he stripped and wrapped a towel around his waist before he opened the door to the springs and went out into the water, feeling the clensing powers of the water of the hot springs as it washed over him. "ahh, thank the gods for that" he said as he reached the other side of the spring, leaning against the wall. he heard the door open, so a gun materialized in his hand as he pointed it at the door. a voice on the other side said "don't shoot" josh pulled the hammer back on the pistol and said "give me a reason not to" "let's see, because it's me, nigga?" josh put the gun away and said "B-box, that you man?" they chuckled and said "yeah nigga, it's me. i got word that you were in Hinata, so i decided to come and see you, what's up?" he opened the door and stepped out into the hot springs bath area as josh swam closer to the edge, wearing a morose expression, saying "let's just say my past is catching up with me" B-box nodded and said "i see, do you want me to call the boys in yet?" josh shook his head and said "nahh, not yet. anyways, you want to go and shoot some hoops, or do you want to get sumptin to eat?" he shook his head and said "maybe tommorrow. i just came to visit cause i heard you three were in town. maybe tonight we can get somethin" josh nodded and said "yeah, sure. i'll call you if this shit gets any higher, or if i get something, alright?" B-box nodded and said "alright nigga. it was good to see ya, later dog" he waived as he left the baths.

as he did, a presence above him alerted him, so he dived out of the way, just as the swordswoman landed onto the ground with her sword drawn "okay, WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON MOTOKO, WHY THE HELL'D YOU DO THAT FOR?" she said nothing, but stood and slashed out with her sword. josh just barely managed to dodge it, as it nicked him on the stomach. she thrusted the sword forward and josh put his hand out, making the sword crumple as it hit a barrier. as that happened, two big ash-black wings appeared out of his back, before he reversed the barrier and threw her back a few feet. a dark sword appeared in his hand as he flew towards her, with his sword pointed at her. he dissapeared right before they connected and re-appeared behind her saying softly "don't you ever pull a fucking sword on me again, or the consequences will be dire" before he hit her on the back of the head, rendering her unconscious. he picked up her unconscious form and carried her on his shoulder as a fresh set of clothes appeared on his body. he opened the door from the hot springs and walked down the hallway, until he came to the main room. he lowered her onto the couch and said "no one is to wake her, alright?" they nodded and went back to their business as he walked through the doorway and down the steps. he walked up to the dodge and searched through his pockets for the keys, which he found, so he started the car and drove away.

Break The Cycle: Part three

he cruised through the backstreets of hinata, past the various abandoned buildings and homes, until a voice next to him said "hey, what's up?" so he turned for a quick second to see Mikhail, she was sitting on the seat next to him. he turned back to the road and said "nothing much, just someone want's to kill me" Mikhail nodded and said thoughtfully "oh, the usual then?" he nodded and said comically with a sly grin "yep, seems like" when he heard a shop keeper yell "HEY, COME BACK WITH THAT STUFF YOU PUNK!!!" josh turned slightly and saw a hooded gangsta run past the various shops, so josh gunned it and roared after the crim, a pistol materialising in his hand. he found a gap and spun the car, driving it towards the wall. the car stopped, so josh turned and pointed the pistol at the crim, saying "'scuse me" they pointed their gun at him but before they could shoot, josh put a bullet in their hand, making them drop the gun and clutched ther hand in pain. josh stepped out of the car and said "try it again arsehole and the next one goes through your head" he went over and picked the stuff up off the ground as the shop keeper approached them. he turned and asked "so pal, why'd you steal these things?" they looked down to the ground and said "my family's hungry, we barely have enough money to pay the rent each month, so i have to steal in order to feed my kids" he smiled and said "alright, just give me a moment" he walked over to the shop keeper and said "listen, don't worry 'bout it none, i've discussed it with him and i will pay for the items, if that's alright?" they nodded and said "sure, alright" he reached into his pocket and pulled out a fifty dollar bill and said "here, keep the change" they smiled and said "thank you sir" he grinned and said "think nothing of it" as he walked away, back to the dodge. he climbed in, started the car and drove away.

