Fighting for blind justice
Bulma glanced up at the clock on the wall behind ChiChi and sighed shifting her gaze to the door and then window. She was worried about Rai-en, she had been gone for a little while and yet she had no clue as to what was actually going on, just that she was worried about something and just rushed off to who knows where. Not only did she not know her way around town, she wasn't familar with the way things worked around here. She sipped quietly on her steaming coffee while ChiChi went on about Goku not being home yet. She knew the feeling, it felt like it had been all day since she's seen or heard from either him or Vegeta and even though she knew he was fine, she was worried.
Her blue stare was mirrored by that of her son, gazing in her direction. His similar cerulean blue eyes showed her that he was thinking the same thing as her, or at least close enough. He looked back to his friends, and sister before getting up and walking over to his mother. "Hey mom...I think i'm gonna head home now, I've got a few things to do." His eyes still showed that look of concern of his father's wherabouts and Rai's sudden dissapearence.
Bulma smiled at him, having a feeling he was not really going home, but to find everyone else and possibly get them to come home. "Okay Trunks, that's fine. I should be going too, it is getting late." She looked back to ChiChi. "It was nice to visit again ChiChi...and don't worry abotu Goku...he's probably just lost track of time...he and Vegeta get pretty wrapped up in their spars they arent' aware of how long they've been gone."
The other woman, sighed and then a smile found its way to her face. "I know Bulma...you're right, its hard to pull them away from their fighting. I just hope he doesn't stay too late...dinner should be ready soon."
Bulma stood from her seat and motioned to her daughter. "Bra, come on. We're leaving now."
The young blue-haired girl, stood up and said goodbye to her friends and followed her mother and son out the door. Bulma and Bra both piled into the car, but Trunks didn't follow. Instead he took to the air and flew off into the distance. Bra didn't bother to question his destination figuring he had some reason, so the two proceeded home.
For a while it seemed that the young saiyan Rai-en had put up a good fight against the cunning warrior who opposed her, and she refused to back down for her father's sake at least. She didn't even think about the possibilites and cosequences, she just jumped right in blindly not really knowing why she was fighting...besides the fact this woman had just killed her father right before her eyes and she had bascially gone into a blind rage and let her emotions take over not putting much thought into her actions. Justice for her father, and for some reason she felt drawn to this woman like she had more to be guilty of than just simply taking the life of one saiyan that everyone wanted dead all the same.
What was she really fighting for, she hadn't been that close to her father had she? I mean it had only been her and him for her whole life, she had never known her mother and had no siblings so he was all she had to turn to. Blind justice would correctly describe her goal, or at least thats what Vegeta and Goku had called it, she had heard their conversation while she was lost in the fight and heard them say how she was corageous all right, but reckless. She had jumped into a fight that had nothing to do with her in the least and frankly wasn't meant to be finished in the first place.
Vegeta shook his head and silently cursed the girl for being just like her father; quick to play the hero. He expected something like this from himself rather than her, from the way she presented herself at first. Yet he couldn't judge her, only watch and wait for the results. Goku was watching with a great curiousity, more of where her power came from because it certainly wasn't all inherited from Veruco, that was for sure.
The teened saiyan stood her ground, she was growing tired now. This battle was wearing her down for some reason, she hadn't been fighting very long, or at least it seemed that way. She gazed at her opponent who looked perfectly fine, she was still having a bit of trouble keeping up the offensive attacks rather than gaurding those that she recieved, but she wasn't worn out or tiring in the least. She looked like she could keep this up for hours, and yet as much as she seemed she couldn't compete with the girl, she was an even match. Well what did it matter now she was already mixed up in something that wasnt even her problem to start, so why not just get over it and finish what was started.
She stepped back now, locked in a dangerous stare down with the red haired vixen again. Meeting the cold onyx black gaze with hers of a flickering jade green. She felt a slight trickle of what tasted like blood slip down the corner of her mouth and she turned her head to spit it out then looked back to where her opponent stood, or rather was standing. She had moved, yet Rai could sense her energy still, she was trying to sneek up on her was she? Well she'd have to try harder to fool her. The girl spun around swiftly just as the opposing female came into view and ducked down, tripping her with a quick leg sweep.
The other fighter got right back up, but now with an unusual smirk on her face . Rai-en scowled back getting the feeling she had been toying with her the whole time. "You're enjoying this? Heh...enjoy it while it lasts then..." She spaced herself from her opponent, now gathering up her ki energy bringing it to the surface. She drew her right arm back, shifting her body with it looking almost like Goku preparing his Kamehameha, and formed a small reddish-orange ball of energy in the palm of her hand. She widened her palm more and the orb of energy grew in size, she repeated this until the ball was in size comparison to a softball. Then with a grin she hurled the orb of ki at the patiently waiting fighter before her. Upon impact the ball split into a rather large, flaming ring, encircling her opponent tightly. Rai-en clenched her fist, making the ring of fire tighten its hold, and then looked to her opponent. What she saw made her do a double take, she was grinning from ear to ear and perfectly calm as though nothing was wrong with the situation. She wasn't sure of what to make of her, anyone else by now would be practically screaming to be set free, but she was perferctly calm, like it wasnt bothering her.
