Forbidden Encounter

Chapter 9

It had been a week since that day. Yamcha had come over every day helping with packing, and carrying things to the moving truck. Chichi and Goten had had plenty of help trying to get their things packed up, but none of it from Gohan, then again he hadn't been home much either. That left Chichi, Goten and Yamcha with a lot to do, but the three of them had had a nice, friendly dinner, and supper and now that Goten had gone to bed, Chichi and Yamcha were taking a break, before packing up the bedroom furniture. It was a beautiful night, stars all over the sky, and not a cloud in sight, as they sat on the front porch.

So much had happened, Gohan had come and gone several times since that terrible morning, and presently he was gone again, saying he wanted to see Piccolo. Her older son seemed so different now. Chichi wasn't quite sure what to make of her son's odd behavior, and cold treatment of herself and Goten, but Yamcha had tried to assure her that he'd be alright, he was just being a teenager.

Her gaze shifted to Yamcha, he was watching the stars, and she noticed again how handsome he was. Even with the scars he was still good looking. He was still single too. She blushed, wondering again why she kept thinking about that. It was hard to believe she was single after 18 years of marriage. She'd been married pretty young, and had never even dated anyone but Goku… Every time the door opened over the last week, she always looked up, expecting to see her husband and his goofy smile… But he hadn't come back. In her heart she knew he wouldn't. She didn't know what she'd say to him anyway, but it was still hard to believe he was gone. His long absence was getting harder on the boys too.

" Well, it's gonn'a take some getting used to… " Yamcha sighed, looking around at the trees and the open sky.

" What is? "

" You and the boys moving. "

" I don't know what else to do, Yamcha. There's just too many memories here… " Chichi whispered. " Training in the yard, taking long walks in the woods. Cooking in the kitchen, folding laundry… I still remember the day Krillin came over to try to tell me Goku was dead. That day you brought Goku home sick with the heart virus… I think I'm going crazy. I look around and see images of him everywhere… I don't want to believe he's gone… but I want to kill him for what he did to our boys! "

" Just to them? " Yamcha gave her an expectant look, until she blushed and looked away. " It's alright to feel hurt, Chichi. I still feel it sometimes when I see her with Vegeta. Sometimes I still can't believe they can even live together, the way they ignore each other, squabble and disagree. But I've also seen the way they looked at each other when they thought they were alone… If he ever hurts Bulma, I swear I'll kill him or I'll die trying, but I know that he won't. "

" Ever since that day Goku and I walked in on those two napping together… I just kept wishing that someday Goku would hold me that way, so strong and possessive… Sorry, I guess you probably didn't want to hear that. "

Yamcha chuckled, " I guess if I've got to hear it, I'd rather know she's happy. "

" How can you be so… so calm about it? Bulma cheated on you! "

" It was a long time ago… I wasn't completely honest with her either, I just didn't want to settle down and get married yet, and I knew she did and that's when we started having problems. You know I still remember the day the gravity room blew up, as we were getting ready for our date… We never went, because she refused to leave the prince of all stubborn monkeys alone but I had been meaning to tell her that I had wanted to call it off between us. Just for a while maybe… but I think I always knew she sort of liked him. I think at first maybe she just liked knowing she could push the buttons of one of the most powerful fighters in the universe and not get blasted, after all, she told him he needed a bath and got him to wear a pink shirt with yellow pants. All on the same day, no less, who else can say that? "

Chichi laughed she'd seen the picture Mrs. Briefs had snapped from a safe hiding spot, but it was still pretty hard to believe. " I just don't understand how you can take it so well… It just hurts so much. After everything I've put up with and loved him through… "

" I know Chichi, I know, you've been one of the strongest people I've ever known. Having Gohan kidnapped at least twice, and Goku dying in the fight with Radditz… I guess I can't think of a more appropriate wife for the strongest warrior in the universe than you. I guess Saiyans are kind of a law unto themselves though. The bonding thing is pretty hard to believe, but I've seen Bulma and Vegeta argue telepathically, and I know that it's real. "

" Gohan said Vegeta told him he met that girl at Master Roshi's party… I can't believe he would betray us for one night. Did you see her, Yamcha? "

" The only person there that I didn't recognize was one of Marron's friends… some hot red head that Krillin assured me I made an ass of myself hitting on for a while before I left. I had a little too much to drink that night, I guess. " Yamcha admitted sheepishly.

