Sculpted In Gold
Chapter 6
Even as she created the elegant gown and the beautiful jewelry to match it in pink sapphire and platinum with her magic, Raya's thoughts were on the past. That day thirteen years earlier when Shinesta had been returned to her care, right after the Elves had lost the war. It was Zarbon that had brought Shinesta to the quarters that had been chosen specifically for her supposed exile. She and the other servants had already been brought in to get settled and prepare for her arrival. As three of Shinesta's servants were talented mages, it had taken only a few moments to see to arranging the kitchen and other rooms. Their mistress was all that had been missing, and Raya remembered that she had been so worried… and when she had seen her, Raya had feared that the worst had come to pass- but she had been wrong. The truth had been far worse, for it brought them into this never ending nightmare…
"I'm glad that you like it so far, but there is more." Zarbon had been telling Shinesta smugly, as he led her inside. She had had been pacing the front hall anxiously as the others set about preparing some food in the kitchen, so she had heard them coming before any of the other servants, and not wanting to draw attention to herself, or to the presence of their mistress yet, Raya had hidden around the corner as the Empress had quietly looked around her new 'home'. "Through that door is a small sitting room which opens into the central hall. The hall connects your study, dinning room, a kitchen, the library and the stairs. Your private bedroom and bath are on the second floor above the library and both of the library and your bedroom connect to your private gardens. The servant quarters are on the far side of the kitchen. If you need anything else, I have labeled a button on the com-screens in the library and dinning rooms and set them both to where I can be reached. The palace itself and all of the other gardens are also open to you. Please excuse me, my lady, I actually run more of Frieza's Empire than he does, I need to get back to it."
She shrugged, and sighed, absently touching the pedestal of a large elegant statue as she walked past it, toward the rest of her quarters.
"Is he gone yet?" Raya had whispered finally.
"Raya?? Is that you? " Shinesta gasped.
She had giggled and came out of the shadows to hug her as she nodded. "Of course it's me, my lady. It'll take more than a war with those bastards to keep me from my duties in looking after you. They didn't hurt you, did they? "
"I-I'm fine, Raya."
"Look me in the eye and say that again," Her handmaiden challenged, and Shinesta dropped her gaze. "I knew it! I…"
"I'm fine Raya. I promise, I'm just afraid for Shani. "
"They haven't given her back yet? They can't do this! She's only a child! "
"Frieza has promised that he won't hurt her, if I do what he wants."
"What does he want you to do?"
Shinesta couldn't answer, and when she started to cry, Raya swore softy under her breath as she embraced her gently. "I should've known. Those bastards raped every one of us they could find. Are you sure you are all right? I still have two potions of healing."
"They raped you? Oh Raya… are you ok?"
The memory still made her smirk. "Yes, I'm fine, my lady, but then again it's hard to rape a mage, who always has the impotence spell and power word rut memorized… Actually, I was fortunate; the man who grabbed me wanted his privacy, so all he got was a sticky pillow, a forget spell and breakfast in bed. He thought he had had an enjoyable night, complete with too much to drink but you should've seen the confusion on his face when I kissed him good morning. Calla and Regina were not so lucky, there were too many, and the same happened to Jalla, she died this morning."
"What? They killed her? Damn those animals! How can they look at themselves in the mirror? I don't understand… This seems like a bad dream Raya, like it goes from bad to worse… I think he means to keep me… as his mistress, and I'm a prisoner. I can't stop him, because only he knows where Shani is."
The black haired elf bit her lip, studying the face of the beautiful monarch, and then she nodded slowly, forcing a smile onto her face. "So the lizard has at last decided to exhibit taste? Hmmm, You know, I can see why he'd be tired of his usual females. Those Rhinarian pleasure slave things all look alike. Hell, they don't even look real, who ever thought of lavender skin and hot pink hair? Those Allurian things are even worse! Peach hair, blue eyes and pink skin, yeah, I think they must have been a little drunk or something in the labs that day. Anyway, I suppose, if he wants an Elven mistress, then we'll just have to make sure that after he sees you, that he doesn't even think twice about the other little pieces of fluff he could have."
"Raya… "
"Oh come on, you know you love it when I do your hair and make-up for state occasions."
