It Will Happen: Another Bulma & Vegeta Get Together
Chapter Seventeen
Yes
BULMA tried her best to stifle her yawn as she nodded at her companion.
Truth be told she had stopped listening to Rex's blabbing as soon as their food had arrived. Which had not even been an hour into their date.
The guy was immature, self centered and a snotty little brat. He was also boring her to sleep with all his ravings about his favorite topic. Himself. 'Even Vegeta wasn't this self centered.' She had thought and that's when she had completely lost focus of Rex and started her own thinking. Not that he noticed of course, he was too busy chatting away.
What was she to do now that Vegeta wanted her again? And what did that mean exactly? Did he only want her in his bed or did he want more from her?
They had been lucky that Trunks was too young to understand the concept of parents who were together so he had never asked why his parents didn't sleep together or do any of the other things couples did. But when Bulma thought about it she realized that that wasn't exactly true.
Trunks, Vegeta and her had been living like a normal family for four years now. Vegeta spent most of the day training Trunks while she was at work.
When she got home Vegeta and Trunks would already have had showered and would wait while she made supper. They would eat together and although Trunks did most of the talking Bulma and Vegeta were never uncomfortable in each others presence. They had reached a silent truce, for their son, but it had not been an awkward one.
After dinner they would all watch a little tv or sit in the Compound for a while. Though it was never long before, either she or Trunks would fall of to sleep from exhaustion. She knew Vegeta had taken her to her room a couple of times and that he did the same with their son all the time but she had not wanted to read into anything from that.
He was not physically affectionate with Trunks but she knew the proud man loved his son deeply. He more than tolerated Trunks, which was more than Vegeta did with everyone else. And when she thought about it, he more than tolerated her too.
Sure they argued, she didn't think they would ever not argue, but that's how things had always been between them. They had grown comfortable in their lives and she didn't think that Vegeta minded.
Was it possible that he really was more than jealous tonight? That this date had opened his eyes? She had never dated since him and maybe, just maybe he was afraid of loosing her now that he thought there was a possibility of that happening. But the question that plagued her the most was, could she risk getting hurt again?
"Bulma?" Rex had obviously been waiting for her to speak and she hadn't heard a word he had said.
"I'm sorry. What was that?" Bulma asked apologetically.
Rex sighed heavily. "I asked if you were ok? Do you want to have dessert?"
"Oh. No thank you. Actually I'm really tired Rex, is it ok if we leave now?" Bulma faked a little yawn.
He didn't look at all happy with her suggestion but after another heavy sigh he gave her a small smile. "Sure." He nodded. Well, at least he wasn't so self centered as to be a gentlemen.
The silence on the drive back from the restaurant was deafening, not that Bulma noticed though. She was too busy thinking about Vegeta.
At the door of her home she turned to thank Rex who had insisted on walking her to it.
"Thanks for a lovely evening Rex." Bulma lied out of courtesy. But before she could give him a quick, friendly kiss on the cheek he captured her mouth in his.
She wanted to push him back immediately but then just sighed in exasperation and gave into the kiss. It was the least she could do. Even if he was a terrible companion, she was none the better and it was just a kiss. Free of any desire.
Until she was ripped back from Rex and he went flying across the ground, blood pouring from his nose.
* * *
Vegeta had been pacing the lounge for hours since Bulma had left.
'She wouldn't! Wouldn't she?' Was the only thoughts running through his mind. He was strung as taut as bow and he couldn't shake of the nauseous feelings that invaded his stomach. He could not bare to think of her with another man.
But he was more angry with himself than her. He should have never let her go. How could he think that she would make him weak? He had grown soft in the last for years but what the hell, he didn't have to be any other way right now.
He was fond of his son and the woman who had always been there for him and he didn't care now. He wanted her back in his arms, were she belonged.
He thought about going to the Gravity Room and training for a while but he knew he wouldn't be able to focus so he had taken to pacing the floor.
What angered him more was that he couldn't focus on her thoughts or feelings. The witch had learned to block him out completely. He knew they still shared dreams, something they both couldn't control, but they had both learned to be on guard when it came to their thoughts. No matter how comfortable a place they had settled into the last four years, they couldn't deny that there was still things floating between them. Desire, want, care and even need.