Chichi sighed and put her head on his shoulder. " You such a nice guy, Yamcha, it's a shame you're still single. "

" No it isn't. " He chuckled. " If I had a family of my own I wouldn't be here helping you in the middle of the night, you know. Come on; let's go see if we can't get some more of the furniture on the truck. "

" Alright, and tomorrow, we start on the attic. " Chichi groaned. " I just can't thank you enough for all of your help, Yamcha. "

" Nonsense Chichi. With the baseball season over, there's not much else for me to do. I'm glad you called me. "

" Me too. " She smiled, following him back inside.

Jenna and Goku were lying on the couch watching a movie and eating pizza. Jenna lay on top of him, half asleep dressed in a tee shirt and shorts, and Goku wore jeans and a button down shirt that she had playfully started unbuttoning about five minutes into the movie, then had to stop to check the pizza, and she hadn't gotten back to it yet. He was so warm, just like a favorite quilt, only better, since he kept his arms around her. She sighed softly, putting her plate onto the coffee table and nestling her face against his neck. She couldn't help smiling as he started to purr, his arms drawing her closer. The movie was almost over, and she really wanted to watch the other one, but she already knew her possessive lover wasn't going to let her move, and she didn't really want to either. Wrapped in his arms she felt safe and warm, and content enough to start purring herself.

But, going to class this week had been extremely awkward, since he insisted on walking her to every one of them and nearly pounced on her as soon as she walked out the door of her classrooms. Monday he had kissed her and nuzzled her and purred at her after her first class so much that she had actually begged him to take her not to the library where she needed to do research for a paper between classes, but home and make love to her again. He had done as she asked showing her instant transmission and they had nearly missed her next class with all their playing around. She was really getting addicted to sex with him. If this didn't stop or at least slow down she wouldn't ever get anything done but him and she knew she didn't mind it at all.

She didn't understand how he had this much energy, or how he could fly and even teleport, but it was something she was getting more and more used to. He amazed her constantly with his attunement to her thoughts and feelings, and the way he could anticipate her every desire in bed, the one thing that still puzzled her was the soft little patch of fur on the small of his back. She had asked him about it a number of times and he just chuckled nervously and changed the subject, or kissed her until she wasn't thinking of anything at all anymore. He loved it when she would pet him there, he didn't say it, but he didn't need to. The way he purred and arched into her touch if they were laying together cuddling said it plainly enough. And when she touched him there while he was taking her… holy Kami he actually broke the bed the first time he started to take her so hard, but that had been a very passionate night for both of them, she'd had a devil of a time explaining all the screaming to all of her elderly neighbors the next morning, not to mention the bite mark she'd made on his neck. She felt bad about that, but at least she hadn't broken the skin. She traced it with her fingertip and smiled, staring lazily at the static on the TV screen, noting that she had no desire to even reach over and shut it off with the remote.

Jenna peaked up at Goku and noted that he was watching her, his onyx eyes mysterious and mesmerizing in their bottomless depths. His face was impassive, but his eyes were not. Surprised, she stared back for a while, then able to read nothing, she just gave up with a smile, and he grinned back. " I love you, Goku. "

" I… " A knock at the door cut him off and Jenna giggled, as she buried her face in his shoulder. The knock came again, only louder this time, and she sighed.

" I wonder who'd be coming over this late? " She wondered, finally squirming out of his powerful arms and moving to the door. She got the door only part of the way open before it slammed into her, throwing her into the wall like a tiny rag doll. There was blood on the door where it had hit her, and Goku felt as if his heart were being torn out. His beautiful Jenna was injured, bleeding! He could feel that she was unconscious, but not truly hurt, yet all he could see was her blood and the responsible party stood in the doorway smiling rather maliciously down at him.

" Hello, father. " Said the figure at the door, he had aqua eyes and spiky blonde hair, but at the moment, all he could see was red.

" I am going to kill you for that. " Goku growled, his voice low and dangerously quiet.

" You already have, you dishonorable bastard! You left us over a week ago. Without a word! Not even a fucking goodbye! And for what? HER? I thought you were a hero! I practically worshiped you! Aren't you ever coming home? Did you even know mom's making us move? Do you care about us at all? Are you sorry at all? For walking out on us, for cheating on mom? I want to kill you for what you've done, father! "

Goku smiled coldly. " Good. Because I intend to see that you never harm Jenna… or anything else again. "

" So the bitch has a name, does she? Did you bother to ask that before you fucked her the first time? "

Goku screamed in rage, and made the transformation to Super Saiyan while he leapt to attack his son. Gohan evaded the punch, but not the elbow smash that followed, and the boy hit the wall and crashed through it to the outside. The half Saiyan didn't have time to brace himself before he was kicked in the ribs and nailed in the back with another elbow that sent him into the dirt.

