Chapter 2 - Trauma
Videl hummed to herself as she hung the laundry on the line. It was a wonderful day, with clear blue skies and a light breeze now and again, just to keep it from getting too hot. She looked up, and saw the one thing she least expected - Saiyan space pods falling from the sky. "Oh no."
Chi-chi looked up at the sound, and placed her hand over her mouth. Turning a worried look on her daughter-in-law she whispered, "Do you think Goku and Gohan saw them?"
"I am not sure, but they better have. They took Pan out to the training field today." Videl cast nervous glances from the direction the pods had landed, to where the rest of her family would be. "Let me go and find out for sure. I really can't take the chance." Videl floated into the air.
"Hurry!" Chi-Chi urged. As she watched the other woman fly off her hand clutched to her chest. She tried to calm her breathing and remain unruffled. There was no doubt that the Saiyans would be stopping by soon. She would have to retain her composure until the others returned.

Goku turned at his son's horrified expression, to see what had caused it. "I didn't sense them coming!" Gohan growled, "How did they do it?" Inside he was blaming himself. He should have sensed it. He should have realized it was nearing the time. He should have been prepared.
Goku froze. The powers radiating from the pods were steady and powerful. They had only been masked until they entered the atmosphere. Now they were uncannily familiar. "Gohan, Those are not normal Saiyans in those pods. The ki's feel to close to yours."
Gohan could not take his eyes from the spacecrafts as he answered his father. "What are you saying?" Gohan stared at the pods as they pounded into the earth.
"There can only be one answer, Gohan." Goku could barely believe what he was feeling. Still they were there, powerful and real. "They are Demi-Saiyans. One is probably your brother, Goten. That would make the other Bulma's child." Goku clenched his fists at the thought of what Bulma was forced to endure, realizing that she had been forced to conceive a child for those beasts. "I can't believe they went through with their evil intentions." A bead of sweat trickled down his face as he fought for control.
"A Saiyan Prince? Vegeta must be very confident in him, to send them here together." Gohan began to take off toward the pods. Goku reached out and grabbed his son's leg in a firm, unyielding grip. "Hold on, Gohan." There was dark warning in that voice. "He may be your brother, but he was raised as a Saiyan. I am living proof that it is how you are raised that is more important, not what you are." It was painful for Goku to admit the fact that his youngest child might be a monster, but it needed to be said. "Goten is one of them, Gohan. He may be of our blood, but he is not your bother. You have to remember that."
Videl appeared in the sky above them. With a sigh of relief she flew over to her husband. She began to speak before her feet were even firmly planted on the ground. "Gohan, did you see them?" She pinned her blazing blue eyes on Gohan, who nodded to her. "So, where is Pan?"
Gohan looked at Goku and felt his jaw drop. "We let her run off with Marron!!" He spun to where the cloud of dust was rising, and grabbed his hair in his hands. "She went in that direction too."
**************************************************************** ********
The strange pods came out of nowhere. The first pod was not even detected until it was too late, and it hurtled past them. Marron was pushed out of the way by the air currents and plummeted to earth. Pan screamed for her friend. Then zipped out of the way as a second craft moved past her.
"That was close." Pan rubbed her hands on her thighs. She was having a hard time assuring herself she had not been injured. "Too close." Pan hung in the air and watched the pods impact. She glanced around and saw Marron lying unconscious, well out of the way. Still unconscious, she was vulnerable. Yet her ki would be low, almost undetectable. But if Marron were to regain her consciousness...
The pods doors slowly opened, and Pan could sense the terrible power emanating from within them.
"Oh SHIT!" She flared her ki and blasted past them. Trying to draw the attention to herself. She turned to face the open door, and flew backward. She let her heels pull up the dirt beneath her feet. The amount of power she felt was enormous. She had no chance of defeating them with a physical assault. She would be quickly outmatched. Maybe, if she got lucky, she could out-think the dangerous duo. She was sure that whoever was in those pods had seen her by now. She shot up like a rocket.
