Chapter 6: Sweet Illusions

The light shined brightly through the curtain in Chi-Chi's room. Her eyes fluttered lightly before slowly opening up. Sitting up in the bed, Chi-Chi stretched her arms out and produced a slight yawn.

"Saturday! My favorite day of the week" she said as she pulled back her covers and slid out of bed. Grabbing her robe, she opened her door and headed straight for the living room. Scratching her hair, Chi-Chi walked in to see 18 sitting on the couch watching t.v.

"Morning!" Chi-Chi said as she sat down in the recliner chair near-by. 18 was quiet as she stared at the television. Chi-Chi looked at her and the look on her face.

"What's wrong with you? Didn't sleep well?" Chi-Chi joked as a smile appeared on her face. 18 looked at her with her eyes clearly narrowed and a frown on her face.

"Yeah I slept well, oh wait, I would be lying if I said that but then again you know all about lying, don't you Chi" 18 said.

"What's your problem? Are you still upset that I said I was going to work and I didn't? What's the big deal? I mean I actually did the right thing" Chi-Chi said.

"How do you figure by not going to work you did the right thing? I mean, you lost two days pay by going to that club" 18 said.

"Yes I did, but did you forget that last night I made up for those two days plus more when Goku gave me $1,000?" Chi-Chi asked as she glared at 18.

"I remember but are you that blind that you can't see what he's doing? He's just doing that so he could sleep with you for a week. You know it and so do I" 18 said.

"Why do you assume that's what he wants? Besides you were standing right there when he said he just wanted my company, no sex involved" Chi-Chi said.

"He may of said that but he didn't mean it. He was just trying to get on your good side" 18 snapped.

"Well if that's what he was planning then it worked and I'm still going out with him tonight" Chi-Chi snapped back.

"Mom! Aunt Chi-Chi!" a small voice said. Chi-Chi and 18 looked to see Marron standing behind them with her Winnie the Pooh doll clutched in her arms.

"Why are you fighting?" she asked. Chi-Chi looked at 18 who was looking at her. Getting off the couch, 18 walked over and picked Marron up.

"We weren't fighting, honey! We were just talking loudly" 18 said. Chi-Chi just looked at the two of them and sighed softly.

"Yeah, sorry for waking you" she said as she walked over to them. Marron just smiled as she held onto her doll. 18 glanced at Chi-Chi who just glanced back at her.

"I want to watch cartoons" Marron said. 18 smiled as she walked by Chi-Chi and sat down. Turning the t.v. to cartoons she just held Marron. Chi-Chi sighed as she walked back to her room.

The clock struck 5 in the afternoon as Chi-Chi just sat in the living room and watch t.v. 18 went off to work and Marron went to the park with Mrs. Marks so Chi-Chi had the house to herself. Flipping through the channels, Chi-Chi just couldn't think of anything but what she and 18 discussed earlier.

"I can't believe she said that about Goku. He just wants to get to know me, not sleep with me. I wonder why she is so against him?" Chi-Chi asked herself as she continued channel surfing. Just then phone started to ring. Chi-Chi slid over to the end of the couch and picked it up.

C: Hello?

G: Uh, Chi-Chi?

C: Goku! How are you?

G: I'm fine and you?

C: Just great

G: That's good! Listen, I was thinking about you and I going out to eat tonight

C: That sounds great. Where are we going to go?

G: Well I know this nice restaurant called Sweet Illusions.

C: I've heard of that place but don't you need reservations to get in?

G: Don't worry about all that? I'll be by to pick you up at 8. Is that a good time for you?

C: That's perfect. I'll see you then.

G: Ok, bye!

C: Bye!

Hanging up the phone, a smile appeared on Chi-Chi's face.

"I can't believe he's taking me to Sweet Illusions. That place is the toughest restaurant to get into" Chi-Chi almost yelled as she stood up.

"Oh my goodness, what am I going to wear? I can't go there wearing what I would to work" Chi-Chi said as her mouth flew open. Quickly she ran to her room. Flinging open the closet, she looked inside to see she didn't have much of a choice.

"I can't wear that or that. I need something nice I mean this is Sweet Illusions we're talking about" Chi-Chi said as she looked through her closet. Finally her eyes settled on a long white dress. It had rhinestones for straps and was low cut at the top and bottom.

