~~~~~~` Chapter 9
Bulma sighed in aggravation. Four hours of intensive training with Goku, and finally she got a few moments of rest when that damn doorbell rang. She thought of just not moving, her human thoughts wishing for laziness, her muscles crying to not be used, and the blood that now recently soaked her couch begged her to heal. Another ring, growling like a Sayian, she limped to the doorway, brushing her hair from her sweaty face.
However, upon opening the door, her thoughts screamed to her to fun.
They both stalled. Their eyes on each other, one, scared and shocked the other just shocked.
"…H. Hi, Bulma."
Bulma shook her head trying to come out of her disbelief. "You're alive?"
He nervously laughed, "Yeah…If it weren't for the Rega Tank, I would have died."
Bulma shook her head, remembering all of the pain was all on the fault of him. Her features hardened back to the emotionless façade all Sayians knew. "What are you doing here?"
"I know I'm probably the last person you expected, Bulma but I haven't seen you since…That day your husband came. That was a year ago and I had to see you…"
"Haven't you done enough, Dagan?"
"What do you mean, Bulma?"
"What do I mean?! Isn't it obvious! My family is destroyed. My son hates me! My husband has left the planet after telling me he would never come back! All because you took advantage of me--"
"I did not take advantage of you! I loved you! I would never do such a thing, Bulma! Why can't you see that? You wanted it to happen… Please…"
"You should leave--" beginning to shut the door.
"No!" He pushed his way inside. "I'm not leaving until we get this straighten out…Hold on…What happened to you?" He scanned her.
"Nothing-"
"Did someone hit you?"
"It was nothing like that--"
"If it was that bastard of a husband of yours I swear--"
"Swear what, Dagan?!" She screamed. "You have hurt him enough! And No, Vegeta didn't do this. Vegeta would never cause damage to me. Even if I deserved it."
"Bulma, how can you love such a creature? I don't understand. I would never harm you. I would never treat you the way he does. You don't deserve it. You are such a wonde--"
"Don't even say it!" She growled as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Don't even think it. I am anything but wonderful." Anger sarcasm dripping from her voice. "I have cheated on the most loyal and trusting man I have ever met. Nothing can ever make me any better then the slut I am."
"Bulma," Dagan went up to her, cupping her face in his hands, "He may be loyal. He may be trusting. Hell, he may even be caring…But does he love you the way I do?…This past year has been so horrible. I have missed you far beyond anything in the world but my love hasn't faded. Oh, Kami, Bulma, I love you. Please see that…"
"Nothing you say can alter my feelings. I don't love you, Dagan. And I never will." She felt his thumbs brush away her tears, out of shame, she pulled her head away taking a step back.
His own eyes slowly becoming blood shot with the sadness her words brought. But he stood strong. "You're lying. How can you say that after what happened?"
Bulma straightened herself. The only way to do this was to break his heart. That was her only choice. "I pretended that you were Vegeta. It was never you that I made love too. Never. I don't love you, Dagan. I never felt anything for you."
"You can't believe that. That night together…"
"Was a mistake. And a regret." He stepped to her and quickly Bulma backed away. Dagan stalled in his hurt. "Leave Dagan. I never want to see you again. Ever."
"Bulma…"
"Leave now." She stressed, pointing to the outside. His eyes filled with tears, but he nodded and left without once looking back, afraid that he wouldn't be able to keep going.
"Is that the male you fucked?"
Bulma swung to the stairs. Her son, filled with power and rage stood strong and ruthless, his arms crossed and power rising. So much like Vegeta in his very pose, but it was her reflection she saw in those beautiful eyes. "Trunks, it's not what you think. He just--"
"I don't care, you whore. I don't. My father was right about you. How my father could ever bond to such a disgusting creature is beyond me."
"Trunks, please. Listen to me." She pleaded. "I love your father. He is my bonded mate too. It was a mistake. Please honey."
"Shut up! I don't care."
"Well, then start caring!" Bulma busted out as her ki rose too. "You haven't talk to me in ten months and all you say is you don't care! I don't believe you, Trunks! You care. Your father just pounded you till you hid all of your caring away but you do care. Do not tell me you don't." Her once childish, good-mannered, laughing son, did nothing but stomp his way up to his room.