"But…"
"Nope. No buts, although speaking of yours, I think we need to put you in something scandalously sexy yet elegant. Something his little slave girls couldn't even dream of… let alone afford. "
"Raya! I need to try to find Shani! "
"Shani is wearing a medallion that stops all divination spells, including hers. I convinced Zarbon to tell me that much, last night, but there is no telling what other devices they have on her, that he didn't mention. Don't look at me like that, you know that I have always found him immensely entertaining." Raya had laughed. "Besides, your majesty, how else is the Empress supposed to get the interesting gossip at court if her ladies in waiting aren't coaxing it out of their lovers for her?"
Shinesta had blushed and tried not to laugh. "You're so forward, Raya…"
"And you are too shy… I know that you still love him, Shinesta, but Logan would never have wanted you to forget who you are. I know that you have had your title to think of and Frieza's little games… but we are creatures of passion and love and you can't tame that part of your nature and he wouldn't have wanted you to try. He loved you because you followed your heart and dared to challenge your mother's authority, and you won for him. He will not blame you for this either… "
"The first time I saw Lord Frieza, the way he looked at me, made me very nervous… I feel so stupid! I knew what he wanted… and I was still taken alive!"
"And if you had been dead, where would Shani be? She would still be his pawn. At least if he has something he wants from you, there is a way to protect her."
"Do you realize how barbaric this is? I don't want to be his whore. I've already slept with him twice and I can't even tell you he raped me!"
"Shinesta, you can't hate the way he makes you feel if you are going to protect Shani from him. If he isn't going to rape you then good, you don't know how lucky you are! Under Shinalla we are allowed to experience her love as in giving pleasure to ourselves, are we not? Yes, and this is the same thing, you aren't going to anger the goddess by using her gifts of your beauty and passion to protect your child. If anything she'll smile upon you even more. What he is doing is wrong, but if you can protect her, even for a little while, by going along with it, then you are right, and very brave to do so. And I am going to help you." Raya had said, holding the Empress gently. "Now then, let's go get rid of those bruises and see about some real clothes…"
"Raya?" Shinesta asked softly, her voice gently bringing her from her thoughts. "Are you still going to be here when I return?"
"Yes. Don't worry about us. I won't leave Shani while you are gone. You can depend on me."
"Thank you." The Empress then glanced at herself in the mirror once again and nodded a smile of approval was starting to steal across her face, but she stopped it, setting her features in a determined look. Closing her eyes, she had learned over the years to feel the presence of the tyrant, and she followed his life force to his location. He wasn't alone, but she knew where he was, and she also knew the other powerful presence that was there with him. Zarbon seemed surprised to see her as she appeared in the back of the room, behind the lineup of expensive and artificial doll-like beauties that made up his harem. "You know, you really ought to send them away. I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings, knowing it is I that will be sharing your bed tonight, Lord Frieza."
The assembled slave girls gasped in surprise and turned to face the Empress looking confused and frightened. Dressed in little more than a bra and panties, all the different types garbed in the same red satin, each one was aware that they paled in comparison to the elegant and exotic woman in a gown as regal as it was alluring. Some of the older slave girls backed away slowly, bowing their heads respectfully, sensing at once that she was royalty, quickly the others followed their lead and there was a clear path for her to Frieza, but she remained where she was. Her eyes were cold and unwavering as they returned the tyrant's gaze.
Frieza was chuckling slightly as he moved toward his mistress slowly. "For your impertinence I should choose several of them, just to prove you wrong. But I suppose that it wouldn't convince either of us that I don't want you. Considering how desperately you had been missing your daughter though, so I am surprised that you came tonight."
"You shouldn't be." Shinesta shrugged. "When you made this arrangement with me, you told me that the choice of when was not mine to make. Never once have I tried to argue that point with you. Nor have I ever complained in any way about the frequency or length of our encounters. In short, I have kept my end of our bargain. For thirteen years I have been a very agreeable mistress to you in private and even allowed you to take my arm, at the parties and functions of state held here, at your palace and yet tonight when my child was returned to me, once again I find that she was injured."
