Chapter Thirteen

The Reunion

BULMA watched in disbelief as Gohan ran towards Goku. When Goku didn't disappear as a hologram with have Bulma felt her mind processing the truth.

"You're really here." She whispered, tears springing to her eyes.

Goku put down Gohan after hugging him tightly to look down at Bulma. He smiled. "I am." He said as if to reassure her.

Bulma ran towards Goku throwing herself in his arms. He hugged her tightly as he spun her around, just like he used to when she was a little girl. After putting her down he gently wiped away the tears that had managed to escape her eyes. "Hey, don't worry, everything will be ok now." Goku said softly.

Bulma nodded before stepping away from Goku. She placed her hands on her hips and stared at Goku. "What took you so long?" She demanded, causing Goku and Gohan to laugh.

"It was not easy Bulma." Goku defended. "Luckily Kami was watching over us and when he saw what had happened he asked Korin to send Yajarobee to the island with some sensu beans."

"Good old Yajarobee." Bulma laughed at their friend.

"Yeah, some of the guys were in pretty bad shape. But everyone is ok now." Goku said.

"But I checked the island and Kame house wasn't on it." Bulma told Goku.

"Wow! How did you do that?" Goku asked.

"Never mind that Goku. Continue with your story." Bulma told him.

"Oh yeah. So anyway, Master Roshi decided to relocate, just in case any other trouble showed up. But we almost thought we would never find you two! Luckily we found a ship that one of those guys came to Earth in. It was broken though and its design was very intricate. It took dad ages to repair and with the city in ruins it was harder to find the right parts. But finally he managed to fix it and then he translated the the workings into english. From that we were able to find out were the ship came from."

"From here. And so you came." Bulma finished.

"Yeah, that's about it." Goku finished as he looked past Bulma to Vegeta. Vegeta was standing with his arms folded across his chest as he watched the reunion quietly.

Goku looked back at Bulma. "Is that the Frieza guy who caused us so much of trouble?" Goku asked.

For the first time since Goku's arrival Bulma turned to look at Vegeta who snorted at Goku's theory of him being Frieza.

"No, that's Vegeta." Gohan said excitedly after Bulma's long silence. "He kept us safe." Gohan said in his innocent way.

"Really. Then I guess I owe you a lot." Goku said as he went over to meet Vegeta. Goku offered Vegeta his hand but the shorter man looked at it distastefully before ignoring the extended hand. "Hey, you have a tail." Goku said.

"Yes." Vegeta smirked. "I am a Saiyan, and you are one too, Kakarot."

"A Saiyan, Kakarot?" Goku scratched the back of his head.

"Never mind that Goku, I can tell you on the way home. Did you come alone?" Bulma asked.

"The others were all set on coming but I talked them out of it. I wasn't sure what to expect." Goku said.

"Well we were fine daddy, we just missed you guys." Gohan said truthfully. "But Vegeta was great and he was training me dad, he's just as strong as you. Wait until you see how strong I've gotten daddy." Gohan rambled on excitedly.

"Don't tell your mum that Gohan." Goku advised. "She's been worried sick about you and she was sure Bulma would make you study everyday." Goku laughed.

'Oh no!' Bulma thought as Vegeta came forward.

"What did you say?" Vegeta asked Goku.

"Err ..." Goku scratched his head in confusion as he thought what he could have possibly have said to put such a shocked expression on Vegeta's face.

"His mother is standing right there." Vegeta pointed at Bulma.

Gohan immediately looked down at the ground as Bulma looked on helplessly.

"What?" Goku laughed.

"What is so funny?" Vegeta asked, his voice turning louder.

"Bulma is not Gohan's mother." Goku continued to laugh.

"What?" Vegeta said in disbelief as the words played in his mind over and over again. Bulma is not Gohan's mother. Bulma is not Gohan's mother. Bulma is not Gohan's mother.

"Vegeta." Bulma stepped towards him but he silenced her with a hand.

"Bulma is my sister and Gohan's aunt." Goku explained.

Vegeta's eyed widened. "But she's and Earthling, not a Saiyan and the boy is half Saiyan, half Earthling." Vegeta said as if Goku was insane!

"Yes." Goku agreed. "Well I was adopted. Bulma and I share no blood relation but she is still my family. And I am married to an Earthling, just not to Bulma."

"You lied to me!" Vegeta accused as he stared at Bulma in disgust. "All this time you've been toying with me."

"No!" Bulma denied fiercely. "I only ..." But she did not have a chance to complete her sentence as Vegeta walked away from her and towards the door. "Vegeta!" Bulma called as she made to follow him.

But she was stopped when Goku held on to her arm. "Care to tell me what's going on here?" He asked.

Bulma looked at Goku and then towards the door and then back at Goku. She felt torn between wanting to go after Vegeta and staying with Goku.

"I'll fill you in daddy." Gohan said as he held onto Goku's other arm, sensing Bulma's dilemma.

Bulma looked down at Gohan in appreciation. "Thanks kid." She said as she bent to kiss his head.

"I'll ready the ship so long." Goku told her.

She nodded at him and stealing one last hug from Goku she ran out of the room.

She had to find Vegeta and make him understand. However she had felt his anger and disbelief, over he lie, as if they were her own! But she had also felt his disappointment directed at her! Oh Great Kai, please let him understand! Bulma pleaded as she flew up to his private rooms.

Authors Note: Hey guys, I hope you are enjoying the story so far. I know some of you are not very happy that Bulma has kept her secret for so long but let me explain. I did not want it to just be a secret that would blow up in her face I wanted it to be the centre of trying to explain the Mysteries of Love.

No one expected Bulma and Vegeta to get together in the animation but they did and through it all they stayed together! Even with Yamchaa suggesting that Bulma and he get married and with Vegeta being, well Vegeta.

So I tried to do the same in the story. No matter what Vegeta thought Bulma was and no matter who Vegeta really was, the two still seemed to be attracted to one another! So I wanted to make Bulma and Vegeta's desire and feelings for each other REAL! Also I wanted to set up a platform to show how their feelings grew from an initial spark of attraction to something more deeper.

I hope that sheds some light on my reasoning.

However everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I do value constructive criticism. I'm a big girl and I can take it! ;-D !!! So until the next Chapter, happy reading.