"Goku, will you stop going easy on me!" Bulma screamed as she took a swing at his face which he in response ducked and reappeared behind him.
"Sorry, Bulma."
"Stop saying your sorry and fight me!" Bulma swung her leg back and connected with his stomach. Goku hunched over in pain. Then cupping her hands together she smashed her fists in his back watching him crash to the ground.
She smirked to herself in accomplishment staring down at him from the sky above as he struggled to pull himself up. But the half smile quickly faded when Goku smiled back at her and then disappeared from her sight. She searched wildly for him, snapping her head this way and that until…There! Bulma swung around just in time to see Goku lift his fist in the air to bring it down upon her but Bulma quickly caught it and in reflect punched him in the stomach. Goku recovered and grabbed her arms, twisting them behind her back pulling her closer to him. "Let me go!" Bulma struggled, Goku just smiled.
"Oh so now you want me to go easy on you?" An eyebrow went up.
Bulma's struggling stop as she look back at her best friend, "You ass! This isn't fighting this is wearing out my patience!! Now let go!" Bulma powered up with a yell which flung Goku off her. She powered up her ki and gathered it into the cup of her palm, "GALLIC GUN STIMULATION!!"
"Hey you stole that from Vegeta!"
Bulma held onto the ball, "It's a combo. The stimulation part is mine. Tell me what you think after it gets down burning away your flesh!" Bulma released it with a "FIRE!"
Goku crossed his arms over his chest to cover himself from the giant ball that was heading straight towards him. It was too strong and much to large for him to move unless he used instant transmission but he didn't think it fair to use it.
What a mistake that was! Goku's arms burned so bad he quickly removed them but that was a double mistake as it pushed it's way to his chest, burning away his ki. But powering up to an almost Super Sayian just to save his hid, while he kicked the massive ball of fire away. He collapsed exhaustedly on the ground, all limbs stretched, breathing deeply in and out.
Bulma worriedly dropped down beside him, "Goku, are you all right? I didn't think it would hurt you. I'm sorry I don't know how strong you are compared to me." She rambled on checking out his wounds which weren't that severe except his arms but they wound heal.
"Bulma, Calm down. I'm fine. Relax." Goku grabbed her arm as she reached over to check his wounds on that side. They caught eyes, "OK?"
Bulma just smirked, dropping her hand from his grasp and rising, "I actually caused some damage!" She laughed, loving herself.
Goku rose with a huff, "Barely!" He defended, "If I was even trying I would have been able to withstand that!"
"What are you talking about! You're Ki was as high as mine!"
"Not!"
"Was So!"
"Was not!"
"Was so! Was so! Was so!" Bulma screamed at the top of her lungs.
"All right…" Putting his hands up in defense. "Sorry you're right. Like always."
"That's what I thought," crossing her arms across her chest stubbornly.
Goku just grinned then flopped down on the floor again, "What are you trying to accomplish anyway? You're not going to fight in the tournament."
Bulma eyes widened, "Who says!"
"I do! And I don't think Vegeta would want you to eit---" Goku cut himself off at the sight of his best friend as her eyes lowered to the ground with a hurtful expression. He knew what he did wrong. He said the "V" word. Goku sat up, running a hand through his hair, "I'm sorry, Bulma. I forgot." Bulma just nodded but turned her head away, "What I was trying to say was that something doesn't feel right. I think something bad is going to happen at the tournament and I couldn't take it if something happened to you. All right?" Goku stood, walking up to her, turning her head to him with a finger under her chin. Her eyes slowly went to his, "You are like a sister to me, Bulma. I know you can take care of yourself but that doesn't make me stop worrying about you. All right?"
Bulma gave him a little smile, "All right, don't get all sentimental, little brother." Goku laughed a bit. They embraced one another, "Thank you, Goku." Goku nodded into her hair and took a deep breath of her scent then sighed out heavily, pulling away, "Besides, I wasn't planning on fighting in the tournament. I was fight--" Both their heads snapped up to the sky. Both eyes and mouth opened wide in shock at the feel of the enormous power coming, "G. Goku, Is. Is that?"
"Yeah."
Bulma snapped her mouth close and instead let a small smile appear whispering to herself, "He's back."
