Chapter 6: Broken
Ryo woke the next morning, content to be in Berkeley's arms. He glanced at the clock and realized that there was a good half an hour before he had to get up. Cuddling closer to Berkeley, he let the memories of the previous love-making session wash over him. He loved it when Berkeley was on top, looking down at him with his eyes full of passion. Berkeley was a seme, that's for sure.
Ryo frowned, it wasn't that he minded being dominated, after all he was shy, especially when it came to sex, but sometimes he wished he could be like Berkeley. Confident, in charge, and in control. He wondered if…no that would be stupid. He doubted that Berkeley would let him be the one on top; he was just too much of a man.
Ryo lightly traced his hand over Berkeley's chest, allowing himself to feel the strength that his lover possessed. He started in surprise when Berkeley pushed his hand away and murmured, “Not now Diana. No more.”
Ryo's eyes showed his sadness while his body showed his anger. Ryo slapped Berkeley on the chest and yelled “What do you mean, not now Diana?!” Ryo said in anger, “are you having sexual fantasies about this woman?” He added, noticing Berkeley's arousal beneath the sheets.
Berkeley quickly awoke from his slumber just in time to hear Ryo's accusations. “What the hell are you talking about? And how dare you hit me?” He swung back at Ryo with his fist, catching Ryo in the jaw and sending him to the floor.
Ryo curled up on the floor, his hand cupping his jaw where Berkeley had hit him. “How dare I hit you? You were dreaming of a woman! Sexually!” He shouted back, determined to stand up for himself.
Berkeley got out of bed and walked over to Ryo. Noticing Ryo's flinch of fear, Berkeley crouched beside him and held his arms out. “I'm sorry for hitting you Ryo, but I swear I wasn't dreaming of a woman and definitely not sexually. You know I love you, right?”
Ryo collapsed into Berkeley's arms, grasping his shoulders. “I'm sorry koi, I don't know what I was thinking. I can't believe I hit you. I'm so s-sorry,” Ryo managed to choke out before sobbing into Berkeley's chest.
“Its okay, Ryo. I forgive you.” Berkeley said trying to calm Ryo down. “How about we get some ice for that jaw anyway?” Seeing Ryo's nod, Berkeley helped Ryo up and into the kitchen.

Dee glanced at his watch again, wondering what was taking Randy so long to get to work. Ryo was already 20 minutes later than himself, which was saying something. He looked over at JJ., who was already buried in a pile of paperwork.
Just as Dee was going to go over and help JJ., no matter how much he detested paperwork, Ryo came through their office door.
“Dee, JJ. I'm sorry I'm late.” Ryo quickly said, turning around hanging up his jacket.
When he turned around, Dee almost gasped out loud. Ryo's left side of his jaw was swollen and bruised. “Randy, are you okay? What happened?” Dee asked, walking over to Randy and gently titling his chin to examine the damage.
“I…uh…fell in the bathroom this morning and hit the edge of the tub,” Ryo made up on the spur of the moment. There was no way that he was telling Dee that Berkeley did it. Dee would think that it was Berkeley's fault, which it wasn't. He just hoped that Dee would believe him.
“A little clumsy, hey?” Dee replied with a grin. He didn't believe Randy at all. He glanced worriedly at JJ., who seemed to agree with him.
Ryo didn't see the lovers' glances and just sat down at his desk. “So what are we…” his sentence was cut off by the ringing of his phone. “One second,” He said to Dee and JJ. and picked up the phone. “Hello, Detective MacLean speaking. How may I help you?” Ryo said into the phone politely.
“Depends. Are you capable of helping me? Or are you too sore from last night?” Takashi replied.
Ryo paled, his hands beginning to shake. “Who is this?”
“Ryo, don't be stupid. You know who this is…and what I want.” Takashi replied. “I want you to be my whore again.”
“I was never that and I never will be.” Ryo replied angrily and slammed down the phone in rage. Ryo placed his head in his hands. How was Takashi watching him this closely? If Takashi could watch him and he couldn't even know that he was, what would happen when Takashi decides watching isn't enough?
“Randy, who was that?” JJ. asked curiously.
“Just an old friend,” Ryo replied. He didn't want Dee and JJ. to worry…or discover his personal history with Takashi. “So as I was saying, what's on the menu for today?”
“Well it's probably not a good idea for you to be back in the field today, Randy, not after coming back from your injury. So do you mind finishing some of yesterday's paperwork?” JJ. asked.
Ryo nodded. “Sure, no problem.” He didn't really like paperwork but he felt safer in the office than he would outside right now.
“Great, we'll be back in an hour then.” With that, JJ. and Dee left the office, leaving Ryo to his thoughts and a mountain of paperwork.

