Fan Fiction ❯ A New Destiny ❯ GREAT JOB RIKU! And I mean that sarcastically. ( Chapter 4 )
The next day Sora and Riku got into a fight about the name of the raft. So they decided to have a race. I rolled my eyes as they took off.
" Boys, boys, what am I going to do with you two," I muttered as Sora fell off the tree. Riku was already on his way back. So you know Riku won the race. That way Sora was the one who had to find everything.
" Let's see if you can beat me," I said coming up to Riku.
" No," he replied.
" Afraid to be beaten by a girl," I retorted smirking.
" You're on," I he replied.
I nodded to Kairi and she began the count down. When she reached zero we took off. Instead of going Riku's way I jumped off the ledge and ran in the water. I heard the board crack and fall. With Riku behind me I ran across the raft and up the hill. Riku tagged the tree a few millimeters before I did. Jumping down I ran and actually caught up. Jumping onto the short ledge I passed Riku and ran across the water. I beat Riku by mere millimeters.
Catching my breath Riku jumped onto the ledge.
" Not bad," he said catching his breath also.
I smiled and watched as Sora begged Kairi for hints on where everything was. Both of us laughed as Kairi hit Sora in the head for filling up the water container with salt water.

Later that evening when it was time for all of us to go home I took one last look at the Destiny Islands. I knew what was to come tonight. And I was going with Riku whether he liked it or not. I sighed as we got to his place.
When we got to Riku's place and met his parents we walked up into his room.
" Um.. Riku can I take a shower," I blushed and muttered.
" Yeah right across the hall," he said laying on his bed and closing his blue eyes.
I took my pajamas and took a shower. I got out in about 5 minutes and put on my pj's. Brushing my hair out I walked back into his room. Finding him almost asleep I smiled at the cute scene.
" Do you know anymore poems," Riku asked quietly as I sat down at the edge of his bed.
" Yeah," I replied just as softly.
" Could you recite another please," I muttered almost begging me to," I like hearing your voice."
Seeing this new side to Riku I was slightly surprised, " Sure if you want me to.
The thing that happened next truly surprised me. Riku sat up and pulled me into him with my head in his lap. Closing his eyes I started to recite a short beautiful poem:
I miss you a lot
It's needless to say
I need you in my life
I am so lost and confused
Please come back to me
I don't know what to do
Without you, there is no me
I am crying out for you
But you are not around to hear it
The loneliness in my heart
Is slowly killing me off
Because you are not here
Please come back to me
I need you in my life
We fell asleep in each other's arms. Him holding me to him and slowly rubbing my arm. And me in his lap. Listening to his steady heartbeat. Not caring if anybody saw.
That was how his mother found us later that night, coming up to say good night. She smiled at the scene.
Looks like my baby has finally found someone she thought and closed the door.

I woke up with at start. Shaking Riku awake I pointed to outside. We looked at each other, got dressed, and ran literally to the other side of the island. Shadows followed us.
" The creatures that attacked me," I yelled to Riku over the storms loud scream.
We got to the island and watched as many black balls floated down to the shore. Suddenly Sora ran over the bridge. Riku and I turned towards him. Putting my hand on Riku's shoulder, silently begging for him not to do this.
They got into an argument about what was happening. Suddenly a black mist surrounded all of us. Yelping in surprise and slight fear I hugged Riku from behind. Sora, bless his heart, tried to reach Riku. But it was all in vain. The blackness surrounded me and Riku, sucking us into an unknown world.
