1 Year Later
“WHERE IS SHE”said the voice of a man pinning a demon to a wall by his throat.
“I-I don’t know” the demon said.
“Wrong answer”the voice said as his eyes glowed and shot the demon with energy in the light caused by the blast stood Sasuka
“He didn’t know anything did he” Sasuka asked the figure.
“No...but I will find her”the person said as he turned to leave”I don’t care how many I have to kill I will find her”
“Alex...”Sasuka said as he spun Alex around by his shoulder”I know you want to find Jamie...but she’s been gone a month...and”
“Are you saying there’s no hope”Alex said with fire in his eyes.
“Well I’m just saying” Sasuka said as Alex threw Sasuka’s arm off of his shoulder.
“I don’t care what I have to do I will find her”Alex said letting his rising anger get the better of him as his eyes glowed with power.
“Yeah...whatever. But...Alex be careful. I’m still not sure how these demon’s are getting through. When we defeated Death we erased any chance of the portal being opened again. So just watch your back.”Sasuka said as Alex disappeared into the darkness.
“I can’t believe just how much he’s changed”Ashley said.
“Neither can I...it’s almost seems like he’s a completely different person”Sara said.
“I hate saying this...but he sort of reminds me of Shadow”Ashley said.
“Yeah I know”Sasuka said.
“Oh yeah I almost forgot... some old friends of mine might just have a lead for us come one”Sara said as her Ashley and Sasuka left.
On top of a distant roof.
A figure sits hunched over a tear running down his face.
“Jamie...I was to weak to protect you...but I don’t care what anyone else says I WILL FIND YOU”Alex said as he gets up. He then notices a group of demons near a building talking.
“Look...I don’t know what’s all going down but the boss said that we had better stay away from the Archangel evidently the boss has done something to piss him off”one of the taller one’s said.
“Heh...well from what the boss says pretty soon we won’t have to worry about the Archangel at all...in fact he says soon the Archangel will be working for us” a demon said to the others.
“Well boys I hate to break up this lovely chat but it seems you guys have some information I may just need...or for you sake you had better hope I need it”a voice said followed by a loud explosion killing most of the demons as Alex stepped out wielding his sword and grabbing the tall demon.
“Now just where is your boss located”
“If I told you he would kill me”
“And what do you think I’m going to do to you”Alex said his eyes glowing with power.
“Well then if it’s a fight you want”the demon said as his size suddenly tripled and so did his power.
“Bad day for you to choose to fight me”Alex said as angel wings emerged from his back. He then summoned his sword and proceeded to hacking and blasting at the demon at inhuman speeds. Alex didn’t care if this demon knew anything or not right then he was enjoying himself. He enjoyed the adrenaline rush as he dodged attacks and hacked away at the demon. In his enjoyment he forgot to put up his shield to protect the innocents around him. So every blast that missed and hit a building, did damage to that building.
“Is this all you have Archangel. Where is the legendary power that defeated even Death himself?” The demon said mockingly.
“You want to feel my power? Fine then take this” Alex said as his anger rose so did his power “ Trinity Blast!”
With that Alex proceeded to destroy not only the demon but half of the street block he was on. Alex turned around to see the rest of the demon’s scampering off after that attack.
“Heh their nothing but a bunch of weaklings.” Alex said suddenly he heard sirens and screaming, lots of screaming.
“What’s all that about” that’s when he realized he forgot his shield. He saw people bleeding, screaming, trying to find their loved ones amongst the rubble of the destroyed buildings. All the things Alex saw, at first he didn’t care in fact he almost enjoyed it...and that scared him more than anything...but what would scare him more would be the faces of the people he hurt and the blood he had spilt, innocent blood, that would haunt his dreams at night from that point on.
“W-what have I done” Alex said in utter despair he flew off quickly trying to get away from the chaos below.
In another part of the city
“What was that” Sasuka said as he turned around towards the sound of an explosion.