As soon as Dee and JJ. were out of the office, JJ. turned to Dee and asked, “Do you think he was telling the truth? That he hurt himself by falling and that the phone call was from an old friend?”
“Not for one second,” Dee replied firmly.
“Do you think it was…Berkeley?” JJ. asked softly.
“Well we have nothing to base that on but I agree with you. I think it was Berkeley.” Dee shook his head. No one should have to live with that. “As for the phone call, however…” Dee walked over to the front desk. “Excuse me, was the location of the last call to our office traced?”
“One moment please.” The officer replied. After entering something into her computer, she looked back up at Dee. “The call was made through a public payphone on 12th and Centre.”
`Thank you,” Dee replied and dragged JJ. out of the precinct.
“Dee…what?” JJ. asked once he shook himself out of Dee's grasp.
“We're going to check out that payphone.” Dee replied.
“But, Dee…isn't that Randy's business? I don't think it's our place to do this.” JJ. said.
“You can come or I'll go alone.” Dee snapped, walking off in the direction of the precinct's parking lot.
“Fine. I'll stay here and actually do my job.” JJ. snapped back and re-entered the precinct. Dee was thinking with his emotions and not his brain. What an idiot! JJ. thought to himself as he moved towards his office. What an idiot!

Ryo glanced over at JJ. He had returned to the office only moments after he and Dee left…and he seemed to be quite angry. When Ryo asked him if he was okay, JJ. had just replied that he didn't want to talk about it. So the two had been working in silence for the past two hours.
The silence rested heavily on Ryo. Thoughts of Takashi's phone call kept running through his head. How did he know what happened last night? Were there bugs in his and Berkeley's apartment? Was Berkeley safe?
All of a sudden, the ringing of the phone interrupted the silence. It was Ryo's. Ryo looked at it, a little apprehensive. He slowly reached out for the phone and picked it up. “Hello, Detective MacLean speaking. How may I help you?” Ryo said into the phone nervously.
JJ. looked up at the sound of Randy's voice. Shit, he sounded scared, JJ. thought to himself.
“Hey Ryo,” Berkeley said, “Are you okay babe?”
“Yeah, I'm fine koibito,” Ryo smiled, happy that it was Berkeley on the other end.
JJ. returned back to his work after hearing the change in Ryo's voice. He shook his head, wondering why he even cared.
“Look Ryo, I know you wanted to go out together tonight but something came up at work,” Berkeley said.
“That's okay koibito, I understand.” Ryo said, trying to hide his disappointment.
“I promise I'll make it up to you, okay?” Berkeley said, not noticing Ryo's apparent disappointment.
“Okay, so what time will you be home then?” Ryo asked, hoping it wouldn't be too late. He didn't want to be home alone for long, not with Takashi keeping tabs on him.
“I'm sorry Ryo, it most likely will be an all night thing,” Berkeley replied, at least he hoped it would be an all night thing.
“Oh, okay. Good luck then, love you,” Ryo said quietly.
“Love you too Ryo.” With that Berkeley hung up.
Ryo slowly placed the phone back down, not wanting to be separate from his lover. He returned back to his work, wondering what to do. He did not want to be home alone. Maybe…Dee and JJ. would let him stay over at their house? He didn't want to intrude but at the same time it would probably be the best option. Ryo looked over at JJ., wondering if he should ask his question now. He kind of wanted to ask Dee, but it was JJ.'s house as well.
“JJ.?” Ryo asked, interrupting the silence that filled the room.
JJ. tore his glaze from his computer, “Yeah?”
“This is going to sound weird but Berkeley's got something going on at work tonight and with Takashi still on the loose, I was wondering if I could stay at your and Dee's house tonight?” Ryo asked quickly, embarrassed.
JJ. frowned. For some reason, this request perturbed him, especially since the fight this morning had to do with Randy. He searched his mind frantically for a reason why Randy couldn't come over. “Well, me and Dee were going to go out tonight,” he said reluctantly, planning to leave it like that but the look of fear on Randy's face made him change his mind, “but you can come along if you'd like…we're going to the Tight End (1).”
“The Tight End?” Ryo questioned, not knowing what it was. He assumed something gay themed because of the name but besides that he had no idea.
“A club,” JJ. clarified, “a gay bar.”
“Oh,” Ryo said. He didn't particularly like going to clubs, especially without Berkeley. But if that's what it took to not be alone that night, then he'd go. “Sure, I'll come along, thanks.”
JJ. nodded, turning back to his work. Now all he had to do was to `remind' Dee about clubbing before Randy did.