"I tolerate quite a bit more opinion from both of you than I do anyone else, Shinesta, you know that. But even for you, and your daughter, my patience does have its limits, and I'm warning you that I am reaching it quickly once again." Frieza growled in a low voice, drawing hushed but frightened whimpers from the pleasure slaves. "Zarbon, get them out of here."
"Of course, but where would you like me to put them sire?" Zarbon asked evenly, reminding Frieza that this was the great room of the harem slaves' quarters.
Shinesta smirked, finally moving over to Frieza, who was watching her with mild interest until she had reached him and she kissed him lightly. "They don't have to leave, my lord. We will. Your bed would be infinitely more comfortable than the sea of pillows in here."
Zarbon gave a heavy sigh of relief, as the two disappeared just as the kiss began to deepen, even though the girls surrounding him were looking around bewildered and afraid. "Who was that?"
"She is the one Dodoria told us about?" One of the slaves said, and the others quickly fell silent to listen. "She is the one who he has bewitched him?"
"Yes Three, but no she has not put a spell on him. Dodoria is just a jealous idiot. That is the Empress of the Elves, and she is probably the bravest and the most stubborn woman I have ever met, no wonder her daughter is such a handful… I'm sorry ladies, but I need to be going."

The terrain of the planet was a trackless jungle of rolling hills and mountains which seemed to be interrupted only by crystal clear rivers and waterfalls. Flowers and bright colored birds, animals and insects were everywhere during the sun drenched days, a paradise of beauty and light. But at night, the flowers were pulled back into the stalks of the plants and the shy, playful animals that lived among them vanished into the canopy of shadows that enveloped the landscape as the sun slowly sank into the pools of mist rising from the rivers far into the distance. Darkness on De Arran, was total when it arrived each night. Even Napa's superior vision was at a disadvantage here. The steamy jungles of its daylight hours were replaced by a fog that the three moons above scarcely seemed to penetrate. With dense vegetation casting endless shadows and innumerable hidden caves where the vermin he was here to destroy, hid from the sweltering sun during the day, the planet was a dangerous one.
The huge warrior pushed himself to his feet, and stretched. The cave where he had been resting, was cooler now as the last rays of the sun turned the mists rising at the far horizon into molten fire. He smirked, things would be different tonight, no more scrambling and struggling just to keep his footing on the smooth rocks and tree roots as he fought, wishing he could get in his pod and retreat...
"Sssso… are you sssstill alive afterall?" The voices of the native creatures made his skin crawl and Napa turned to the shadows of the cave's interior with a feral growl. "How much longer do you think you will be able to lasssst? You mussssst be very tired. Why don't you get back in your ssssssship and leave with your friend?"
Napa stared at the creature, still partially cloaked in the shadows at the very back of the cave as if it had suddenly grown another head. "You know about the pods?"
"Yessssss. Your sssssscent isssssss all over the tiny ssssssship, ssssssurface dweller, jusssssst assssssss the sssssssscent of the other warrior wassssss all over the other sssssship. My ssssssscouts reported the sssship and your friend missssssing yesssssterday before our battle. I wanted to know why you didn't leave too."
" Elite Saiyans don't run away from a fight. Now, how did you get in here? I checked this cave twice. It doesn't connect to the others and it isn't very long. That was why I chose it." He glanced outside distrustfully. Darkness was almost upon him, and still he didn't hear any of the other creatures stirring.
"Assss you ssssslept the sssssun wassss blocked by treessss for a few hourssss, allowing me to sssslip passsst you." The creature told him evenly.
"You're going to regret not killing me when you had the chance then." Napa purred, he resisted the urge to go and strangle the lizard that had to have spent at least two hours in the cave with him and yet had neither attacked, or spoken to him previously. He didn't want to admit that he was more than a little unnerved by the surprise. As he turned on his heel, Napa could see the luminous green eyes of more of the natives just outside, waiting in the dark mist. As he walked toward them, he began to summon a globe of silver light into his hand, concentrating it just as the prince had instructed him. Familiar with the Ki attacks that he and Radditz had used against them for the last month, the creatures backed away with what seemed a single hiss, but Napa smirked, for the energy he was gathering would not be directed at them, nor would they have the energy attacks needed to destroy what it was going to create.
