Chapter 2: "What's that smell?"
They ended up at the hotel about 30 minutes later and got their things out of the cab. Checking in, they got their room keys and went to their separate rooms. (Ynh) took one step in and looked around with disgust. "What is that smell?" Summer said behind her with one hand over her nose.
Kelly and Krista came bursting in moments later screaming. "Oh my god!" They both shouted in unison. (Ynh) and Summer both turned around with concerned looks on their faces.
"What's the matter?!" Summer cried. "Are you guys okay?"
"There is a dead rat in our tub!" Kelly said shaking. Ever since Kelly was little she had a phobia of rats and the gang would always make fun of her and put rubber ones in her locker and bed back in high school. But this was not a time to laugh at her, this place was gross and (ynh) just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
"Come on, we're leaving!" (Ynh) shouted at the top of lungs grabbing her things. " I saw a condo a couple miles down by the ocean we can stay at. Hopefully they have an empty one. I have no intentions of staying here… EVER!" Summer checked out and even got her money back after making a scene at the front desk. Kelly finally flagged down a taxi and they were on to their way to their new, hopefully sanitary, destination.
"So, (Ynh), you never did tell us about your whole ride up in fist class, and this 'so called' hottie Jordan." Summer said enjoying the blush that came upon (ynh's) face. Kelly did her "Oo's and "Ah's" shortly after that was said.
"Yeah come on (ynh) you never did tell us about him." Krista said with a huge smirk on her face.
"I'll tell you later. Maybe once we get to the condo. I'm too tired to tell you right now. (Ynh) mumbled into Summer's shoulders half-asleep.
"Fine, you win!" Summer shouted, and pushed the drooling (ynh) off of her shirt with disgust. "Yucka!"
They finally arrived at the condo and stepped inside. It was a lot better looking than that nasty run-down hotel they first went to. It had a medium sized kitchen, a loft with a pull out couch, and TV with a dvd player. Down from the loft, to the right, there was a small room with bunk beds and the room was done in an aquatic theme. Next to that room was the bathroom, and in the hallway there was the washer and dryer. The living room was pretty big and had a large dining table behind one of the leather sofas. The last bedroom had one Queen sized bed with its own bathroom connected to it.
The porch had a door leading out to the deck, which had a killer view of the ocean. Down stairs was the bar and pool table along with another lounge area.
"Now aren't you glad we came here instead?" (Ynh) said gazing around with a big smile on her face.
"Hell yeah! Now lets pick our rooms!" Krista said excitedly.
1 hour and 4 sore throats later… "I want that room! It's not fair if you get that bathroom all to yourself!" Summer screamed at the top of her lungs. (Ynh) had Krista in a headlock fighting for the loft room. Kelly had enough of it though. "You guys!?" She started. "You guys, why don't we just put the rooms in a hat and draw for them. I'm hungry, tired, and I just want to unpack and take a nice hot shower." She finished off folding her arms on the table and putting her head on it.
"Fine!" (Ynh) said pouting. "And you guys?" Asked Kelly in a harsh whisper.
"I guess so." Krista said along with Summer. So Kelly wrote down the bedrooms marked 1. For loft, 2. For bunk beds, and 3. For the end room.
Everyone drew and Summer had a huge grin on her face. "I got the big room! I got the big room!" She stated and did her happy dance across the living room floor. (Ynh) also go the room she wanted. While Krista and Kelly were stuck in the bunk bed room.
After they finished unpacking they rented some movies and ordered out a pizza. During their second movie, Van Wilder, Summer asked (Ynh) about Jordan and why she was so happy that he gave her his phone number.
"Well," (Ynh) said with a blush coming to her cheeks, and proceeded to tell them her story starting from when she arrived in first class up until they got into the taxi. When she finished, the rest of the group just sat there with their mouths hanging open, until Krista burst out laughing. (Ynh) turned and glared daggers at her.
"There is NO way you sat next to Elijah Wood!" Krista said with a loud burst of laughter.
"Yeah," Summer said a bit more calmly. "I'm sorry dude, but that's just sort of impossible to believe. I mean, what's the chances of someone simple like you, no offense, meeting your all time favorite actor?" Summer finished with a look of curiosity on her face.