Dee walked slowly back to the precinct, his hands in his pockets. The payphone that Randy was called from had been deserted by the time Dee had got there. He was certain that Randy lied to them. When he said the phone call was from a friend, he seemed too scared for it to be true. Dee just wished he knew why Randy lied. And then his fight with JJ. It seemed that ever since Randy came, JJ. started acting funny.
Maybe he's jealous but I don't know why. It's not like I'm attracted to Randy at all. I'll try and make it up to JJ. tonight, maybe we can go out somewhere. Dee reasoned in his head.
Looking up, Dee realized he was already at the precinct. Entering the building, he took a deep breath before heading towards his office, trying to prepare himself, but as usual, Dee barely had time to see JJ. before he ran into him.
“Dee!” JJ. said, glad he got to Dee before Randy did. “Can we go to the Tight End tonight? Please?”
“Um, sure,” Dee replied, anxious to make JJ. happy. The Tight End was an interesting club and one of JJ.'s favourites
“Okay!” JJ. shouted, giving Dee a kiss. “Oh, and by the way, Randy's coming too.” With that JJ. turned and went back into the office. Dee shook his head, that was the man he loved.

By five o'clock, all three men were anxious to get out of the office. Ryo and JJ. had practically spent all day working on paperwork while Dee sat and complained. Ryo had been fretting the entire day worried about the club and worried about fighting off advances.
“Hey Dee, can you give me a ride home before we go clubbing?” Ryo asked. He needed to change and grab some stuff for the morning.
“Sure, hey JJ. I'll pick you up at home, okay?” Dee said to JJ., nodding yes to Ryo's request as he stood up to leave. Randy and him walked out to the car.
“Is Berkeley coming with us?” Dee asked, climbing into the driver's seat.
Ryo shook his head, throwing his stuff into the backseat. “He has to work late tonight. That's why I'm staying over.”
Dee started up the car and pulled out of the parking lot wondering why JJ. hadn't told him about Ryo staying over.
“Um…Dee?” Ryo said, breaking into Dee's train of thought. “Did JJ. not tell you that I was staying the night?”
“No, he didn't,” Dee said, sharply, more harshly then he meant to.
“I don't have to spend the night if you'd rather me not too.” Ryo said, the hurt evident in his voice. He looked down at his hands, noticing them shaking out of fear of the thought of being alone. Folding his arms, he waited for Dee's response, hoping for the affirmative.
“No Randy, I don't mind at all. I'd love for you to come over and hang out….its just that JJ. didn't tell me, that's all.” Dee replied, trying to reassure Ryo, noticing the disappointment in his voice.
“Okay, thanks.” Ryo replied, extremely relieved. Now he wouldn't have to spend the night alone, but in the company of friends. Thank goodness.

JJ. rummaged through his closet, looking for an outfit that would put any thoughts of Randy out of Dee's head. Finding his favourite pair of low rise leather pants, the perfect outfit came to his mind.

