I’m to trust you.”
“I’m afraid that’s your only choice. Or he does not get fixed and dies.”
Vegeta contemplated his actions. He did not want to kill anymore. And he did know what type of people Ganates were. Sure they could kill, but that didn’t mean they would. And when he knew of this planet as a research facility it was only when Frieza was alive. It’s been twenty years, there’s no chance that it had continued for so long. And another point, this actually looked like a real hospital. “Fine. She goes with him. And if he dies, everyone goes with him.”
“Oh, you and what army?”
Vegeta ignored her disbelief but he could tell the doctor or nurse knew he was serious just by the way it stared at him in fear. Vegeta watched the boy be taken to a gurney where they rolled him in to a different room. Mischa looked back at him, fear and distrust reflected in her eyes but her teeth showed nonetheless, invoking intimidation in everyone they past. He kept a lock on Trunk’s ki just incase it dropped or heightened dramatically.
Ten minutes later, after going through the tunnels that must have formed a maze, they came to in a small, dark room. The smell was horrid, close to the disturbing smell of burning flesh. But soon a light was switched on and revealed the leader of this planet. And not to Vegeta’s surprise it was someone he once knew. He was Frieza’s surgeon on the Ice world. And leader of the research facility.
Vegeta was only stunned for a minute before panic turned him out the door but found that his only exit was blocked by electrifying metal. Gritting his teeth, he turned to face the surgeon only to feel his son’s ki skyrocket.
Mischa! Vegeta concentrated on her form but he got no answer. His heart beat exploded and his gaze now landed on the decaying creature who smiled smugly in his chair. Vegeta’s eyes were swirling black and teal and his body began to tremble with his power. “You of all people should know. I am capable of anything.” He growled through clenched teeth trying to hold back his strength long enough to get a response.
The bald, four foot man smiled his toothless grin. “Now, now, Vegeta, don’t be too hasty. No one is in any danger. The boy is safe and just awoke to find himself in hands of strangers is all. He is fine getting his oxygen.”
“Where is my vanasha?”
“Well...” Vegeta saw the glint in his eyes and went to take a step forward but found himself detained. “As long as your ki is so high, Sayian scum, you will not be able to move. And as for the vanasha, my people have never seen anything like her before.”
Vegeta growled violently creating a light of power in his hand, “Give me reason not to kill you now.”
“Oh, I think you’ll like my reason.” A screen came up from behind the chair the creature sat in. Trunks was wide awake but strapped to a bed with ki depressors, his eyes told Vegeta everything he didn’t want to know. A fear had built up inside Trunks and had left him powerless. What was on the other side of the screen that Trunks was gazing at with such frantic shock, Vegeta could only guess. And it scared him above all to know Trunks now knew acts of hatred so extreme it would steal his pureness of life. Vegeta took his concern off that fact. Things that happened mentally could be fixed. It was physical injuries he needed to look for now. An oxygen mask was wrapped tight around the boy’s face however the creature standing next to him was his main cause for concern. She held a needle up and a sadistic smile.
“What are you doing?”
“Well, I have a problem. And you are going to fix it.”
“Why?”
“Because this boy will soon have the same problem.” And at that moment the needle was injected into his skin.
Vegeta struggled with breath, as the pressure of the force field around him increased with his strength that was surging close to Super Sayian. He kept it back however, not wanting to fall into unconsciousness. For if he did, there was no telling if either of them would make it out of here alive. Gritting his teeth he brought his teal eyes back down to the hunched back man. “What did you give him?”
“Monkey. You know I love my research. But so-called Lord Gideon punished us. All of us. The injection your friend has just received is the same thing that was given to everyone on this planet. A disease I created after many, many trails. And now we are all dying slowly. And painfully.”
“So what is your point.”
“My point is, I don’t have a cure. Gideon, has taken the main ingredient. You get that ingredient, and I will make it for the kid.”
“You wager so much on someone that I don’t give a rat’s ass about.”
“Your right. I took a chance. I knew I wouldn’t be able to trick you, of all people. So if this boy means nothing then I guess kill us. I know you would love to do so. Or, just walk away. Let all of us die the way we deserve to die. Even the boy.”
Vegeta found himself in a bluff that had not gone his way. His mind raced, trying to think to alternatives but none of them were considered his best option. He had no choices. “Fine, but I take him with me.”