he parked the Dodge back in front of the stairs and turned it off, before sighing as he sat back on the seat, running his hand through his hair and saying "ah hell, i'm really not up for this" as he opened the door and stepped out of the car, carrying two bags as he walked up the steps. he walked up to the door and set one of the bags down, before he opened the door. Urd came down the steps, reading a magazine as she spotted him "hey josh, what're you doing?" he turned towards the kitchen, saying simply "i got a couple of things, you guys can sort them out. i've got one more thing i need to do" he set the bags down onto the table, turned and walked out the back door. he walked down the pathway, until he reached the alcove. he kneeled down onto the ledge of the planter box and reached out to hold the main part of the flower between his fingers, looking it over before he heard a voice ask "josh?" he turned and saw that all of the residents were presently standing in the pathway "naru? did you tell them about this?" she smiled and nodded, saying "yep" he let out a breath and said "well, i guess you had to find out one way or another" he stood up and said "welcome to my little alcove. i have plants here from various star systems, including the teraleptil rose from the sergisan ring of planets" "i see, they really are beautiful on this planet aren't they?" Peorth asked, examining a seperate plant. josh nodded and remarked "the soil around this place really brings out the colour of the Dylafadils" Peorth sniffed a rose and said "oh josh, these are just lovely, serfonse?" he shook his head and stated "nope, they're from the styggia planet" Peorth smiled and said "oh, i see" as she released the flower from between her fingers and stood up, adding "this is a very beautiful place, full of beautiful flowers. Belldandy would love to see this" she stopped as they heard feet, running down the path way. they tensed as the people approached, before josh smiled as he saw them. the 49er's gathered in a group in front of him, before one of them left the group and approached him, wearing the face of distress. josh's expression changed into confusion as he asked "hey, what's going on, where's b-box?" they approached and took in a deep breath, before they said grimly "B-box was kidnapped" he gasped and said "really, by who?" they said "we don't know, they just left a tape with a message saying that whoever it is has him" josh took the tape and said "alright, i have a pretty good idea who took him, we'll just see if i'm right" as he walked past everyone, not saying anything else as they followed him into the appartments and into the main room, where he went over and inserted the video into the VCR and pressed play as the other people came into the room. he sat down between Urd and Peorth as the video began to play, showing a podium in front of a curtain, made from the flag of Australia. a man walked up to the podium and said "Joshua Payne, by now, your homies have already told you that we have your friend, and by now you already know who we are. what we want is to set up a deal, your life for his" the camera moved around to show B-box, he was tied to a chair and being beaten by the other gang members. the camera moved back to the man as he said "Joshua, the deal is so. if you refuse to show, we will kill him and then find you and kill you and everyone you know and love. the meeting place is the hinata docks, tommorrow at midday. come alone or you both die. we have something planned that will make your shadow powers useless" the tape stopped, so josh sat up and said "just fucking great. tommorrow, i'm gonna go and i'm gonna kill every single one of them" he stood up and both Peorth and Urd grabbed his arms, Urd wore an expression of distress as she said "no josh, it's not worth you going and dying for us" he turned and said "Urd, i will never be able to move on from my past until i kill these fuckers, every last one of them" he turned to the 49ers and said "well, we've got work to do".....

The next day, josh was driving the dodge down an old dirt road as it led towards the Hinata docks. he arrived at the Hinata docks and pulled the car to a stop and sat back as he looked around the docks, studying the area before he heard a car approach. he turned his head to see a black van approach, making him roll his eyes as he muttered "black van?, jesus these bastards are so cliche, it's no wonder i left. ah well" as he climbed out of the dodge. four hooded crooks climbed out and rushed towards him, making him furrow his brow "what the bloody hell is going on?" he asked, before a crook snuck up behind him and clubbed him in the back of the head with a tire iron, rendering him unconcious. he collapsed into one of the crooks arms and another grabbed his legs saying "c'mon, get him in. now, goddamn it" as they hurried him into the van and closed the door, as the van sped away.

Josh stirred, slowly at first, disorientated as he arose to conciousness "whaaa, what the hell is going on?" he turned his head slowly to see that he was chained to a wall. he moved his arms, trying to break free, but he stopped when he heard a familiar voice say "there's no point Josh, they got you with a pretty powerful binding spell, so you can't get out" he turned to see, to his complete horror and suprise, Belldandy was there, as well as her two sisters and Peorth. his eyes widened in horror as he said "what're you four doing here, i thought they just wanted me?" Belldandy shook her head sadly and said "i really don't know. they came into the temple, shot my keiichi and kidnapped myself and skuld" it was then that the door opened and in came four men, three were presumably the thugs, who were weilding an M60 belt-fed chaingun, a SPAS 12 gauge automatic riot shotgun and an M-16a1 urban assault recoilless rifle with grenade launcher and laser targeting. the unarmed gangster unchained the goddesses from the walls and they forced the five to move out from the dungeon, into the main chamber, which was bleak, dank and dark, lit only by the various lamps. as they walked down the main pathway, josh saw various gang members bowing and chanting towards a pool containing some kind of liquid. they were stopped by one of the thugs, who moved behind Skuld and moved her towards the pool. josh turned and saw someone approach, sliding a jagged jewel-encrusted knife from it's sheath as they approached Skuld from behind "SKULD!!" josh cried as they quickly brought the knife to Skuld's throat and in one quick motion, moved it across her throat, opening up and spilling it's prescious lifeblood. Skuld gargled as she held her throat and turned to the others, making the deities freeze in terror as the blood flowed through her fingers and down onto her dress as she collapsed to the floor, in front of the pool.