"I-uh…I know how to prove it to you!" (Ynh) said jumping to her feet and dashing to her room for her sweater. Moments later she returned waving a little slip of paper in the air.
"What's that?" asked Krista with curiosity getting up for a closer look. Kelly also got up to check it out.
"It's the phone number 'Elijah' supposedly gave her." Summer said sarcastically.
"For your information, it IS the number he gave me. Thank you very little. And right now I'll be proving that to you 3." (Ynh) said picking up the phone with a quivering hand. 'Come on (Ynh) you an do this. Just punch in his number and talk to him like you did on the plane. No big deal. Right?' she said mentally to herself.
"Are you going to do it or what?" Krista said getting impatient."
"Huh?" (Ynh) said coming back to reality. "Uh yeah." ' Here goes nothing' she thought and typed in his cell phone number. Putting it on loud speaker for everyone to hear, she waited for him to pick up.
"Seems as if your boy-toy isn't home." Summer said facing them from the living room."
(Ynh) just glared at her and sighed, ready to push the off button, when someone picked up.
"Hello?" Came a familiar male voice. (Ynh) didn't know what to say.
"Uh-Uh- He-Hey." (Ynh) stuttered into the phone. "What's up Elijah? You remember me right? From the plane?" She squeaked.
"Of course I remember, uh, Jennifer Lover Hewitt right?" Elijah chuckled on the other end. (Ynh)'s friends laughed to.
"Ha- fucking-ha."(Ynh) exclaimed with a lot of sarcasm.
"Hey? Am I on speakerphone or something? I'm hearing a lot of echoing coming from my phone." Elijah asked a bit confused.
"Uh, yeah. My friends wouldn't believe that I sat next to you on the plane and all, so I had to prove it to them." She smacked her forehead. 'God he must think I am such a loser now! He'll probably never want to talk to me ever again.' (Ynh) was in such a panic she didn't even realize Elijah yelling on the phone.
"Hello?! Helllooooo?!? Anyone there!?" Elijah yelled into the phone.
"(Ynh)! Elijah's talking to you! Are you deaf woman?!" Summer said hitting her with a pillow.
"Huh what?" (Ynh) said coming back from her daze. "OH SHIT!" She yelled covering her mouth finally remembering the certain someone on the phone. "I'm so sorry Elijah! I forgot all about you!"
"Gee thanks, I feel important." He chuckled on the other end. "It's okay. So where you guys at?"
"Well, we were suppose to stay at this hotel about 5 miles back." Summer started. "But the hotel was totally crap! It smelt bad and I found a dead rat in our tub!" Kelly added in, eyes wide and shuddering with the memory.
"So where are you staying now?" Elijah said after he finished laughing at Kelly.
" A condo by the ocean. It's really kicks ass!" (Ynh) said happily. Much better than that dump! Who knows what else was crawling in that place!"
" A condo huh? Would this happen to be a two-story condo? It has about 5 others by its side and is brick and creamish- orange colored?" Elijah asked suspicious with a smirk on his face.
"Yes, why?" (Ynh) asked wanting to know the reason behind his question.
"Well, me and my friends just rented one today. Needed to get away from the house for a bit you know? So it's Sean, Billy, Dom, and Orlando…and me of course." He finished with a chuckle. "But hey! I got to go now. So maybe we can hang out sometime? Maybe surf a bit or something?" Elijah asked hopefully. Really wanting to see her again.
"Uh sure, that sounds cool!" (Ynh) said shaking. She was going to hang out with Elijah Wood again! How cool is that?"
"Well, just call me then, and we'll make plans k?" He said happily… she had said yes.
"Yep!" see ya soon Elijah!" (Ynh) said hanging up the phone. "OMG! He is so cute!" (Ynh) screamed at the top of her lungs running around the house and jumping up and down.
"And can you believe my luck?!" Shouted summer. "Orli is there!! Can we say boo-ya baby!? Hell ya!" She shouted again getting up and joining (ynh) yelling and running around the house.
