" What do you mean we're lost!" Akina yelled at the top of her lungs.
" Calm down," Ryuu said turning around to look at her.
" How do you expect me to be calm, Jerk!" she yelled back.
" DON'T CALL ME JERK!" Ryuu yelled as he flailed his arms.
Everyone who was in the area could hear them yell profanities to each other, until a loud poundingsound was heard throughout the forest. Ryuu was now on the ground with Akina pounding him from above. Ryuu then stopped her with an arm and sat up straight to listen to a strange sound. Akina heard it and sniffed the air to pick up the scent. Ryuu picked up the scent and grabbed hold of Akina, and jumped up in the tallest tree. Akina slapped him before he could put her down.
" What was that for?" he asked.
Just at that moment a giant snake slithered beneath them. Akina watched as she clutched onto the tree trunk. Ryuu stood beside her as his eyes glowed, he was ready to strike if the snake demon saw them. Akina shivered, she hated reptiles, especially snakes. Once the demon was out of sight they both came down from the tree.
" Was that a demon?" Akina asked as she rubbed her arms.
" Yes, and that was just a minor demon, those kind of demons kill anything for food," he told her.
Akina nodded and looked around her, the was setting, she then noticed a cave and tapped Ryuu on the shoulder to show him. He nodded and so they set camp inside the cave. Akina sat with her knees high, while Ryuu made the fire.
" Why did my grand-mother choose you to come with me?" she asked as she put her arms around her legs.
" I'm guessing it's because she knows I get bored at the dens, but honestly I think it was a mistake," he answered.
" You could have told her you didn't want to come you know," she said.
Ryuu just looked at her the back down at the crackling fire, she glared at him for a moment and then decided she should drop it. She reached into her bag and took out her sleeping bag, and a small pillow.
" I didn't say 'no' because I had to get out of there," Ryuu whispered as Akina was setting down.
She looked at him and laid down, while he leaned over on the cave wall and closed his eyes. Akina stretched and closed her eyes, she listened to the small crackling and smiled. She quickly fell into a deep sleep.
When Akina wokeup the next morning Ryuu wasn't in the cave with her. She shrugged and decided she should change shirts. She searched in her bag and took out a similar shirt like the one she already had on, only that her new shirt was a light blue instead of white. She took the white shirt off, the she suddenly heard a sound and turned to see what it was.
" You PERVERT!" she screamed when she saw Ryuu staring at her chest.
" How was I supossed to know you were changing!" he yelled back with a blush.
" Turn around!" she yelled covering her breats with her arms.
Ryuu did as he was told and blushed deep red, why didn't they get along, her grand-mother wasn't like Akina at all. He suddenly was hit by a fist on the back of his head. He groaned and turned around to see the angry Akina, who was ready to leave. He groaned and grabbed her backpack, she stared at him and the walked out of the cave. Ryuu sighed and followed her, Akina was such a pain, he wondered why he came and why he hadn't refused.
They walked side by side, Akina looked around, she had never seen anything like the beauty she was looking at right now. Ryuu watched her and blushed as images, of what had happened that morning, appeared in his mind. Akina suddenly turned and glared at him when she realized that his scent was familiar.
" What are you looking at?" Ryuu asked when he saw her glare at him.
" You're the one who has been following me in my time!" Akina replied crossing her arms.
" What are you talking about?" he asked as he stopped walking.
" In my time, there's a tiger demon that keeps following me, and you have the exact same scent he does, so it has to be you," she said still staring at him.
He looked at her and shrugged, she sighed and they continued their way through the thick woods. When they reached a clearing they saw a man standing by a small spring. Ryuu place an arm in front of Akina so she would stop walking. The man turned around and looked straight into Akina's eyes and grinned. Ryuu growled and pushed Akina behind him, he didn't like that man, especially that he had no odor and no demonic aura, this was not good at all.
The man walked towards Akina and Ryuu, his face had no emotion, he only grinned as he continued his was, ignoring Ryuu's growling. Akina stared at the white haired man , his red eyes were hypnotic. Her eyes started to close, just when the man was standing in front of Ryuu. Ryuu's claws grew longer and he took a stab at the strange man. Suddenly Akina's eyes grew wide open and she saw the Ryuu's hand was full of blood and it trickled down on the ground. She gasped at the sight in front of her, the was no longer a man, but a slayed demon. Ryuu had ripped it to pieces, she put her hands on his shoulders, and he turned to look at her.
" Thank you," she said softly realizing he just saved her life again.
For the first time Akina saw him smile at her, she blushed lightly and looked at the ground. They continued to walk until the sun started to set again. The searched for a cave, but when they couldn't find one, they decided to set up camp underneath a large tree. The sat silently as the fire crackled, Akina stretched and laid down to sleep. Ryuu had been silent since he had killed that weird demon, he wondered how it was able to hide it's scent and demonic aura. He shrugged and threw the last twig into the fire and leaned against the tree. He slowly closed his eyes and fell into a lighter sleep then the night before.