First things first, get them away from Marron. Then she could think of a plan. She was watching behind her, waiting for them to follow her from their ships. "Ugh" Pan hit a brick wall and bounced back into another. No! There was one problem with that deduction. Brick walls did not float in midair. Panicking she tried to elbow the person behind her, but her arms where caught up in a stranglehold, from which there was no escape. Pan looked up and saw her grandfather's face before her and closed her eyes. She should have trained harder. She should have tried… waiting. She opened her eyes and every muscle in her body went limp. Her grandfather's face looked at her, and still she didn't recognize it entirely. He had never had quite that expression on his face. He was dressed all in black, other than his armor. Was it her imagination or did he seem… younger?
"Well, well - look what we have here." Trunks reached around to grab a firm breast, and tested the weight in his hand. He had to drop his hold on one of her arms to make the movement. He let go of the other to reach around her and clamp a vise-like grip around her waist.
Pan froze in shock. No one had ever touched her like that before. Always used to the utmost respect, Pan forced down her alarm. She reached back and grabbed his hair and pulled him over her. Ducking her head she threw the unseen assailant to the mirror image of Goku.
Goten instinctively shifted out of the way with one liquid, graceful movement. The eyes locked on the girl who had just dared to toss his prince, and charged. The girl could fight, but he never expected the stinging pain of a ki blast in the face. Pan held her trembling hand out before her for a long moment. She studied her opponent, then twirled to place her knee between his shoulders; sending him back to earth the same as they had done to Marron. She frowned as he managed to slow his descent with his great power, and fly back at her.
Goten was enraged. Once he got his hands on that bitch he was going to make her pay for her actions.
"Halt!" Trunks held his hand up. Goten cut short his assault, and looked to his prince. Trunks hovered in the air studying the alien female. "If she wants a fight, she will fight me." Goten gave a disappointed looked and nodded. Trunks smirked a little, "I want to be the one to tame her. She will think twice before challenging a Saiyan."
Pan tilted her head "I don't know what a Saiyan is, and I really don't care." She watched the lavender haired warrior unclasping his cape from his shoulders. "All I know is you almost killed me with your stupid spacecraft. I mean, who in the hell do you think you are?"
"I am Trunks, Prince of all Saiyans, and you are going to bow before me and beg forgiveness for your impudence." Trunks circled her, his bedazzling blue eyes roving over Pan. She was dress strangely for a woman. She wore loose pants and a flowing shirt that hid the curves of her body. Most women who entered his presence were dressed as sparingly as possible, in hopes of possibly catching his attention. The thick raven hair was pulled back in a bun, but half of it had been pulled free, and hung is in wild strands around her face. Her dark eyes were clear and bright. There was one more thing he noticed about them. She was thinking. Good! Maybe this would actually be a little bit of fun after all.
Pan was starting to get concerned. This guy was huge compared to her. She rated his power level way over her own. Hand to hand, she was about to get a royal ass kicking. The sad thing was if what he said was true, that could be a literal thing. Royalty, huh. "I will beg for nothing." Pan tried to calm her nerves. She didn't like the look in his eyes. She spared a glance to his companion. He sure looked a lot like her grandfather. But what if he had no honor? What if he jumped in while she was trying to fight the other? She darted her gaze back to the lavender haired beast before her. Still, she peeked at the dark one again. She really didn't stand a chance either way.
Trunks saw her distraction and seized on it. With lightening speed, that Pan had never seen before, he grabbed her arm. Trunks had her then, and flipped her around like a rag doll. She was hoisted up and pulled close. Pan looked up at the blue eyes that smiled happily down at her. Her arm was pinned behind her back. Keeping her firmly locked against him. "That was just way to easy." Trunks amused laugher only served to mock her pride as a warrior.
Pan grew aggressive in his arms and tried to struggle free.
Trunks simply lifted his fingers to apply pressure to her twisted arm. Pan screamed as a muscle began to rip in her shoulder. "You waste your time."
Pan felt tears forming in her eyes at the anger and humiliation she was feeling. She had fallen so quickly it was sickening. He has me at his mercy! The thought played in her head. She struggled to dispel the thoughts. Pan, you have to think! She slowly lifted her tear filled eyes to his. Disgust with her weakness, was all she saw there. Still, he loosened his grip. "You will concede to me that you are beaten." He growled with disappointment. "Now!"
