Chapter 2: Shock
Evan rushed into a corner, hysterical and shaking violently. His wife had been killed cold-blooded, in front of his eyes by his father. Thomas walked closer to his son, who was now screaming. No one could hear him except for his father, for the kids had gone to the mall.
“Oops…I hit the wrong person. Oh well, she was nothing but an ugly bitch so….”Thomas said, trailing off.
“Y-You evil….” Evan said, with a shaking voice.
“You can stop panicking now Evan. Can't you control yourself? You've been like this for a long time…. When are you going to get some help?”
“Over my dead body, and should I be asking the same thing to you, Dad?”
“HA! This bitch over here….” Thomas pointed at Mina's dead body and continued, “…was so worried about your mental state. Well, that's too bad Evan, I'll guess that you'll die with a fucked up mind then.”
Evan gritted his teeth together. He can't let his father get away…not after killing Mina.
“You'll die after saying those things about my wife.” He said, his eyes starting to turn blue.
“Try me.” Thomas taunted with his arms wide open. “Make some spectacular psychic blast that can kill me.” His face displayed an evil grin. “Trust me, you wont.”
Evan lunged for the kill. He knocked down Thomas and punched him in the face, causing his nose to break and blood to splatter out in all directions.
“HA-HA! Son, is this all you got? My turn now!” Thomas concentrated his energy and placed his hand on Evan's chest, over his heart. Evan froze, unable to move, and he suddenly felt a sharp pain. He collapsed, starting to cough up blood.
“Bye son…see you later.” Thomas said as Evan blacked out. “Take a nice rest….”

The hospital's hallways seemed like a void to Renee Kayos. As she walked slowly in the main hallway on the second floor, her ears echoed with the sound of the wheels of gurneys screeching the floors and the same voice on the PA paging different doctors, over and over again. The sanitary smell of the hallway bothers both her eyes and nose.
She had never thought her cousin Evan would be in a place like this….
Renee is short and skinny, with pink hair and green eyes, but with pink colored contacts. She is also a Half-Breed, just like her older cousin, Evan.
She finally stopped walking, and stood right in front of Evan's hospital room, 219. Renee turned the door handle, pushed open the door, and peeked inside. In her sight, she could see Evan, pale and breathing harshly, in the hospital bed.
“Hello Cousin Renee!” a voice said behind Renee, making her jump. “AHHH!!!!” She turned around and saw Carly, with a large smile.
Why is she smiling now? Her father nearly died and her mother did by the hands of her grandfather!
“What's wrong cousin?” Carly said, with a frown. Renee bent down to her level. “Nothing…just nothing…” She said and Carly let into Renee's arms and started sobbing.
“Carly….” Renee sadly said. Carly said with a choked voice, “I- I tried to…pretend that I was happy…. It didn't work.”
“No one can be happy at a time like this sweetie.” Renee replied.
Except Uncle Thomas.
“Cousin…I want to see Dad…please?”
“Okay Carly….” Renee held Carly's hand and led her inside Evan's hospital room. “Shh….” She whispered to the girl as they walked towards the bed where Evan lay. Renee let go of Carly's hand and walked closer to the bed.
“R-Renee….” Evan muttered suddenly.
“Evan?” Renee questioned softly.
“Take Carly into another room. I- I need to talk to you personally.” Evan replied, straining his voice.
Renee looked at Carly. Carly smiled, waved at Evan, and ran out into the hallway. Evan, waving back, motioned Renee to come closer and to sit in a chair by the bed. Renee followed and laid her head on the white covers, near Evan's arm.
Evan looked up at the fluorescent lights in the ceiling as he said, “My father did this to me and Mina, Renee.”
“I know…” Renee said with a muffled voice. Evan laid his hand on top of her head. “Did you tell Carly and the twins yet?”
“No Evan.”
“Good…First of all, I need to get out of here…I hate hospitals.” Evan said, rising up.
“Don't get up too fast Evan….” Renee warned.
“Why Renee? I'm fine.”
Renee looked at Evan suspiciously. “You're hiding something.”
Evan looked at Renee. “Why do you think that?”
Renee shot straight up in anger. “What the heck are you talking about Evan?! You been hit in the heart by a psychic attack and you almost died! Don't you think that you almost died and not even one doctor said anything about your condition, it would be suspicious? There is no way that you don't know anything about your status.”
Evan looked disturbed. “I don't want to talk about it at all Renee….”
“Why?”
“B-Because…I don't want the kids to know at all. I don't want them to worry more….”
Renee looked as if she was about to cry.
She did.