" Get up. " Goku snarled, aqua eyes burning with a cold rage that reminded Gohan of Vegeta, as he was dragged to his feet and then dropped. Goku turned as if to leave, and Gohan growled in humiliation, forcing himself to get up and stay up, even though his broken ribs begged for mercy.

" Come back here and finish this, you bastard! "

" Finish what? You're nothing but a kid, hardly sporting to kill you now. "

" How dare you! I'm your son! I'm not some brat that you met on the street! "

" And I don't want to hurt you, Gohan. " Goku growled, but didn't drop his guard.

" You already have! You bastard! "

" Stop calling me that, I'm your father and… "

" No, " Gohan snapped, then smirked coldly. " You're not my father. Goku died the day he betrayed us. You're Kakarrot. You finally decided to act like a Saiyan, so we might as well call you one. "

" What in the hell are you talking about? "

" Vegeta hasn't told you yet? He says that bitch you are fucking is your bond mate. Bonding is a Saiyan thing, or haven't you heard? "

" Gohan… don't ever call her that again. I don't want to fight you. You're my son, and I love you, but if you don't stop this… I may not be able to stop myself, Gohan. "

" That's too bad, because what you did to me and Mom and Goten still makes me mad enough to kill you. "

" I'm sorry that I hurt you… I wasn't thinking, but I love her. Gohan, I would die for her, I've never felt that way about anything but you and Goten until I met her… "

" Spare me. I don't want to hear it. "

" Than what do you want? " Goku shouted, shrugging his powerful shoulders, he was about to leave when he remembered Jenna had been hurt, and still lay bleeding in her own home. " Did you come here to hurt Jenna? "

Gohan never got a chance to answer as his father snarled and attacked with a fury that took Gohan by surprise even after what had happened a moment ago. 'A Saiyan with a new mate is very possessive, and extremely dangerous. ' Vegeta's warning came back to Gohan too late as he struggled to block punch after punch from his father. He managed to catch Goku with a knee to his stomach and stagger back a little only to have the warrior growl and rush at him again, striking him again and again with punches, until he fell to his knees, coughing up blood. Gohan was kicked in the stomach, and knocked onto his back and forced to watch helplessly as his father raised a hand and slowly summoned the energy of a ki blast.

A brilliant flash of light erupted behind Goku and sent him through a tree, a nearby apartment building and far out of sight as Gohan found a very pissed off Saiyan Prince glaring down at him. " Did you think I was kidding? You would've been better off leaving him alone. Stay here and stay down or he will finish you. "

" Vegeta? " Goku laughed, brushing dust from the shattered apartment building off of his shoulder. " Are you here to hurt her too or are you just here to try to kill me like usual? "

" I'm here to keep you from killing one of my subjects. Besides, you dishonor your race and your father by turning on your own son. As Prince, I have the right to say who may challenge, and the responsibility to step in when the match is unfair. The boy had every right to be angry, you gave his mother your word that you would care for and protect her, and you betrayed it. I suppose it's up to you, Kakarrot. The boy made a grave mistake coming here against my warning, but we both know that he's no match for the last of the pure blooded Saiyans. "

" Hmm. A prince with no planet, no subjects and not even strong enough to defeat a third class idiot, Frieza or Cell… you're really not much of a prince anymore, are you? "

" We'll see, Kakarrot. " Vegeta growled, settling into a fighting stance. " Unlike you and your brats, I've actually spent the last few years training. "

" That's good, since you'll need it, if you don't want me to kill you for interfering. " Goku purred, as his rival powered up to match him. " He attacked my woman, Vegeta. Get out of my way! "

" Your revenge is behind me, Kakarrot. Let's see if you're Saiyan enough to take it. Or are you still a simpering earthling, unworthy of your Saiyan power and strength? If you kill me tonight you will have my title, you should have it already, but you were too weak to follow your instincts! And now you finally decided to listen to your instincts and take a bond mate? I really ought to be happy for you, but it doesn't change the fact that you were too weak to tell that boy's mother that you didn't want to marry her. Does it? "

" You shouldn't have said that, Vegeta. "

" You have cast dishonor upon me and the rest of our race for the last time Kakarrot! We settle this now! Fight me, you third class idiot! "