Pan's face remained impassive, the enormous dark eyes tugging at his emotions. The poor thing really was more delicate than she appeared. He loosed his grip even more, fearing he might still be hurting her. There was a slow up-turn to the corners of her mouth. It was the only warning before she raised her knee and rammed it into his most vulnerable region. Trunks was unused to such an unfair attack. It was his turn to be stunned as he buckled before her.
Goten felt his rage rise at the attack. Such means of fighting were beyond contempt. He flew at Pan with great speed, before she had time to escape. The back of Goten's hand slammed the girl across the face, and sent her like a stone into the ground below. Satisfaction was swelling in the pit of his stomach, as he studied the crevasse. He rushed to his Prince's side and remained there. "How are you my Lord?" He looked over his Lord with concern. "I have taken care of the girl for you, so you may take your time recovering."
"I will be fine." Trunks pulled away roughly. He raised his eyes and scanned the earth for the girl's body. They were colder, like the frigid blue of glacier ice, as he snarled. "I would be better if she survived, Goten. I want to see that girl suffer greatly for her actions."
"Whatever you desire my lord. Shall I check it out for you." Goten waited for Trunks to right himself and nod. Wasting no time he lowered, menacingly, to the ground. He stalked slowly over to Pan's body, partially buried under the rubble. Goten swiftly drew his foot back and kicked her side. The force of the impact broke Pan loose of the dirt, and rolled over her unconscious form to her back. Goten studied the body for a moment. She was limp and utterly still, as he knelt beside her. Reaching out his hand he tested her soft neck with the tips of his fingers. "Tougher than I thought." Goten gave her a dark look before he nodded. "She breathes." Goten said in a sturdy voice, so Trunks could hear. Fixing his eyes up at the Prince, Goten observed the cruel smile on his Lord's features. Goten returned his gaze to the girl that lay at his feet. "You were better off dead."
****************************************************** ******************
Marron opened her eyes slowly to see Gohan coming into view. "Marron, what happened?" His face, mere inches from her, was etched in concern. "Where is Pan?"
It became clear by her surroundings that she was in her own bedroom. Someone must have brought her back to the house. Marron struggled to sit up. The action forced her to clutch her aching head in open palms. "I don't know." She blinked a few times trying to remember. "I was flying." She answered softly. The pounding in her head was hindering her ability to think clearly. "I was flying…"
Krillin came through the door and rushed to his daughter's side. He slipped a concerned hand around his daughter's waist to support her weight. "It's all right honey. I am here now." When Marron moved her blue stare to him, he nodded. "Where does it hurt?"
Marron closed her eyes and rested her head against her father. "Everywhere, Dad." She whimpered. "I just fell out of the sky? But what I don't get is why." She opened her eyes again. Gohan got of the chair next to her bed. He looked very pale as he walked to the near by window. "I don't remember what knocked me down."
Krillin held tight to his daughter, and stared expectantly at his friend across the room. Goku shook his head at Krillin. There was no need tell the girl she had been side swiped by an alien spacecraft. Their problem now was to find out where the two Saiyans had disappeared to. More importantly, they had to find out if they were with Pan. Goku was positive they had her. To admit as much to Gohan would send his son over the edge, and right now they needed him calm, and thinking clearly. Placing his hand on Gohan's shoulder, he said quietly, "We will find her, Gohan. She is strong. She will survive, and without her tail it will be hard for them to see her for what she is."
"If they hurt her…" Gohan clenched his fists. "I will kill them."
"We will do what ever we have to Gohan. Our first priority is to this planet and her people. You must remember what is at stake here. One life for thousands, that is why I let them take Goten without a fight." Goku reminded his boy.
"That was your way! I refuse to watch my wife wither and die, everyday missing her child more than the last. A child I swore I would protect." Gohan met his father gaze, his rage over the loss of his brother coming to a head "I will not let Videl suffer the same fate as mom did."