"I`ll wear this, now where are those shoes" she said as she bent down and picked out a pair of white low cut heel shoes with straps in the back.

"I CAN'T WAIT!" she screamed as she looked her outfit over. Holding it up to her body, she went over to her mirror and spun around and around.

By 7:30, Chi-Chi was dressed and ready to go. She stood in front of her mirror and smiled at herself. She decided to let her long black hair flow down her back. Applying a light shade of lipstick to her lips, Chi-Chi put her make-up away.

"Aunt Chi-Chi!" Chi-Chi heard as she looked at herself. Leaving her room, she headed towards the living room to see 18 taking Marron's jacket off.

"Mom, look at aunt Chi-Chi" Marron said as she looked at Chi-Chi. 18 looked up and over at Chi-Chi before going back to Marron. Taking her jacket off, 18 went to the hall closet and hung it up.

"Are you going to work?" Marron asked as she walked over to Chi-Chi. Chi-Chi just smiled as she bent down and picked Marron up.

"No, I have a date tonight" she said as she gave Marron a kiss on the cheek.

"If you want to call it that" 18 said low but not low enough. Hearing what she said, Chi-Chi set Marron down on the floor.

"And what is that suppose to mean?" she said as she looked at 18. 18 looked at her then down at Marron.

"Marron, mommy and auntie need to talk so can you go to your room?" she said sweetly. Nodding her head, Marron ran off towards her room and closed her door.

"I mean he's just using you. He's not really taking you anywhere special. I bet he's taking you to the club since he already shelled out $1,000 bucks for you already and he's not about to spend more" 18 said as she sat on the couch and cut the t.v. on.

"For your information, he called and said he was taking me out tonight" Chi-Chi said.

"Oh yeah, where is he taking you? To his house to get his money's worth?" 18 spat.

"Does the restaurant Sweet Illusions mean anything to you?" Chi-Chi asked as a smile crossed her face. 18's mouth flew open for a second but it soon closed right back up.

"He's taking you there?" she asked Chi-Chi just nodded her head as she folded her arms across her chest. Just then the doorbell rung catching both their attention.

"He's here! Can you get that? I have to get my stuff" Chi-Chi said as she ran to her room.

*What does she think I am? A butler?* 18 said to herself as she walked towards the door and opened it. In front of her stood Goku dressed up in a nice black silk shirt with a tie. The shirt was tucked into a pair of black pants with a black belt going around his waist.

"Hi 18, is Chi-Chi ready?' he asked with a grin on his face. 18 just rolled her eyes as she walked away from the door and headed back towards the living room. Goku just stood there seeing as how she never invited him in. Just then Chi-Chi came out of her room with her coat and purse in her hands.

"Where is he?" she asked 18 as she entered the living room. 18 pointed to the door then went back to watching t.v. Chi-Chi just glared at her before going to the door. She smiled once she saw Goku standing there. Goku's eyes nearly fell out of his head as he looked at her.

"Chi-Chi, you look great" he said as he looked her over.

"Thank you, same to you" she said. The two just looked at one another.

"Here, let me help you" Goku said as he helped her put on her jacket.

"Thank you" Chi-Chi said. Goku just smiled. Just then Marron came running towards the door and looked at Chi-Chi.

"Bye Aunt Chi-Chi! Bye mister" she said as she waved at them. Goku looked down at Marron and smiled. Bending down, Chi-Chi gave her a kiss on the cheek then left the house with Goku, closing the door behind her.

The conversation was quiet as the two just sat in Goku's car and listened to the music that was playing on the radio. Pulling up in front of the restaurant, a valet came and opened the door, allowing Chi-Chi to climb out.

"Thank-you" Chi-Chi said as she just looked at the front to restaurant. The windows were completely clear, allowing you to look inside. The doorman held the door and smiled at anyone entering or exiting. All around Chi-Chi saw ladies dressed in their best outfits from long silk dresses to furs around their necks.

*WOW! This is one fancy place* she said to herself. Just then she felt a arm wrap around her waist. Turning to the side she smiled at Goku who smiled back.

"Ready?" he asked. Nodding her head, the two proceeded inside the restaurant. Goku stopped in front of the host who saw people to their tables.

