out at the highway, josh had drove for half an hour towards the outskirts of the city, until he reached exactly where he wanted to go; the graveyard where HE was buried. he pulled the dodge into the cemetary's car park and saw a black mini-van. josh hesitated at first, before he saw b-box step out from the van. josh turned the ignition off and stepped out of the car. josh and b-box hugged for a minute before they let go of each other "you really want to do this?" josh nodded and said "yeah, i need to see him" B nodded and turned, saying simply "alright, lets go" josh re-adjusted his glasses as one of the guys gave him a bouqet of flowers. they walked solemly and quietly towards a grave with the headstone shaped like a cross.

josh bent down onto one knee and laid the flowers next to the tombstone which simply read "Michael Andrew Duddy, 1989 - 2007. Brother. Friend. Soulbound. My Nigga"
Only darkness every day
he looked to the tombstone and said "Michael, i know i've been saying this for two years but please forgive me. if i hadnt've brought you there that night. if i hadn't been holding that gun, you'd still be alive today"

he turned to the guys and said "guys, give us a minute will you?" B-box nodded and said "Sure bro, you got it. we'll be at the van if you need us" josh nodded and said "thanks mate" as they left.
when he turned and saw Urd, she looked remarkably sober and cleaner than before. She had a look on her face which read that there was an apology coming. He looked at her and she said "keiichi called and said you'd be here. who is this?" "this was one of my very few friends, 'till some idiot put a bullet in him. what do you want? do you want to abuse me some more? is that it urd?!! well go ahead, i don't fucking care anymore!!" he spat, barely containing his white-hot seething rage and urge to kill her.
he saw her start to cry, so he looked down and was shocked to see he had his fist clenched like he was ready to punch her, so he thought <oh my god, what the hell have i become? you idiot josh, you shouldn't let this get under your skin like HE did> and in that instance, all his rage was gone as tears ran down her tanned cheeks and onto the ground “Josh, PLEASE!! forgive me, I’m really sorry if I offended you last night. i was drunk, so i wasn't in control of what i said. I really didn't mean to upset you last night, and i would like to get to know your world better, so that I can begin to understand what you're like, the life you live” he sighed, saying "alright" and he went to the van. He went up to b-box and said “dog, i'll meet you lot later, okay?” b-box turned and said “sure man” as he handed him the keys "you take care o' yourself, aight nigga?" josh nodded as he turned and walked away.
He came down the pathway and said “c’mon” as he climbed into his dodge. Urd opened the door and climbed in to the passengers side as he started the car. “Where are we going?” she asked, noticing the grim expression on Joshua’s face. He paid no attention as he drove into Makuhari, taking the back roads, until Urd realized where they were. They were in the ghetto. She noticed he stopped the car, and he was getting his seatbelt off. He opened the door and stepped out of the car. She watched him go over to an elderly shop keeper and help him put his stock inside the shop. She smiled at this act of kindness as he returned. “What’s that all about?” as he got into the car and started it he said “in the ghetto, we look out for our own” as they drove away.
He pulled up to an old abandoned house and got out. As he got closer to the house, Urd stopped and asked him “what are we doing here?” “This is where I look after my sister jessica, Yo Jess, you in there?” the door opened and a young girl exited the house. She saw Josh and started running towards him, but not before something made josh yell “down!!!” as he and Urd leapt out of the way, a spray of automatic gunfire erupted over head.

B-box turned to josh and said “got to be the east coaster ballas, they’ve had it in for you since day one” he turned to the others and said “boys, gear up. We’re going to war” the guys ran out and headed back to their vehicles.

Keiichi went over to Josh who was drinking another glass and said “you can stay with us if you want. You’re always welcome there” he said as he helped him up. an hour later, Josh was wasted as they carried him into a futon at the temple. Belldandy put a bucket next to his bed, just in case.