Goku's face fell and his shoulders dropped. "You are right. This is my fault. I am the Saiyan. I am the one who gave you the cursed blood that flows through you; but, in doing that I gave you the power to choose. You can either follow the path of good, and fighting for what is right, or you can join with your rage and become just like the rest of them." Goku refused to meet his son's eyes. "Do you think a day goes by when I don't want to rip King Vegeta's throat out for taking Goten from us? Because I can tell you there isn't." Goku's black eyes looked away to the distant clouds. "All I can do is wait, and train for the day we can set things right again."
"Things will never be right. Goten has been gone from us his entire life. Pan has been in constant hiding all her life. The poor girl does not even have any idea why. Dad, she doesn't even know how much danger those men represent to her. If they find out she is a Demi-Saiyan, do you think her fate will be all that different from Bulma's?" Gohan slid dejectedly into a close chair. "Damn, Vegeta only thinks of his power and ways to increase it. Pan is a means to an end to him. Nothing more."
"On that score we agree. There is nothing that King Vegeta would like to see more than Pan taken from us. I will do everything in my power to make sure that never happens."
Krillin helped Marron to her feet, and the pair moved toward the window. "I will stand with you, Goku. There is no way I can imagine losing my daughter to those monsters. I can't stand by and let it happen to anyone else either. Bulma and Goten were enough of a loss. I can't tolerate anymore."
Goku smiled. "Thanks Krillin. This is my own son we are fighting this time. We will need all the help we can get."
**************************************************************** ********
Goten held the dark haired angel in his arms as he followed his Prince to a nearby river. Trunks knelt by the waters edge, watching the flowing water. A puzzled expression crossed his face as he reached down to test the water with his fingertips. Nodding his satisfaction, he placed his hands on his muscular thighs and stood up. "This will do quite nicely." Trunks walked over, and gently took the unconscious form from Goten. He moved back and waded into the water up to his hips "Time to wake up, woman." With a wicked grin, he dropped her into the chilled water.
Pan bolted up almost instantly, sputtering water. Her entire body hurt, and her clothes were in tatters. They hung wetly to her curves, leaving nothing hidden to her observers' eyes. Pan's hands covered her mouth as she coughed harshly.
Trunks was not prepared for the sight before him. No wonder she wore loose clothing. If he were the one responsible for her care, she would be wearing the exact same style. That body was too comely to be seen. Trunks felt his own body violently reacting to the sight of her firm up-thrust breasts and thin, tapering waist. He was feeling lust for the girl? The fact caused Trunks to grow angry. Any emotion other than hatred while on an unclaimed world was intolerable. If he desired her, it made her valuable. He didn't like the thought that this planet already had this hold over him. It eased his mind that his father had fallen into the same trap on this world. Trunks reached out and grabbed the luminous black hair, and yanked her head back. The dark eyes widened as she recognized who held her in their restraining embrace. "Afraid are you?"
Pan nodded before she could stop herself. Damn it, her fear pleased him, and that was the last thing she wanted.
"That is the first smart thing you have done all day." He gave her no warning before he bent over her, and pressed his mouth to hers. There was no mistaking it for a punishing kiss. There was no tenderness in those bruising lips that skirted over her mouth. Pan struggled to pull away from him. When he finally lifted his head, she twisted away and tried to dive into the river.
Trunks laughed, and reached out to snatch the back of her shirt and hauled his precious prey back against him.
"LET ME GO!" She could feel his arousal against her soaked bottom. Pan gasped and began wildly kicking and fighting for freedom. There was the reality that this man could easily rape her, racing through her mind. Please, Kami, no! "Let me go!" She snarled, with more bravery than she was feeling. Pan renewed her efforts to gain her freedom.
Goten ignored the scene before him. He relaxed on the lush green grass at the waters edge as if nothing was transpiring in the water before him. It was something he had seen several times in his life. He, himself, actually enjoyed terrifying the locals of other planets. Heck, he even enjoyed terrifying his brother Saiyans if the truth were told. He stared up at the flawless sky of this planet and asked "My Lord, do you wish some private time with your new…" He paused and smiled as the right word came to his mind "Toy."
"That would be fine, Goten." Trunks chuckled as he reached around to fondle Pan's breasts. Sending her into another squirming struggle, that only caused him more amusement. "I will not have any trouble with this little thing, that I can't handle." He murmured in her ear. "Will I, honey?" Then he nuzzled his face against her neck, taking the soft skin into his mouth as she cried out in protest.
