Chapter 2

“I Never Forgot, Love”

Robin runs up to the door, and knocks it open.

 

“It's him,” he says in a panic.

 

“Slade…” Raven whispers, “Every year.”

 

They run to the main room, where the other Titans were. They have the screen down, and a block downtown is flashing red.

 

“What's he doing to get our attention this time?” Beast Boy asks Cyborg.

 

“Look for yourself,” he says as a window appeared on screen showing Slade randomly slaughtering innocents.

 

Decapitating, disemboweling, any way of destroying a life was being shown on the screen. Fires were everywhere, and people were charred. Blood was on Slade's hands and he was laughing. Cars were crashing, and broken glass was everywhere. Men, Women, children…all of them were dead. It was horrifying, and Starfire started crying.

 

“How could one cause so much pain to innocent people!” Starfire screams in tears.

 

“It's Slade. Tell me did he EVER care about anyone?” Raven asks harshly.

 

“We'll do what we have to, to stop him,” Robin says dramatically, “Titans, GO!”

 

Cyborg Runs to the T car, and robin runs to his motorcycle, as Raven Starfire, and Beats boy start to fly, but Raven stops. Someone is on the roof… it is the same person as before! He jumps down, and she flies to grab him. He lands in the water behind a rock, and she hears a splash. She goes over to where he jumped, and the water is calm. Nothing went in, or out, and no water has splashed up on the rock.

 

“You coming?” Beast Boy asks, as she notices him behind her.

 

“You saw it too?”

“Yeah, I saw you fly over here for no reason, and I heard a splash so I followed,” he said.

 

“But… there was… I couldn't be seeing things, YOU HEARD IT TOO! There is no movement in the water! There would be some if someone jump- you don't comprehend physics do you?” she asks and he shakes his head.

 

“Just come on! They're probably ahead of us!” he yells as he turns into a hawk, and soars away.

 

“Maybe I am seeing things…” she says as she flies away, and next to where she was standing, the man stands.

 

“To think Beast Boy is so stupid not to have noticed me making faces at him” he laughs as he flies off.

 

Raven flies fast, and catches up to the others.

 

“What took you?” Robin asks as they drive past the pizza place from before.

 

“Just… thinking…” she says, and Beast Boy finally knew when not to open his mouth.

 

Beats Boy sees out of the corner of his eye, a man in a cloak flying just a few buildings away, but he thinks no one would believe him, so he still doesn't talk.

 

They continue on, and reach where Slade is. He turns from a woman whose legs he ripped off and stabbed with, and he faces the Titans.

 

“Ah, long time no see. What has it been, days, months, years? I guess I am as good at math as Beast Boy. Ha! I keep forgetting,” Slade says as he wipes the blood off of his hands.

 

“When do you give up Slade?” Robin asks, “You tried to resurrect Trigon last year, and almost succeeded the year before.”

 

“Ah, you see Robin, you didn't beat me last time. What happens is that I can only deliver the message on Raven's birthday. No other day. Not Beast Boy's, Not Cyborg's, not Starfire's, only Raven's. So if I fail one year, I will go into dormancy until the next. Only if I get killed, will it end. And I think you wouldn't be able to deal with that on your conscience, would you?” he said in a calm voice.

 

“You can't imagine the things on his conscience,” Cyborg says angrily.

 

“Well, I can't rest until I die, or Trigon ends the world, so either way, something horrible will happen because of you.” he says as he charges at Robin, and lights him on fire. He screams in pain, and the fire goes out.

 

“Oh, and happy birthday, Raven,” he says as he get a Cannon blast from Cyborg straight through his chest.

 

“Shit! I didn't man to do it that powerful!” he screams, and Slade regenerates.

 

“You should have done it harder!” he yells as he hits Cyborg's left arm off. Cyborg screams and begins to bleed.

 

“Oh! I guess that one isn't mechanical! I should have known because I've never seen you detach that one,” he says as he kicks Cyborg into a wall.