He woke up twice that night to throw up. Urd was crashed out under him, as she had been sitting on her knees and had his head in her lap, comforting him and stroking a strand of dark brown hair from his eyes as he slept. Keiichi suppressed a smile as he saw the scene.
The next morning, Josh woke up to a massive headache. He groped around, hopeful for some painkillers, until he felt something soft and spongy. when his eyes regained focus, he saw that he had hold of Urd’s breast. He started blushing as he let go, "aahh" he panicked, backing up against the wall, thinking <oh god, oh god, she's gonna kill me>. He stammered “h-h-how long have you been there, Urd?” she smiled and said “the whole night” as she planted a kiss on his lips. “What was that for?” “I felt like it” she said, smiling as she went off to her room. "what the hell?" he said as his expression changed. he felt a bit of stubble and decided to clean himself up, anything to get away from that scene. As he sat in the bath, a light began to emanate from the bath.
He watched on as a child appeared from the bath and looked at him “Keiichi?” she asked “nope, I don’t know where he is actually” “who are you, and what are you doing in their house” she said angrily as she grabbed a mallet she’d been carrying. “Easy there, what the hell do you think you’re doing with that hammer girly?” he said nervously as she raised her mallet. He managed to get out of the bath, put a towel on and reach the door before she smacked him on his head with the mallet. He flew through the door and landed in the hallway with a thud.
He backed up to the wall and heard a voice ask “what’s going on here?” he turned and saw Belldandy and the others, including Urd who was looking at him mischievously “thank god you guys are here, she started swinging at me for no reason” he said, pointing to the bathroom. They saw the young girl float out into the corridor. She turned and said “onne-sama” as she flew over to Belldandy. Josh and Keiichi did a double-take and said at the same time “what the hell is going on?” "one of you mind explaining?" "yes, let's go to the den and i'll explain, alright?"
In the lounge room, they were sitting on their own chairs. Josh was now dressed and staring in amazement. “………so Joshua is going to stay with us” Belldandy finished, with a tear falling down her cheek, as well as Skuld. Skuld approached Josh and rubbed her head sheepishly, saying “sorry Josh, I thought you were some kind of pervert” he smiled and replied “that’s alright Skuld; I probably would’ve done the same thing, had I been in your shoes” as he laughed “you’ve got quite a punch there missy” he said as he grabbed her and started tickling her “ahahahahaha” they laughed as he let go of her. "yeah, what's up belldandy?" belldandy looked to him and asked "josh, would you like to meet mine and nee-san's angels?" he looked to urd and then back to belldandy and said "sure, i've been curious as to what they look like" it was then that both urd and belldandy rose to their feet and within 5 seconds managed to summon their angels. urd's angel had hair that was black one side and white the other as well as one black wing and one white wing and it also wore a cloth sports bra which josh also noticed as it draped an arm over her shoulder while belldandy's angel which was sort of similar to urd's had golden honey coloured hard and pure white skin and wings, which he noticed as well as it just looked to josh with a curious look on it's face. josh was in slight awe at the sight, so belldandy spoke first "my angel's name is holy bell and she is my lifelong friend" belldandy turned to urd, who spoke next "mine is World of elegance and we kind of started off on the wrong foot but we're companions" urd nodded to belldandy, who turned to josh and said "you see josh, when an angel is born within a god or a goddess, it reflects the person it is born within"
"i see, if you are both goddess' how come urd's angel looks different to yours belldandy, shouldn't her's be similar to yours?" urd looked away and said "things were complicated then, i don't want to talk about it now" josh looked to the norn of the past and could've sworn he saw a single tear fall from her eye. world of elegance floated over to josh and he took her hand and kissed it, saying "it's a pleasure to meet you, world of elegance" he heard an echo in his head before a beautiful feminine voice said <and it is a pleasure to meet you too joshua payne> he looked to the angel and said <how are you talking to me?> <it is through telepathy> josh shook his head and stood up “now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go and shave” he said as he went back into the bathroom. He came back out about ten minutes later and headed out to the door when Belldandy said “if you are going to do what I think you are, be careful” “I will” he said as he walked through the doorway and down to the car. He got in and just as he was about to start the car, Urd appeared on the seat next to him. “What do you think you’re doing, Urd?” “I’m coming with you” she said firmly. He started the car and said “y’know Urd, so far, I don’t know wether to kiss you or kill you” as he pulled the car away from the temple. A few hours later they arrived at a warehouse in the industrial district, which was a front for a chop-shop which delivers the parts nightly to chihiro's motorcycle store and other shops around makuhari.
He pulled up to the gate and pressed a button on the console, which made the doors open. As they drove in, they heard the radio play “where the hood at?” by DMX. Josh drove the car in and parked it against the wall. They got out and josh walked towards the office while Urd watched the guys as they worked on the various cars. Josh approached the office as a tall afro-American man came out and said “well if ain’t you nigga” grumbling before they both broke into smiles and laughed as they hugged “dog, what brings you to my muthafuckin neck of the woods? come on in man” they entered the office and he said "shit man, sit and tell me what your badass self's been up to man"
josh lowered his head and said sadly “Tommy, jezza’s dead, those fuckin' east coaster niggaz got ‘er” “goddamned it!!!” shouted Tommy as he slammed his fist into the wal, before he calmed down, turned and looked to him when he asked “look dog, if you need someplace to crash we've got plenty of room, 'teisha would love to see you. she misses you lots” “No, it’s alright. I’m staying with her” he said, pointing to Urd who was flirting with the workers “damnnn nigga, you sure know how to pick ‘em. I heard you was at some kickass party at some temple a coupla nights ago, damn I wish I was there” he finished turning to Josh who just smirked and said “yeah, I know. Anything to get out of work” they laughed and Tommy said “dog, you need anything, just let me or 'teisha know alright man” “yeah, but I just wanna know one thing; who ordered it, so I can kill them”
“i'll do what i can, look out for yourself man” said Tommy as he hugged Josh, who in turn replied “yeah, you too” they let go and he headed out to the main room. As Josh was about to leave, he heard Tommy shout behind him “don’t say I don’t give you anything man!!” Josh turned and saw Tommy throw something to him. Josh caught it and saw what it was. It was a customised Ingram MAC-10 with compensator and an elongated magazine, capable of holding more rounds then the normal Mac 10. “Thanks dog!!” he called out, Tommy waved as they went back to the car. They got in and left. He stopped at a traffic intersection when he asked “how about something to eat, I feel hungry” he said as they left the intersection.
they pulled into a hungry jacks shop and got their food and sat down at one of the tables outside. as they ate, josh looked at her and was immediately transfixed by her whole person. this woman had caught his attention that night at the party and still did even now as they ate together <why should i be bothering? she probably already has a boyfriend. who the hell am i kidding, she wouldn't go out with a loser like me> it was immediately after this that josh put down his food and a bout of depression overtook him again "josh, what's wrong?" urd asked, noticing his change in mood "nothing, nothing at all urd" he said softly as he stood up and went over and put his food in the bin "josh?" she asked again as he put the tray away and headed inside and then out to the car. she used her magic to dissolve the rest of the food as she stood up and went into the bathroom, where she shrunk into her minature form and went outside into the carpark

