Chapter 16 (Nateal's P.O.V)

So this was the realm of eternity… well… with a couple trees and buildings, it would be a good place to defend, against an enemy army. Soon the sorcerer came as he said. "Why have we been sent here sorcerer?" I demanded as though I held the power.

He grinned and replied. "After you complete a small task for me, I will personally see to whatever you need. But you still have not completed that, so I cannot grant that." Mitch yelled, "Because of this quest, a good man is dead." He then walked away… not caring of the sorcerer or any of this, just mourning his lost friend.

The sorcerer said trough soft tones. " We are all at risk now, this is no longer my quest for you… but rather the quest to see if the realms are strong enough. The demon king Addison is back and wishes to find revenge… why he picked this group is unknown, but I think he wishes to terminate all of you. And without my help Mitch will die soon."

Mitch whispered, "How could I die? Nothing there would kill me would they? Plus I'm not a very big threat to this demon king, if he is as powerful as the legends say…" Khadgin sadly replied. "If I had known I would not have come. But he thinks he can use the vampire that gave you that mark, to kill you… or to have you kill yourself with a pain the will be unimaginable."

Mitch's eyes widened as he heard this. Then he put his hand to the mark on his neck. Slowly remembering about her, he said. "And this isn't the crazy wench's fault? She came after me."

Khadgin grinned at his remark; " there is no reason to be calling people names Mitch… she only did what she did, because she was under a spell. Although she is powerful she is not nearly as powerful as Addison or myself. She only stopped herself from killing you, by marking you. So technically you are in her debt.

Mitch's skin paled at hearing this, and he shut up. Everyone seemed to be quiet during the time the sorcerer was here. Khadgin whispered " I need you to stay here for two hours… go to the east and you will find a portal, unlike the stone the portal brings you to where I want to you to go. And not anywhere else, if you do not wait Mitch will die.

We must follow the rules of the gods to win the oncoming battle…" Deciet swiftly intervened "the gods abandoned us long ago… what makes you think they would come back?" the sorcerer shook his head slowly, "maybe the gods did not abandon you… but maybe you abandoned the gods?" with that he disappeared and we headed east… good thing Mitch had a compass…

(Khadgin's P.O.V)

I swiftly removed myself from their presence, the cleric knew something that I did not… but knowing I would get nothing from her… I decided against pressing her.

I quickly went into temples looking for the vampire, knowing Addison would try to use her. I found her an hour later, praying the her gods… Egyptian to be exact, she still wore the cloak she had when she approached Mitch. I tapped her on the shoulder and she… disintegrated?

I looked around and felt her watching me… she was waiting for a precise moment to try and kill me. Vampires are subtle creatures that will do anything. After you tamper with their minds a little bit… she lunged at me with the speed of a demon, but with my superior magic skills, I easily kept her suspended in midair.

And using a simple teleportation spell brought her to my Tower. Then putting her in a magically sealed room, I went in after and found her asleep. The herbs seemed to be working. I put some crystal into the room and sat down, working with arcane magic, that the Magi's lost after the third age, I slowly worked against this spell that Addison had set on her.

(Deciet's P.O.V)

We had slowly made our way to the portal. We knowingly were taking this long, to avoid waiting longer and dying of boredom. The weird being awoke with a start and almost decapitated Mitch, but other then that we got there pretty smoothly.

We learned little of the being, only that his memory had been erased; the only thing that he knew was his name was Xyan. I measured up Xyan; he had blades on the back of his hands. Had a tail with blades on it, this creature was also build for speed, same as myself.

We had soon got to the portal and decided to set up camp. Nateal being the smart one gave us tents before we left the castle, and the barbarians had given his blankets… amazing… they were barbarians and they were more civilized then the townsfolk.

We set up all the tents then found a small river and we decided we would take turns bathing. If we were going back to Mitch's realm we would have to smell somewhat good… The cleric decided she would go first and she went… it was as simple as that, no one questioned her and all seemed quiet.

Soon after we had all bathed and gotten ready to sleep in our own tents, Nateal went searching for anything unusual or as he said it… "Scouting the land" the cleric went about an hour later… it was obvious she liked him, but Nateal seemed… Questionable? Yes that would be a good word for this. He had lost many loved ones before this, so he had the right to be questionable…

We all heard the cracking of a branch and saw a man, standing no taller then six foot, he wore a deep red cloak the color of fire. He also had wings… but they were an ice blue color. The man stepped forward and said. "You must leave this place at once, you are not safe here."

As the others slept I stood up to him and said. "We will not move until two moons have passed. Otherwise our friend will die," he growled out in response, " two moons… we can wait that long, but no longer. Is there any that strayed?" I nodded and the weird man disappeared, then reappeared with both Nateal and the cleric, who had seemingly found each other, and were engaged in a conversation when he interrupted.

He whispered to us "my name is Pheonix. I have come to help you. The way of passage is safe for your friend. The sorcerer just wanted to make sure he was safe. He told me to come here to meet you, also to tell any that come to back away from this place. But you must all get sleep tonight. Sleep for I will take the watch.

Amazingly no one questioned but they rather fell under a small spell, of sleeping.

We awoke in the morning; the man was sitting on a log watching the east. A storm seemed to be brewing and he did not wish to be caught in it. After a few minutes of explaining we had left to the realm… of humans.
