Fan Fiction ❯ Hybrid Genesis -God Legacy Saga- ❯ Wake Me Up ( Chapter 8 )
Wake Me Up
The long hiatus type thing was because I was sick again. Really sick. I found a tape recorder and when I could actually speak, I did some brainstorming... As usual, I can promise only weirdness, because that is what I do. Thank you and good night.

Tiara: You're stupid. You said good night. It isn't even night! *walks out to get food*
Chaos: ... Are all my muses coming here to make fun of me right now?

Tiara: *comes back in with a salad* Where'd whositsname go?
Chaos: I heard that!
Duo Maxwell: *shuts door, locks it; yells through the door* Now you can't!
Chaos *snickers* Oh yes I can, ye of loud mouth!
Relena Peacecraft: *sitting in the room* Heero... No, that doesn't sound right. HEERO!!! Mm, no...
Duo Maxwell: OH GOD! WHY IS SHE HERE?!
Chaos: *laughing in another room far, far away; turns screen off*

Stixx stood on the small grassy hill and stared at the stars above. He made a flicking motion with his wrist and the stars disappeared and the sky grew bright with the sun. He murmured something to himself and the stars came back. He sat down on the grass and snapped his fingers. A brilliant show of fireworks lit up the dark sky. He closed his eyes and leaned back, the sun coming through the false darkness again.
He let the wind drift by, carrying along the scent of fresh blood. Stixx opened his eyes and looked at his wrist. It was bleeding. He looked up. Yumy sat on a large stone cross. She crossed her legs, letting more of her lovely pale skin show. Stixx didn't seem interested. He closed his eyes again. He smelled more blood, even more prominent than before. He felt his other wrist bleeding. He opened his eyes and glared at Yumy.
"What do you want?"
Yumy smirked. "Was wondering when you'd ask. I got a new toy from our lovely master."
Stixx growled. "Oh? No punishment for me?"
"There is." Yumy said with a smile. "He wants to see you right now."
Stixx didn't bother to get up. He laid there a few more moments before his body began to be engulfed in a misty smoke. Then his body disappeared, leaving only a smoky imprint of where he once was. Yumy coughed in the smoke, waving her hands in front of her face to clear the air.
//Damn, and he didn't even ask me about my toy!//
"Stixx is here." the young hybrid said with a bow, then promptly disappearing. Stixx opened the door and sauntered in. He took a few unsteady steps forward before almost falling into a chair. He raised an eyebrow at the masked figure that sat in the chair before him.
"You wanted me, sir?" he asked.
"Don't pretend to be happy Stixx." the figure said in his deep voice. "I notice that you destroyed my pet, Eon."
Stixx laughed harshly. "Oh what is it to you? We're all just your damn pets." He closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair as if he were relaxed.
The masked figure smiled warmly. "It is alright. I would have done it myself soon enough."
Stixx's eyes opened and the maroon color bled into the dangerous red. "What?" he asked stiffly.
"Oh yes. He was starting to show... Feelings."
Stixx stood up furiously, slamming his fists on the desk. The masked figure in the chair did not seem fazed the least bit by this sudden display of violent anger. "FEELINGS?!"
"Yes, I said that. Feelings."
"F-F-F... I can't believe you would do that..."
The man smiled and waved a hand absently. "Stixx. I need you to speak to your... partner... who will be... joining... you. Tenris..."
Stixx practically exploded with anger. "You know I do not work well with others!"
"This, is for your own good..." the man promised, dismissing Stixx by disappearing from where he sat.
Stixx snarled. //This must be my punishment. God damnit he is such a sadistic bastard...//
Dorothy gasped as the light subsided. Spots appeared before her eyes and it took her a few minutes of sitting there in despair before she could see once again. She immediately looked for Seks, but he was nowhere to be seen. She stood quickly and searched frantically. She was almost crying in desperation when someone grabbed her from behind and she remembered nothing else but something that smelled quite sweet.
//Wake me up...//
Seks blinked in confusion, trying to think of what was going on, where he was, and WHO THE HELL WAS THAT?! A naked man was leaning over him. After a second of staring, he scrambled away from the man. An equally naked woman walked over to them, and looked at him curiously.
