Chapter 22: Conclusion of the Battle!

 

 

“Die now old man” said Nemesis as he saw the Dark Matter Blast head towards Tomoro.

 

All of a sudden Tomoro wakes up. He quickly stands up.

 

“I cannot block that nor avoid it from hitting the ground. Unless..” he thought.

 

Tomoro then ran away as fast as he could from the landing place.

 

Nemesis tries to steer it towards Tomoro.

 

“Light Ancient Technique: Light Chain!” yelled Tomoro as suddenly a small chain made of light appeared on his left hand.

 

He throws the chain towards the Dark Matter Blast. Incredibly the chain keeps extending itself. The chain surrounds the Dark Matter Blast and ties it up as it automatically moves around it.

 

“Impossible” said Nemesis surprised.

 

“I've got it!” said Tomoro.

 

He then began to spin the Dark Matter Blast as he held it with the Light Chain. He kept spinning and after a few spins he lets it go and throws it towards Nemesis.

 

“THAT SON OF A BITCH!” yelled Nemesis obviously angered.

 

Nemesis moves away from the path of the Dark Matter Blast. It barely passes a few inches away from him. The Dark Matter Blast arrives at the skies and suddenly it explodes. The impact wave turns the whole Capital into shadows as the blast explodes. Nothing can be seen as there is absolutely no light.

 

The explosion eventually clears out with no sight of Tomoro or Nemesis to be seen. Then from the green fields a huge rectangle made of purple energy rises.

 

“In the fields!” said Roshika as he watched it rise.

 

“Let's go!” said Sandou as he ran all on it's own towards it.

“Sandou wait!” said Temari but suddenly Amy follows him.

 

“Let's follow them” said Roshika as he grabbed Shozen.

 

Meanwhile inside that purple rectangle Tomoro and Nemesis looked at each other.

 

“Quite a force field you've put” said Tomoro.

 

“You also put quite some of your own energy into it.” said Nemesis.

 

“I know that the war stopped and many will come towards our fight. It's better if none of them are injured while they come here.” said Tomoro.

 

“I actually did it so no one entered and in case you escaped” said Nemesis with a smile.

 

“It looks like you don't know me that well... friend” said Tomoro.

 

“Then.. let's finish this battle once and for all” said Nemesis as he immediately ran towards Tomoro. But instead of going straight he suddenly jumps towards the left wall of the force field. He spins in mid-air and sets a kick ready. Tomoro crouches and evades the attack. Tomoro counters with a left upper punch which Nemesis evades by moving to the left. Nemesis moves away from Tomoro and stares at him.

 

“GRAND FIRE MAZE!” yelled Tomoro as from his hand he shot a huge blast of fire.

“That technique... falls short” said Nemesis. Nemesis evades the attack but suddenly the fire that was shot rebounds on the south wall of the force field.

 

“Crap!” said Nemesis as he saw the fire get close to him.

 

“WATERFALL!” said Nemesis.

 

He extended his arm and from them he shot a powerful blast of water that looked like a waterfall. That shut down the fire.

 

“This will be a giant pool” said Tomoro as he saw Nemesis kept shooting water even though the fire was shut down.

 

“Ground Raise and Level!” said Tomoro.

 

The ground beneath him was raised and leveled like an actual floor. Nemesis takes the lead in attacks once more as he begins another one.

 

“Fire Tornado!” yelled Nemesis as from above he shot what looked like a tornado made of fire.

 

Tomoro jumps towards the water as the attack hits the floor of ground he had made. The fire reacts with the water and begins to evaporate it creating a thick mist.

 

In that moment Sandou and Amy arrive.

 

“They are fighting inside that!” said Sandou.

 

“I know, but I don't see him. Theres a lot of mist” replied Amy.

 

Others arrived a bit later.

 

“So they are fighting there” said Roshika. Slowly, Numbus fighters arrived and stared at the fight, and so did people and Capital soldiers.

 

“Ice Spikes!” yelled Tomoro from inside.

 

The mist suddenly became spikes made of ice shot towards Nemesis.

 

“You are shooting at no one!” said Nemesis as he appeared behind Tomoro. Tomoro turns but receives a kick in the face. Then a left punch followed by a right hook to the chin. Tomoro falls to the ground but counters with a kick straight to Nemesis's stomach. Tomoro swiftly gets up and hits Nemesis straight in the face with an upper punch. Nemesis moves away from Tomoro. Tomoro waves his hand and the mist begins to be sucked out of the force field.

 

“That will get bothersome if I leave it there” thought Tomoro.

 

“What, can't see a thing?” asked Nemesis as the mist cleared out revealing his figure.

 

“The attack power has dropped quickly” said Tomoro.

“Yes, we are doing attacks meant for Rank 7-15 fighters. I guess we are a bit tired” said Nemesis as he smiled.

 

“I will just finish this the fastest way I know” said Nemesis as he opened his fists and extended his arms to the sides.

