Several variations of Amorites past them with looks of pure hatred, but they saluted their king and tried to ignore the two intruders. Vegeta found all of this confusing, everything that he thought he knew about Amorites has changed in the two decades. First of all, was the light. Amorites lived on pitch black planets where no light could be seen for light years away. Not even stars. How can they now operate on a fully lit ship?
They got to the exit of the docking bay and Vegeta was not surprised at all to see the interior of the ship to be hollow. Hundreds of thousands of Amorites flew this way and that, some hanging from the ceiling while newborn bats waddled on the floor. Trunks gasped at the sight, making more noise then a mute should make. Vegeta glared at the boy and instantly those blue eyes lowered to the floor.
They all flew up to the very top deck which was a bout two miles up and stepped foot in what Vegeta would call a observation deck because the ceiling was see through, yet there was a large table at which they were forced to sit. Trunks had a hard time figuring out how to place his butt on the ‘v’ shaped seat without it hurting. But the stares he was receiving bothered him too much to care anymore. He winced visibly, trying to adjust his goods. Trunks looked up and smiled nervously but upon the glare he was receiving from his father, he lowered his head again.
Vegeta shook his head, but was amused nonetheless. Trunks depression seemed to have gone for the minute.
“Tell me something, Prince. Why have you come to kill me?” Lord Gideon sat at the head of the table, his wings spread up to cause intimidation. Which for Trunks it worked. The massive black, tissue paper thin wings were amazing by themselves but when put on a body like this one’s it was enough to cause a fear to shiver down his spine.
“You took something. Part of a cure from the Genates.”
Humor vibrated in his throat, which made an awful ear aching sound, only Trunks however held his ears. When it was over the boy glared. “Why would you, of all creatures, want to help the Genates?” Vegeta unconsciously brought his eyes to Trunks, only to realize that it had not gone unnoticed. “Oh, I see. And how much time is left?”
“A keling.”
“You’ve been to Rehmeraton.” Vegeta nodded and his eyes for a only second went to Trunks. His blue eyes once again held tears as much as he had tried to keep them back.
“So you were the stranger that came and went without a word. I was about to head there myself, to speak with Zolo. You met him?” Vegeta nodded. “He wanted you off that planet pretty damn quick. Any idea why?”
Vegeta shrugged. “I wasn’t welcome there.”
“And it has nothing to do with the daughter that is now missing?” Vegeta shrugged. The black teeth of the Amorite barred viciously showing his long three inch fangs. “You’re lying. Zolo gave you Mischa. She is the only one that knows where the crystals are. Where is she, Vegeta!” His three taloned hand smashed on the steel table.
Vegeta smirked, “Where is your subtleness now?”
Lord Gideon paced in the large opening of the room, mumbling to himself. Vegeta watched with confused amusement. He wondered if he should tell him that Mishca was dead, and that the ‘crystals’ will never be found.
“Let us try...”All eyes went to the entrance. “A different approach.” Every creature stood except Trunks and Vegeta as they stared at the new animal. The whiteness of her skin nearly blinded the Sayians for it shined like a god. The one foot long horn protruded from the forehead of the beautiful four legged horse. She stood ten feet tall and the white flicking tail added to her length of eight foot. And her white feathered wings tucked up against her sides, going slightly past her hind legs. Her light blue eye gazed at Vegeta with such intensity it left him speechless. Upon coming back into himself, Vegeta saw the symbol that glowed upon her wide chest.
“You. You are the first.” Amazement caused him to stutter. Her presence was absolutely fulfilling.
“And you are the last.” She lowered her head and bended her front knees into a bow. Her voice so hypnotic but yet it echoed as if two voices were speaking at once.
Vegeta rose from his chair and out of respect for her, he bowed fully for the first time in over twenty years.
“My name is Kitaya. I never thought I would meet the Savior. It is an honor.” She rose from her bow and took her full stance, stepping closer, walking as if on a cloud for her hooves made no sound. She walked past the thirty foot long table, and as she did the soldiers took a seat once more until she reached Gideon who stopped in his pacing and stared upon her with hated respect. She was two feet taller then him which obviously bothered him because he refused to look up while he spoke with her.
Vegeta looked over at Trunks who was still ogling the Pure horn. He kicked the boy from underneath the table and received a shocked look from the boy who then folded his arms and slouched.