"Who are you?" Seks asked.
The woman smiled pleasantly. "I am Embla. He is Aske."
Seks stared at them warily. "Where am I?"
"Midgard of course." Embla said.
"Where is that?"
Embla looked at Aske curiously, and he did the same to her. "I do not know what you mean by that."
//I must still be in the game...// Seks stood and thanked the characters, though they seemed quite ready to stick by him for a while. "I have to find out where I am..." Seks murmured, feeling sort of sick.
He stumbled forward, feeling tired now as well as sick. The world seemed to spin beneath his feet, and he feel to his hands and knees coughing. His head began to ache and his stomach seemed to be in knots. And then all the pain and sickness seemed to disappear. He managed to look up and saw that he was in the middle of a village. Someone was walking towards him.
The person was a man with long violet/black hair and the same colored eyes. He knelt besides Seks. "Are you alright?" he asked.
"I'm fine..." Seks murmured.
"Are you sure?" the stranger asked. Two ravens flittered down from the sky and landed on his shoulders. He spoke to them in a hushed voice, calling them Hugin and Munin. Seks could have sworn the birds spoke back.
"You speak... To birds?" Seks asked curiously.
The man blushed, and the two ravens flew away. "No, they're just pets of mine."
//Pets...//
Tenris watched Stixx pace back and forth with his sharp eyes. Every once and a while he licked his lips and shifted silently. He had short messy silver hair and different colored eyes. One was a dark brown and the other was almost white, tinged with blue. When Stixx whirled to snarl at him, he plastered on a wolfish grin. Stixx made an enraged face then turned back around and resumed his pacing.
"I figure I should say something right now." Tenris said with a little snicker.
"Fuck you Mr. `Tenris'. I don't work with anyone; not Madi, not you, and not anyone else!"
Tenris just smiled. He didn't seem worried the least bit that Stixx was on a war path. He put his hands in his pockets and leaned against a desk, watching Stixx pace again. A silly smile came over his face and he tipped his head back a little, keeping his gaze on the annoyed hybrid.
"You wanted to work with Eon, but Eon wouldn't work with you. Therefore, you hated him for it. And, turns out you even killed him, even though... Hmm, you loved him? Curious. But the killing thing... Fellow hybrids should not do that to one another..." Tenris started to say.
Stixx grabbed Tenris' shirt and lifted him into the air. Tenris probably should have been scared, but he wasn't. "What did you say...?" Stixx growled.
"What do you mean? I figured I should tell the truth, and pretending I don't know wouldn't help either of us."
Stixx traced a cold finger over Tenris' cheek, watching as blood rushed to the surface. Tenris still kept his strange lopsided smile, and Stixx shoved him backwards, whirling about and disappearing into thin air. Tenris sighed as he extricated himself from a pile of papers. He waved a hand and they fixed themselves. He then disappeared as well, going to find Stixx.
//So foolish...!//
The man with the ravens was a little concerned when Seks' eyes glazed over. He seemed to be looking at something that wasn't there. Then Seks let out an uncomfortable moan and closed his eyes. The man lifted Seks up, not even staggering at the enormous weight of his burden. He carried the winged hybrid down the street and into a small shack.
A few hours passed, but Seks remained unconscious. When he woke, the strange man wasn't there. Seks sat up and blinked a few times. He was lying on a bed of straw, but over him were silk sheets. He pushed the sheets aside and moved from the strange bed. He now stood on plush red carpet. He stopped a moment, trying to figure out... Well, everything.
"Where am I?" he asked himself.
Five huge stone pillars reached to the sky above. There was no roof. He walked down the carpeted stairs, and stopped after a few more feet. All around him was crystal clear water that stretched for miles and miles. He scratched his head, trying to find some kind of logic in all of this.
"This isn't possible..."
Birds of all kinds flew overhead, carrying long shiny banners that swirled in the wind. Large fish leapt from the water, splashing the cold water all over creating ripples in the water. Seks slowly walked forward into the water. His tail bushed out angrily, protesting the freezing temperature and his ears flattened against his head. His wings however fluttered happily.
