Chiave smirked. Croix should have gotten his mail by now. Perhaps he would stop looking. He had tried to call, and that meant he was. He hadn't tried to call since. That could be a good thing. She sighed as she walked along the extravagant hallways of one of her many mansions. She had an interview. A boring interview. Of course! She had the final violet type though! She wanted so badly to tell everyone, but then... Croix.

Her fingers curled into a fist. Damn him! She would have so much more fame if she could announce it, but she couldn't! Not if she didn't want him to start spreading rumors. That bastard would probably start right away. She growled as she stalked into her `interview' room. Time for the interview.

Croix closed his eyes. He couldn't concentrate. Damnit, he couldn't concentrate on anything! He threw the neat folder across the room. It spewed organized papers every which way. He stood and picked up the chair he had been sitting on, hurling it across the room to meet the folder's demise.

"DAMNIT!" he swore, looking at the mess he had just created. He left the room, slamming the door behind him. He slowly made his way down the hallway, clenching and unclenching his fists.

Seks blinked a few times. Those violet breeds were prancing around him again, laughing and giggling and playing. He couldn't help but think they were a tad foolish. He didn't want to be here. He stood slowly, his body aching. He couldn't remember what had happened, and he didn't know why his body hurt so much.

He slowly walked around the room, inspecting every wall. The other violet breeds watched him, but every time they approached, he snarled and hissed. They finally stopped going near him. He could still tell they were watching him though. He pressed against the walls and howled in despair.

I want out! Let me out! Please... please let me out! Get me out of here! Where are you Croix! Save me...

He pounded his fists against the walls, the whole room shaking from his power and his screams. He roared in anger, his tail and ears twitching ferociously. He heard whimpers and sobs from the other violet breeds. He ignored them, pounding harder on the walls until his fingers ached. He tipped his head back and screamed, veins pulsing from his neck in pure fury. His teeth glinted dangerously in the dim light, daring someone to come stop him.

The door slammed open, and a man with a long pole walked in. He closed the door after a few more men followed him inside. They slowly approached Seks. Seks whirled around to face them, snarling. His muscles twitched and flexed, taut golden skin agitated by the presence of these humans who were keeping him captive.

His pupils narrowed to slits and he roared again, showing off his long canines. Without warning, he leapt forward, bowling over one of the men. He activated his weapon, and electricity surged through Seks' body. He screamed and backed away, writhing with agony. The other men came over, hitting and whacking him with the sticks.

He shrieked in anger, extending his wings as wide as he could. He flapped them hard, the thick bone and muscle slamming into the men. They flew into the air, and Seks wasted no time. He jumped into a crouching position, pushing hard to propel himself into the air. He grabbed hold of one of the unlucky men, ripping and tearing into the flesh with his fangs and claws. The man had not even enough time to scream. Seks' pupils dilated and he prepared himself to land. The man fell to the ground with a splattering thud.

He snarled at the other three men. They backed away. One of them touched his ear, listening to someone or something. They started forward, running at him. He grinned, his chest heaving from exhilaration. He flexed slightly, his tail twitching back and forth in play mode. He grinned and dodged the men's sloppy attacks.

He gasped as he felt the familiar sting of the electricity. He grabbed the man as he tried to regain his balance. He screamed and wiggled like mad. That was until Seks dragged his claws through the mans' body. The man instantly went silent, and limp. Seks growled loudly, daring the other men to come at him.

They ran. Seks dropped the man and gasped for breath, falling to his knees. He held his head in his hands crying softly. He liked killing. He liked it a lot. He just didn't want... to kill them. They weren't... who he wanted to kill. He wanted out. He let his hands muffle his screams and sobs as he finally fell asleep.

Chiave sighed. This man was clearly an idiot. Asking her questions that any other magazine or interview would have told him. Wasting her time and his own, not that he had any important time to waste like she did. She plastered a false smile on her face, praying that he would hurry up and get over with it.

When he didn't, and asked her yet another stupid question she had to do something before she went nuts. She raised a hand to stop him and then coughed daintily. A servant came over and handed her a glass of water. She drank and then set it down. The servant carried it away.

"Mr. Robinman---"

"Robinson... Miss Sleutel..."

"Whatever. This has been completely wonderful. I'm afraid I must go now though. I have pressing matters to attend to, and this has gone on far too long already."

"But ma'am..."

"Please, feel free to take a few pictures, have them for your magazine... I must go... do my... um, stuff."

She stood swiftly, walking away to the door. She heard him stand and she turned to perhaps, pose for a camera. Instead, there was a gun pointing right at her face. Her eyes widened, and she backed away.

"Don't move." he said in a cold voice. He no longer seemed like a young novice reporter. He seemed dangerous, much too old for his looks, and very serious.

"Wh-What do you want?!" she gasped, trying desperately not to faint.

"Don't do anything stupid. Get down on the floor, and don't move."

"What the hell is this? A bank-robbery?!" Chiave snarled.

She waved her hand and lasers fired from every direction, aimed right at the man. His scream was muffled by blood as he gurgled sickly. It slowly overflowed his mouth, dripping to the ground. His body fell with a dull thud and Chiave smirked. His eyes rolled to the back of his head and the gun fell from his lifeless hand.