What happened next was enough to confirm the fact that she had been toying with Rai-en the whole time, displaying her true potential. The other fighter took in a deep breath, while drawing her true power from within, then with ease she squirmed and expanded her arms and chest snapping the ring that was encircling her. It immediately faded, and she was free standing there with a smirk. Rai was in a state of shock at that moment, frozen in place not making a sound or the slightest movement she was officially terrified. It was hard for her to admit it but she was terrified now, knowing that she was well outclassed and could possibly lose this fight...and maybe lose her life as well. She still ceased to move as the redhead strolled up to her dangerously now, with a devious, almost muderous glint in her onyx eyes.
Goku watched in eager curiousity, waiting for her to make amove. "What is she doing? Why's she just standing there?" He snuck a glance at Vegeta who didn't seem to be concerned in the least, but then again he was pretty good at hiding what he was really feeling; that is until he said something. He spoke more to himself than anyone, not wanting to be caught actually feeling guilty. "Damn kid is going to get herself killed just like her baka father..." He lost himself in his thoughts momentarily as he remembered what his brother had said to him while they were getting caught up earlier that day at Capsule Corp.
**(mini-flash back)** There had been a deathly silence between the brothers after simply exchanging a few insults and Veruco had chosen that moment to speak up aagin. His expression was almost depressing, and dark, as was his tone. "...I lied..." He stated simply, causing Vegeta to question him.
"What? Baka...make sense will you. Lied about what...to whom?" He normally wouldn't care what he had to say but the way he said it was odd. He got the feeling he was being serious now.
The younger saiyan faced his elder and still remained stone faced. "I lied. To you...and her I lied. I didn't come here to find you for the sole purpose if my not being able to handle those freaks back home...hell, your onna could take them theyre so helpless."
Vegeta growled softly, "Get to the point already...then what did you come here for if you could handle those morons?"
Veruco made no effort to retort back as harshly, keeping his sullen tone. "I saw the way you look at her...your children. I can see how much they mean to you and I can tell your a good father, better than I could ever be. I know i'm rambling so i'll make this easier. I'm not here to hide, or to seek your help...at least not like that. I overheard a few men speaking of you...I assumed you were alive so as you know I sought you out and here I am. To be honest...I came in the hope that you would be able to take gaurdianship of Rai-en. Im in no position to be a father...not anymore. There's more to this than it sounds...and she does not know.
I lied to her about so many things, but it was to protect her. If she were to know what really went on... She had a brother...older, and a mother at one point in time. You remember Turek's young daughter...Samara, am I right? When the boy was eight and Rai merely two years, she left me. I still to this day do not know why, but the boy was eager to find out why so he followed her, or tried and was lost, I never saw him after that but I know he's alive.
She was only two years old she wouldn't understand what was happening, and even if she did she was too young to remeber so I promised myself never to tell her...I kept it from her and I lied. I tried my best to raise her over the years but it was never the same...she kept to herself mainly when she wasn't going through her schooling and training with the other high ranked youths. In fact I wouldn't really say that I raised her, she basically grew up without me and then I realized that I wasn't much of a father to her and I couldn't do it anymore. That's why Im asking you...I trust her in your care rather than my own. Take care of her for me...I owe this to her." He finished up, and not even waiting for an answer he turned away to face out the window once more.to the present)**
&n bsp; Vegeta growled again to himself, but more out of annoyance for knowing what he had to do, now he had no choice but to take the girl in...after the moron went and got himself killed. The only problem was if she didn't snap out of it and defend herself, that would turn out to be the least of his problems.
Rai-en, as though she knew precisely what he was thinking, did just that stepping back a few feet as her opponent stood dangerously close. She looked back at her elders, Goku and Vegeta as though they were supposed to give her an answer of what to do next. She shook her head, she jumped into the fight attempting to finish it so she couldn't back down...could she?
He question was answered immediately by a fierce strike from the back, knocking her to the ground. She lay back against the dirt for a moment and silently cursed herself for letting her gaurd down. Fortunately she was swift enough to catch herself from doing it again just as the opposing fighter again came at her with a fullforce attack but she rolled away and sprang to her feet just in time. The other female smirked seeing she was up again, and the fact she was running low on energy. She could tell by the increasing drop in her speed, and her reaction time. She wasn't able to put much force behind her attacks, and this caught not only her attention but Goku's as well.
He, being the hero he was, made up his mind to help her out. "She's not holding out...she already used up a lot of energy just when she needs it the most." He was about to rush out on the battle field when his saiyan counterpart objected. "No. We can't interfere now or else that defeats the sole purpose of what she thinks shes fighting for. I know what it's like to have a victory for doing something like this taken away from you and I won't let you do it to her too." He gave Goku a meaningful stare, those orbs of onyx darkness piercing through him.
Goku withdrew, knowing what he was referring to. He just wanted to help her out, he wasn't sure if she'd be able to keep it up despite her determination. "Alright...but if it looks bad i'm jumping regardless of what you say Vegeta." He was pleased to recieve a nod from him.
>_< this chapter was wierd...im being lazy maybe..but i had to put in that crucial moment where you discover the truth behind Veruco's sudden appearence on earth...im dragging the fight out for dramatic purposes *piano music in background* >_< im not to good at fight scenes...*sigh* well R&R plz i did my best and yes these last few chapters are longer than the rest but i got carried away ^_^*
