"Okay, lets see, the matching will be this: Piccolo vs. Goten, Goku vs. Vegeta, Krillin vs. Tien, and Trunks vs. Pan. Any others want to join in this tournament?" asked Bulma, looking around at everyone. Nobody else wanted to join. "Oh come on, sheesh, are we all really getting that old?"
"I have an excuse!" cried out Marron, everyone chuckling to that comment, glancing at the pregnant blonde sitting next to her mother.
"Heh, well, okay then, in that case, Trunks and Pan, you're up first!" exclaimed Bulma.
"What?? But I want myself and Kakarrot to go up first!" complained Vegeta.
"Vegeta, dear, we would like to have a room to actually hold this tournament in...if you and Goku go up first, where will the others fight?" Everyone grinned; they knew Vegeta and Goku would tear up the place within 5 seconds...
"Heh, think of it this way Vegeta, we're saving the best for last..." Goku chuckled as he patted Vegeta on the back.
Vegeta just crossed his arms. "Hmph, well, alright, but you're not going to win this time, Kakarrot..."
Everyone struggled not to burst out laughing at that comment. It's been so many years, and Vegeta is still in denial...
"Heh, okay Trunks, lets get this over with...I'm gonna make it short and sweet so I don't embarrass you or anything, okay?" Pan smiled as her and Trunks walked to the center of the sparring room.
Trunks grinned. "Whatever you say, PAN-CHAN."
Pan growled. "Oh you are so gonna get it for that..."
Just then Bulma stood up. "Okay, ready? GO!!!!"
The two Saiyans blasted forward. Pan cried out as she flew her fist out at Trunks's jaw. Just as she expected, he blocked it with ease, but she then used her back up plan and swung her leg to the back of his, knocking him over. Trunks quickly recovered, phasing out of sight before she had a chance to kick him right in his side. He phased back and grabbed her from behind, holding her in a strong chokehold. She soon got hold of him with her arms and flung him to the ground. The battle continued on, both doing quite well, fists and legs flying all over the place, the both of them phasing in and out, until after a while Pan managed to get him into an amazing hold. Somehow she locked her arms around his neck, putting him into the same chokehold he had her in before, only making sure his arms didn't grab her so he could toss her away as she had done to him earlier.
"Hah, now I gotcha..." she snickered, pushing him closer to the edge, about to win the match.
Trunks grunted, struggling to get out of her hold. He was surprised at how much stronger she had gotten over the years since they had last sparred, and was ashamed of himself that he couldn't even break out of her hold. The last time he had a chance to train or spar was years ago, around the same time when Pan was still a little girl.
Just at that moment, Trunks let out an anguished cry. A huge wave of energy and light flashed throughout the room, blinding everyone. Pan tried to keep her grip, but she couldn't any longer; the energy and power coming from Trunks was just too strong. She let go, stumbling backwards. One final blast of energy and power game flying through the room, along with one last flash of blinding light. Pan shielded her eyes. A moment after, she brought her hand down from her eyes, looking towards Trunks. He stood on the ground, his hair a bright gold and standing up over his head, his eyes a piercing aqua-green color, focused on Pan. A strong golden aura glowed around his body. Trunks had gone Super Saiyan.
Before anything was said, Trunks flew at Pan. She threw her fist at him, but just before contact, he phased behind her and kicked her in her back, sending her flying across the fighting platform. She gained control and flipped backwards, landing on the fighting platform just before the edge. Trunks phased over to Pan, but Pan was fast this time, and flew up into the air just before he got her. She cried out, her power level rising to its peak, a strong bright aura floating around her body. She needed all of her power and energy to defeat Trunks, that is, if she could defeat a Super Saiyan without being one herself. She flew out at him, kicking him in his side, then threw her fist into his face. The battle continued on, and it did not look good for Pan. She managed to get in a few kicks and punches. A while later, after taking quite a beating from Trunks, Pan had come down to her last ounce of energy. Standing up firmly planting her feet into the ground, she cupped her hands back and concentrated, focusing her energy all into one place.
"Kaaa...meeehhh...aahhhhhh....." All of Pan's energy started forming into a small ball of light in the palm of her hands. Trunks stood at the other end of the fighting platform, awaiting Pan's strongest attack.
"Meeeehhhhhhhh......." The ball of energy in Pan's palms became larger, growing stronger each second that past. This was it. If this didn't work, Pan would lose the match. It all counted on this one last, final attack. With that in mind, she closed her eyes tightly, draining all of the energy and power out of her body and transporting it to the beam that was being created in her hands. With one last final cry, she let it go. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The huge beam of power and energy blasted towards Trunks. He stood there, watching it as it neared him, closer and closer. Just before it hit, he threw his arms out, catching the beam. Pan stared in disbelief, as Trunks then hurled the beam of energy, her own Kamehameha, right back at her. Without thinking she threw her own arms out, in attempt to throw it back at Trunks...but she didn't have enough energy. The Kamehameha hit her, sending her flying backwards across the arena, outside the fighting platform, and right into the wall. A few moments later, the Kamehameha vanished, showing a bruised and wounded Pan lying on the ground against the wall.
