This is the second part to the last chapter, yes, but I felt that it was important enough to warrant its own chapter. (If any of that made any sense at all, please be sure to inform me.)

Chapter 7: Discussions, part two

Siva stared sadly at her lovely firefly before sighing. Silently, she teleported to the shrine, and addressed the two women that were left in the room.

“Setsuna. Rei.”

The named women whirled about and as one, gulped.

Setsuna eyed Siva quietly, “Who are you?”

(A/N: Is it just me or are these people dumber than a bag of nails? After all those damn hints she gave them, they still can't guess who she is. Heh….I wonder….)

The figure's triple-colored irises gleamed in the sinister shadows. “Did I not tell you before? Who I am is inconsequential. It is enough to know that things are progressing. You will have one chance, and one chance only.”

Rei shuddered at her tone and hesitantly voiced her uncertainty. "Chance for what?"

The figure laughed, and the sound was sweet yet harsh, melodious yet bitter, innocent yet cruel. “You will know when the time comes, my Rei-chan." The figure's voice sounded of amusement and mockery.

Rei stilled. And then the hot fury that she had been keeping back for days now broke free. Fire in her eyes, she cried out, "THAT'S IT! I've had ENOUGH! Mars…Celestial…Firestorm…BLAST!”

Siva shook her head and sighed. She flicked her wrist and the Galactic Staff appeared in her hand…apparently out of nowhere. “Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Twilight Shield.”

Just as the discharge of exceedingly hot flames reached the figure, a pitch-black energy shield flared to life and absorbed it.

She laughed again. “Now, it's my turn.”

Siva twirled the staff around expertly, faster and faster it went...and then it stopped. She pointed the staff at Rei. The two crystals at the top of the staff radiated a fierce gold aura, with spikes of blue and violet energy thrown in.

“Galactic Twilight Dance.”

A beam of black power spiked with blue and violet energy raced towards the suddenly petrified miko and struck. Rei was lifted in the air, which seemed to dance around her prone form in pure mockery. With a final cry and a very large and painful crash, Rei was sent through the wall.

Setsuna's voice quaked with fear. “Please, I beg of you, who are you?”

Siva stilled as she stared hard at Setsuna, her triple-irises glinting sharply. Apparently deciding to 'share', she stepped into the light. Setsuna's face showed confusion and uncertainty as she stared at the face of one she had betrayed more than once. In a split second, she though that perhaps it was only a look-alike -after all, there were more than enough differences. But then, Siva spoke. Then Setsuna knew... Knew that everything that she and the other senshi had done to dishonor or damage this person had distorted this person beyond recognition or reparation.

And maybe, just maybe, they would live to lament their betrayal.

“Don't you know darling 'Puu'?” Her voice turned sardonic. “Oh, that's right. How stupid of me to forget. Your gates are closed forever more to you. But…because you asked in such a nice way…” Her voice trailed off. Her eyes narrowed dangerously and her voice thrummed with power as she formally announced who she was …and what she had become. “I am the herald of the new age which is almost upon us. I am the representative of the Eclipsed Moon Kingdom.” She paused and smiled; a wicked, serpentine smile that sent shivers down Setsuna's spine. “Beware for your prince. For I WILL kill him.”

With that done and said, the figure turned and left. Setsuna stared after the retreating form and whispered one word…a name…

“Usagi…”