"Hey, wait!" (Ynh) said stopping in front of the door looking at it. "I have a plan."
"A plan?" Krista asked, kind of curious. "What sort of a plan?" Krista had always been the mischievous one, so this intriged her.
"I just thought that maybe we could…oh, ya know….'accidentally' attract their attention. There's no harm in that, is there?" (ynh) smiled an evil grin.
"And why would we want to do that?" Kelly was referring to her and Krista. "There's nothing in this for us!"
"What do you mean by that?" Summer asked.
"I mean, that you like Orlando, and (ynh) likes Elijah. So, what would we do after we play cupid?!" Kelly was starting to get an attitude. "Do you expect us to just sit back and watch you two FLIRT?!"
"Come on Kel, you know I didn't mean it like that." (ynh) said, trying not to Kelly's bad temper worse.
"Well that's certainly what it sounded like!" She finally snapped. Kelly was really irritable lately, since she had been stood up on a date with her boyfriend. Then came to find out that he had been cheating on her. (ynh) didn't see this as an excuse though, she had been dumped, and knew better than to take it out on her friends.
"You're right Kelly! I did mean it like that! I was thinking that after you hooked me and Summer up with Elijah and Orlando, that you could wait on us like slaves or something!" (ynh) had had enough of her bullshit. "That's what you wanted, right?!" Kelly felt a little guilty now.
"(ynh), I didn't say you….." she tried to make things better, but she knew that she had gone too far this time, and (ynh) wasn't going to listen to her anymore.
"You know what Kel?!" (ynh) screamed at the top of her lungs. "I don't give a FLYING-FUCK what you were trying to say!" (ynh) looked as though she were about to burst with anger. "I'm so sick of you stupid pity-trips! It's not mine or Summer's fault that you don't have a guy drooling over you every second of the god damned day!"
"Look…What I meant was…" the truth was that, Kelly didn't know what she really meant. She was trying to come up with an excuse, but once again (ynh) interrupted her.
"No! I don't want to hear it Kelly! In fact, I think it would be better if you found somewhere else to stay tonight! Maybe while you're gone you can think about how to treat your friends a little better!" (ynh) yelled so loud that her voice was a little hoarse. Kelly was now completely pissed off! She was trying to apologize and (ynh) just went off on her!
"Fine! I will find somewhere else to stay! This whole FUCKING trip was a joke! I can't believe that I thought I'd be able to stand you for three weeks!" Kelly was yelling now too.
"So what are you saying!?" (ynh) screamed even louder, if that's possible.
"Just forget it! I'm leaving!" Kelly decided it was better not to push it any further, she had already said some things she shouldn't have. She headed to her room to pack her things back up.
"That was really harsh (ynh)!" Krista, who had remained quiet until now, said. "You know that that wasn't what she was trying to say. Besides, she was trying to apologize to you. But I suppose you didn't hear that part because you were too busy flapping your wide mouth!" Now Krista was furious as well. Kelly was her best friend, and she wasn't about to sit back and let someone talk to her like that. Even if that someone happened to be her friend.
"If she goes, then I go!" Krista yelled. She didn't really want to go, but she had to do the right thing.
"Great! Go then! See if I care!" (ynh) felt guilty, but wouldn't let her guard now. Although she knew that she wouldn't have any fun if the rest of the gang wasn't there.
Ten minutes later, Kelly and Krista emerged from their room carrying their suitcases. (ynh) had already retreated to the porch, she wasn't sure who she was angrier with, Kelly or herself. 'Why did I blow up like that?' she thought to herself. 'I shouldn't have been so mean to her….but she didn't have any reason to assume that I wanted her to sit back and watch me and Summer!' (ynh) was confused, and needed time to cool off. Some time to be alone.
Meanwhile, Summer was trying to convince the others to stay. "PLEASE don't go you guys?! We can work this out, just calm down a bit!" Summer was desperately trying to stop them.
"Look Summer, I know you this isn't your fault, but maybe it would be better if we did get out of here for a while. At least until this whole thing blows over." Krista said.
"So, there's no way I can talk you out of this?" Summer asked, even though she already knew the answer.