"Very well," Goten rose into the air. "I am going to scout around and see what I can find." Watching Trunks turning his full attention to his captive, Goten wanted to laugh, and yet he knew better. Prince Trunks had not given a female this much attention for a long time now. The girl should feel honored at the privilege she was about to receive. Taking to the skies, Goten dismissed those thoughts from his head. He was in the mood for another fight. Hopefully, this time, a good fight. Now was the time to scout for possible dangers. He clicked on his scouter. "Whoa!" He came to a stop and hovered in the sky. "Now there is a power reading." He tracked it for a moment before whispering to himself. "Headed my way too. This could be fun!" Goten took a moment to calm his racing heart before he took off toward the fighters he had just found.
**************************************************************** ********
It took hardly any time before he was face to face with the small party of Earth warriors. He studied them quietly, and deemed them all to be quite pathetic too. There was also another woman with them. He shook his head. The little blonde was hardly worth his attention, so he moved his gaze on. The short man next to her was not powerful enough to concern him either. But the other two, he stared at them and felt a strange rush of sensation flood over him. It was as close to shock as Goten had ever come, as he knew who was standing before him. It was obviously Goku and Gohan. He knew his birth family was on this planet, and he was sure he would meet them. Still, he was just not expecting their resemblance to him to be quite so stunning. "I am Goten of Planet Vegeta." He informed them as if there was any doubt." The right hand of his Highness Prince Trunks."
Goku grimaced. It was painful to see the mirror image of himself floating there before him in his Saiyan armor. "You look just like me, son."
"I can see that." Goten snorted. It was a complete waste of time to point out the obvious. What did they expect him to do? Cheer? Goten spared a disgusted look at his brother's angry eyes. "Do you have a problem?"
Gohan held up his fist to the Saiyan. Their father might be willing to have some kind of friendly negotiations with Goten, but in Gohan's eyes that man was still a Saiyan warrior. He was something to be despised, not to converse with. "I am looking for my daughter. She was near your pods landing point." Anger made Gohan speak in haste without thinking. "The girl with us was left wounded and my daughter, who was with her, is missing."
"Your daughter?" Goten blinked. This was an unexpected turn of events wasn't it. "You mean to say that there is another Demi- Saiyan?" Goten languished in the look of pure fear that took root on every face before him.
Gohan could have kicked himself. He had let his resentment control him. He had to be more careful. Pan's life and this planet's entire fate hinged on him keeping his cool. He had to admit, he was doing a pretty lousy job of it. "No, I would never pass the cursed blood of a Saiyan on to any child." He passed the lie easily. "My wife and I adopted her. I am very worried about my daughter."
Goten frowned. It was hard to decide whether to believe this tale or not. The only real way was to question the Earthlings more thoroughly. That could not be done until the family was united in full. A little shock therapy might help shake them up a bit. "Lord Trunks has her. You did not teach the girl the proper respect for her betters."
"Lord Trunks?" Gohan growled at the thought of Vegeta's son thinking he was better than his Pan. "Her betters?" He sneered on the word. It was not worth arguing about at this moment. The thing that needed to be dealt with now, was retrieving Pan from the Saiyan Prince's despicable clutches. "Just tell me, where is she?"
"Not far." Goten smiled at his brother, but there was no warmth in it. There was anger worthy of a Saiyan in his Earth-raised brother. Vegeta had not lied when he said Gohan was a very powerful Demi-Saiyan. "She is receiving instruction on her proper place. He will be finished with her shortly." He left the insinuation open, and relished the look of surprise on the other man's face.
"Finished with her? Great Kami!" Gohan blasted past his brother and headed of in the direction of his daughter's ki.
Goten shook his head and flew after him. If his brother thought he could disobey the Saiyan Prince and Goten would merely tolerate it, he would be sorely mistaken. Goten would see to it, at his own hand, that his family brought no disgrace to the family of Bardock.
Goku shot after them. His younger son had grown very strong over the years. It was obvious to everyone that the boy had not been mistreated. But Goten wore his loyalty on his sleeve for all to see, like some glittering badge of honor. It was Goku's worst nightmare come to life. His own son was one of his greatest enemies.