As they approached the front door to the temple, Josh noticed it was a little too quiet, so he grabbed his gun and said “wait here” he had it ready as he slowly opened the door. As he did, two guys grabbed Urd “let her go!!!” he shouted as he trained the Mac 10 on them.

One of the goons produced a gun and put it against her temple “drop the gun or we’ll kill her”. He did so, but as he did, he dropped to the ground and grabbed the gun, firing on the two men, hitting them in the heads, killing them instantly.

He got up and they were suddenly under fire from five people who were approaching the temple in a four-wheel drive. They ran inside as the car pulled up to the front of the temple.

As they hid behind the door, Josh reloaded the mac-10 while one of the goons said “Joshua payne, come out and make this quick. Or we’ll kill your friend and come in there and kill you anyway” Josh slid open the door a fraction and saw one of the goons had Keiichi by the scruff of his neck and had a pistol against his temple. “Who is it?” asked Urd “its Keiichi” he said bluntly as he stood up. “What in fathers name are you doing?” she asked as he started to open the door. He turned, smiled and said “trust me” as he went outside.

He went up to b-box’s door and said “thanks man, I owe ya one” b-box shook his head and smiled, saying “nahh dog; we always got your back. nigga, you've got to take more care of yourself. what the fucK?” as he saw one of the goons try to crawl away from them. B-box was about to shoot him when Josh said “no, this cat's mine” as he went over to the goon.

He raised his sub and pressed it against the goon’s head “who hired you?!!!” he shouted the goon turned over and laughed, saying “like it matters, you dipshit” “WHO HIRED YOU TO KILL ME?” he shouted again, before he shot the man in the leg “oww, you mutherfucker” he said, clutching his leg in pain before he felt the empty abyss of the cold hard steel barrel being pressed against his head. “y-y-y-your father. the old man hired us” Josh’s eyes widened as he tried to fight back tears “no, why would he? why would he attempt to kill his own son?” he muttered, before he smacked the goon across the face, knocking him out cold. When he did, his world just shattered. He dropped to the ground and just kneeled, staring into nothing but a black bottomless abyss