“Oh no Alex” Ashley yelled as they all ran towards the the commotion.
“Mam, would you please tell me again what happened?” an officer asked a hysterical lady.
“Wings brilliant angel wings then a flash of light”
“Alex” Sara said under her breathe as they made their way past the decimated building.
“Shit, he’s gone way to far this time.” Sasuka announced. “Fighting in public, and without activating his barrier. That’s not like him at all.”
“Tell me once lately when he’s been himself?” Ashley asked. “I mean, I don’t want to believe that Alex would do this, but something’s happening to Alex. Something besides losing Jamie.”
“Let’s talk about this later, we don’t want to keep Sara’s friends waiting.” Sasuka said trying to end the unpleasant subject.
They then continued to head towards the meeting place to talk to Sara’s friends. When they finally reached the alleyway where they were to meet everyone noticed three persons standing before them.
“Okay guys this is Aurora, Ryku , and Michael their my friends I told you about” Sara said. Their before them was a young woman about 17 in age with light brown hair wearing what appeared to be a Chinese priestess outfit, a young man about the same age with white hair wearing a blue button up jacket, a white undershirt and black pants, and another young man about 20 with light brown hair wearing grey pants, a grey shirt, and a dark red vest.
“These three are element alist like me.” Sara declared happily as she hugged the girl in excitement.
“Really what are their powers” Sasuka asked, intrigued by the fact that their were more element alist out there.
“Well me and my sister Aurora are sort of half breeds you could say. I control wind and void, where as Aurora controls the power of wind and gravity.” Ryku said.
“And I have power over metal and fire.” Michael declared.
“Cool...but umm what’s void?”Ashley asked.
“Well watch this” Ryku replied with grin. He then raised his arm and brought it down quickly as a black portal opened up under a trash can ,the trash can suddenly disappeared.
“Wow...where’d it go”
“Look up” Ryku said as he then snapped his finger and the trash can fell out of another portal.
“Hey watch it!” Ashley yelled as the trash can fell towards her! It stopped inches from her head as it lightly floated down to the ground.
“Heh thanks I’m guessing that’s your doing” Ashley said to Aurora.
“Yep, forgive my brother he likes to show off, a lot!” she said as she gave her brother a stern look.
“Yeah, ths kid is sort of a hot shot. Not to sure why exactly but he just enjoys being the center of attention.” Michael stated, he was leaning up against a wall generating fire into his right hand, extinguishing it and then regenerating it all over again.
“The cool thing about my power is that the stuff I make disappear stays gone unless I want it to. Also I can transport people inside there as well”
“Heh it beats taking the train” Sasuka said “Sara said you might be able to help locate one of our friends”
“Yeah, I’ve got some information on the place they probably have her...I’m not sure your going to like it though” Ryku said.
“Look I don’t care, it could be hell for all it’s worth if she’s alive we have to find her, if not for her sake then at the very least for Alex’s”Sasuka said.
“Heh, good thing you don’t mind Hell cause this place is the next best thing.” Michael stated as he turned to go inside the pizzeria next door. Everyone else followed suite. His words puzzled everyone except for Ryku and Aurora.
“That reminds me where is Alex, I’ve heard so much about him I wanted to meet him”Aurora asked eagerly.
“Umm yeah, right now might not be the best of times to talk to him”Sara said
“Huh why?”
“Well, he’s not exactly himself right now, you know after all that’s happened”
“Oh...ok”
“Now back to this place”Sasuka asked again after everyone had sat down at a booth and made their orders.
“Yeah the place you want to go...is the Valley of Death”Ryku said in a grave tone.
“Whoa you mean that place actually exists”Ashley said.
“Oh yeah it’s real alright and I hate to break it to you, but if your friends there, there’s no way you’ll be getting her back”Michael cut in.
“What do you mean by that?” Ashley asked
“Look there’s a very good reason why I’m telling you this. Going there would mean death for all of you.”Michael said
“What makes you so sure you don’t even know us or our abilities.” Sasuka said angrily.