Krillin looked at a nervous Marron. "I want you to go wait with Chi-Chi and Videl."
"But, Daddy." Marron put out her hands. "Pan might need my help. That man was very strong. I have never felt such strength. How can you expect me to leave now?"
"Do what I say Marron! I am only trying to protect you!" Krillin turned his back on her, and flew after the Saiyans.
Marron hovered for a moment before a determined look crossed over her face. There was her safety to consider, but weighed against the good she could do, it left her little choice. She went after them too.
*********************************************************** *************
Pan felt the cloth give way under Trunks' vicious tug. Her hands moved over her bared chest to cover it from his eyes. "You can't do this!" She warned him. "My father is very strong and he not hesitate to will kill you for this." Pan kept her eyes open for chance to escape, as she moved slowly up the bank toward dry land. She had no success of fending him off in the water; maybe she would outmatch him in some way on dry land. Realizing that she had to hold up her drooping wet pants without the use of both hands, she reveled her breasts to him. Trunks took advantage of her dilemma by stalking her. He was like a predator, ready to pounce. "Stay back!" She bit her lip and wanted to kick herself for such a flimsy warning.
Trunks' answer to her demand was to advance, and push her backward. She landed solidly on her rear in the soft grass. Pan tried to rise, only to be pressed back down by his body lowering its greater weight over hers. She let loose her hold on her pants to place both hands on his armored chest and try to hold him off. "Don't." Pan looked into his eyes trying to appeal to his better nature. How lame was that? For all she knew he had no better nature. Stunned she could almost see the gears turning in his head as he read her soundless plea.
"Give me a reason why I shouldn't woman." Trunks watched her for an answer. He shouldn't have even asked her that. It didn't matter what she wanted, he was the Prince of the Saiyan, and his will was law throughout the universe, and that was all that really mattered.
Pan trembled beneath him as she tried to think of a reason he would accept. "I… don't know." She felt her brain racing for a reason so hard it was giving her a headache. "I just know I don't want you to do this." She whispered saying the first thing that came to mind.
Trunks brushed her hair back from her face and gave her a cold smile. "You will have to do better than that." She looked up at the softly spoken words. The determination she saw on his face was more frightening to her than his touch. "What you want is of no consequence to me. It is only what I want that truly matters." He looked down at her, slowly raking her form with his eyes. "And right now I want this." Pan felt her heart sink into her stomach at those words.
In one huge burst of strength, she pushed him off and rolled over onto her knees and began to crawl away. She was trying to gain her feet, but the soft soil kept giving way under the powerful moments. Trunks grabbed the first thing his hand came in contact with, her pants. The soaked material slipped down over her flanks, and Trunks looked up in time for his eyes to come into contact with the last thing he expected to see. A circular scar on the girl's lower back, just in the right place that it could be… NO WAY! The girl had once had a tail. There could only be one reason for that. She was a Demi-Saiyan!! The universe's most coveted creation had just fallen into his lap, and he had not even realized it. That explained his fascination for her. It had to. She was a creature like him. But why wasn't she on Planet Vegeta like Goten? Trunks stood up, the seriousness of the situation signaled to him that his playtime was over. There were more important things to be discovered here. He grabbed her frightened form by one arm, and lifted her to her feet. Grabbing his cape off the ground in one swift motion he tossed it over her shoulders. Covering her naked body from sight.
Pan ceased her struggling and looked up at him. Relief etched in every facet of her face "You… You have changed your mind?" There was surprise in the tone, and distrust.
"Yes, I have." Trunks growled. He did not like being reminded of that which he was being denied at this moment. The truth of the matter was, he hadn't changed his mind. Not in the least. He was more set than ever on having her. The only problem now was that the situation had changed. She was no longer a mere woman to be used and tossed aside. She had great value. That only left one question to answer. "Who are you?"
I hope you are enjoying this story, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read it. I wanted to take a moment to stress the importance of Bardockgurl's beta-reading efforts. ^_^ (Even though it takes me hundreds of goes to get it right!! - Bg)