“Fine.” Gideon bit taking his seat back at the table with Kitaya at his side. “As much as I don’t care for you. I am outnumbered. So instead I will explain and maybe then you will not find out it difficult to tell me where Mischa is.” He gave one last glance at the Pure horn and sighed. “Many things have changed. After the fall of the Cold empire, the universe became free. It was so horrible to live and it stayed that way for eleven years. Many tried to control it but none succeeded. There was chaos and rebellion, and celebration. I took it upon myself to start a new universe. I had to prove my power but overall I succeeded in bringing peace to over a hundred planets. And for eight years, everything was going well until, these creatures came from the darkest of space. They have no power, and cannot kill what does step on their planet. But they are very persuasive. They captured hundreds of my people and half of the Pure horn race. They search for crystals. What these crystals do, I know not. They used to be in Frieza’s possession. So I have been going back over the Old Army, searching for anyone with information. I even have betrayed my own allies. Because every keling that passes, they kill two of my people. I found out from a seer that Mischa knows where they are. Now.” He exhaled heavily. “I will not harm her. I just need to know where they are.”
Vegeta stared upon Gideon contemplating if he was telling the truth and was actually a good ruler, or was lying out of his ass. However gazing up at Kitaya, he had no choice but to believe him. “Mischa was killed. On the research planet.” Vegeta watched Trunks cover his hand with his eyes.
Gideon’s long fingernail tapped against his temple before leaning over to a soldier, “Explain to Zolo. Give our condolences.” He straightened while that soldier took off. “Mischa was a very powerful vanasha. She first started the safe planet for rogue soldiers.” Vegeta was confused on how quickly the Amorite’s demeanor went from a cold asshole into a grieving soul. “I ruined it for her. I killed her people, to help save my own. And she had no idea why.” He stood from his seat and went far on the other side of the room to gaze out into space.
Pure Kitaya stepped forward, “She mentioned nothing then?”
“No.” Vegeta waited for a few more moments, impatiently trying to think of ways to bring up the subject of the cure. But as known, subtleness was not one of his virtues. “I need the ingredient.”
Gideon walked back over, “Then you must help us.”
“I only have a keling.” He bit.
“Then you must be quick about it, won’t you?”
Vegeta growled ignoring the questioning gaze of his son. Trunks was more then likely confused on why he needed the cure. And what the cure could heal. “I could just kill you.”
“You could. And never get the cure. You don’t even know what ingredient you need, do you?”
Vegeta flew his chair back in his anger and as he did so every soldier stood and activated their weapons. “Dad.” Trunks whispered in question, only to receive a glare so powerful, Trunks felt himself shrink.
Vegeta cursed the wretched boy. He looked at the two rulers, wondering if they had understand what Trunks had said, but from their looks he concluded they had figured it out. “Leave us.” He growled and thankfully Gideon ordered his soldiers out who took a protesting Trunks with them. When only Gideon and Kitaya were left, Vegeta spoke, “I will help, but give me the cure first. I will come back.”
“And why should I? Help you, of all creatures that ever worked for Frieza?”
An instinct that was no longer Sayian was trying to rip through the skin. And he found himself releasing words he never thought he would utter, “Yes, I was the one that destroyed millions. But my son was not. Do not punish him for faults that are not his own.”
“And how are we to know, that boy hasn’t taken the traits of his father? Why would I save an offspring of a despot?”
Vegeta flew at him, gripping his black neck. His eyes were swirling with teal as the Legendary boiled to be set free. “Let me explain something to you. I am more powerful then you can believe. I will get what I came for even if I have to rip apart each and every one of your kind--”
Gideon racked his six inch nails down Vegeta’s arm which instantly won his freedom. Vegeta held his bleeding appendage while Gideon rubbed his throat. “Desperation. is not. a good color on you. Prince Vegeta.” He panted between breaths.
Both men straightened to glare long and hard till Pure Kitaya stepped between them, blinding their anger with her bright skin. “I will give you the cure.”
Gideon shouted, “That boy--”
“That boy, is innocent.” Kitaya cut in, turning her blue eyes to the Amorite.
“You have looked in his eyes?” Gideon asked with suspicion.
“Yes. He does not even know he is sick. However. I do sense something. And that something happened on the Research planet. He might know where the crystals are. Bring the boy back in.” Gideon made the order and soon, Trunks appeared in the doorway with his head down. Pure Kitaya approached him which alerted the boy to look up, only to catch eyes with the Pure horn. “Little one, Mischa was with you when she died.”
Trunks eyes went to Vegeta. After he received a nod he spoke, “Yes, ma’am.”
Gideon grumbled, looking to Vegeta, “What is he saying? What language is that?”
