Goten entered his father’s bedroom only to stall upon seeing Radditz. “Hey.” He nodded to Goku who sat at the kitchen table.
“Goten.” Goku’s eyes however were not meeting his own.
“What’s wrong?”
“Sit down, son.” Goten took his eyes up to Radditz who seemed to have a smug look on his face but showed no emotion except a deep frown, his arms were crossed and he stood directly behind Goku. He sat down across from his father. “What did you tell Vegeta when he asked about the pod?”
His eyes shot up to Radditz as if sending silent words of hate. “I told him the baby had died.”
“Why did you do that, Goten?”
“I thought they were going to hurt him.”
“I understand your reason. But you lied. And once you found out Radditz was my brother, why couldn’t you tell him the truth?”
“It wasn’t their job. I was suppose to get Arcadia back. He is my brother.”
“Why couldn’t you tell me?”
Goten held his head in his hands. This was exactly the situation he tried to avoid for the past ten months. Since the day they first landed on Vegeta-sei. “I thought you would blame me and hate me for it.”
Goku showed no emotion but anger, “I can’t hate you, Goten. But I can’t believe you did this. We could have saved Arcadia. He would have never died.”
“I know.” He whispered sadly. “I know.”
“Radditz also told me, Arcadia is back. But he’s different now.”
Goten quickly interrupted, “If I could only talk to him-”
“You don’t have a right to go near him.” Radditz shouted but quickly sucked in his anger.
“I have more right then any of you. He’s my brother-”
“Goten.” Goku stood. “Lower your voice.” Goten dropped back down in his chair again. “How could you keep something like that from all of us?”
“I didn’t mean to keep it a secret. I thought I could fix it.”
“You’re too old for this. To lie to me like this.”
“Dad, I swear I can make it right. I wished Arcadia back didn’t I?”
“That doesn’t excuse your actions.”
“I know, but I’m trying. I’m sorry. I didn’t think it would go this far.”
“I’ve told your mother all that’s happen. She knows Arcadia is alive again. But she doesn’t want to see you again.”
“Dad-”
“No, Goten. There is no lying your way out of this.”
“Dad, I can fix things.” His eyes searched the ground for more words until some knowledge hit him. “Kali!”
“What about him?”
“Radditz, something is wrong with Kali. He’s being controlled by something.”
“What are you talking about, boy?”
“He’s different now. I can feel it. Dad, all that training with Piccolo, I can feel what’s inside of him. If Gohan was here- Dad I’m serious. I think Kali is the one that has been blowing up all the planets.”
“That’s enough, Goten.”Goku looked over at Radditz and his brother nodded. “We have a ship ready for you.”
“What?”
“I don’t want you here. You have dishonored this family. And you have betrayed Bulma after everything she has done for you. And now you’re lashing out at innocent people. It would be best if you left. Go back to Earth. Your mother has packed up all of your stuff. Go to your apartment and stay away from here. I’m sorry, Goten. But you caused this.”
“I can fix it, and I’m going to. And no one is going to stop me. Not even you dad. I’ll prove to everyone that Kali’s the killer and I’ll fix Arcadia.” Goten turned to the door only to find three guards standing in front of the door. “What’s this?”
“Radditz said you’d fight back.”
Goten turned his face to his father, his black eyes swirling with teal. “Call them off, Dad.”
“Then come with me to the ship. Don’t cause anymore trouble for yourself, Goten.”:
“I’m staying here. I need you to trust me, dad.”
“I can’t, Goten. You lied and your brother paid with his life. I can’t trust you.”
“I’m not going anywhere.” Goten quickly powered up raising his hands to his eyes, “Solar Flare.” The bright light erupted and blinded the room in complete sun light and when every one’s eyes adjusted, Goten was gone.

Bulma’s body hit the floor when she fainted. Trunks hurried over to her, catching his father eyes in worry. Vegeta just bent down and lifted her to bring her to the bed. Trunks quickly sat down at her side, waiting for her to awaken. Vegeta allowed himself a moment, watching Trunks once again next to his mate. And once again he was convinced that this was his son and a new reality struck him. All the words that his own father had said to him had finally been proven wrong. His legacy was here and alive and healthy. There was no more suffering. Vegeta had finally achieved what he had always set out to do. To be whole. And Trunks was the piece that was always missing. Now he’s back. And now Vegeta could let much of his guilt fall away. He stepped out of the room, allowing them to have their time.