Chiave smiled pleasantly as she walked to him, stepping over his body. She picked up the gun and then fired at his head. She was pleased with the disgusting splattering sound and the blood that flew everywhere. She then dropped the gun, walking from the room to go get clean.

Croix looked up at the ceiling. It seemed to be mocking him. The white plaster, smooth and clean and perfect. It was laughing at him, he just knew it. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see it. It reminded him of the pale skin of his pet. Well, what used to be his pet. Now he had run away.

He rolled over, willing the pillows to snuff his breath out. He couldn't do it though, and finally pulled his head up gasping for the air he had denied himself. He stared at the smoothness of his pillow. He studied the faint patterns of light blue flowers. They reminded him of his hybrid!

WHY?!

He let his head fall back into the pillow, staring at the darkness of the pillowcase on his eyes. He glared at the darkness. If he could say it was the dark that took his pet... No. It was all him. He watched the darkness a while until he had to come up for air again. Croix stretched his arms to touch the headboard and let his head fall back into the darkness of his pillow.

Damn.

Chiave sighed and pulled the zipper to her dress down. She let the material fall to the floor, pooling around her feet. She kicked it back behind her and walked forward, continuing to strip as she did. She made her way into her private bathroom and smiled, pleased to see that her servants had prepared a bath for her.

She slid into the warm water, smiling as it enveloped her body. She ran fingers over her smooth skin, giggling as sensations tickled and aroused her. She sighed and motioned her hand. Three hybrid servants stepped forward and began washing her. She listened to one of them humming softly.

She waved a hand in the air and the hybrid hummed louder, washing every inch of her body gently, delicately, full of worship. She frowned, slapping the hybrid. The hybrid recoiled in horror, desperately trying to find out what she did wrong.

"Different tune." Chiave said in a sultry voice.

The hybrid immediately started a different tune, continuing to wash her master. The other two hybrids joined in the humming, making a lovely trio. Chiave let her eyes drift shut, and she purred as if she were a cat.

"Good. I am done now."

The three helped her out of the tub and handed her towels. They helped dry her off and then dressed her. She left the room without looking back, ready for perhaps a nap and then something to eat.

Seks woke, his vision blurry. He looked around a moment. Those idiot violet breeds were prancing around him. They giggled and laughed. One of them bent down and kissed him on the lips. He felt something tingly as his lips touched the other ones'. He gasped as he tried to sit up and couldn't. He was tied down. They waggled their fingers at him.

"No, no, no!" one of them said in a singsong voice. She purred as she came near him. He snarled, disliking her smell.

"Yes, you need to be better." cooed another.

"Let me free!" Seks demanded.

"No, no, no!" they all chorused.

Seks struggled as one of them approached him. He couldn't move! He felt a stinging pinch as a needle slipped through his skin. He suddenly felt very drunk and disoriented. He struggled weakly for a moment until he couldn't move at all.

"See, you are Chiave's, and hers only." one of them said. His vision was dark now, and he could only hear bubbly voices. It was very disconcerting.

"Yes, and now all you will remember is pleasing her..." came another voice.

"And you will do everything she says and wants..." came the first voice.

"Just like we do." came the last.

The last thing Seks heard was the crazy giggling of the five other violet breeds. Then, he didn't remember anything else.

Croix rubbed his cheek against the smooth coolness of the fabric, sighing deeply. He turned his head to one side and stared across the room and through the window. It was getting late. Almost night now. He could see the darkness spreading across the sky like a big blanket smothering the light.

And then the light will pour through as the stars, until enough of them come to grow large and big to tear open the darkness so the sun may shine again...

He closed his eyes, pretending that the wetness on his cheeks wasn't really there. No one could make him stop pretending. But even pretending didn't bring his pet back. And lying here like a lazy bum wouldn't either. He slowly mustered the energy to push his body up.

He stared at the sheets, watching the ripples and wrinkles of silky white. It reminded him of his pet's beautiful hair. He closed his eyes and shook his head in disgust. He sounded like a woman, pining over her lost love. It was sickening. He rolled over and climbed off the bed, standing up straight.

He stared forward into the mirror, almost imagining it was his pet. Golden eyes framed by pale skin and long silver hair stared at him. They glinted in the dying light. A small smile came over the reflection's face, and then he turned. He looked over his shoulder with a wink, his long hair covering him like a cape. He beckoned Croix forward with a crooked finger, still smiling.

Croix blinked, and the reflection returned to his own. He stared hard at himself. "I will find you..." he whispered. "That's a promise..."

Hundreds of miles away, Seks woke with a shiver. A shiver of anticipation. Golden eyes slitted dangerously and claws extended. He swished his tail back and forth, his wings quivering in delight. His ears flicked back and forth as if to hear non-existent sounds. He grinned, teeth glinting in the moonlight that filtered in through tiny cracks at the top of the wall near the ceiling.

"Come find me `Master' Croix... I'm waiting."

You don't want to keep mewaiting...