Pure Kitaya could understand however for she changed her tone to Japanese. “She must have spoken to you.” But that was when Trunks looked away and refused to speak again. Pure Kitaya glanced over to Vegeta but his black eyes were on the boy. She leaned down, nudging his cheek with her long snout. “Having so much power and not being able to save someone is the worst feeling in the universe, isn’t it?” He nodded. “I am not capable of saving my people right now, no matter how much power I hold. But you can.” His blue eye rose up to her. Looking upon her calmed his sadness. “Did she say anything about crystals?”
Trunks eyes lowered. “No. I only saw them. At least, I think it’s them.”
“You saw them?”
“Her mind opened up to me as...as she was...dying. I saw everything. I saw her whole life. And I saw why she doesn’t trust him.”
Gideon noticed their blue eyes on him and he straightened. “What?”
“Why?” Question Pure Kitaya.
“He was in love with her.” Trunks shook his head, “I shouldn’t be saying any of this. It isn’t my right.”
“If you know of a reason not to trust him, I need to know it.”
“It was her reason. After the things he said, when she denied him. She was afraid when she saw him again. She didn’t want to tell him. She kept a secret that could have saved her people. I don’t think he should know.”
“Child. I sense a darkness in Gideon. However, I know he is good. Just as your father. Mischa, made a mistake in thinking she could not trust him. If she had known I was here, she would have told me.”
“Yes. I know.”
“Where are the crystals?”
“I don’t know where really. I can only give details of the surrounding. They are in a glass box, within a dark room. Yet the crystals are shaped like roses, and they shine to fill that whole room with light when potential owners are near. The ceiling is...a giant clock, I think.”
Pure Kitaya looked to Gideon, “He says, it’s in a room with a giant clock.”
Gideon’s yellow eyes widened as he stepped forward. “That doesn’t make sense. Why would they want something they already have?”
Vegeta was finally interested in who it was that was in control of things at the moment. “Who are they?”
Pure Kitaya misty blue eyes shined at him. “They are ghosts.” She whispered, fear vibrating in her voice. “Terrible ghosts. They are invisible but visible, they are solid but translucent, they are pure, and they are evil. They are--”
“Demons.” Vegeta whispered lowering his gaze to the floor, his mouth loose from shock as memories began to rake through his mind. But as he stood there, his head shook. “No, you cannot be right. They hold no power. They have no reason.”
“They have power. Being able to shift through the universe, they were capable of taking over a hundred of my kind without my knowledge. And on their own land they can kill and not be killed. If you have ever seen one you would understand--”
“I faced Queen Kana.”
Pure Kitaya slowly stepped to him, lowering her head as if harboring a secret, “Queen Kana, has become different. Some believe she is possessed.”
Vegeta shook his head, hating creatures and their paranoias. “Demons cannot be possessed.”
Lord Gideon pounded his paw on the table, “Then what answers do you have? If you know anything, then tell us what has happened? She tortured and killed twenty-six of my kind. She will stop at nothing till she has those crystals.”
“If she wanted this universe, it would be hers already.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Queen Kana has powers that are unlike any other. She can warp time. Not just visit dimensions but make dimensions. She can demolish anything she wishes. But she wouldn’t. Queen Kana, is not a destroyer.”
“No Dementia has a power like that.”
“Queen Kana is not a normal Demon.
“Then explain why they are coming after us.”
“Someone else is controlling them.” Vegeta said logically.
Gideon approached Vegeta with his wings spread wide in his anger. “It is Queen Kana on that screen, giving orders for the death of my people!”
Pure Kitaya suddenly opened her white feathered wings, blocking out the darkness Gideon possessed, blinding all that stood to watched. Lord Gideon shrunk back, burying his wings protectively behind him, almost seeming apologetic in gesture. Pure Kitaya lowered her wings, giving her head a slight shake. “We will get no where if we fight. Prince Vegeta has made a point. Queen Kana, if what Vegeta says is true, she has no need for those crystals.”
“So what does that mean?” Lord Gideon questioned.
“It is not her.” Vegeta stated. “It can be a hologram. Or a robot. Or even, a shape shifter.”
“We must go there.” Pure Kitaya stated but Lord Gideon interrupted.
“Who here knows how to get that planet! No one has ever stepped foot--”
“I have.” Vegeta had all eyes on him. “Where are we?”
“In Sector 8 5 Ty.”
“Do you know it in Frieza’s language?”
Kitaya answered, “01 N 1.”
“We passed it. It’s in the black hole over in Quadrant S 6i.”
Lord Gideon chuckled which once again caused Trunks to wince at the sound. “You want to go in a black hole?”
“The rumors of black holes are just rumors. People do not know how to navigate in them and that is why they get lost. I know.”