 

Tomoro closes his eyes.

 

“There is a lot of matter concentration inside that force field” said Roshika as he looked surprised at it. A while passed.

 

“Dark Seal: Odin's Death!” yelled Nemesis. He opens his palm and on it a ring with inscriptions written in dark appear.

 

Tomoro drew his sword.

“Light Seal: Gabriel's Eternal Punishment” said Tomoro as his sword began to glow in white and yellow inscriptions were marked on it. While unreadable to normal people it said: “Those with evil hearts who are touched by Gabriel shall receive Eternal Punishment and be sealed into the void forever”.

 

“Are you ready for your doom, Nemesis?” asked Tomoro.

 

“Come, show me it” said Nemesis with a serious look.

 

The ground began to shake as the two super powers stared at each other.

 

“Now, there shall only be one man ranked number one!” said Nemesis.

 

Outside the force field, people were beginning to worry and speak.

 

“Grandpa...” said Amy as she looked inside the field.

 

“Do not worry! Leader Tomoro is the strongest Numbus in the world. There is no way that man can defeat him” said Sandou.

 

Tomoro and Nemesis begin their attack running at each other. The tension grows higher every single second as they look at each other looking for a weak spot.

 

Tomoro does a diagonal slash, which by any means should not be avoided. Nemesis then targets Tomoro's chest. Grass moves to every side as suddenly an explosion marks the end of the battle. One layer of the force field gets shattered. The dust and smoke clear out and reveal the conclusion.

 

Nemesis's palm is right at Tomoro's chest. Tomoro's sword looked like it hit Nemesis by the middle, but still Nemesis was complete in one piece. The slash should have sliced him in two.

 

“I win...” whispered Nemesis as Tomoro's numb body fell to the ground.

 

“NO! GRANDPA!” yelled Amy.

 

“It was a clear hit!” said Roshika.

 

“Leader....” said Sandou as he fell to his knees.

 

“It cannot be” said Shana as tear fell over her chin.

 

“He could not have been defeated” said a shocked Nyosuke.

 

“Leader!” was heard from every side coming from Numbus.

 

“The Leader lost...” said Samari while she looked from away. “That can't be true..” said Nakaru. “He was hit” said Neiki as he let go a tear.

 

“Grandfather!” yelled Amy as she ran towards the force field, but was suddenly held by Roshika.

 

“No...” he said.

 

Suddenly Nemesis fell to his knees.

 

“WHAT!” he said as a burst of blood came from his mouth.

 

Then Tomoro spoke:

 

“I have erred. I forgot about the fact that you can become liquid. But still... the power of Gabriel's Punishment is huge, and at least some part of it got to you. You will suffer in pain for years until it's effects wane.”

 

“It.. it was too far away. I evaded the attack by inches, none of it should have gotten to me!” said Nemesis.

 

“Even if a bit got to you, you will suffer pain for moments. Sadly I could not take you completely with me, but at least for a few years you will suffer a pain that no men can bear for much. I will be surprised if you live out of it. Now my friend.. I will see you some day. For now... consider this... a draw, except I am gone now. But I swear, you will eventually die as well” said Tomoro.

 

“I swear... i swear.... that I will live out of it. It must end at some moment right? The effect was not complete. Only less than a 5% got to me” said Nemesis as he slowly stood up.

 

Then Tomoro looked at Amy.

 

“You will become the next Leader. I love you..” he said as he talked for the last time and closed his eyes for good.

 

“GRANDPA!!” yelled Amy as she fell to her knees.

 

Then the last layer of the force field began to shatter.

 

“We now have access. We can eliminate that guy while we can” said Roshika as he drew his sword.

 

The last pieces of the force shield fell down, leaving Nemesis open from any attack. Suddenly from the skies a mass of dark blobs fell towards Nemesis. The blobs took form revealing Kaworu and Ninfa.

 

Then the same blobs began to cover Nemesis and them.

 

“What is that” thought Roshika.

“I swear... i swear you will not be able to ever live in peace!” said Nemesis as the blob slowly covered him. Eventually he was covered and the blobs lifted from the ground towards the skies and disappeared.

 

“That was some mean of quick transportation” said Shozen as he looked, still being held by two soldiers.

 

Then Amy walked towards Tomoro's dead body. She walked slowly, raising her head and showing pride. She slowly grabbed Tomoro's body and tried to lift him from the ground. Roshika and other Numbus appeared and helped her. Rain suddenly began to fall.

 

“The greatest leader of Hi Go An... has fallen” said Roshika to the crowds. The Emperor of the Capital was watching and headed towards them.

 

“This man... a personal friend he was of me. Great, strong, honest with everyone. We shall grieve his lost for long. But his death was not in vain, as he died defending in what he believed was right. He died defending this great nation. We will forever remember him as the strongest Numbus to have ever walked on this war-ridden planet. We will forever love him” said the Emperor.