“I know”Sara said quietly.
“Huh what is it”
“Seven years ago a group of elemental’s...actually an army of elemental’s went to attack the demons living in the valley of death. A hundred elemental’s in all...everyone save for Ryku, Aurora, Michael, Ba’shaal, the Element alist, Siren, and myself that I know of died.”
“How can that be?” Ashley said in wonder
“In the valley of death all the demon’s are given power by some evil source, making them much stronger that normal so that even a lower class demon is a hassle. We were overwhelmed. There were thousands of demon’s and we barely made a dent in the numbers before we had to retreat.” Ryku replied.
“I’m sorry but if they’re keeping your friend alive it’s because they want to kill the rest of you” Aurora said.
“Yeah, I hate to break it to you but, your best bet would be to forget about her” Michael said, seemingly reminiscing about the past.
“That’s probably true. We’ll have to tell Alex and see what he thinks” Sara said.
“No way.” Sasuka replied
“Why not this is Alex we’re talking about”
“No...this is not our Alex. He’s changed, when it comes to Jamie he’s unreasonable, he doesn’t think things through. You saw what happened to that city block. We know it was him. Also if we told him, he un doubtibly would go no matter what the risk. We’ll have to wait to see what we can find out before we tell him”
Later that night...
“Look, it’s decided, Alex is too much of a risk. We can’t tell him, I mean come on he blew up a whole city block! I’m not about to let him know about Jamie. If he finds out...” Sasuka said.
“But is it right for us to let his soul to be tortured while he’s searching for her. We know where she is. I can’t let him be done like that” Ashley said “It’s not right why do we have to lie to him. He doesn’t deserve this pain.”
Outside a person might notice a winged figure standing on the roof top deep in thought listening, to the conversation taking place inside.
“They don’t trust me...heh...I can’t blame them. But, still they weren’t going to tell me. I know where Jamie is that’s good enough for me...to find her I will go through the Valley.” Alex said as he flew off. About a mile out of town he noticed a familiar face standing on a tree top.
“Sasuka what are you doing here?” Alex asked.
“I could ask you the same thing. You know going to the Valley of Death is what they want. Jamie might not even be alive now.”
“So what, I have to at least try.”
“Well then, you’ll have to get through me first.” Sasuka said as he ran atop the tree tops and jumped up and kicked Alex towards the ground. Alex ricocheted off a tree branch and hit Sasuka with a powerful right hook. Sasuka flipped back landing on a tree branch and sent energized cards flying straight towards Alex. Alex swatted them away with his sword, but the blew up as soon as he made contact. The blast sent him flying and Sasuka was right behind him and nailed him with a powerful wind blast. Alex twisted his body in mid air and launched an energy blast that knocked Sasuka off his feet. Alex took advantage of this and teleported behind Sasuka and with a powerful energized punch knocked him unconscious.
“Farewell, old friend” Alex said as he flew off, leaving the unconscious form of Sasuka laying on the ground.
1 week later...
Alex stood before the entrance to the Valley of Death. He had been able to locate it barely due to the fact that he could sense Death’s energy radiating from deep within it. The place had a natural barrier around it to keep unwanted visitors out, but for some reason it had been lowered. Alex figured it was an invitation for him to come in. He knew it was a trap but at that point he didn’t care. His wings appeared as he jumped off a cliff and quicky descended into the valley.
When he landed what awaited him were legions upon legions of the strongest and most foulest demons he had ever seen. He couldn’t even see the end to all these demons he knew that their was easily over a million demon’s there, and he knew he could easily get himself killed doing this, but right then he just didn’t care. Alex summoned his sword as the demons began to charge at him.
*To find her, I will go in to the Valley.* Alex thought as the first demon got to him, Alex sliced him with his sword but it barely even scratched him. At this time Alex knew what he was really up against, the Valley was getting darker by the second, it was then that Alex realized that the barrier to keep things out was closing, meaning that they wanted to keep him in.