while the Goddesses were crying, josh felt nothing, not pain nor sorrow or anger, just numbness, like something inside him just snapped. he closed his eyes and heard a voice, ancient and hidden, but it was there, deep in his subconcious "JOSHUA" he opened his eyes and saw that he was back on the grounds of the courtyard, but this time, the trees were burning and a figure stood again at the edge of the courtyard, looking out onto the plasma river. they were dressed in black and had a massive red cape swirling around them, making josh gasp in horror as he realised that he'd only seen this man in a movie he watched years ago, starring Michael Jai White, John Leguizamo and Martin Sheen. "Spawn?" they stood and turned, revealing the glowing green eyes that, could potentially, hold countless horrors within. they stood to their full height, about 6ft 7" and said in a deep booming voice "if you prefer, although i am essentially the darkness within, the darkness that has always existed, even before the gods were born into existance. throughout mankind's evolution, i have existed in one form or another, in one man's body, or another's. that is, until i found my way into your body. i felt the darkness festering inside your heart, inside your soul, so i knew that you would have the power nessiscary to defeat him" Josh's expression changed to curiosity as he asked "defeat who exactly?" "when i was brought into existence, long before those you call "Kami-sama" and "Hild", another was born of hatred, of evil. his name was Legion. out of time and space and the existence we fought for countless millenia's, never managing to win. one hundred thousand years ago; when humanity was still evolving, we fought on the planet of resmon. during the fight, i managed to mortally wound him and with a stroke of luck, managed to seal away his corporeal form and his magic, but now your ex-gang member friends are reviving him. the only way for existence to be safe is to completely annihilate his very existance, his core, his soul, his everything. to do this, you and i must bond completely. unlike yours and Mikhail's bond, we must bond through mind, body, soul, energy, feelings and powers. the three of us must become one, completely and utterly. when we do, we will be able to bring forth joawil. joawil's form is a result of myself combining with Mikhail" Josh nodded and said "alright. but first, i must ask, will it be permanent?" Spawn shook his head and said "it will last as long as you need in order to destroy him. i can feel it, you have a power that was hidden away, but it will come to the surface when we join. and when we do, you will be able to take on my appearance" josh nodded and said "alright, let's get to it then" Spawn nodded and his mask unjoined, seperating to reveal, well, nothing inside. josh smiled and said "cool" as a line appeared down the middle of the front of the suit, before it opened. Josh felt nothing at first, before he felt cold as the suit bonded with him. he closed his eyes as the suit melted into him, before he let loose a massive yell.

His eyes shot open quickly as he looked up to the roof and broke the shackles that bound him as he let out a blood curdling yell. the deities all turned as well as the other gang members to see him rip off his shirt, to reveal black necroplasm armour with something resembling a white M on the front. he stood up and ripped off his pants, revealing more necroplasm armour, before he turned and pointed towards the lead gang member, saying "YOU" as a massive red coat appeared around his neck and a black mask appear, covering his entire head. all of a sudden, the room shook, making some pillars crumble and fall as various gang members scatter in fear, before some stones fell, crushing them. the shaking stopped, making josh and the deities and the other people turn towards the pool, as the liquid began taking form. josh turned and said in Spawn's voice "you dickhead Jezza, do you realise what the hell you've unleashed?" Jezza turned and said in a cackling voice "HAHAHA, YOU FOOL!! I FINALLY HAVE THE MEANS TO KILL YOU" they turned to the liquid, which changed into the shape of a man, who was wearing a long overcoat and a frill-necked shirt, and they also had their eyes closed and they were looking down at the ground. their head arose and their eyes shot open, revealing empty black swirling orbs for eyeballs. a cruel smile spread on their lips as jerry approached the figure, kneeling in front of of the man, saying "my master, this is the man that we want you to destroy" as he pointed to josh. the man looked to josh and smiled a cruel grin, saying "Segfel, is that really you?" Josh gritted his teeth in anger and said "Legion" he nodded and said "Segfel, how long has it been, 90, no 100 billion years?" he put his hand out and an energy ball formed in his hand, before he launched it at jerry, blowing his head apart and spreading his brains around a 4ft radius. Josh turned back to Legion and charged at him, readying his fist for a punch, but Legion saw it coming, so a barrier formed around him. josh's fist collided with the barrier, making Legion smile in triumph as the field reversed, creating a massive explosion....
