Piccolo's Heart

Key: This is going to be like a play… most of my stories are dialogue anyhow. If a person is thinking it, it will be in parentheses. If a person is speaking telepathically, it will be in pound signs. The chapters will be dived by acts consisting of scenes. Got it? Good.

Setup: Piccolo has been wandering Earth for five years after Cell… trying to find his life's purpose. No one of the Z squad has seen him since Goku's death, not even Gohan.

Scene I: Kami's Lookout: Kim's Room (DBZ world)


Kim wakes up yawning and stretching. It has already been two days of training with Piccolo and it has not been pretty. Kim is not what we would call in shape… but luckily Dende is there to heal her muscle strains… and pain, lots and lots of pain. Piccolo is annoyed but actually surprised she's learned so much, considering. She doesn't whine… too much.

Piccolo {smirking}: Good afternoon.

Kim: Afternoon! {sits up} I'm sorry! I didn't mean to oversleep.

Piccolo: You needed rest. I allowed you to sleep in. Today is a gathering.

Kim {Surprised}: Gathering… you mean… everyone is coming here?

Piccolo: Yes, in about an hour.

Kim {standing brushing the various strands of hair from her eyes}: AN HOUR! I have to get ready!

Piccolo: Calm down, Kim…

Kim: You don't understand… Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Little Trunks and, and, and, Vegeta! They are all going to be here!

Piccolo: Yes… what is the big deal?

Nail: #Jealous? She didn't mention any women in that grouping….#

Piccolo: #I am not jealous… I just don't see the big deal.#

Kim: Wow! I have to go get cleaned up…

Piccolo: Go ahead.

Kim runs out. Piccolo's eyes follow the vibrant girl rushing out.

Piccolo: #Alright… Let's hear it.#

Kami: #I'm proud of the patience you have had with Kim.#

Nail: #You must really like her…#

Piccolo: #She… makes me smile…#

Kami: #Keep her close.#

Piccolo: #She still hasn't told me… how she knows all us.#

Nail: #Don't push it. She'll tell you when she wants to.#

Piccolo: #This shall be an interesting gathering.#

Nail: #Especially when they find out that you are training her.#

Kami: #Don't worry, Piccolo.#

Piccolo: #I'm not worried… she'll be great.#

Nail: #Better stay close to her.#

Piccolo: #That is one thing we agree on.#





Scene II: Kami's Lookout: Outside (DBZ world)


Mr. Popo is hurrying around, setting up tables and preparing for the party. Dende is watching with Piccolo. Kim comes out and needless to say she is stunning. She put on a black strapless dress and her hair is twisted atop her head. Her beauty takes both Nameks' breath away.

Piccolo: Well… you look… nice.

Dende: Man, you look so beautiful, Kim. Trying to impress someone?

Kim {blushing}: It's a party!

Dende: That it is.

Piccolo: Don't encourage her.

Kim {hands on hips}: What do you mean by that?

The party gets underway and with each arrival Piccolo's ears were greeted with a squeal as he watches Kim squeal and hug each and every person to arrive. The most amusing of which is Vegeta. Vegeta looks bewildered and obviously confused whether to kill the girl or… kiss her. She does address him as Prince so he just goes to his pillar and leans against it.

Piccolo: Must you squeal every time? {annoyed} I mean my ears are sensitive.

Kim {smirking}: Aw, did I hurt poor Piciwicky's ears? {rubs Piccolo's ears}

Piccolo {growling}: I knew you were going to do this.

Kim: You know me so well… {winking} now, I must be mingling.

Piccolo: Please do.

Gohan: Boy, they are hitting it off. Does she get away with stuff like that all the time?

Dende {smirking}: Yes

Gohan {looking at Dende, eyebrow quirked}: You know something, don't you?

Dende {smiling even larger}: Maybe…

Gohan: Well she certainly has a strange effect on him.

Dende: Yes, she does…

Kim: PUNCH! {running to the punch bowl with Goten laughing and running behind her}

Goten: You are so much fun, Miss Kim. {grabbing the punch offered to him}

Kim: Hey, you're not half bad your self, kiddo. {guzzling her eighth glass of punch}

Goten {giggling}: You are almost as cool as my brother.

Kim {eyes wide}: Wow! And your brother is REALLY cool! That means I'm pretty cool, eh?

Goten {smiling}: Yep! Hey, let's go play with my brother!

Kim: Yeah!

Kim and Goten run up behind Gohan. Kim puts her finger to her lips as she sneaks up on Gohan. She clamps her hands over his eyes.