“Fine.” A smile produced on his decaying lips. “But you have only a limit time. I was injected with it over two shifts. Meaning I have I one shifts left before I am incapable to using my body. And no one else knows the cure. So two shifts, or the boy dies.”
“What will this do to him?”
The bald man laughed, “Now where’s the fun if I tell you all the surprises.”
Vegeta growled violently, “You will pay for this.”
“Isn’t it funny, how many times I’ve heard that before. But hearing it, finally from you, just makes me complete.”
Vegeta’s cheeks were clenching so hard he thought he was going to crack his teeth but somehow he found himself able to lower his ki enough for the pressure to fade and for him to move. “My ship is--”
“It is already fixed.” Vegeta’s brows knit. “You may think that you have been on this planet for just a short while, but that walk you took was more then a bantam of a shift long. It’s a fun trick we play on new comers.”
Vegeta didn’t like this. He had fallen straight into a trap without even knowing it. He cursed himself on how easy it had been for them. He had been out of the game so long he had forgotten how many things could go wrong. Vegeta cursed himself for allowing all this to happen, right in front of him. “I want my vanasha back.”
The man chuckled almost insanely and Vegeta watched with a gaze of familiarity. He had seen this doctor into action too many times, he was afraid to allow those memories to come back. “I’m afraid, she fought to harshly. It was such a shame, we wanted so much to learn more about her kind.” Vegeta turned his back and saw his exit was now open and he had no problem flying straight to the hospital wing and searching desperately for his son.
Going through those doors that Trunks had been taken earlier before was something that he had not been prepared for. Glass cages on both sides of the hallways were filled with creatures of all different races trapped inside. He past each one slowly, eyes wide with amazed disgust. They wore collars around their neck so tight it had embedded into the skin. Some grew extra body parts, others were dead and decaying. Eyeballs were popped out, appendages were cut off, hanging from the ceiling. Others laid with their insides reversed to the outside still alive because of the machines that were beside them. Though there were some that looked completely healthy, no matter how they lacked of food and nourishment. On closer inspection of these prisoners, Vegeta found the worst viruses that were ever created.
The exit was close and he walked through those doors with a sigh of relief finding his son still strapped on the gurney that held him upright. His blue eyes were staring however, straight ahead without so much as blinking. Vegeta followed the location. The only reaction he allowed himself to let show was a twitch of the eye. There was Mischa, held up with a strap around her neck and torso, a rope had been wrapped around each leg and had been pulled until each appendage tore from the body. But the worst part was: She was still alive.
Vegeta grit his teeth, raising his palm and catching her eyes. Don’t tell my father He nodded and she shut her eyes. He blasted her body from existence. Vegeta looked over at the doctor that stared on with wide eyes. “Release him.” She nodded with shaking fingers and typed in the access code. Once his son was released, Vegeta couldn’t hold back his power as he let another blast rip through her. He felt no remorse for it. She had the devil’s spirit through and through.
Vegeta went to Trunks finding the boy in too much shock to move. He lifted his son up in his arms. “When you wake, you will forget this.” He promised and then pinched a nerve on the boy’s neck allowing him to blissfully sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~````
He got back to the ship with no relief with what he was going to face when Trunks woke up. The moment he stepped in, Bulma’s voice sounded. “It’s about time you came back.” Betsy ranted.
“I told you to kill any that came here.”
Her defensiveness rose, “They said you sent them! And besides they fixed me up big time, with bigger boosters and more food. You should be happy. Where’s Trunks, I don’t hear him.”
Vegeta ignored her, “Take off, immediately.”
“Yeah, okay. Where’s the tiger?”
“Dead.”
“Ohhh.” She kept quiet after that and cranked her engines.
Vegeta lowered his son on the bed as the ship took off. He sat on the bedside, looking down at the sleeping child. Oh, how he had failed. No matter how strong he was now, he was helpless. And it was all because of the biggest mistake he ever made. Trusting a stranger.
He felt himself give in to the guilt that almost strangled him. His breath came in heavy pants as anger for himself built higher and higher.
How would he explain what the boy saw? How to make it okay?
Vegeta desperately wished the woman was here. She could wrap the boy up in her arms and take away all the frightening things he had seen. Just as she had done for Trunks when he was a boy.