He was about to fly off and find her energy when he felt it right outside the door. He yanked the door open.
He was furious at the sight of her kissing that fool and acted without even thinking, blinded by rage. He ripped Bulma from the other mans arm and punched the idiot in his face. He was satisfied to feel bones break beneath his hand. The imbecile was just lucky he had been hit with Vegeta's left fist and not even at a quarter of his power, or the damage could have been much worse.
"Vegeta! Oh Kami." Bulma yelled as she took in the scene before her eyes.
But before she could attempt to defuse the volatile situation Rex had gotten up and was charging straight for Vegeta.
'Idiot!' Bulma thought as she immediately went to Vegeta and wrapped her arms around his waist, holding onto him tightly, with her face pressed into his neck. Both men stood still from shock.
She had to do it. If Rex attacked Vegeta he would have been seriously injured or worse, killed. She knew that he wouldn't attack Vegeta if she stood before him and that that was the only way she could keep Vegeta from finishing Rex off. Luckily she felt Vegeta's arms snake around her waist to hold her to him. She rolled her eyes. He was such a cave man.
"Bulma?" Rex gasped, horrified.
"I'm sorry Rex, this is for your own good. Please go home now." She told him. Her voice was stern yet apologetic.
The other man cursed loudly and Bulma had to hold on tighter to Vegeta to stop him from going after Rex. Finally Rex had left. Bulma let out a huge sigh of relief before removing herself from Vegeta.
She didn't look at him but just went into the house, silently fuming.
"I can't believe you kissed him." Vegeta complained.
"I can't believe you punched him." She snapped turning around to glare at him.
Vegeta smirked. "He deserved it!"
"You're an absolute ass, do you know that!" Bulma screamed at him.
"I still can't believe you kissed him." Vegeta said again as if waiting for a specific reply from her.
"Why? I'm single! I can kiss whom ever I like." Bulma yelled. She didn't care if she woke the entire West City up.
"Point taken. But I'll change that tonight." Vegeta said in his most intimidating voice as he took a step towards her. Bulma instantly took a step back.
But he didn't stop, he kept walking towards her and she kept walking away from him, until her back came into contact with a wall. He gave her a devilish grin that she didn't know if it scared her or made her want him.
He placed one palm against the wall, beside her face, while he trapped her in her place with his hips.
"What ... What are ... You doing?" Bulma stammered as she gulped.
"Why did you go out with that idiot? You don't smell like him." Vegeta said as he bent his head and sniffed her before raising his head to look at her.
Bulma looked into those deep dark eyes and felt herself leaning into him. It had been so long since she had been this close to him. 'Damn him for making her weak!'
"What do you mean?" She asked.
Vegeta held back a smile. She obviously hadn't slept with that idiot and here she was, against him and he could smell her arousal. Her want for him!
"Never mind. Let's go to bed now." It was obviously the wrong thing to say.
"You jerk!" Bulma yelled as she pushed hard against his chest, but it was no use. He was too strong for her and all she had done was make him hold her again. He pinned both her hands against the wall, above her head, while he pressed himself closer to her.
Bulma lifted her head to let it fall back against the wall. She blinked furiously trying to let the tears sink back into her eyes. 'Why was she crying? It had been so long since she had cried!' He didn't move from her and she could feel her treacherous body burning in desire at his closeness.
"Why are you doing this?" She whispered. She could feel his eyes boring into her as if trying to figure her out.
"You don't want me?" He also whispered and his voice sounded slightly uncertain. She brought her head down then to look at him.
"Answer my question Vegeta. Why are you doing this now? After four years. You made it perfectly clear the last time we were together that you didn't want me but now you don't want anyone else to want me either."
"Look woman, I'm not going to apologize for what's already been done, but there's no need to keep living in the past."
"Typical." Bulma said. "So what is it that you want from me now? Releasement from your sexual frustrations until you get bored again or decide that you want to throw my feelings back in my face?" Her voice wavered but she made sure she spoke each word clearly.
Vegeta flinched. He had said and done all those things to her but what could he say. It was done now! He couldn't go back and at the time he said what he had needed to.
