Fan Fiction ❯ Dragon Keeper ❯ Chapter 4: All is Becoming Clear ( Chapter 4 )
Hi! I'm back with chapter 4! See, it didn't take as long as chapter 3! As usual, I'm hyper, but UN as usual, my characters will begin to develop slightly more serious attitudes (NOTE: I said "Slightly" It's pronounced Sl-height-lee) And look! It's a bunny! Yay!

This chapter starts in my Grandma's house, for those whom were too lazy to read chapter 3… yeah… I know there are some out there like that… Jessica passed out, is it Turbulence or something else? BUTT ATTACKING MONKEYS?! … nope… something else… but you must find out for yourselves! You! Yes you! And to do that you must READ!!! This probably goes against your code, but I don't care! I made this and your eyes will go back and forth across the page reading the WORDS. If you don't know how to pronounce one that I didn't make up, then look it up in the DICTIONARY.
Yay! You're already learning new words you didn't know before! Well, read and you'll discover some many more! Hooray! And maybe if you're lucky, this might be made into a TV series and you won't have to worry about trying to read! You can hear the words and automatically know what they are! But too bad! This is a typed & copyrighted story by me! Yay! Now lets see how many times you can find the word YAY in this little babbling section by me! Ready… Set… GO!

(Jessica slowly opens her eyes, everything is blurry at first, but after a few blinks everything clears up and she can see all of her friends watching her)
Jessica: Uhm… (sits up)
Renee: You're awake! It seemed like you were never going to wake up again!
Jessica: What happened? Where are we?
Shawn: You passed out, we're at Karen's Grandma's house.
Jessica: Ah, why is it so hot?
Renee: No air conditioning… sorry…
Johnathan: We tried to find the fan that Karen's mom got for this house when Karen was four, but we think her Grandma threw it away…
Renee: I know! Good thing we had some leeches to cover your forehead with to shield away a lot of the heat.
Jessica: WHAT?!?!
Shawn: There aren't any leeches on you.
Jessica: Whew…
Shawn: They're slugs!
Jessica: GHAAAAAAH!!!
(An older woman walks into the room followed by a boy with short spiked black hair wearing jeans and a gray shirt covered by an open button up shirt with a green Hawaiian look to it)
Woman: You two should stop scaring her, it could make her pass out again.
Woman: How are you feeling girl?
Jessica: Okay… I guess… how did I get here? And, if you don't mind me asking, who are you?
K's Grandma: Of course not, I'm Karen's Grandmother. You're lucky Karen knew where my house was in this city, so her and the rest of your friends brought you here. Just be glad that Hano's a strong young boy.
Jessica: I don't see Hano any where…
(The short spiky haired boy speaks up)
Hano: Right here, Mrs. ______ decided I needed a haircut…
Jessica: Ooo! Much better look for you! (Claps hands)
Hano: …
Jessica: So have you found the… um… what's it?
Shawn: The last Element stone? Nope, Elora and Karen are looking for it, Karen said it's upstairs. (Leans head towards the open door by the couch revealing a set of stairs covered with green carpet)
K's Grandma: Those stones were to be passed down to Karen from her Grandfather, but I had forgotten completely about them until Karen showed it to me. They've been passed down from generation to generation since Kimitsuna lived.
All at once: You know about Kimitsuna?!
K's Grandma: Of course I do, *chuckles* My husbands side of the family descended from hers. Your family descends from the line of Shonoru, Shawn.
Shawn: You mean Karen doesn't even know that a whole line of people descended from the person she's reincarnated from?
K's Grandma: We couldn't tell her, her brothers, or you and your brothers… it would endanger your lives. If Rashujo found you…
Johnathan: Who's this… Rashujo?
Hano: He's the one who killed Shonoru and Kimitsuna…
Johnathan: But that was years ago! He would be dead by now!
(Hano shakes his head)
Hano: People age differently in Aronada…
Jessica: What do you mean?
K's Grandma: When people live in Aronada, they only age to be 17, then, the only way they can die is if they are killed by someone.
Shawn: So… he's still alive… but why did we have to go if we're in danger?
K's Grandma: Because you are the only ones who can stop him. With the power of the Element stones, and you being the reincarnations of the greatest warriors…
Jessica: But they died against him! What makes you think they'll do any better?
K's Grandma: Because they have you four this time…
(Jessica and Johnathan stare at each other in bewilderment)
(Renee is staring at a blank TV screen)
Renee: Where's the shows?
Shawn: Turn it on…
Renee: Oh… Yay! Barney's on!
(Everyone stares at her with a `what the heck' look, except for Hano *doesn't know what it is* and Karen's Grandma *finds it a good show for all ages when using brain washing purposes)
Renee: Erm… I mean… LOOK! IT'S A FLYING CRAB!

Elora: Where was it that you found it?
Karen: It was in a box! I don't remember which one!
Elora: Well you should!
Karen: I've only been in this house twice! I don't know where everything is!
Elora: You're no help!
(Karen is rummaging through a closet in the room and finds a door in the back of it)
Karen: Huh? A door?
(She opens it to find another room with no light except for a faint glow coming from the corner farthest away from her)
Karen: Hey, Elora, come here.
Elora: What is this?
Karen: I don't know… let's see if we can find a light switch or something….
(Before she can even take another step, the stones on the necklace begin to glow in sync with the other stone across the room and somehow manage to light up the room)
Elora: H-how did you do that?
Karen: I didn't do anything!
Elora: This is creepy… let's go back down stairs…
Karen: I can't move.
Elora: What?
Karen: Go get the others!
(Elora runs down the stairs as fast as she can)

Back with the others

(Elora comes flying through the doorway, her face is pale with fear)
Elora: Something's going on up there!
Jessica: What? By the way… where's Karen?
Elora: Karen's frozen! She can't move!
Jessica and Shawn: What?
Elora: We found a room up there, and after we walked in, she tried to leave and she couldn't!
(Elora, Shawn, Hano, and Jessica run upstairs, Karen's Grandma is making Renee and Johnathan look at photo albums of Karen's dad and aunt when they were little)
Shawn: Karen?
Karen: In here! I can't move!
(The four go into the room to find Karen and the glowing stones around her neck)
Karen: I'm scared, what's going on?
Hano: Shawn, you need to go in there!
Shawn: What? Why me!
Hano: The final stone is in there, only you and Karen together! (Pushing Shawn into the room next to Karen the force of the power holding Karen back lessens by half so she can at least move, half of the force was transferred to Shawn)
Shawn: Wha-?
Hano: Both of you! Get the stone!
Karen: Eh? Ok, I-I'll try…
(With much effort, Karen and Shawn begin to make their way across the room, the light begins to grow brighter, making them feel as though one more step will permanently blind them. Finally they make it to the other side, they finally get their first good look at the stone which caused this big dilemma. A brilliant pinkish orange stone is in the hilt of a sword, which has a coiling stone dragon wrapped around it.)
Karen: Huh… how are we supposed to get it out of there?
Shawn: I don't know.
Karen: We might as well try, I guess…
(Karen and Shawn reach forward to try to free the stone, the stone dragon cracks with every inch closer they move their hands. As the grip it, the dragon shatters and the pieces somehow manage to absorbing into their hands.)
Shawn: Aggh!
Karen: Ah! It hurts!
Shawn: I can't l-let go!
Karen: Neither can I!
(Soon the pain stops and they are able to let go. And just when they think the strangest part is over, the stone flies out of the sword and attaches itself to the rest of the necklace, and the sword flies off of the wall and into Shawn's hands)
