Chapter Six:

The day of arrival at Zarbon's ship was here. Marei gentle squeezed Amber's hand as the loading dock came into view. Marei let go of the controls for navigating, as the larger ship took over the ship. The mouth of the dock seemed to swallow the smaller vessel. The two broke from any sentimental physical bond. It could not seem as if the two had any sort of attachment for one another. The two ships gently scarped each other as the Namek's ship landed.

"Please state name and occupation." an animated female's voice rang through the ship.

"Cenia for technical studies." Amber just about screamed into the intercom.

"Lescia for technical studies." Marei answered in the same distant tone.

Several beeps and buzzes echoed through the entire ship. The two exited through the ship on a moving platform. A short, plum woman with pink skin and green hair that fell to the ground began to shout commands in a high, shrill voice. Marei glanced around the loading dock, several other vessels were there with all types of creature appearing from them. The plum woman began to shout again, this directing it to the new arrivals.

"All identification cards are to be check in and the cards allow you access to three wings of this vessel. Any contact to any other part of this vessel is immediate death, no excuses. All technical pupils have a curfew of the 13th hour. Any person caught after those hours not in their quarters are to be killed by the nearest guard." Her voice carried through the entire room, ringing in the Nameks' ears.

"Damn, you don't have this, we kill you. You are there we kill you. I need a sign stating `don't shoot.'" Amber mocked softly, earning only a simile from Marei.

"We have to obtain those security accesses, or this is all pointless."

"No, we don't." Amber gently hummed to the confused friend, "Look over there."

Amber titled her head to direct Marei's attention to the higher corner of the loading dock; an air duct.

"You don't if that is even breathable."

"It is, I already had that checked upon. Plus, I even have routes for it." Amber countered with a slight nudge to her friend.

"Master Zarbon, they have arrived." A small man dressed in a black body suit under gray armor. He rose from on knee to leave.

"I did not dismiss you soldier."

His words were soft yet his actions countered them as the soldier was blasted through the head. Blood pouring freely from his mouth. The stench of burned flesh and new death filled the room.

"I believe among those new arrivals are your mates." He chuckled softly to himself, as the ki bars of the prison held Nail and Piccolo. (Gohan had escaped while the two made a distraction.) The two growled at their captor, but it merely turn his chuckle to a loud crackle. He turned and exited the cellblock.

"Piccolo, how are we to warn them? Our metal bonds are nothing to this room; its black magic erases our voices in their heads. It is laced with the curses of a thousand deaths." Nail asked as he slumped against the wall, defeated.

Piccolo looked to his friend, not sure of what to say to him. If were to offer words off encouragement, they would be misleading and a vast understatement. Although if he were to say of chance of their death it would be cowardly and he would lose hope.

"We must be strong and keep faith."

Marei and Amber were led into their room. The area was small and two beds were pushed to opposite ends of the room and they were hastily made. There were two chests at the end of the beds and they were a plain dull gray, as was the rest of the room. The two began to search the small room. It only took a short period to locate what they were looking for, vents. There was one small vent located directly above the door to the sole closet and it creaked loudly when amber nudged it open. A small cloud of dust exited the vent and Amber sneezed.

"Kami bless you," Marei said by instinct, "How far from here to Zarbon's quarters. I want to slice his throat as quickly as possible. This place gives me shivers, I can almost feel the death radiate off of the metal."

"Now keep your ki and voice down. If we spoke too loudly our voice would echo through the entire ship." Amber reminded as she climbed into the dust hole.

"No sneezing." Marei joshed.

Marei followed her friend into the dirty vent, trying to keep herself from crying out when a slimy bug crawled across her hand. Amber led the way down the dark path and used a small flashlight she had found earlier to light their way. Marei began to let her mind wander as she followed aimlessly. Piccolo had not contacted her in so long she was afraid of hearing of his death. Although she had faith in herself and Amber in this mission she felt as if something wasn't quite right.

`It just is too unreasonable to think that not one, but two assassins could fake their way onto a ship and kill its chief officer. Someone had to know. Someone had to know and that someone isn't going to be fighting for our cause.' Her thoughts were interrupted as she crashed into her friend, who had came to an abrupt stop. She shot an annoyed glance at Amber, but followed her friend's frightened eyes. Zarbon stood with his back to them. He was talking with a white being with a very girlish face. Marei instantly recognized the monster as Freesia. Marei stranded to listen to the words the two spoke, but they were in a tongue foreign to her ears. She glanced back to Amber who has tears in her eyes.

`What is it?' she asked through their mental bond, as reached to comfort her friend.

`Zarbon…' she paused, "Zarbon is speaking with Freesia about the death of us and our mates. He says that one Sayien with short hair got away and he has many troops out for his death. Zarbon warns his father of the legend and suggests that he take on more severe defensive methods.'

Marei sat dumb-founded. She knew that something was not right and someone on the outside knew. She just was hoping that it was not Zarbon, yet it was. She gently took Amber's hand in her own and gave it a gentle squeeze.

`What is this legend he speaks of?' she kept her mental voice calm and stable although her comrade knew of her fear as well as her own.