"PAN!!!" shouted Videl and Gohan together, rushing over to their daughter to see if she was okay. Goku and ChiChi joined them, as all the others watched, concerned. Trunks stared over at Pan, his eyes wide, hoping he didn't hurt her. He then powered down, his SSJ form vanishing from sight as the odd golden aura around his body vanished, his hair flowing back down into it's normal mushroom cut, turning back to its normal light lavender color, his eyes back to its usual blue. He rushed over to Pan's side immediately.
"Pan! Pan, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Trunks asked, concerned, helping her up along with Gohan. Pan lifted her head up, nodding, then shrugging off her father and Trunks, walking on her own.
"I'm fine! Don't worry about it!" she responded, with a bit of attitude in her voice. She looked at their reactions, then cleared her throat. "I'm fine." She repeated, more gently this time. "Don't worry about it, I'm okay, thanks."
Everyone went back to their places, relieved that their little Pan was okay. They all prepared for the next tournament between Krillin and Tien, everyone that is, except Pan, who stood at the back end of the arena, then turned and walked out. Trunks turned to see where she went, seeing that she had gone, and followed her.

* * *
"Pan?" He said, running up to her side, seeing what was wrong. "Pan?"
"What?" she snapped, turning around to face him.
"I...I just...wanted to see if you were alright," he replied, wondering what was wrong, why she was acting like this.
"I told you already, I'm fine!" she exclaimed, continuing to walk away from him. Trunks ran in front of her, stopping her.
"Well it doesn't seem that way." Trunks looked into Pan's eyes deeply, paralyzing her, preventing her from moving away.
"It's nothing Trunks, I just...I...I..." she sighed.
"What is it?"
Pan closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm just kind of upset, I guess."
"Upset?" Trunks looked at Pan in disbelief. It was only a friendly little tournament! Why was she taking it so hard?
"I know what you're thinking, and that's not the reason. It's...it's just that..." Pan looked away.
"Just what? Come on Pan, just tell me..."
Pan looked back up at Trunks, and to Trunks surprise, with tears in her eyes. "It's just not fair that I'm the only Saiyan that never turned...Super Saiyan..."
Trunks couldn't help but smile a bit. He took Pan's face into his hands, wiping her tears away tenderly with the tips of his fingers. Their eyes met eachother.
"Pan, is that all?" he chuckled lightly. "Pan...I know you have it in you...you can turn Super Saiyan. I know you can."
Pan pulled away. "No I can't! I've been trying for so long...and...I...I just can't!"
"Pan, listen to me," said Trunks, "I know you can, you just haven't been able to bring that force of power out of you yet! Not to mention, you're still very young..."
Pan cut off Trunks. "YOUNG??? Trunks, I'm 19!! And don't fucking give me that "young" crap, you were 8 when you became a Super Saiyan! And Uncle Goten was 7 years old for God sakes!!!! So don't give me that shit!!!"
"Yes, but then again, my father was much older than you when he finally found the strength to become a Super Saiyan that he struggled and worked so hard for, and the same thing goes for your grandfather! It's different for every Saiyajin!"
Pan was silent. She turned away from Trunks, and suddenly flew up to the roof of his house, sitting on it, looking up at the sun setting along the horizon. Trunks flew up to her side, sitting next to her. He put his arm around her. "Pan...I can help you."
The young Saiyajin looked up at Trunks. "What?"
"I can help you. I will train you."
"You...you will?" She looked into his eyes, trying to see if he was kidding. He wasn't.
"Pan, if it means that much to you, I will train you. I will help you to become a Super Saiyan. I believe in you, and I know you can do it if you try." He brushed a loose strand of her hair away from her face. "You will become a Super Saiyajin."
Just at that moment, their eyes met once again. Slowly, they began to move closer to eachother...slowly...lips drawing nearer...closer...
"PAN!! TRUNKS!!! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS???" shouted out a familiar voice. They both snapped out of it, standing up and looking over the side of the roof. Bra was out in the yard, searching for them. They both flew down from the roof, and ran over to her.
"Where did you guys come from?" Bra asked, looking at the two of them.
"On the roof. I needed to get some air..." answered Pan.
"Oh. Okay then. Well, you guys gonna come inside? Piccolo beat Goten and Goku is about to kick dad's ass!"
They all laughed. With that, the three of them headed inside.