Vegeta shook his head. He couldn’t let Bulma know about this. He had to fix it himself. He had to figure it out on his own. There was a good chance Trunks wouldn’t remember what had happened. He would think it all a bad dream and would even wonder if they had actually crashed and if there was ever a beautiful tiger named Mischa. His innocence would still be fresh and alive.
Vegeta stood. He wouldn’t think about the other half of that chance. The chance were Trunks knew everything that happened and blamed him for all of it.
Ten minutes later, after going through the tunnels that must have formed a maze, they came to in a small, dark room. The smell was horrid, close to the disturbing smell of burning flesh. But soon a light was switched on and revealed the leader of this planet. And not to Vegeta’s surprise it was someone he once knew. He was Frieza’s surgeon on the Ice world. And leader of the research facility.
Vegeta was only stunned for a minute before panic turned him out the door but found that his only exit was blocked by electrifying metal. Gritting his teeth, he turned to face the surgeon only to feel his son’s ki skyrocket.
Mischa! Vegeta concentrated on her form but he got no answer. His heart beat exploded and his gaze now landed on the decaying creature who smiled smugly in his chair. Vegeta’s eyes were swirling black and teal and his body began to tremble with his power. “You of all people should know. I am capable of anything.” He growled through clenched teeth trying to hold back his strength long enough to get a response.
The bald, four foot man smiled his toothless grin. “Now, now, Vegeta, don’t be too hasty. No one is in any danger. The boy is safe and just awoke to find himself in hands of strangers is all. He is fine getting his oxygen.”
“Where is my vanasha?”
“Well...” Vegeta saw the glint in his eyes and went to take a step forward but found himself detained. “As long as your ki is so high, Sayian scum, you will not be able to move. And as for the vanasha, my people have never seen anything like her before.”
Vegeta growled violently creating a light of power in his hand, “Give me reason not to kill you now.”
“Oh, I think you’ll like my reason.” A screen came up from behind the chair the creature sat in. Trunks was wide awake but strapped to a bed with ki depressors, his eyes told Vegeta everything he didn’t want to know. A fear had built up inside Trunks and had left him powerless. What was on the other side of the screen that Trunks was gazing at with such frantic shock, Vegeta could only guess. And it scared him above all to know Trunks now knew acts of hatred so extreme it would steal his pureness of life. Vegeta took his concern off that fact. Things that happened mentally could be fixed. It was physical injuries he needed to look for now. An oxygen mask was wrapped tight around the boy’s face however the creature standing next to him was his main cause for concern. She held a needle up and a sadistic smile.
“What are you doing?”
“Well, I have a problem. And you are going to fix it.”
“Why?”
“Because this boy will soon have the same problem.” And at that moment the needle was injected into his skin.
Vegeta struggled with breath, as the pressure of the force field around him increased with his strength that was surging close to Super Sayian. He kept it back however, not wanting to fall into unconsciousness. For if he did, there was no telling if either of them would make it out of here alive. Gritting his teeth he brought his teal eyes back down to the hunched back man. “What did you give him?”
“Monkey. You know I love my research. But so-called Lord Gideon punished us. All of us. The injection your friend has just received is the same thing that was given to everyone on this planet. A disease I created after many, many trails. And now we are all dying slowly. And painfully.”
“So what is your point.”
“My point is, I don’t have a cure. Gideon, has taken the main ingredient. You get that ingredient, and I will make it for the kid.”
“You wager so much on someone that I don’t give a rat’s ass about.”
“Your right. I took a chance. I knew I wouldn’t be able to trick you, of all people. So if this boy means nothing then I guess kill us. I know you would love to do so. Or, just walk away. Let all of us die the way we deserve to die. Even the boy.”
Vegeta found himself in a bluff that had not gone his way. His mind raced, trying to think to alternatives but none of them were considered his best option. He had no choices. “Fine, but I take him with me.”
“Fine.” A smile produced on his decaying lips. “But you have only a limit time. I was injected with it over two shifts. Meaning I have I one shifts left before I am incapable to using my body. And no one else knows the cure. So two shifts, or the boy dies.”
“What will this do to him?”
The bald man laughed, “Now where’s the fun if I tell you all the surprises.”
Vegeta growled violently, “You will pay for this.”