`Neither Zarbon nor Freesia specified this. I do not know of Cold Legend or of Sayien, but I know of someone who might know. If we can get ahold of Gohan, he is very updated in both cultures of the Cold and Sayien. If the four of us could combine our mental powers we should be able to find him, but our sole powers of mental capability will not reach out of this solar system.'

`Amber, we do not know if Nail or Piccolo are still aboard.'

`We just have to hope for a miracle; that we will all live through tonight.'

The two quickly moved on to get the sight of Zarbon out of view although his image stayed planted in their minds. The two keep moving until the reached an empty room. Kicking the vent lose, they dropped down into the room and spread the air circulation charts on the floor. They began to calculate a route to the area near the engine where the containment hold was located. The charts were old but reliable, plus many did not even know that the air vents lead through every room in the entire ship. The two climbed back into the vent system and began their way to the lower regions of the ship. It grew warmer and warmer as they neared the engines. They hear the hummed of the vast gears and other various mechanics churning in their holds and fixtures.

Again they kicked the vent out of walls and the metal of this vent crumbled upon impact, it was either very old or very hot. The two were covered from head to toe in dark cloth to hide their coloring although it cause them great uncomfort in the heat. The two landed with small thuds and the room smelled horrid. Various bodily liquids covered the walls, mainly blood. The room was dark and damp, although the bright ki bars of each hold shone clearly. Glancing from hold to hold she noticed many were Sayiens with high power readings. One female was slummed against the wall, her black and blue bruises clearly noticeable. She was breathing regularly which was the only sign that she was even living.

"Miss." She spoke softly but sternly. "Miss." She repeated herself louder.

The small form of her began to shake and tremble. "Don't take me back to him. Please I beg of you, don't take me to him."

Marei gasped at the fear in her voice, when her small head lifted so that Marei could see her face. Marei turned away as she noticed both of the young Sayien's eyes were gorged out. The tissue was still slowly bleeding.

"I am not here to take you anywhere. I am here to help." She assured as she faced the mutilated face once more. "Do you know where two Nameks were taken to?"

"Yes, Lord Zarbon had them taken to the holds below the engine. No one ever lives for more than a week down there." She softly spoke her lips were cracked and bleeding as she spoke.

"Why are you here, why are so many Sayiens here?"

"It was Lord Freesia's command. All Sayiens with a fairly high power reading were enslaved and brought here to die."

"Why? That makes no sense, I thought Freesia was afraid of nothing."

The girl stood and walked towards Marei. She slightly limped and Marei began to wonder how many more injuries she had to face.

"He is afraid of one thing. That thing is death. Lord Freesia fears his death more than any thing else because of the legend. The legend states that a golden Sayien will defeat the Cold monster and its empire and nothing of its horror shall remand except for memories. This is why Freesia has had all Sayiens of high power levels contained, so that the legend shall never come true."

Marei stood in awe and was slightly confused, a golden Sayien? She knew that this story was what Zarbon was discussing with Freesia. How many Sayiens had he destroyed over the years? How many deaths had he caused? This is what Karroto and Vegeta had left to discover. They left to either find this golden warrior or to become him.

"Amber, find a way to release all of these Sayiens. We need all the help we can get. First we will heal them, then we shall find our mates."

Amber slowly nodded and the warriors who were able to walk, stood and watch the two of them work to set them free. The bars of the prisons blinked then finally faded releasing the Sayiens. Amber immediately began to heal the wounded, starting with those who would be able to fight for their cause. Marei worked with the cameras of the jail so that the same image of the Sayiens, before Marei and Amber entered the dark place, would replay. The group they had accumulated consisted of twenty individuals able to fight, five were not able for combat. Marei and amber entered first in the vents and made their way deeper with in the ship, to they place where their mates could be found. The newly formed group was to remain in the jail and wait until they had returned. The entered the room and the heat of the room was similar to a furnace. The sounds of the engine roared through the room. No cameras were attached to the walls and the metal was scorching to the touch. The figures of Piccolo and Nail were slumped against the wall, drenched in sweat and blood.

"Piccolo! Nail!" the two, said in unison.

The slow and unsteady movements of the males could only be heard. The light radiating off the bars was not enough to light the entire space of their imprisonment. As Piccolo's face came to view, Marei gently touched his cheek, almost to see if he was real. Tears formed in her eyes, but e whispered for her not to cry. Amber and Nail kissed through the bars as best they could, both letting their tears flow freely down their faces. Marei pulled her friend away and the two began to find the solution to dismantle the ki bars. They quickly found that those ki bars were not supplied from a machine energy force but that of those who were trapped inside. The ki supplier would either have no have completely no ki or the two girls must power up and create a higher ki than that which their mates' gave off. The two did such that, and in the weaken condition of them, powering to a higher level was not hard but it would draw the attention to them that they were trying to avoid. The bars began to bend and finally they snapped and the soft green glow off them faded. Amber and Marei quickly cut the flow of power from them and hid their ki once more.

"Amber, your flash light. I can't see infront of my nose." Marei said.

When she got no response she snapped out towards her friend, "The light!"

"Certainly." A smooth voice answered.
