as belldandy, carrying sakura in her arms, urd, who was carrying mal and peorth in the baskets and keiichi and skuld left, josh headed down the landing when he was stopped by kami-sama "JOSHUA, I COULD REALLY USE A GUY LIKE YOU. IF YOU WANT TO, I WILL HIRE YOU FOR SOME PEACE-KEEPING JOBS IN OTHER DIMENSIONS. YOU WILL BE REWARDED UPON COMPLETION OF THESE JOBS. YOU WILL NOT BE WORKING FOR ME OFFICIALLY, UNOFICIALLY, YOU WILL BE HIRED, WHAT DO YOU SAY?" he thought for a moment before he said "sure, why not" "VERY WELL, I WILL SPEAK TO YOU SOON" "alright, goodbye my friend" said josh as he waived, leaving the ship. it floated up, turned and flew away, into the night sky.

"what were you doing josh before you found out?" "i was watching a movie with hild, she had come over because she claimed you called her" "what, i don't remember that. oh well" said urd as josh sat down on the couch "so what were you watching hmm, some kinky movie perhaps?" she asked slyly as she sat down on his lap "no actually, we were watching serenity before rind called. i haven't finished watching it yet" he pressed play on the dvd and it began playing the movie again as they sat down to watch.

after the movie, josh turned it off and said "alright, i'm going to head off to bed now. c'mon urd, its best we put these two to bed. see you guys in the morning" "alright" said keiichi as josh and urd carried the two baskets to their room. they set them down in the cots and collapsed into the bed "i'm so exhausted i" he never finished that sentance because he fell asleep, a content look on his face. Urd looked at him and just smiled, right before a voice said "yes half-breed 2nd class, you want the power to help him, i can help you obtain powers you cant imagine" "alright, who are you?" she thought before the voice replied "i am just a friend who wishes to help. if i give you these powers, you will be able to help him, to save him from his sins" "alright, what do i have to do?" "let me inside of you" "alright" she thought before all was tranquil, then it started getting painful "ahh, what's going on?" "AHAHAHAHAHA, stupid goddess. Now i finally have the power i need, AHAHAHAHAHA" "who are you?" she thought as she clutched her head and jumped off the bed, stumbling around the room, waking the children who in turn, roused josh "huh, what's going on? urd?" he sat up and saw urd, as she turned and showed him her goddess markings change from the inverted triangle to two slash-looking marks "what the hell's going on?" he said as he threw off the blanket and went over to her. she eventually stood and threw out her arm, grabbing him around the throat "URD, what the hell is going on" he managed to say. he could feel his eyelids get heavy as she said "i do not answer to that name anymore. you will fear me mortal, for i am the rightful heir to the lord of terror" tears began to fall from his eyes as he said "urd, why?" they laughed and threw him away, into the wall where he was knocked unconscious. the babies crying finally got to them, so they twirled a black cape around them and dissapeared, leaving a puff of smoke.

"Josh, URD!!" shouted belldandy as she threw open the paper door to their room "oh no, JOSH!!" she said as she ran over to his unconscious form. she shook him softly. he opened his eyes slowly, and then shot up, and looked around "URD, WHERE'S URD!!" he panicked "JOSH, what happened. he turned and said "urd's been posessed by some thing that calls itself "the rightful heir to the lord of terror" "oh no, this is bad" "what is it belldandy?" "the lord of terror is bad news. if things keep going the way they are, you can say goodbye to the mortals of this world because if no one stops her, she will summon fenrir and annihilate the world" "jesus" he said as a jacket appeared on him "i've got to save her" "the problem is, we don't know where she's gone to though" said belldandy thoughtfully "belldandy, go to yggdrasil and find her through there. keiichi, you stay here and wait. skuld, you improve the defences around this home and i will find her on the streets" "what the hell do you think you're doing josh" he turned and they saw not the friendly kind face of josh; instead, they saw a look of determination and anger "that wasn't a suggestion. if there's any way that i can save her, i will try it, even if it means i let that bastard infect me. my life means nothing to me, but she means everything to me, so i will save her" he finished as he began walking out the front door.