"Nope…sorry." Kelly replied. And with that they headed out the door and into the taxi that just pulled up. 'I didn't think they would really go through with this.' Summer mumbled to herself. 'I just have to make the best of this vacation, and try not to let this bother me too much.' She thought. 'I better go and cheer (ynh) up, or at least try to.' So Summer mad her outside to find (ynh).
She found her right where she had expected, sitting in the giant cushioned chair on the porch. (ynh) had a look of deep thought and anxiety on her face. Summer sat down in the chair beside her. "so…what about that plan, huh?!" Summer asked, trying to make her smile.
"Look Summer, I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I really need to be alone right now." (ynh) replied, she tried her best not to hurt Summer's feelings as well. That would be all she needed!
"Oh, ok…I'll just… go inside then." She said in a confused and rejected voice.
"Sorry. I think I'm going to go for a walk or something. I'll be back in a couple of hours." And with that, she walked down the front steps that lead to the beach. She didn't really have a clear idea of where she was going, but right now she didn't really care where she ended up. So, she walked a little ways down the beach, and found a deserted place to sit and think. 'It's really peaceful here' she thought. 'I could definitely get used to this place. The only thing that would make this place better, would be Elijah. He doesn't even know I exist for God's sake!'
The ocean was beautiful and the waves came crashing into shore so calmly you could barely hear it. (Ynh) sighed deeply thinking of what she said to Kelly. She really didn't want her or Krista to go, but she wasn't the type of person to be the first to apologize. Sighing again, she continued her walk down the ocean shore. Walking about a block or so down, she came to a bench beside one of the condos, and sat down to think, not noticing the other occupant sitting on the sand next to her. "God why am I such a bitch!" she screamed so hard it echoed. Putting her head in her hands she took a deep breath to calm herself before she made anymore noise explosions that might wake any neighbors.
"I don't think you're a bitch." Came a soft reply next to her.
(Ynh) turned her head a bit to her left and stared at the smiling figure next to her. Blushing a bit from her outburst and just from whom was sitting next to her, she finally made a small smile herself and muttered a small 'thanks.'
"But I have was being a big one to my friends tonight." She said while looking into his eyes."
"Well, why don't you tell me about it?" he asked while he leaned back to stare up at the sky."
(Ynh) let a scared feature pass over her face. She couldn't tell him why she got in a fight with her friends. Oh yes, that would sound SO good. " I basically told my friend Kelly to go to hell because she believed that we just wanted her to sit back and watch us 'accidentally' grab your attention to flirt with you!" ugh! Life sucks!' she thought to herself rolling her eyes toward the sky.
"Well," She started. " I kind of just blamed my friend for something she didn't do. I mean, she did take something I said the wrong way. And I didn't let her have any say in it after because I was too busy being a jerk. And she tried apologizing but I just kept on flapping my mouth. So she left, and Krista went with her. And I don't think they went home just yet. Maybe got a different hotel or something. But I just want them to come back and act as if this whole night ever happened." She took a deep breath after finishing and looked to him for a reply.
"Sounds complicated. Maybe you should just go and apologize?" He said in a more serious tone. "I mean, you just got here, and that's no way to start your vacation. You'll have a miserable time knowing that you did something wrong and never made a change to it for the better." He said feeling a bit sorry for her when he saw the tear rolling down her face.
"Yeah, I suppose your right. I just hope she forgives me and comes back. It wouldn't be the same without her goofy self there." She said with a small laugh, wiping the tear away and standing up. I'll go call her now." She said with a bit of determination in her voice.
"Good." Elijah stated proud of her. "You can use my phone if you'd like?" He asked taking out his cell phone.
"No thanks, I think I'll just go home and use mine, I need to get to bed anyway, I've had a long day." She said quietly. She really did want to go inside with him, but she was also tired and needed to get back home so Summer wouldn't worry about her.
"I understand. Well, I guess I'll see you around?" He said quite hopefully.
"Of course! Hey, what are you doing tomorrow? Maybe we could hang out then? Well, If Krista and Kelly come back that is." She said grabbing her purse from the ground.