8 months later...
“Arrgh this demon is too strong” Sasuka said as his energized card barely made a scratch on the demon.
“This demon! They’re all too strong. It’s like they’ve gotten a power boost.” Ashley said as with that she launched a sound wave to make the earth collapse under some of the demon. “Now Sara!”
“Right” Sara declared as she launched ice spikes onto the demons. Killing a few but there were still too many.
“Argh every time I phase a demon it comes back.” Ryku declared as he fended of a demon with his sword.
“Here let me help” Aurora said as he lifted the demons high into the air with her power of gravity.
“Let’s see how they like this” Michael said cockily as he created metal blades to shoot out from the ground killing the demons. Then suddenly a huge demon appeared stronger than any of the ones the warriors had just defeated.
“Shit, this can’t be happening. His energy is off the chart. If we fight him we don’t stand a chance” Sasuka said as the demon looked at them with evil intent glowing in his eyes. Suddenly the demon was cut in half by some unknown force.
“Huh, what happened?” Michael asked.
“I-it can’t be ALEX!!” Ashley yelled as she recognized he friend.
“Alex...”Sasuka said under his breathe *It can’t be...but it is. He’s much stronger than the last time we saw him. I can feel the energy emitting from him from here. It’s incredible how did he become this strong in this amount of time.*
“Alex it really is you, how are you, where have you been?” Ashley asked with joy.
“There’s no time to chat. I need your help” Alex said coldly his eyes which were usually full of life and energy gazed at Ashley with an icy glare.
“Uh sure man how can we help” Sara asked still dumbfound by his return.
“I’ve found away into the Valley of Death. I can get us there, and through most of the demon’s but I need your guy’s help to do it.”
“How did you find about the Valley of Death?”Ryku asked.
“He overheard us that night and went searching for Jamie.”Sasuka said revealing to everyone else what he had already known.
“Yes, no thanks to you I’ve found out that Jamie is still alive.”
“WHAT!!” Ashley and Sara said in unison.
“Hey man that’s good an all that your girls alive but going to that place is like going straight to death. What makes you sure we can get in there.” Michael asked.
“Because I’ve been there. Your right it is like going to your death. When I first left I tried to find Jamie on my own but I couldn’t do it. It took me a long time to just find out where the Valley of Death was. When I actually reached there I could barely make it near the place. The demons were too powerful, I was almost killed. After many unsuccessful attempts my rage at how weak I was unlocked a hidden power deep within me. With that power I was able to find a safer route through the Valley. But I need you guys to come with me. Our combined power will be needed to finally put an end to Death.”
“So I guess that does explain why your so strong. What do you think guys should we do it?”Sasuka asked.
“Sara...surely you Aurora, Ryku, and Michael would like the chance to avenge your fallen comrades. I can give you the chance you want.” Alex said.
“Hmm I like the idea of giving Death a taste of his own medicine. Ok, I’m in” Ryku said.
“I don’t like fighting personally. But, to avenge the deaths of my friends I will return to the Valley of Death.” Michael exclaimed.
“Looks, like we’re going. And I was just getting to like this place” Aurora stated.
“Well we’re with ya Alex.”Sara said.
“So am I” Ashley exclaimed.
“Sasuka, what about you.” Alex asked.
“I’ll go.” Sasuka said. *Something’s not right about this. I can’t put my finger on it, but something is definitely up.
No one knew exactly why they agreed to this suicide mission. Especially, ryku, Aurora, and Michael. They barely even knew Alex, yet something about him made them want to follow him. Even if it was to the gates of Hell.
“Good, now Ryku teleport us to the Valley of Death” Alex demanded.
“Hey man, look I understand you want to go now. But you have to understand it’s been Hell for us these past eight months. We’ve been attacked everyday. Before we go with you we’re going to need some time to recuperate.” Sasuka announced.