"Yes, name please" the man said. Goku looked at Chi-chi with a smile on his face then over at the host.

"Son Goku, Party of two" Goku said. The host looked in the book before reaching over and pulling out two menus.

"This way" the man said as he walked inside and lead Goku and Chi-Chi to their table.

"Here you are sir! Madam!" the host said as he put the menus down on the table. Chi-Chi smiled as she took her jacket off and prepared to sit down but Goku stopped her.

"Allow me" he said as he held her chair out. Smiling at him, Chi-Chi sat down and Goku pushed her chair in before heading over to his own seat.

"Someone will be with you shortly" the host said as he walked away. Chi-Chi thanked him before picking up her menu. Opening it up, her eyes grew wide as she looked over everything.

"Something wrong?" Goku asked as he noticed her expression. Chi-Chi put the menu down and looked at him.

"No, it's just that this place is so expensive. I mean they even charge you for a glass of water" Chi-Chi said as she looked at the menu again.

"Just get what ever you want. It's all on me" Goku said with a smile on his face. Chi-Chi moved the menu to the side and just looked at him. A waitress slowly made her way to the table.

"Hello, and welcome to Sweet Illusions. I am Becky your waitress. Would you like to hear the specials we have today?" she asked as she looked at them.

"No thank you, I believe I'm ready to order. How about you Chi-Chi?" Goku asked as he looked at her. Chi-Chi just stared at him for awhile before looking at the waitress. Nodding her head yes, Chi-Chi looked at the menu again.

"I'll have number 7 which is the steak supreme. Can I have the steak well-done along with a bake potato on the side?" Chi-Chi asked as she handed the lady her menu.

"Yes, you can, will that be all?" the waitress asked as she wrote down Chi-Chi's order. Nodding her head, Chi-Chi looked at Goku.

"And for you sir?" the waitress said as she turned towards Goku.

"I'll have 3 number 7's well-done with extra sauce and give me 2 orders of the seafood platter?" Goku asked as he smiled at the lady. She had a sweat drop on the side of her face as she wrote down the order.

"Is……is that it?" she asked as she took his menu. Goku nodded his head and looked at Chi-Chi.

"Do you want anything else?" Goku asked her. Chi-Chi just stared at Goku in disbelief.

"Ok, I'll be back with those orders. What would you like to drink?" Becky asked.

"Send us a bottle of wine please" Goku said. Becky smiled as she went off to deliver the order. Goku looked at Chi-Chi and just smiled.

"You're going to eat all that?" Chi-Chi asked as she looked at him.

"Yep, I'm really hungry! You could of ordered something else, you know" Goku said. Chi-Chi was about to respond when another waiter came over with a bottle of white wine. Carefully he poured it in both of their glasses and walked away. Grabbing his glass, Goku raised it in the air.

"Let's make a toast! For this week to be the best week for both of us. I toast to me getting to know you a little better" Goku said. Chi-Chi smiled as she raised her glass as well.

"And I toast to getting to know you better and enjoying the time we spend together" she said. The two brought their glasses together and lightly tapped them against one another. Pulling away, the two took a small sip of their drink.

"It's no pina colada but it's still good" Chi-Chi said as she set her glass down. Goku smiled as he put his glass down as well.

"So, does your dad live with you and 18?" Goku said. Chi-Chi just looked at him.

"No, he died awhile ago" she said as she looked down at the table.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bring that up?" Goku said as he looked at her

"It`s ok! I don`t mind remembering him" Chi-Chi said as he picked up her glass again and took a sip.

"Your little niece is adorable. How old is she?" Goku asked trying to change the mood.

"She's 3 and she'not my niece. She's 18's daughter" Chi-Chi said as she set her glass down. Goku looked at her as he set his glass down. Not knowing what he was going to say she just remained quiet.

"Well that's nice! She seems like a good kid" Goku finally said. Chi-Chi just smiled.

"18's not married or anything but she does have a kid" she said. Goku just nodded his head as he smiled at her.

*I bet he's going to go off to Krillin and tell him now. As long as he knows she's single then its all good* Chi-Chi said to herself.

"You know, you look really beautiful tonight" Goku said as he looked at her.