Kim: Guess who?

Gohan: Hmmm… I wonder…

Goten {laughing}: It's KIM, silly!

Kim {removing her hands}: Yeah, silly!

Gohan: I never would have guessed… so what are you two up to?

Goten: Nothin… Miss Kim has been playing with me.

Gohan: Trunks looks bored, why don't you go play with him?

Goten {looking up at Kim, all kawaii like}: But what about Miss Kim?

Kim: I'll play with your ultra-cool brother.

Goten: K {runs off to play with Trunks}

Gohan: You're really good with kids…

Kim: I used to work at a daycare… I guess I still have it in me.

Gohan: Did you take care of Nameks there because what you've done with Piccolo is amazing.

Kim {blushing}: I haven't done anything with Piccolo.

Gohan: Has Piccolo ever been known to actually converse at a party?

Kim: No… but that wasn't me… he… I didn't do anything.

Gohan {smiling}: Alright…

Chi-chi walks over.

Chichi: Gohan, go watch your brother.

Gohan: But… yes mom. {leaves to Goten}

Chichi: We haven't properly met… I'm Chi-chi.

Kim: Kim.

Chichi: You are new so let me tell you something… In this dimension it isn't seen as proper to be living with a man you aren't married to.

Kim {confused}: What are you talking about?

Chichi: People may take it the wrong way… you living with Piccolo and all.

Kim: I'm staying here in the Lookout… in a room… by myself.

Chichi: People could misconstrue things…

Kim {angry}: Are you implying that I shouldn't stay here… with my friend… who happens to be male (kind of)… even though we are not even sharing a room?

Chichi: It may be taken the wrong way… I mean and that monster… he could rape you or worse!

Kim {shouting}: It's not like I'm sleeping with Piccolo!

Everyone turns to look at Kim. Kim blushes as Piccolo slaps his forehead. Everyone goes back to mingling like nothing happened.

Chichi: See what that monster has done to you?

Kim: He is not a monster!

Chichi: He stole away my son! You don't know what that is like…

Kim: You are a wicked person! To keep him away from your sons. He loves them and it is killing him… HE IS A PERSON TOO!

Kim has received an audience again.

Kim: To call him a monster is wrong! Can't you see that it hurts when you keep him away and call him things he definitely is not? You call him a monster when he is the most wonderful person I have ever met! So how is he a monster?

Chichi {shouting}: Well, then! It is wrong for a girl, your age to be staying here with him. He is a monster!

Kim: STOP CALLING HIM THAT! It hurts to be called names. He holds his tongue from calling you names… I know all about being called names.

Chichi: If you keep staying here then people will be calling you whore… I mean living with someone… a monster that you are in love with is just wrong…

Kim {face flushes}: What?

Chichi: You are in love with him! A monster!

Piccolo's eyes bug out at hearing this…

Kim: I… I don't know what… you are talking about. I've known him only four days… I… I… {nervously looking at Piccolo}

Chichi: Don't try to pull that on me… All I hear from Gohan is how wonderful it is that Piccolo has someone who cares so strongly for him… and how wonderful it is that Piccolo can be happy… and how wonderful it is that you came along. All I've heard for the past two days is how wonderful you are! Gohan told me what you revealed to him… You are in love with that… that freak!

Kim {upset to the verge of tears}: You… you… wicked… wicked… witch. {runs off into her room}

Everyone just stares at Chi-chi shocked. Piccolo blushes fiercely but tries to keep up his mask of stoicism. Gohan walks up to his mother.

Gohan: That is horrible what you did… to Kim. Kim has done nothing to you.

Chichi: She was rude.

Nail: #Yo! Piccolo wake up! Kim stood up for you and all you are going to do is stand there.#

Piccolo {walking to Chichi calmly}: If I was the person you think me to be… you wouldn't be here… Gohan is right… Kim did nothing to you.

Chichi: Just falling in love with a monster like you is reason enough for me!

Piccolo {growling}: Woman… you are lucky I love your sons… otherwise…

Chichi: See… only monsters threaten defenseless women!

Gohan {glaring}: Mom! {slaps her} I'm sorry but you deserve that.

Chichi {rubbing the red mark across her face} G-g-gohan?

Gohan: You are a horrible person… Piccolo is not what you think him to be and to take your opinions out on Kim… who is probably the most remarkable person I've met… is just totally unreasonable…

Nail: #Gohan needs to handle this… someone else needs you right now.#

Piccolo: #Kim… I… Kim.#