Trunks gazed upon her now, grasping her small hand and placing it in his, amazed at how large his were compared to hers. Their skin however the same light color, the same softness. He traced her delicate nails and touched her palm with his. He felt her blue hair then his lavender smiling lightly, tears inching through as the realization hit him. It was her. Everything that was her was him. And he was here and so was she and nothing was going to separate them now. No war, no death. It was just them. He was her son and she was his mother.
His lip shook, but he forced the unfamiliar word out of his lips. “Momma.” Her head titled and she slowly lifted her eye lids. Upon seeing his face she smiled brightly and closed her eyes again.
“I’m here, baby. I never left you. I’ll always come back to you when I sleep. You must know that by now.”
His smile depressed some. “Mom, I’m here. I’m real. I’m not a dream.”
Her eyes opened again. “No, I know. You’re an angel.” Her hand cupped his cheek, he closed his eyes and leaned into it. “You’re so smart. You are exactly how I thought you would be. I know I’ve told you that so many times.” Her brows knit, eyes shut tight. “Your warm.” She stated with confusion. “And I can feel you.”
Her body suddenly shot up, eyes wide open and she quickly turned to look at him, but it only brought fear. She grabbed the sheets and pushed back on the bed. “Who are you?”
An unknown pain instantly struck him and he stood with furrowed brows trying to hold back all the hurt that welled up. “I’m. I’m your son.”
“My son is dead.” She bit violently crawling off the bed, backing herself in the wall, “Who are you? What do you want?”
“Mom-”
“Don’t call me that. Transform back.”
“Please, try to understand.”
“Understand what? You impersonating my dead son! Who the hell are you?” Vegeta quickly returned feeling his son’s pain and his mate’s fear, he entered the doorway and Bulma rushed to his side. “Vegeta get rid of this thing.”
“Woman, this is your son.”
Bulma slowly backed away from him too, hitting the wall once again. Tears flowed down her cheeks as her eyes flickered back and forth from mate to son, trying to outrun what all of this was to mean. No longer able to keep strength in her legs, her back slid down till she sat on the floor.
Trunks was quickly on his knees before her gripping her hands that violently shook and she tried desperately to rip them away. “I died. You’re right.” her head shook, closing her eyes in fear. “I laid in your arms and I died. And I was dead for a long time. But then, I woke up like from a nightmare. And I was on a planet I didn’t know. I still had blood on me.” Her head leaned back and hit the wall as she stared up at the ceiling, wishing to all the gods to help her understand. “I had memories of horrible things. I didn’t want to be alive. I wanted to stay dead. But then I thought of that woman holding me. The thought of my mother holding me while I died. I was able to stay sane enough. And then father came.” Bulma’s eyes went to Vegeta and he gazed right back at her with no deception on his mind. “He brought me memories and people. And I started to remember everything. Klooer and my sister.”
Her head shook and eyes squinted in her misery, “How can this happen?” She whispered through her tears.
“I don’t know. I don’t care anymore. I’m here now.”
Her eyes darted all around the room, blinking out tears each time, trying to avoid desperately his face. But then she caught it. The blue that was unmistakable across the universe. Those eyes poured over her like cold water. So blue and beautiful her hands gripped his cheeks so quickly to hold his head still as if to see down into his soul through his eyes. “You’re mine?” He nodded with a small smile. “You’re real?” He laughed softly and sniffed while nodding again. “I saw you die.” Trunks closed his eyes with tears and nodded. “I held you. There was so much blood.”
“I wasn’t afraid. You were there. And I wasn’t afraid anymore.”
“Oh, my baby boy.” Bulma pulled him into her arms holding him against her, crying against his hair, touching the lavender locks only to pull away again to look upon his face. “You here. You’re finally here.”
“I’m here and I’m never leaving.”
“Never. You’re never leaving my side.” She pulled him in again.
“I have no problem with that.” He whispered into her neck, tears falling without a care while taking in her scent for the very first time. Feeling her arms wrapped tight around him, holding him safe, knowing that for the longest time, since he first found out he had a real mother, that this was where he had always wanted to be. And he marked it to memory. The first memory that was pure and real, and all his. Who ever he chose to be, this memory was his.
