With that said, everyone laughed or chuckled to him or herself. Miranda blushed as everyone just looked at her. She was embarrassed as she thought," Maybe that wasn't such a wise thing to say?" ChiChi saw her look and decided to put her at ease, "You're going to fit right in." Then Bulma adds, "Also, it is past lunch. Let's head to our house. I'm sure the food is ready by now." An "All right!" sprang from those of the group most food-driven.
Mean while, Miranda's father was ranting away. "Man! Look at how much he gave for Miranda! (It's about 1,000 of their currency). I'm glad I never told him how much I got for my other daughters. Who'da thought! She wasn't anything but a bad memory anyway. Good riddance!" He's also hoping Goku doesn't get a clue as to what the laws are concerning a second wife. So maybe after their one year he can marry her off to someone else or get more money from Goku.
All while he was ranting the girls mother wished he'd shut up and let her daughter try to be happy. It wasn't the girl's fault that she was born of a violent act. It was her husband's fault if you asked her. He was the one too weak to defend her and keep her safe. He was the one who couldn't keep her from harm and let her be a victim to the brutal act. Then he pitched a fit when he found out she was pregnant! How did he think babies were made anyway? Well, all she knows is that ever since the day Miranda was born, her husband hated her daughter. Then as the girl got older the worse he treated Miranda. The girl was a natural born fighter. He'd kick her down she'd get right back up. Then all the stronger for it. But the girl soon learned to show some respect (even if it wasn't earned) for her husband had taken to beating the mother if the girl misbehaved. The girl hated seeing her mother beaten for something she had done.
But the girl was a natural born fighter. She had been involved in some scuffles at school and always won. Then as she got older, Miranda's mother's husband would refuse to buy her any clothes. So the girl took to street fighting as a way to make some money to buy some clothes. Whatever was left, she'd give to her mother, hoping maybe someday her mother could buy her way out of the marriage.
But the woman now knew that wasn't possible. She had two more children by her husband. She hoped that they would be as kind and caring as Miranda. She also hoped and prayed that Goku would be a good and kind husband for her. She could only hope.
Back at Capsule Corp., everyone finally arrived. Bulma's mother had set everything up. Miranda was stunned. She had no idea that they would do this. And, she'd never seen so much food and drinks. They had even hired a D.J. Why would they do this? Well, it was a good start to a new life.
She was standing there with a stunned look on her face. ChiChi looked at her and smiled. Bulma had grabbed Miranda's hand and lead her to the buffet table. "It is customary for the bride and groom to eat first," said Bulma. "All right! Come on Miranda. I'll help you pick out the best stuff," said the groom with enthusiasm. ChiChi looked troubled after that exchange. It finally hit her she had to share Goku.
Goku and Miranda were now sat at a table, sharing their first meal as husband and wife.
I know it weird but she'll fit in. I have a plan. Really!