"I had my reasons. But things are different now."
"Liar!" Bulma sobbed as she finally pulled her wrists from his slackened grip and beat at his chest. He didn't stop her.
Bulma cried as she hit him. It had been ages since she had started being strong that she didn't want to be strong anymore! She wanted to be weak, she wanted to have someone else to lean on! Was that so terrible?
"I hate you! You kept on chipping at my heart until you broke it completely." Bulma yelled as the tears flowed from her eyes. The dam had finally been broken.
"You weren't satisfied with hurting me, you had to crush my heart. You didn't want me! You didn't want Trunks. You even refused to protect us. All you cared about was Goku!" And at the mention of her best friend Bulma cried harder and louder. "And now he's gone." She whispered.
Vegeta felt as if someone had ripped out his insides from her pain. It was so strong, so sad, so deep that he could never have thought it would make him feel anything but disgust for such a weakness. But that was not what he felt. He shared her pain and although that scared him all he could think about was how he hated seeing her cry.
She was the strongest female he knew! And not physically, but mentally and emotionally. She handled herself, their son and everything that he threw at her with strength and pride! How could he not admire that? So seeing her in such agony now tore him apart. And all because of him.
He had caused all the pain that she had bottled up with that clowns death and now he was also the one to pull out the stopper. But he knew she had to let go.
With out thinking he pulled her into his arms and held her tightly to his chest.
She cried and cried and cried until she could cry no longer. Finally she wiped her face and rubbed her nose using the ends of his T-shirt before looking at him.
He looked disgustedly at his T-shirt but the evil smile that graced her mocking lips made it worthed. He would let her wipe her nose against his bare skin if she would smile again.
"Bulma." He began carefully. "You can't deny that there's something between us that won't go away no matter how much you or I try to deny it. Even with out our bond, its time to move forward." He told her.
"Bond?" She asked.
And so he took her to the couch, thankfully she didn't protest, and sat her down. For sometime he explained the Saiyan ritual of bonding, mates and their own bond. She had asked intelligent questions that he wouldn't have expected her not to and he had answered them.
"No!" She told him sternly.
"No what?" His eyebrows drew together.
"I don't want to bond with you."
"What?"
"What? You didn't want the bond in the first place so what's changed now? Besides, I don't want to be attached to an arrogant being like you." She lied easily crossing her arms against her chest.
Vegeta growled. He had not thought that she would turn him down. 'Now what?' His mind asked. He was beyond ready to claim her as his and he didn't want to wait any longer. He wanted her in his arms again, but this time as his, forever! Then it came to him. He knew exactly how to make her his mate.
"If we bond, I'll marry you."
Bulma's eyes widened in surprise. He could have easily learned about marriage but she never thought he would willingly want to partake in it. Did he really want her that badly?
The idea of bonding was so thrilling to her she wanted them to couple immediately and have him bite her now but she still wanted him to squirm. She was not done with his punishment yet.
But marriage? Kami! He must really want her attached to him badly. She was still an Earth woman though and she still had fantasies about her wedding and her dreams had only cast one man as her husband. And here he was saying he would marry her. He really did want her for more than just sex! He really did care about her!
"Really?" She asked hopefully, going closer to him.
"Yes really. But we are not doing the big show. We'll do it the simple way. You can still have the dress you wanted but it will only be you, Trunks, I and your parents."
Bulma raised an eyebrow. "How do you know what dress I want? How do you know I thought about only having Trunks and my parents at our wedding."
He gave her a smirk. "I saw your dreams."
Bulma blushed. "So you knew exactly what I wanted." She accused. Of course she knew that Vegeta hated people and so obviously when she saw their wedding she pictured it only with her dearest.
"I can't control our dreams ok." He chuckled. "So is that a yes or a no?" He asked simply. Of course the answer was not at all simple but Bulma knew that only one word would leave her lips.
"Yes!"
Authors Note: Bulma and Vegeta did get married, ok! Lol, sorry, I'm just really touchy on the subject. Besides, both Bulma and Chi Chi refer the Vegeta as Bulma's husband during the Buu/World Tournament Saga. So there! Happy reading!