Pulling up to Ryo's apartment, Dee entered in the parking lot and kept the car running, planning on not going inside. Unlocking the doors so that Ryo could get out, Dee shifted the car into park, letting his foot slowly off the brake as to not jerk the car.
Ryo was out of the car as soon as Dee had changed gears. Noticing that Dee wasn't moving, Ryo poked his head back inside the car and asked “Do you mind coming up with me? I have no idea what to wear for the club.”
“Uhh…sure.” Dee said, turning off the car and climbing out of his seat. He followed Ryo to the tall apartment building. Upon entering, Ryo headed towards the stairs, not wanting to waste time waiting for the elevator. After climbing a few sets of stairs, Ryo stopped in front of a door. Pulling out his keys, he let himself in and motioned for Dee to sit down while he went to go change.
Dee couldn't help but gape at Ryo's apartment. It was huge. And clean, not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere. Nothing like his or JJ.'s apartment.
Ryo walked back into the living room. “Do I look okay?” He asked Dee, not noticing Dee's admiring glances. Ryo was wearing very tight, low rise faded denim jeans and a form fitting white dress shirt. The top few buttons of the shirt were open, allowing a clear view of his collarbone. Dee knew that Ryo was good-looking; he knew that from the first day he met him, but these clothes made Ryo beyond hot.
Taking a couple of seconds to absorb the hot blond before him, Dee finally found his voice. “You look great,” he said, the honesty being heard in his voice.
“Thanks,” Ryo said blushing. “I just have to grab my overnight stuff and we can go. Disappearing back into the bedroom, Ryo grabbed the things he needed and threw them into a duffel bag. Re-emerging from the bedroom, Ryo went to grab his coat. As he and Dee were about to leave, Ryo remembered something important. Grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, he scribbled down a note for Berkeley, telling him where he was and how he could be reached.
“Okay, I'm ready,” Ryo said, satisfied that he didn't forget anything. “Let's go get JJ.”
xxxxx
JJ. admired himself in the mirror. The leather pants that he was wearing hugged his figure wonderfully, leaving nothing to the imagination. The pants were laced up the sides with metal chains, revealing that JJ. was not wearing any undergarments. His top was made of fishnet material and around his neck was a dog collar that was attached to a leash around his waist (2).
He heard a knock on the door, bringing him out of his self-admiration. Smirking, JJ. walked over and opened the door, striking a pose.
There were a few moments of silence as Dee and Ryo took in JJ. and his outfit. “JJ…” Ryo started to say but couldn't finish his train of thought. “He looks hot,” Ryo said to himself. “Wow!” he finally got out.
“JJ. you look so sexy!” Dee exclaimed, embracing JJ. and giving him a deep kiss.
JJ. grinned. Exactly the reaction he wanted, however he had to admit, he was not expecting compliments from Randy. “Thank you, Dee. Now you have to come get dressed.” He ordered, pointing to their bedroom.
Dee nodded. Inviting Ryo inside, Dee went to change.
Ryo glanced around Dee and JJ.'s apartment with interest. It was much smaller than his and Berkeley's but it felt so much warmer. The furniture was for the most part mismatched, but appeared to be comfortable. The living room attached directly to the kitchen and then there appeared to be three rooms branching off the hall. Ryo knew one to be their bedroom, as that's where Dee disappeared into to get dressed.
Realizing he had been gawking, Ryo quickly took off his shoes and stepped into the living room. Sitting down on a futon that was placed along the wall underneath a large, arch-shaped window, Ryo crossed his legs and got comfortable.
JJ. glanced over at Randy sitting on the futon, his attention instantly drawn to Randy's injury. Was he really a clumsy person or was someone hurting him? Either way he couldn't go to the club looking like that. Walking across the room, JJ. placed his hand gently on Randy's bruise. “Does it hurt?” JJ. asked.
“No, not really,” Ryo said, wondering what JJ. was up to.
“Would you like to put on some stuff to cover it up before going to the club?” JJ. asked, thinking of the embarrassment that Randy might go through if he went to the club looking like he did now.
“Uh…sure. Thanks JJ.” Ryo said gratefully, letting JJ. lead him into their washroom.
“It's no problem,” JJ. replied simply, gently placing cover-up onto Randy's bruise. “There you go, all hidden.”
As JJ. was putting away the make-up, Ryo had a chance to glance around their bathroom. The majority of the walls were covered in portraits portraying men in various acts of sex. Any space left uncovered was painted a dark red shade, hinting at a sense of passion. Suddenly, Ryo felt that he was invading something sacred.
“So..ah..I guess you don't let your parents use this bathroom, huh?” Ryo said, trying to break out of the odd feelings he was experiencing.
“No.” JJ. said shortly and left the bathroom. Ryo followed hesitantly, sensing he had said something wrong.
Luckily, Dee saved Ryo from saying anything else. Waltzing out of their bedroom, Dee showed off his attire for the evening. Dee was wearing tight black leather pants and a black muscle shirt. Around his wrists were black straps, studded with spikes. Chains hung from his pants, making interesting noises as he swirled around, showing off his outfit.
“Hot as usual, love.” JJ. said with a grain, latching onto his boyfriend's waist. Ryo could only nod in agreement.
“So, what are we waiting for?” Dee asked. “Let's go have some fun.”
With that comment, the three men set off to the Tight End.

Sorry for getting this out so late! I promise chapter 7 won't be long in coming, as it is already completed...on paper anyways, lol. For some reason this story suddenly got booted off of fanfic for having too much `explicit content' even though it's been there for like at least a year, thus I am no longer posting on that site.