“Hmm, your right. I’m sorry for my brashness. It’s just...never mind. I’m sorry though. Is it all right if I stay with you guys though, you know until your ready that is.” Alex asked, a bit of his old self shining through the darkness of his new exterior.
“Heh, what a stupid thing to ask. Of course Alex, this is just as mush your home as it is ours.” Ashley said. As she hit him playfully on the shoulder.
Just as Sasuka had said everyday demon hordes attacked the weary hero’s. Alex however, was able to defeat the groups with ease, allowing the others to rest up and regain their energy. Alex, they could tell was slowly showing them his old self. He made jokes and played games. He sparred with everyone one night, when Michael boasted that he could easily beat Alex.
“Okay, if you think you can beat me so easily, why don’t we have a little fun and spar a bit?” Alex said with a slight smirk. He stood up and stretched lightly as he began heading towards the entrance to the underground cave.
“Hey, you guys coming?” Alex said to everyone there. “Come on, we can have a little fun. Besides, I want to see how strong everyone has gotten.” Alex said as everyone got up and followed him deep into the abyss of the cave. The darkness encased everything. Right before Alex became totally eclipsed by the darkness a fireball flew past his head. Alex quickly sprinted towards the darkness, using the darkness as a shield to protect him from his adversaries.
Michael charged into the darkness and immediately launched and enormous ring of fire. The darkness only giving slightly to the presence of the light. Michael didn’t see the attack coming but he felt the air behind him and instantly created a metal shield to block the attack. Alex’s energized fist collided with the shield, denting it severely. Michael took this opportunity to reform the shield into a metallic cage for Alex. The cage ensnared Alex leaving him to the mercy of Michael. But before Michael could take the initiative the cage was instantly vaporized by Alex from within. Alex then launched himself at Michael. Michael dodged another energized punch and was barely able to block the following kick, but he lost his footing when Alex launched an energy blast at his feet. Michael back flipped over Alex’s kick and at the same time launched a metal pole at Alex’s feet. Alex jumped over the pole launching himself high into the air. Alex charged up his fist and came crashing down with incredible force. When his fist connected with the ground It instantly shattered it, the resulting shockwaves knocked Michael back against the far wall. Michael had the breath knocked out of him and in an instant Alex was upon him. Alex summoned fire to his hands and launched a continuous stream of fire at Michael, who countered with his own stream of fire. The two were deadlocked in this struggle until a blade of wind swiped Alex across the leg. At this time Ryku and aurora were upon him. Both combining their collective wind powers forcing Alex to give up his assault on Michael.
“Hey he was right where I wanted him! Why don’t you two mind your own business.” Michael shouted, angered by the fact that his opponent used the confusion to disappear.
“We’ll take that as a thank you.” Ryku said flatly as he and his sister began searching for Alex. Suddenly, Alex emerged from the darkness and with a swift motion shot a quick burst of fire at both Ryku and Aurora’s eyes temporarily blinding them. Alex then charged up for an energy attack. Michael hurried to his friends and created a wall of metal right as Alex launched his attack. The shield was instantly vaporized and sent the three friends hurling backwards. Alex launched numerous energy attacks at them to keep them on the run. Suddenly he hear a stranger noise from in front of him, but before he realized what was going on he heard the same noise from behind him. Alex instinctively rolled on the ground, feeling the rush of air above him from the swinging of a sword.
“Heh, I see, you have the power to teleport.” Alex said as he dodged the deadly blade being swung at him.