"Uh, nothing yet. The guys and me were supposed to go surfing of course, but besides that, nothing. So, tomorrow sounds good. I'll give you a call. What's your number?" He said taking out his cell phone and adding (ynh's) number while she said it. "Okay, cool. Well, have a good night and I hope everything goes well between you and your friends." He said pulling her into a hug.
(Ynh) gladly accepted it and fell into his warmth. She could stay like that forever. But as always, all things come to and end and he pulled away.
"Goodnight." (Ynh) nearly whispered, and retreated back to her house to make a phone call.
Dashing up the stairs into the living room (ynh) jumped on the couch and grabbed the phone. Punching in Kelly's cell phone number, she patiently waited for her to pick up. Summer came in and sat next to her on the couch and gave her a 'what are you doing?' look, and (ynh) mouthed back: "Calling Kelly and Krista." Summer nodded her head, and got up to leave her alone.
"Hello?" Came a depressed voice on the opposite end of the phone.
"Kel?" (Ynh) asked happy she picked up. "Look, I'm so sorry. I know I wasn't being reasonable with you when you wanted to apologize and I kept on bitching you out. I was just shocked that you would actually think I wanted you two to sit back and watch us have fun. You know you are one of my best friends, along with Krista, and I would totally be heart broken if you didn't come back and spend the 3 weeks we have here with us!" (Ynh) finished in hysterics. "I am so sorry! Please forgive me!" She pleaded. She really wanted Kelly to forgive her. She would die if Kelly didn't.
A deep sigh came from the other side. And (ynh) got worried that she was going to say no. "Fine." Kelly answered after a couple of minutes went by. "I forgive you. You know I couldn't stay mad at you for long anyway!" Kelly laughed into the phone. (Ynh) laughed with her and sighed from relief. "Thank-you, Kel! So are you guys going to come back tonight?" (Ynh) asked.
"Sure, why not. You know what? We even went back to the hotel that we first went to. Of course I am going to come back! I can't stand another minute in this hellhole! Although, I do believe that the people at the front desk are getting a little pissy due to the fact that we keep on showing up and moving out in a matter of a half-hour each time." She added.
"Ewe, I don't see how you could stand it! Well I'll see you soon I suppose. Tell Krista I said sorry too. She deserves and apology as well. Bye!" (Ynh) aid before ending the phone conversation. She was so happy that Kelly had accepted her apology. And she had to speak to Elijah too. She loved her life!
Kelly and Krista showed up about a half-hour later, gave a group hug, and settled into their rooms again. They talked for a long while and soon were getting tired. (Ynh) said her goodnights as the time reached 1:30 am and she retreated to the loft. Lying in bed she couldn't help but think that this had been one of the best and worst days of her life.

"Of course I remember, uh, Jennifer Lover Hewitt right?" Elijah chuckled on the other end. (Ynh)'s friends laughed to.
"Ha- fucking-ha."(Ynh) exclaimed with a lot of sarcasm.
"Hey? Am I on speakerphone or something? I'm hearing a lot of echoing coming from my phone." Elijah asked a bit confused.
"Uh, yeah. My friends wouldn't believe that I sat next to you on the plane and all, so I had to prove it to them." She smacked her forehead. 'God he must think I am such a loser now! He'll probably never want to talk to me ever again.' (Ynh) was in such a panic she didn't even realize Elijah yelling on the phone.
"Hello?! Helllooooo?!? Anyone there!?" Elijah yelled into the phone.
"(Ynh)! Elijah's talking to you! Are you deaf woman?!" Summer said hitting her with a pillow.
"Huh what?" (Ynh) said coming back from her daze. "OH SHIT!" She yelled covering her mouth finally remembering the certain someone on the phone. "I'm so sorry Elijah! I forgot all about you!"
"Gee thanks, I feel important." He chuckled on the other end. "It's okay. So where you guys at?"
"Well, we were suppose to stay at this hotel about 5 miles back." Summer started. "But the hotel was totally crap! It smelt bad and I found a dead rat in our tub!" Kelly added in, eyes wide and shuddering with the memory.