After a while, his tail was submerged in the water, and it relaxed. He kept walking into the water, his skin twitching every once in a while. Finally his wings went under, and he took a deep breath before submerging his head as well. He swam around for a little bit before coming up for air.
Above his head, lightning cut through the strangely dark sky. It had grown dark in a split second. The clouds swirled in circles, being pulled in by a mysterious force. Seks stared at it a moment, watching it in fascination before large waves began appearing all around him. He dove underwater and swam as fast as he could towards the little island like area, hoping he would make it.
//What's going on now?!//
Chance's body floated in darkness. His mind was completely relaxed. He felt like he was floating on a cloud. It was very comfortable. So comfortable he wanted to know where he was. He opened his eyes to see a piercing gaze of eyes the color of shining ice. He tried to back away, but found he had no footing at all and remained exactly where he was.
The eyes belonged to a human-like creature. The stranger did not seem amused by Chance's reaction. The figure had long golden hair the color of the brilliant sun. He was tall and had burning wings made of flames that were spread far behind him, spanning the great darkness and lighting it with their unearthly glow.
Chance struggled to find his voice. "W-Who are you?" he asked.
The stranger did not respond, but moved his mouth as if speaking. Chance wondered if he was having some sort of problem because he could not hear what this very beautiful stranger was saying. He leaned closer as if to hear the faintest whisper that perhaps might have come from the lovely mouth. Still, he could hear nothing and it frustrated him.
"W-Well, I'm Chance." he said. "It's nice to... Meet you. Do... You know where I am?" The stranger again did not speak aloud but moved his lips as if to answer. "I... Can't hear you..." Chance said, hoping the stranger would now speak.
He longed to hear the voice, even though he had no idea what it would sound like. He was sure it had to be as enchanting as the beauty he saw in front of him. It was driving him mad. Still the stranger did not or could not speak, and Chance felt like giving up. He sat there looking around himself, but all he could see was the darkness. He felt like this was strangely familiar, but he could not place it.
The stranger smiled suddenly, and the sudden facial chance surprised Chance. He smiled back cautiously. The stranger held out a hand to him, and Chance slowly lifted his own. He watched as his hand seemed to move in slow motion towards the strangers' hand. The stranger lunged forward and grasped his hand.
Chance's eyes widened in surprise, but the stranger did not do anything else. He relaxed a little, but remained for the most part wary. Chance really wanted to ask `What are you doing?!', but did not want to offend the stranger, who seemed so very beautiful at the moment.
//Why...? Why do I think he is...? Why...? This is... This is so... So weird... I feel... I feel tired. No... I feel happy. I feel really happy. I'm... I'm happy... But why? Who is this guy? What is he... What does he want? What's going... Who am I? Why...?//
Chance stared at the stranger who was holding his hand. He felt so very strange indeed. He didn't seem to remember anything. He couldn't remember what his name was, or what he was, or where he was, or how he got there, or if he ever really knew where he was or how he got there... And he wasn't so sure who he was.
The stranger smiled strangely at him, and he felt his own lips curving into a smile to match. He leaned forward, tilting his head to the side in curiosity. Soft lips met his, and he closed his eyes in pleasure. He felt a strange tingling in his fingers, and he tried to pull his hands back. He felt too tired though, and too happy. He had no strength...
A brilliant flash of light erupted from a dark corner and Chance barely managed to hold back his shriek. It was Itoshii. He was relieved to see her for some reason, though after the momentary relief, he felt more confusion. Who was that again? He felt like he knew her from somewhere.
"Hello!" he called. "Why are you here?" Itoshii walked forwards towards Chance, but remained silent, as did the stranger who could not speak. "Why won't anyone talk to me?" Chance wailed. "What did I do that was so wrong?"
Itoshii smiled secretively and raised a finger to her lips as if to silence him. Chance did not feel that he had to be silent, but a strange sense of calm fell over him and he was quiet. Itoshii held out a hand to Chance. Chance stared at it a moment, feeling a strange sense of déjà vu. He lifted his hand tentatively, and took her hand. She smiled warmly at him and he felt the greatest urge to smile back, and he did.
She closed her eyes, looking positively peaceful and Chance felt a rush of peacefulness wash over him as well. And then, he closed his eyes...
//So peaceful...//
