Fan Fiction ❯ Fallen Angel ❯ Oninawa Ragnarok... ( Chapter 13 )
Okay, well, this sucks. I'm thinking of starting a new story (another original) but I can't think of a good title for it, and if you hadn't noticed by these chapter names, I suck at titles!!! Anyways, on with business:
…wait, I have no other business. *shrugs* Oh, well…I'll get right to typing this chapter then! -^_^-

Amy sat up suddenly in bed. She bit her bottom lip as she continued to dwell on her recent thoughts. `What am I going to do,' she thought worriedly. `What will I do?'
She got out of bed and made her way through the house and toward the kitchen. There, sitting at the island bar, was Kage, shuffling a deck of cards. Amy walked past her and to the cabinets where the glasses were kept. She grabbed one and filled it with tap water before sitting down across from Kage.
"Care to play, Lady Amy," Kage asked, never taking her eyes off of Amy as she continued to shuffle.
Amy sighed. "Sure, deal me in," she said glumly.
As Kage dealt the cards, she stared intently at Amy. `The best way to get Mitsukai is to start the attack at his heart,' she thought, picking up her cards and watching as Amy did the same. `This little woman-child will have to be the first to go.'
"I call," Kage stated suddenly.
They both placed their hands on the table.
"What the -- ?!"
Amy had a royal flush while Kage only had a full-house.
Kage huffed irritably as she took up the cards and began to shuffle again, watching as Amy reached into her pocket and took out the bracelet from Mitsukai's library. She ran her fingers over the smooth metal of the dragon pendant, looking over it as it gleamed in the light from the windows.
"Where did you get tha - "
Kage stood up and looked toward the door as someone knocked, completely forgetting her question as she walked over to see who it was. `No one ever knocks on his door,' she thought as she opened it to reveal a young, human man.
"Hi," he said kindly. "Is Mitsukai here?"
"To whom am I currently speaking," Kage asked rudely, shielding the inside of the house from his view.
"I'm his friend, Kyuuban," the man said. "Is he here?"
Kage shrugged as she looked behind her to find Amy standing in the living room. "He's probably lurking around here somewhere. Feel free to come in while I look for him," she said, stepping out of his way.
As Kyuuban stepped inside he looked at Kage with a smile. "You must be Kage," he said.
Her eyes widened as she nodded. "How did you know?"
"I've heard a lot about you," he said, moving his gaze to rest on Amy.
Kage glared coldly at him before walking down the hallway and toward Mitsukai's room. `Something isn't right with him,' she thought suspiciously.
After Kage was out of sight Kyuuban walked over to Amy. "And who might you be?"
"My name's Amy Yuri," she replied, reaching out her hand to shake his.
He took her hand in his and gently shook. "I am Kyuuban Kouyuu. It is an honor to meet you."
Amy took her hand back and tried to take a step back, but Kyuuban gently shoved her into the wall, placing his hands on either side of her to trap her there.
"So," he purred, "Mitsukai finally found you."
"What are you talking about," Amy squeaked, her brain not quite registering what he was saying as she flinched away from his hand on her cheek.
"The almighty woman-child," he continued, "the one being to save all of humanity and destroy demon-kind." He paused, looking at her intently. "Or destroy humans and leave the world open for demons to rule." He brushed his fingertips along her jaw-line again. "No one knew that you would be such a beauty," he laughed.
"Get away from me," she said, trying to push him back with her hands.
He just laughed harder. "But you are so weak right now," he purred, "so vulnerable."
Kyuuban grabbed her by the neck, keeping his left hand on the wall behind her. She began to panic as he increased the pressure on her throat, starting to cut off her air supply. Her sight started to darken as she slipped into unconsciousness.
"Kyuuban," Mitsukai yelled as he emerged from the hallway.
Kyuuban whirled around, changing shape before he was turned around completely. Amy dropped to the ground, groggily staring up at the demon in front of her. Kyuuban had shape shifted into a tall, lean demon with sky-blue hair and razor-sharp claws. His ears were pointed, but she couldn't see anymore of his face, because he was facing the other direction.
Mitsukai's eyes widened as he stared at the newly transformed Kyuuban.
"You," he hissed, "I thought you were dead."
