Fan Fiction ❯ Do I really know what love is? ❯ Everything begins now ( Chapter 3 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Here I am once again with another chapter of this story of mine. I think that my story's progress is very slow. I mean, there's really no much change to the turn of events even if it already has two chapters. Well, I really tried my best to make a bigger progress on this one. Please read and Review!
Chapter 3: Everything begins now
The next day, after hearing the most shocking news, everything seemed to be happening so fast. So fast, that anyone of them can hardly absorb the twists and turns of events. The commercial agency contacted Clarisse's parents to discuss the rules and regulations before they could start filming the commercial. Of course, whose parents won't be proud if your daughter will be a commercial model of one of the most well known teen's garment brand? As soon as everything has been settled, the agency talked to Clarisse's school to ask if she can be absent for about a week, due to the commercial's shooting. Well, unsurprisingly, the school said yes without considering what will be Clarisse's academic condition if she'll be away for a week. She'll have trouble in catching up with their lessons especially now that the exams are fast approaching. It's obvious that the school is very much happy about Clarisse's exposure to the public because if ever she'll succeed, they will take credit as the school of one of the hottest teen model today.
“Good luck girl! And don't forget to have fun.” Diane said as she waved at her best friend who stepped inside the agency's van to go to their location and finally start filming the commercial.
Clarisse is feeling very uneasy but at the same time, excited. This is it. There's no turning back now. All I have to do is try my best and have fun. She thought to herself while staring out of the window, leaving their neighborhood as the same shy and timid girl who just dreams to have someone to love her. But what she's not aware of is that when she comes back, everything won't be the same.
_________________________________________________________________ _____
It's already been two days since Clarisse left. As for Diane, she felt a little lonely about it because she has no one else to talk to like the way she talks to Clarisse. Both of them have friends who they laugh with but the two of them share this kind of friendship that only they can understand. Lunch break arrived; Diane sat at the canteen alone, eating her meal that seemed to be tasteless. She never felt how lonely it is to eat alone until today. She stared blankly on her food, thinking how her best friend is doing. Suddenly, she saw someone stood beside her table and smiled at her.
“Xander!” She screamed, feeling startled because her thoughts were disturbed.
“I'm sorry if I just popped in here from nowhere. I just saw you alone and noticed that you're feeling a bit lonely. Can I join you?” Xander asked, still smiling at Diane who seemed to have finally came back to her senses once again. Diane nodded, making Xander sit across her.
“I guess you're alone because Clarisse is not around to shoot for the commercial. Am I right?”
“Yeah…” Diane sighed, starting to eat her food again.
“You know, I think you should quit acting like your best friend is gone forever.” Xander said, making Diane stare at him with an unusual expression. “I mean, I really think that she's having fun there. So it's not right that you'll bury yourself in sadness. Just be happy for her, Okay?”
With those words, Diane felt relieved. She felt that all her worries have been washed away by this awesome guy in front of her. From that day on, Xander temporarily took Clarisse's place as Diane's friend while she's away. He's always by her side and even joins her in studying. Time seemed to flee so fast whenever she's with him; Diane thought that if she can make time stop, she'll do it.
But as the time passed by when she's with Xander, the day also came when Clarisse's commercial will be played on television. She hasn't come back yet due to different arrangements with some things about the commercial. That night, everybody at their school waited for Clarisse's commercial. Some even sat near the television without even eating dinner just to see their schoolmate's commercial. Of course, the most excited of them all are Clarisse's parents. They can't wait to see their daughter shine in front of those cameras. And the moment that everybody has been waiting for finally arrived. After that weekly talk show, they finally aired Clarisse's commercial. Everybody's eyes are steadily concentrating on the television. Clarisse came out, wearing fabulous clothes and very artistic make up. All of the people watching at their homes fell open mouthed, wondering if that really is Clarisse.
Last night's commercial is the talk of the whole school the following day. Banners are scattered everywhere, everybody holds small streamers that has “I love Clarisse” printed on it. It seemed like Clarisse became an instant superstar. It is also the day when Clarisse will finally go back and once again, live her normal life. That is, if her life will still be normal. Everybody lined up near the gate, holding their streamers while waiting for Clarisse. Diane seemed to be nervous. What if she doesn't treat me as her best friend now? Now that these people are already praising her. She worriedly thought, and once again, Xander noticed her uneasiness (Yeah right. I'm making Xander look like he has natural powers that could read through people's minds. But, he doesn't really have any).
“Don't worry. You're friendship will be the same. Trust me.” Xander assured her, making her again, feel comfortable. (Xander and Diane are pretty corny right? I'm very sorry about that).
The school's gate opened, letting the agency's van pass through. The van's door slid open, revealing the new Clarisse. The whole school screamed at the sight of her. Boys started to blush one by one. Even Diane, who has been best friends with her since kindergarten, is having a hard time to believe if she's really the Clarisse that she knew. Clarisse's appearance is a lot more different before she left. Her hair is silky straight with little curls at the tips. Her skin looks so smooth like a baby's. The clothes that she's wearing are totally stunning. Theses make her look very attractive. The crowd let her pass through as she headed for her one and only best friend.
“Oh my gosh! Is that you?!” Diane freaked out as Clarisse stood in front of her and hugged her tightly.
“Are you blind?” Clarisse teasingly responded.
Xander smiled as he watched the two of them chat, feeling very happy for Diane. She won't be that lonely anymore because her best bud is back.
Of course, Clarisse didn't forget about her schoolmates who have welcomed her back warmly. She tried to thank each and every one of them, signing autographs here and there. Diane was also very happy because she can feel that so far, nothing has really changed about her friend. Not yet…
I think that really is fast but short! I'm sorry. I can't really concentrate in my writing for these past few days. I've been thinking a lot about going back to school lately. I don't know what to expect for this school year to come. That's it for now. I'm really sorry if this chapter sucks. But anyway, thanks for reading! Don't forget to leave a review. ^_^