"So where are you staying now?" Elijah said after he finished laughing at Kelly.
" A condo by the ocean. It's really kicks ass!" (Ynh) said happily. Much better than that dump! Who knows what else was crawling in that place!"
" A condo huh? Would this happen to be a two-story condo? It has about 5 others by its side and is brick and creamish- orange colored?" Elijah asked suspicious with a smirk on his face.
"Yes, why?" (Ynh) asked wanting to know the reason behind his question.
"Well, me and my friends just rented one today. Needed to get away from the house for a bit you know? So it's Sean, Billy, Dom, and Orlando…and me of course." He finished with a chuckle. "But hey! I got to go now. So maybe we can hang out sometime? Maybe surf a bit or something?" Elijah asked hopefully. Really wanting to see her again.
"Uh sure, that sounds cool!" (Ynh) said shaking. She was going to hang out with Elijah Wood again! How cool is that?"
"Well, just call me then, and we'll make plans k?" He said happily… she had said yes.
"Yep!" see ya soon Elijah!" (Ynh) said hanging up the phone. "OMG! He is so cute!" (Ynh) screamed at the top of her lungs running around the house and jumping up and down.
"And can you believe my luck?!" Shouted summer. "Orli is there!! Can we say boo-ya baby!? Hell ya!" She shouted again getting up and joining (ynh) yelling and running around the house.
"Hey, wait!" (Ynh) said stopping in front of the door looking at it. "I have a plan."
"A plan?" Krista asked, kind of curious. "What sort of a plan?" Krista had always been the mischievous one, so this intriged her.
"I just thought that maybe we could…oh, ya know….'accidentally' attract their attention. There's no harm in that, is there?" (ynh) smiled an evil grin.
"And why would we want to do that?" Kelly was referring to her and Krista. "There's nothing in this for us!"
"What do you mean by that?" Summer asked.
"I mean, that you like Orlando, and (ynh) likes Elijah. So, what would we do after we play cupid?!" Kelly was starting to get an attitude. "Do you expect us to just sit back and watch you two FLIRT?!"
"Come on Kel, you know I didn't mean it like that." (ynh) said, trying not to Kelly's bad temper worse.
"Well that's certainly what it sounded like!" She finally snapped. Kelly was really irritable lately, since she had been stood up on a date with her boyfriend. Then came to find out that he had been cheating on her. (ynh) didn't see this as an excuse though, she had been dumped, and knew better than to take it out on her friends.
"You're right Kelly! I did mean it like that! I was thinking that after you hooked me and Summer up with Elijah and Orlando, that you could wait on us like slaves or something!" (ynh) had had enough of her bullshit. "That's what you wanted, right?!" Kelly felt a little guilty now.
"(ynh), I didn't say you….." she tried to make things better, but she knew that she had gone too far this time, and (ynh) wasn't going to listen to her anymore.
"You know what Kel?!" (ynh) screamed at the top of her lungs. "I don't give a FLYING-FUCK what you were trying to say!" (ynh) looked as though she were about to burst with anger. "I'm so sick of you stupid pity-trips! It's not mine or Summer's fault that you don't have a guy drooling over you every second of the god damned day!"
"Look…What I meant was…" the truth was that, Kelly didn't know what she really meant. She was trying to come up with an excuse, but once again (ynh) interrupted her.
"No! I don't want to hear it Kelly! In fact, I think it would be better if you found somewhere else to stay tonight! Maybe while you're gone you can think about how to treat your friends a little better!" (ynh) yelled so loud that her voice was a little hoarse. Kelly was now completely pissed off! She was trying to apologize and (ynh) just went off on her!
"Fine! I will find somewhere else to stay! This whole FUCKING trip was a joke! I can't believe that I thought I'd be able to stand you for three weeks!" Kelly was yelling now too.
"So what are you saying!?" (ynh) screamed even louder, if that's possible.
"Just forget it! I'm leaving!" Kelly decided it was better not to push it any further, she had already said some things she shouldn't have. She headed to her room to pack her things back up.