"Oh, but, as you can see, I'm alive and well," Kyuuban said, taking a step toward Mitsukai. "You should be sure of the kill before leaving it behind."
"You weren't breathing," Mitsukai yelled back. "You weren't breathing and you're heart had stopped! Even if you weren't dead then, you would have died of blood loss within a matter of minutes!"
"But my burning desire to destroy you kept me alive," he hissed back. "Whenever I thought of just dying right there, I thought of the pleasure of seeing you bow before me, blood gushing from your body. I thought of you begging for your li - "
"Stop it," Amy yelled, breaking out of her stupor and standing up. "Just stop it!"
Kyuuban spun around to face her, glaring at her as she made her way past him and toward Mitsukai.
"I don't know who you really are, but I'm sure you deserved whatever you got," she whispered as Mitsukai stepped in front of her. "Mitsukai has a kind soul," she continued, her voice strengthening with each word, "and he wouldn't meaninglessly kill anyone! I'm positive that you did something to warrant an attack from him!"
"My clan did no such thing," he yelled at her. "And as for whom I really am: my true name is Oninawa Ragnarok."
"Get out of my house, Ragnarok," Mitsukai growled through clenched teeth. "You have no business here."
"Oh, but I do, dear demon lord; I do," Ragnarok purred. "I'm just here for her," he said, pointing toward Amy.
Mitsukai stretched his arm to the side as if to create a larger barrier between Amy and Ragnarok. He spread his legs, getting lower to the ground and into a defensive position.
"I'm giving you one last chance to let this grudge go and leave now," Mitsukai growled at him.
"Never," Ragnarok yelled as he lunged toward the trio.
Mitsukai shoved Amy to the ground and out of the way with barely enough time to get himself away from Ragnarok's poised claws.
"You die today, Hotogoroshi!"
"You'll have to do better than that to do me in," Mitsukai yelled back, rolling out of the way of another wild swing.
They took off toward the dojo. `We need more space to maneuver,' Mitsukai thought as he ran onto the practice field. Just as he turned around, Ragnarok was in the air, coming down at him fast. Mitsukai spread his wings, using them to give him an extra boost of speed to get out of the way. Ragnarok pulled his claws out of the ground and whipped around to find Mitsukai standing in an offensive position a few yards away.
He ran toward the ready demon, his claws again ready to strike just as Mitsukai leaped into the air. He snapped his wings open as far as they could stretch, hardening each feather into a sharp, metal dagger. Spinning around in mid-air, Mitsukai ripped off several metal feathers, throwing them at Ragnarok as he launched more straight from his wings.
Miraculously, Ragnarok was able to dodge most of them, but was hit once or twice in his left shoulder. He quickly yanked out the metal feathers just as Mitsukai landed, his wings bleeding profusely.
"This ends now!"
Ragnarok charged a lightening ball between his hands, smirking as he watched Mitsukai groggily move into a defensive position. His head spun from the loss of blood as he tried to comprehend what Ragnarok was doing. Just as his vision cleared, Ragnarok launched the lightening ball at him. Mitsukai began to move, but was too late and his left shoulder and wing were clipped by the ball of electric charge.
He fell to the ground, bleeding freely from his many wounds as Ragnarok made his way over. He loomed over Mitsukai bleeding form, but before he could finish him off, he was engulfed in a blinding, white light.
"What is this," he yelled, spinning around after his sight came back.
Amy stood there, her hands glowing the same bright, white light as she glared at him rebelliously.
"Get away from him, Ragnarok," she growled out.
He chuckled lightly at her. "And you mean to stop me?"
"Yes," she hissed, raising her hands toward him.
The white light engulfed the practice field again. When it cleared, Ragnarok was nowhere to be seen. She ran over to Mitsukai, helping him to sit up as she looked over his wounds. His shoulder was barely clipped by the energy, but his wing was torn half-way off. Both wings were bleeding from wounds that were self-inflicted from when he used his feathers as weapons.
"We need to get you inside and bandaged up," Amy whispered softly to him.
Mitsukai didn't say anything, but stood up, gently pushing her away from him. He walked inside, never looking back as Amy and Kage followed him. Once inside, Mitsukai collapsed on the couch, cradling his torn wing in his arms as he drifted into unconsciousness.