he walked past the dimly lit shops in the mall as he made his way towards the makuhari high-rise apartment block. he took the lift to the roof, stepped out of the elevator and walked right up to the ledge of the roof, overlooking the entire city "where the hell did you go urd?" he felt a pair of arms grab him by the shoulders and pull him back onto the roof and a silky voice say "i missed you loverboy. how about we get a room and have some fun, you like that don't you?" josh felt giddy at this, until he turned and realised "you're not urd, you're that asshole" "fine" they said simply before she pushed him, he stumbled back until he approached the ledge "joshua, become my servant and you will be spared when fenrir surfaces" "no, i will never join you, give me back my urd-chan NOW!!" "nope" she said slyly before she she shoved him. he fell back and started to fall. as he fell, he noticed his descent began to slow and he felt two arms lift him up, he managed to look up and see "Hild?" "how you doing kid?" "what in blue blazes are you doing here?" "i'm here to help you. let's get you back to the temple, alright?" he began to move, saying "no, let me go. i have to save her. i'm the only one that can" she finally let go and he began falling again, but not before trial of the forsaken appeared, stopping his fall

he turned to his angel and said "listen, we're going to do whatever the hell we have to to save her, even if we have to die in the process. you got that?" he nodded and thoughtcast <i understand friend> josh smiled and nodded to his angel who did the same.

josh landed on the street and began walking down the sidewalk, until a shadowy figure said "hey you" he turnd and said "what do you want? i ain't got time for your games" "i know what she's up to" they said as they removed their hood to reveal a face under some blonde hair

"josh" the demoness called "if you fail, kami-sama will kill her to destroy the lord of terror. as much as you think i would want that, i don't. urd was my best friend and if i can help to save her, i will do what i can, that's why if you come with me, i can get you into her lair to try to reason with the lord of terror"

josh sighed, as much as he'd like to deny it he knew the demoness was his help, wether he liked it or not, so he said "alright mara, let's do this. if you're lying to me at all, god be with ya" the demoness raised her hands defensively, saying "no, i'm on the level with you. everything i've told you is the truth. i would not lie when i believe in something like this" somehow, the demonesses words had a certain ring of truth to them, so josh said "alright, let's do this"

"lets go" she said as a portal opened behind her. she turned and walked through first, then followed by josh.

as he came out, he looked around and saw that they were in what appeared to be an apartment "where are we?" "we're in her lair" he ran over to the door and kicked it open. "josh, cried mara as he ran out and stood in a room. he looked around the quiet, empty room; bar a couple of pillows, a bed and veil. a clapping sound could be heard, so he turned and saw them, they waled down a set of stairs wearing a very revealing costume "good, you've come to me. have you come to re-consider my offer?" "nope, i want you to release urd and let me have her back" "and why should i do this, mortal?" they said as they came closer to him, sultrily shaking their hips "JOSH, destroy the urn and you can release her from his spell" he nodded in acknowledgement and a smile formed on his lips "well" he said "guess i'll save that option for later" he took in a deep breath and quick as a flash, threw a fireball which hit the urn as it sat on an altar in the room "THE URN IS DESTROYED. TERROR PROGRAM ACTIVATED; FINAL STAGES BEGINNING. FENRIR WILL BE FREED" said the voice from the urn as it shattered "MARA, you told me that it would stop her, but it activated the final program" "i-i'm sorry josh, i really thought it would work" she said before they spoke up "HAHAHA, now to summon fenrir, goodbye you two pathetic saps" they said as they dissapeared in a puff of smoke. they watched for a moment, before he turned and said urgently "mara, where is fenrir likely to be raised from?" "his water prison just off the coast, but we might already be too late" "why?" he asked as mara moved to the window. josh went over and looked out. he saw a bright light beaming into the temple "great, kami-sama's contacted them, now i've really got to move" it was then that a dull throb in his head suddenly kicked in, alerting him to something "oh god" he said as he saw a massive wolf start to climb out from the sea "oh shit, that bastard's woken up fenrir. go josh, GO!!" she said as she pushed him into a portal. he appeared in the air with his angel behind him over the city. he could see in the distance the massive shape of fenrir as it howled into the sky before it let loose a huge energy beam from its mouth, destroying a huge part of the city.