"Thank you! I really like how you look as well" Chi-Chi said as she smiled at him. Soon the waitress came back with a rolling cart. She set one plate in front of Chi-Chi then looked at Goku.

"I'll leave this here for you sir" she said as she placed one plate in front of him and left the others on the cart.

"Thank you" Goku and Chi-Chi said before starting into their food.

Chi-Chi watched as Goku ate everything he ordered. She looked down at her plate and frowned. She wasn't even half way through her large steak and there he was engulfing everything in sight.

*C'mon Chi-Chi, you can't waste food. Especially when you're not the one paying for it. You can finish it* she said to herself as she cut the steak and prepared to eat it but she couldn't, she was just too full. Goku looked at her then down at her plate.

"You going to finish that?" he asked. Chi-Chi jumped up a bit as she looked at him.

*Oh great! If I say no then he'll think I'm wasteful and he won't take me anywhere anymore* Chi-Chi said to herself as she looked at him.

"Cause if not then can I have it? I'm still hungry" Goku said with a grin on his face. Chi-Chi just looked at him before handing her plate over to him.

"Thanks!" he said as he dove right in and ate the rest of her steak. Chi-Chi just watched in shock.

*Where does it all go?* she asked herself as he finished. Sitting back in his chair, Goku patted his stomach.

"That was good, wasn't it?" he asked her. Chi-Chi just nodded her head and smiled politely. Just then the waitress came back with a small black book in her hand.

"Your check sir" the lady said. Goku looked at her then over to Chi-Chi.

"Do you want dessert?" he asked. Shaking her head no, Chi-Chi looked at him.

"Ok, bring me 3 slices of chocolate cake, please" Goku said. The waitress's eyes went wide as she looked at him. Nodding her head, she took all of their plates then went to get his cake.

"You sure eat a lot. I wish I could eat like you do" Chi-Chi said once Becky was gone. Goku just smiled at her. Soon Becky came back with 3 slices of cake and a new check. After Goku ate it all he looked at the bill.

"Is it a lot?" she asked as she tried to see what the amount was. Goku just smiled at her and shook his head.

"No, it's only $157.50! That`s nothing!" Goku said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. Chi-Chi's eyes went wide as she heard the amount and his response.

*It's nothing? What is he, rich? He's a bartender at a bar and he says that that amount is nothing* Chi-Chi said to herself. He opened his wallet and pulled out a credit card. Slipping it in the black case, he set it to the side.

"Are you ok?" he asked as he looked at the shocked look on her face.

"Are you rich or something?" Chi-Chi asked him. Laughing, Goku just looked at her.

"I wish I was rich then I'd have a house full of nothing but food" he said as he continued to laugh. Chi-Chi didn't catch the joke but just laughed along. Soon Becky came back and took his plate and the black case.

"I'll be right back" she said as she walked off. Still holding his wallet, Goku opened it again and pulled out a ten dollar bill. Leaving it on the table, he looked at Chi-Chi. She just watched him and remained quiet. Soon Becky came back with his receipt and credit card.

"Thank you and please come again" she said with a smile on her face. Chi-Chi looked at her and just smiled.

*She must of seen that tip* she said to herself. Goku walked over and pulled Chi-Chi's chair out. Putting her coat on, Chi-Chi and Goku left the restaurant. The drive back to Chi-Chi's apartment was quiet as well. Soon Goku arrived in front of her building.

"I'll walk you up" he said. Chi-Chi just nodded her head. Goku and Chi-Chi walked up the stairs and stopped in front of her door.

`I had fun" Chi-Chi said as she looked at him.

"Me too! I'll call you tomorrow so we can do something else" Goku said. Chi-Chi just smiled and nodded her head. Goku smiled as he leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Goodnight" he said as he started to walk back down the stairs. Chi-Chi just watched him as he disappeared out of her sight.

"Goodnight, Goku" she said softly as she put her key in and opened her door. Taking one last look at the staircase she slowly closed the door with a smile on her face.

AN2: Next chapter: I'm speeding ahead and the week is almost up. Chi-Chi develops feelings for Goku but what will it lead too? Will she break his no sex involved statement? Find out in the next chapter. PLEASE REVIEW! THANKS!