Urd opened the door and climbed in to the passengers side as he started the car. “Where are we going?” she asked, noticing the grim expression on Joshua’s face. He paid no attention as he drove into Makuhari, taking the back roads, until Urd realized where they were. They were in the ghetto. She noticed he stopped the car, and he was getting his seatbelt off. He opened the door and stepped out of the car. She watched him go over to an elderly shop keeper and help him put his stock inside the shop. She smiled at this act of kindness as he returned. “What’s that all about?” as he got into the car and started it he said “in the ghetto, we look out for our own” as they drove away.
He pulled up to an old abandoned house and got out. As he got closer to the house, Urd stopped and asked him “what are we doing here?” “This is where I look after my sister jessica, Yo Jess, you in there?” the door opened and a young girl exited the house. He woke up twice that night to throw up. Urd was crashed out under him, as she had been sitting on her knees and had his head in her lap, comforting him and stroking a strand of dark brown hair from his eyes as he slept. Keiichi suppressed a smile as he saw the scene.
The next morning, Josh woke up to a massive headache. He groped around, hopeful for some painkillers, until he felt something soft and spongy. when his eyes regained focus, he saw that he had hold of Urd’s breast. He started blushing as he let go, "aahh" he panicked, backing up against the wall, thinking <oh god, oh god, she's gonna kill me>. He stammered “h-h-how long have you been there, Urd?” she smiled and said “the whole night” as she planted a kiss on his lips. “What was that for?” “I felt like it” she said, smiling as she went off to her room. "what the hell?" he said as his expression changed. he felt a bit of stubble and decided to clean himself up, anything to get away from that scene. As he sat in the bath, a light began to emanate from the bath.
He watched on as a child appeared from the bath and looked at him “Keiichi?” she asked “nope, I don’t know where he is actually” “who are you, and what are you doing in their house” she said angrily as she grabbed a mallet she’d been carrying. “Easy there, what the hell do you think you’re doing with that hammer girly?” he said nervously as she raised her mallet. He managed to get out of the bath, put a towel on and reach the door before she smacked him on his head with the mallet. He flew through the door and landed in the hallway with a thud.
He backed up to the wall and heard a voice ask “what’s going on here?” he turned and saw Belldandy and the others, including Urd who was looking at him mischievously “thank god you guys are here, she started swinging at me for no reason” he said, pointing to the bathroom. They saw the young girl float out into the corridor. She turned and said “onne-sama” as she flew over to Belldandy. Josh and Keiichi did a double-take and said at the same time “what the hell is going on?” "one of you mind explaining?" "yes, let's go to the den and i'll explain, alright?"
In the lounge room, they were sitting on their own chairs. Josh was now dressed and staring in amazement. “………so Joshua is going to stay with us” Belldandy finished, with a tear falling down her cheek, as well as Skuld. Skuld approached Josh and rubbed her head sheepishly, saying “sorry Josh, I thought you were some kind of pervert” he smiled and replied “that’s alright Skuld; I probably would’ve done the same thing, had I been in your shoes” as he laughed “you’ve got quite a punch there missy” he said as he grabbed her and started tickling her “ahahahahaha” they laughed as he let go of her. "josh-san?" "yeah, what's up belldandy?" belldandy looked to him and asked "josh, would you like to meet mine and nee-san's angels?" he looked to urd and then back to belldandy and said "sure, i've been curious as to what they look like" it was then that both urd and belldandy rose to their feet and within 5 seconds managed to summon their angels. urd's angel had hair that was black one side and white the other as well as one black wing and one white wing and it also wore a cloth sports bra which josh also noticed as it draped an arm over her shoulder while belldandy's angel which was sort of similar to urd's had golden honey coloured hard and pure white skin and wings, which he noticed as well as it just looked to josh with a curious look on it's face. josh was in slight awe at the sight, so belldandy spoke first "my angel's name is holy bell and she is my lifelong friend" belldandy turned to urd, who spoke next "mine is World of elegance and we kind of started off on the wrong foot but we're companions" urd nodded to belldandy, who turned to josh and said "you see josh, when an angel is born within a god or a goddess, it reflects the person it is born within"
"i see, if you are both goddess' how come urd's angel looks different to yours belldandy, shouldn't her's be similar to yours?" urd looked away and said "things were complicated then, i don't want to talk about it now" josh looked to the norn of the past and could've sworn he saw a single tear fall from her eye. world of elegance floated over to josh and he took her hand and kissed it, saying "it's a pleasure to meet you, world of elegance" he heard an echo in his head before a beautiful feminine voice said <and it is a pleasure to meet you too joshua payne> he looked to the angel and said <how are you talking to me?> <it is through telepathy> josh shook his head and stood up “now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go and shave” he said as he went back into the bathroom. He came back out about ten minutes later and headed out to the door when Belldandy said “if you are going to do what I think you are, be careful” “I will” he said as he walked through the doorway and down to the car. He got in and just as he was about to start the car, Urd appeared on the seat next to him. “What do you think you’re doing, Urd?” “I’m coming with you” she said firmly. He started the car and said “y’know Urd, so far, I don’t know wether to kiss you or kill you” as he pulled the car away from the temple. A few hours later they arrived at a warehouse in the industrial district, which was a front for a chop-shop which delivers the parts nightly to chihiro's motorcycle store and other shops around makuhari.
He pulled up to the gate and pressed a button on the console, which made the doors open. As they drove in, they heard the radio play “where the hood at?” by DMX. Josh drove the car in and parked it against the wall. They got out and josh walked towards the office while Urd watched the guys as they worked on the various cars. Josh approached the office as a tall afro-American man came out and said “well if ain’t you nigga” grumbling before they both broke into smiles and laughed as they hugged “dog, what brings you to my muthafuckin neck of the woods? come on in man” they entered the office and he said "shit man, sit and tell me what your badass self's been up to man"
josh lowered his head and said sadly “Tommy, jezza’s dead, those fuckin' east coaster niggaz got ‘er” “goddamned it!!!” shouted Tommy as he slammed his fist into the wal, before he calmed down, turned and looked to him when he asked “look dog, if you need someplace to crash we've got plenty of room, 'teisha would love to see you. she misses you lots” “No, it’s alright. I’m staying with her” he said, pointing to Urd who was flirting with the workers “damnnn nigga, you sure know how to pick ‘em. I heard you was at some kickass party at some temple a coupla nights ago, damn I wish I was there” he finished turning to Josh who just smirked and said “yeah, I know. Anything to get out of work” they laughed and Tommy said “dog, you need anything, just let me or 'teisha know alright man” “yeah, but I just wanna know one thing; who ordered it, so I can kill them”
“i'll do what i can, look out for yourself man” said Tommy as he hugged Josh, who in turn replied “yeah, you too” they let go and he headed out to the main room. As Josh was about to leave, he heard Tommy shout behind him “don’t say I don’t give you anything man!!” Josh turned and saw Tommy throw something to him. Josh caught it and saw what it was. It was a customised Ingram MAC-10 with compensator and an elongated magazine, capable of holding more rounds then the normal Mac 10. “Thanks dog!!” he called out, Tommy waved as they went back to the car. They got in and left. He stopped at a traffic intersection when he asked “how about something to eat, I feel hungry” he said as they left the intersection.
they pulled into a hungry jacks shop and got their food and sat down at one of the tables outside. as they ate, josh looked at her and was immediately transfixed by her whole person. this woman had caught his attention that night at the party and still did even now as they ate together <why should i be bothering? she probably already has a boyfriend. who the hell am i kidding, she wouldn't go out with a loser like me> it was immediately after this that josh put down his food and a bout of depression overtook him again "josh, what's wrong?" urd asked, noticing his change in mood "nothing, nothing at all urd" he said softly as he stood up and went over and put his food in the bin "josh?" she asked again as he put the tray away and headed inside and then out to the car. she used her magic to dissolve the rest of the food as she stood up and went into the bathroom, where she shrunk into her minature form and went outside into the carpark