"That was really harsh (ynh)!" Krista, who had remained quiet until now, said. "You know that that wasn't what she was trying to say. Besides, she was trying to apologize to you. But I suppose you didn't hear that part because you were too busy flapping your wide mouth!" Now Krista was furious as well. Kelly was her best friend, and she wasn't about to sit back and let someone talk to her like that. Even if that someone happened to be her friend.
"If she goes, then I go!" Krista yelled. She didn't really want to go, but she had to do the right thing.
"Great! Go then! See if I care!" (ynh) felt guilty, but wouldn't let her guard now. Although she knew that she wouldn't have any fun if the rest of the gang wasn't there.
Ten minutes later, Kelly and Krista emerged from their room carrying their suitcases. (ynh) had already retreated to the porch, she wasn't sure who she was angrier with, Kelly or herself. 'Why did I blow up like that?' she thought to herself. 'I shouldn't have been so mean to her….but she didn't have any reason to assume that I wanted her to sit back and watch me and Summer!' (ynh) was confused, and needed time to cool off. Some time to be alone.
Meanwhile, Summer was trying to convince the others to stay. "PLEASE don't go you guys?! We can work this out, just calm down a bit!" Summer was desperately trying to stop them.
"Look Summer, I know you this isn't your fault, but maybe it would be better if we did get out of here for a while. At least until this whole thing blows over." Krista said.
"So, there's no way I can talk you out of this?" Summer asked, even though she already knew the answer.
"Nope…sorry." Kelly replied. And with that they headed out the door and into the taxi that just pulled up. 'I didn't think they would really go through with this.' Summer mumbled to herself. 'I just have to make the best of this vacation, and try not to let this bother me too much.' She thought. 'I better go and cheer (ynh) up, or at least try to.' So Summer mad her outside to find (ynh).
She found her right where she had expected, sitting in the giant cushioned chair on the porch. (ynh) had a look of deep thought and anxiety on her face. Summer sat down in the chair beside her. "so…what about that plan, huh?!" Summer asked, trying to make her smile.
"Look Summer, I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I really need to be alone right now." (ynh) replied, she tried her best not to hurt Summer's feelings as well. That would be all she needed!
"Oh, ok…I'll just… go inside then." She said in a confused and rejected voice.
"Sorry. I think I'm going to go for a walk or something. I'll be back in a couple of hours." And with that, she walked down the front steps that lead to the beach. She didn't really have a clear idea of where she was going, but right now she didn't really care where she ended up. So, she walked a little ways down the beach, and found a deserted place to sit and think. 'It's really peaceful here' she thought. 'I could definitely get used to this place. The only thing that would make this place better, would be Elijah. He doesn't even know I exist for God's sake!'
The ocean was beautiful and the waves came crashing into shore so calmly you could barely hear it. (Ynh) sighed deeply thinking of what she said to Kelly. She really didn't want her or Krista to go, but she wasn't the type of person to be the first to apologize. Sighing again, she continued her walk down the ocean shore. Walking about a block or so down, she came to a bench beside one of the condos, and sat down to think, not noticing the other occupant sitting on the sand next to her. "God why am I such a bitch!" she screamed so hard it echoed. Putting her head in her hands she took a deep breath to calm herself before she made anymore noise explosions that might wake any neighbors.
"I don't think you're a bitch." Came a soft reply next to her.
(Ynh) turned her head a bit to her left and stared at the smiling figure next to her. Blushing a bit from her outburst and just from whom was sitting next to her, she finally made a small smile herself and muttered a small 'thanks.'
"But I have was being a big one to my friends tonight." She said while looking into his eyes."
"Well, why don't you tell me about it?" he asked while he leaned back to stare up at the sky."
(Ynh) let a scared feature pass over her face. She couldn't tell him why she got in a fight with her friends. Oh yes, that would sound SO good. " I basically told my friend Kelly to go to hell because she believed that we just wanted her to sit back and watch us 'accidentally' grab your attention to flirt with you!" ugh! Life sucks!' she thought to herself rolling her eyes toward the sky.