 

“Azarath Metreon Zenthos!” Raven screams as a blast of black energy hits Slade into a wall.

 

“Well, well, well… Feisty are we?” he says as he is about to hit her, but Starfire blasts him into Beast Boy, who turns into an elephant and slams him above Starfire, and into a broken car. He is about to get up, but is blasted by Cyborg who put a piece of metal over his wound so he won't die of blood loss. Robin then sends his motorcycle into Slade and it explodes.

 

“Are we victorious?” Starfire asks as everyone but Raven gets blasted away by a broken down car.

 

“Now, it's just us,” Slade says as eh walks slowly toward her.

 

“Azarath Metreon Zenthi!” she screams and covers her mouth as gray energy blasts everywhere, from every orifice of her body. The blast hits Slade and his body slightly deteriorates. His bone shows on half of his body, except his skeletal structure, and he regenerates, “NO! W- W-WRONG C-C-CURSE!” she screams in pain as he body feels like it will explode. The energy then just stops and she coughs up some blood. After that she falls, but is fine.

 

“What was that?” Slade asks in astonishment, “You will never cease to amaze me, Raven. If you were to master that spell, you would be able to kill me.”

 

“No one… Can master it… usually it kills the user… but only one can use it…” she says as he stands over her.

 

“The only way to make it so I won't regenerate is to remove my spine from my brain. But your magic isn't strong enough. If you could concentrate that like you did the Azarath Metreon Zenthos, it would work,” he says as he reaches for her, about to give her the vision again, as the car blows up, and the other Titans get out, but it is too late. They can't stop him.

 

“Heh. Slade, what did Trigon do to you? Hurting innocent Girls. He must have fucked you up more than I could imagine,” a man says. It is the man Raven kept seeing… the man that was stalking her. And he's helping?

 

“Who are you?” Slade asks, and Beast boy notices it is the guy he saw on the way to this area.

 

“Me?” he asks, “Well, you can call me… hmmm… what can you call me?” he asks himself, stalling for time.

 

Raven hears his voice in her head scream `RUN!' and she does. Slade turns to face the warrior, and lets Raven go. He'll get her after he disposes of him.

 

“Well, I guess you could call me…”he says once again, and his hand glows a gray aura like Raven's black one, “AZARATH METREON ZENTHI!” he screams as he slams his hand on the ground.

 

Raven stares in awe as he creates a fissure that follows down the building he is on, and when it gets to Slade, hundreds of gray arms (like what Raven used to pull Cyborg out of the bronze age) grab Slade by each limb, and around the neck.

 

The man jumps down, and moves his cloak to reveal a black skin-tight shirt like the one Raven wears, only not attached to the pants. He wears black long legged pants that are almost skin-tight, and big boots. He looks very slim because all he wears is black. He takes off his top hat, and reveals a handsome face, with his hat hair. He brushes his hair back with his hand, and it goes into a very cool style. He puts the hat on his belt, and he walks up to Slade, who is trying to break free.

 

“Well, well, well,” he says to Slade's face, “Your in quite a pickle” he says in a handsome voice.

 

“Stop fucking toying with me!” Slade says harshly with panic in his voice and eyes.

 

“Well, thanks for telling Raven how to kill you. Without it, I would never know to dislocate your spine from your brain,” he says he takes a few steps back, and walks slowly toward the Titans 2 more steps. He stops halfway facing them, and snaps his fingers.

 

As soon as he does this, all the claws begin to tear at Slade's flesh, and while Slade screams, they tear his head off of his body, and his limbs off of it too. They tear him so that a cell, to any part of the spine, does not connect his brain and then Slade's limbs and torso explode into a million pieces.

“Dead,” the man says as he smiles at Raven.

 

Raven stares at the man for a second, and then runs into his arms. She starts to cry over his shoulder in happiness.

 

“… Crow…” she whispers in tears of joy.

 

“You remember me?” he responds.

 

“I never forgot, Love,” she whispers in tears.