As they approached the front door to the temple, Josh noticed it was a little too quiet, so he grabbed his gun and said “wait here” he had it ready as he slowly opened the door. As he did, two guys grabbed Urd “let her go!!!” he shouted as he trained the Mac 10 on them.

Or we’ll kill your friend and come in there and kill you anyway” Josh slid open the door a fraction and saw one of the goons had Keiichi by the scruff of his neck and had a pistol against his temple. “Who is it?” asked Urd “its Keiichi” he said bluntly as he stood up. “What in fathers name are you doing?” she asked as he started to open the door. He turned, smiled and said “trust me” as he went outside.

B-box was about to shoot him when Josh said “no, this cat's mine” as he went over to the goon.

He raised his sub and pressed it against the goon’s head “who hired you?!!!” he shouted the goon turned over and laughed, saying “like it matters, you dipshit” “WHO HIRED YOU TO KILL ME?” he shouted again, before he shot the man in the leg “oww, you mutherfucker” he said, clutching his leg in pain before he felt the empty abyss of the cold hard steel barrel being pressed against his head. “y-y-y-your father. the old man hired us” Josh’s eyes widened as he tried to fight back tears “no, why would he? why would he attempt to kill his own son?” he muttered, before he smacked the goon across the face, knocking him out cold. When he did, his world just shattered. He dropped to the ground and just kneeled, staring into nothing but a black bottomless abyss