"Well," She started. " I kind of just blamed my friend for something she didn't do. I mean, she did take something I said the wrong way. And I didn't let her have any say in it after because I was too busy being a jerk. And she tried apologizing but I just kept on flapping my mouth. So she left, and Krista went with her. And I don't think they went home just yet. Maybe got a different hotel or something. But I just want them to come back and act as if this whole night ever happened." She took a deep breath after finishing and looked to him for a reply.
"Sounds complicated. Maybe you should just go and apologize?" He said in a more serious tone. "I mean, you just got here, and that's no way to start your vacation. You'll have a miserable time knowing that you did something wrong and never made a change to it for the better." He said feeling a bit sorry for her when he saw the tear rolling down her face.
"Yeah, I suppose your right. I just hope she forgives me and comes back. It wouldn't be the same without her goofy self there." She said with a small laugh, wiping the tear away and standing up. I'll go call her now." She said with a bit of determination in her voice.
"Good." Elijah stated proud of her. "You can use my phone if you'd like?" He asked taking out his cell phone.
"No thanks, I think I'll just go home and use mine, I need to get to bed anyway, I've had a long day." She said quietly. She really did want to go inside with him, but she was also tired and needed to get back home so Summer wouldn't worry about her.
"I understand. Well, I guess I'll see you around?" He said quite hopefully.
"Of course! Hey, what are you doing tomorrow? Maybe we could hang out then? Well, If Krista and Kelly come back that is." She said grabbing her purse from the ground.
"Uh, nothing yet. The guys and me were supposed to go surfing of course, but besides that, nothing. So, tomorrow sounds good. I'll give you a call. What's your number?" He said taking out his cell phone and adding (ynh's) number while she said it. "Okay, cool. Well, have a good night and I hope everything goes well between you and your friends." He said pulling her into a hug.
(Ynh) gladly accepted it and fell into his warmth. She could stay like that forever. But as always, all things come to and end and he pulled away.
"Goodnight." (Ynh) nearly whispered, and retreated back to her house to make a phone call.
Dashing up the stairs into the living room (ynh) jumped on the couch and grabbed the phone. Punching in Kelly's cell phone number, she patiently waited for her to pick up. Summer came in and sat next to her on the couch and gave her a 'what are you doing?' look, and (ynh) mouthed back: "Calling Kelly and Krista." Summer nodded her head, and got up to leave her alone.
"Hello?" Came a depressed voice on the opposite end of the phone.
"Kel?" (Ynh) asked happy she picked up. "Look, I'm so sorry. I know I wasn't being reasonable with you when you wanted to apologize and I kept on bitching you out. I was just shocked that you would actually think I wanted you two to sit back and watch us have fun. You know you are one of my best friends, along with Krista, and I would totally be heart broken if you didn't come back and spend the 3 weeks we have here with us!" (Ynh) finished in hysterics. "I am so sorry! Please forgive me!" She pleaded. She really wanted Kelly to forgive her. She would die if Kelly didn't.
A deep sigh came from the other side. And (ynh) got worried that she was going to say no. "Fine." Kelly answered after a couple of minutes went by. "I forgive you. You know I couldn't stay mad at you for long anyway!" Kelly laughed into the phone. (Ynh) laughed with her and sighed from relief. "Thank-you, Kel! So are you guys going to come back tonight?" (Ynh) asked.
"Sure, why not. You know what? We even went back to the hotel that we first went to. Of course I am going to come back! I can't stand another minute in this hellhole! Although, I do believe that the people at the front desk are getting a little pissy due to the fact that we keep on showing up and moving out in a matter of a half-hour each time." She added.
"Ewe, I don't see how you could stand it! Well I'll see you soon I suppose. Tell Krista I said sorry too. She deserves and apology as well. Bye!" (Ynh) aid before ending the phone conversation. She was so happy that Kelly had accepted her apology. And she had to speak to Elijah too. She loved her life!
Kelly and Krista showed up about a half-hour later, gave a group hug, and settled into their rooms again. They talked for a long while and soon were getting tired. (Ynh) said her goodnights as the time reached 1:30 am and she retreated to the loft. Lying in bed she couldn't help but think that this had been one of the best and worst days of her life.