“Isn’t it funny, how many times I’ve heard that before. But hearing it, finally from you, just makes me complete.”
Vegeta’s cheeks were clenching so hard he thought he was going to crack his teeth but somehow he found himself able to lower his ki enough for the pressure to fade and for him to move. “My ship is--”
“It is already fixed.” Vegeta’s brows knit. “You may think that you have been on this planet for just a short while, but that walk you took was more then a bantam of a shift long. It’s a fun trick we play on new comers.”
Vegeta didn’t like this. He had fallen straight into a trap without even knowing it. He cursed himself on how easy it had been for them. He had been out of the game so long he had forgotten how many things could go wrong. Vegeta cursed himself for allowing all this to happen, right in front of him. “I want my vanasha back.”
The man chuckled almost insanely and Vegeta watched with a gaze of familiarity. He had seen this doctor into action too many times, he was afraid to allow those memories to come back. “I’m afraid, she fought to harshly. It was such a shame, we wanted so much to learn more about her kind.” Vegeta turned his back and saw his exit was now open and he had no problem flying straight to the hospital wing and searching desperately for his son.
Going through those doors that Trunks had been taken earlier before was something that he had not been prepared for. Glass cages on both sides of the hallways were filled with creatures of all different races trapped inside. He past each one slowly, eyes wide with amazed disgust. They wore collars around their neck so tight it had embedded into the skin. Some grew extra body parts, others were dead and decaying. Eyeballs were popped out, appendages were cut off, hanging from the ceiling. Others laid with their insides reversed to the outside still alive because of the machines that were beside them. Though there were some that looked completely healthy, no matter how they lacked of food and nourishment. On closer inspection of these prisoners, Vegeta found the worst viruses that were ever created.
The exit was close and he walked through those doors with a sigh of relief finding his son still strapped on the gurney that held him upright. His blue eyes were staring however, straight ahead without so much as blinking. Vegeta followed the location. The only reaction he allowed himself to let show was a twitch of the eye. There was Mischa, held up with a strap around her neck and torso, a rope had been wrapped around each leg and had been pulled until each appendage tore from the body. But the worst part was: She was still alive.
Vegeta grit his teeth, raising his palm and catching her eyes. Don’t tell my father He nodded and she shut her eyes. He blasted her body from existence. Vegeta looked over at the doctor that stared on with wide eyes. “Release him.” She nodded with shaking fingers and typed in the access code. Once his son was released, Vegeta couldn’t hold back his power as he let another blast rip through her. He felt no remorse for it. She had the devil’s spirit through and through.
Vegeta went to Trunks finding the boy in too much shock to move. He lifted his son up in his arms. “When you wake, you will forget this.” He promised and then pinched a nerve on the boy’s neck allowing him to blissfully sleep.
He got back to the ship with no relief with what he was going to face when Trunks woke up. The moment he stepped in, Bulma’s voice sounded. “It’s about time you came back.” Betsy ranted.
“I told you to kill any that came here.”
Her defensiveness rose, “They said you sent them! And besides they fixed me up big time, with bigger boosters and more food. You should be happy. Where’s Trunks, I don’t hear him.”
Vegeta ignored her, “Take off, immediately.”
“Yeah, okay. Where’s the tiger?”
“Dead.”
“Ohhh.” She kept quiet after that and cranked her engines.
Vegeta lowered his son on the bed as the ship took off. He sat on the bedside, looking down at the sleeping child. Oh, how he had failed. No matter how strong he was now, he was helpless. And it was all because of the biggest mistake he ever made. Trusting a stranger.
He felt himself give in to the guilt that almost strangled him. His breath came in heavy pants as anger for himself built higher and higher.
How would he explain what the boy saw? How to make it okay?
Vegeta desperately wished the woman was here. She could wrap the boy up in her arms and take away all the frightening things he had seen. Just as she had done for Trunks when he was a boy.
Vegeta shook his head. He couldn’t let Bulma know about this. He had to fix it himself. He had to figure it out on his own. There was a good chance Trunks wouldn’t remember what had happened. He would think it all a bad dream and would even wonder if they had actually crashed and if there was ever a beautiful tiger named Mischa. His innocence would still be fresh and alive.
Vegeta stood. He wouldn’t think about the other half of that chance. The chance were Trunks knew everything that happened and blamed him for all of it.