Alex dodged the sword being lunged at him, but was quickly knocked backwards by a powerful mass of wind. Before Alex could move, he felt himself being forced downwards, realized that Aurora must be using her powers over gravity on him, Alex knew that he would be unable to dodge Ryku’s next attack unless he broke her focus. The only problem was he couldn’t tell where she was. Alex couldn’t tell where anyone was in the darkness, until he heard the distinctive sound of Ryku teleporting, the sound came from directly in front of him. Alex quickly released a small amount of energy from his body, just enough to generate enough light to blind Ryku and anyone near him. Even though the light lasted only a second it was enough for Alex to see where Aurora was standing. Alex quickly launched two energy blasts at the place where he last saw her. Evidently it was enough for the weight upon him quickly vanished, just in time for Alex to dodge Ryku’s sword. Alex quickly kneed Ryku in the stomach and then with both hands knocked him towards the ground. Alex then quickly turned his attention towards Aurora. Before she had the chance to recover her control of gravity around him Alex launched a huge mass of energy blasts all around her. He then ran up to her and grabbed both her arms and twisted them around to her back. He then launched her forwards with a light energy blast sending her flying in the direction of her brother.
As soon as he did this Alex had the breath knocked out of him by a metal pole. Michael was launching numerous strikes from the now razor sharp spear, leaving Alex no time to catch his breath. Finally, Alex managed to grab hold of the end of Michael’s spear. Before Michael could change the form of his weapon Alex launched an energy blast at Michael’s forehead knocking him out.
Alex only had a moment then for being hit by two familiar attacks. Alex’s feet were frozen to the ground only to have him then be sent flying by sonic waves. Alex dodged the ice spike being hurled at him, but was instantly kicked in the head from behind him. Alex rolled with the kick and launched his own sweeping kick, knocking Ashley off her feet. Alex was then pummeled by a large torrent of water causing him to lose his footing and send him flying away from the two girls. Alex got up in time to be knocked back down by a sonic blast from Ashley, he was then greeted by a large ice blast aimed for his head. Alex countered the attack with a quick burst of fire, and then Alex started being on the offensive. Alex immediately punched the ground, sending shockwaves running through it. The shockwaves knocked the girls of their feet, but before they were able to hit the ground they were instantly sent sprawling backwards by another energy attack. Alex then quickly picked them both up by the back of their necks and sent them flying forwards with a quick energy blast.
Alex was instantly aware of Sasuka’s presence as he dodged one of Sasuka’s energized cards.
“Heh, now for the real fun to begin.” Alex said wildly as he ran towards Sasuka.
Sasuka dodged Alex’s attack and launched Alex forwards with a gust of wind. Alex immediately flipped over the ground and launched himself at Sasuka again. This time when Sasuka dodged Alex’s punch he was caught in the face by Alex’s knee. Sasuka was knocked to the ground but quickly recovered. He then launched a torrent of energized cards at Alex. Alex instantly vaporized them with an energy attack, but as the dust cleared Alex was knocked backwards by Sasuka’s energized kick. Alex ricocheted off the wall and launched a quick succession of energy blasts at Sasuka. Sasuka blocked all the attacks with an energized shield a launched a vortex of wind at the flying form of Alex. Alex was violently thrown towards the cave wall and was continually being pummeled by the strong winds. Alex, however was able to get his legs behind him and launch himself off of the wall with a great deal of energy. When he landed he was greeted by Sasuka’s foot in his face. Alex was knocked flat on his back and was barely able to roll to the side in time to dodge Sasuka’s energized punch. Alex then swept Sasuka off his feet and quickly caught Sasuka in the stomach with an energized punch. Alex, with his hand still at Sasuka’s stomach, launched an energy blast which knocked Sasuka out cold.
“Heh, well that was fun.” Alex said wearily as he knelt down to catch his breath.
A week later everyone was back to full strength. It was already obvious that Sasuka, Ashley, and Sara were glad to have Alex back and it seemed that Aurora and Ryku had also grown fond of Alex also. They saw the kind hearted, caring person Alex used to be, fortunately they had yet to see his dark side. Michael, well it was hard to tell if Michael liked Alex or not, but he did have a lot of respect for Alex after Alex beat him in sparring. Finally, everyone was ready for what they all felt would be their final adventure.

“Jamie...I was to weak to protect you...but I don’t care what anyone else says I WILL FIND YOU”Alex said as he gets up. He then notices a group of demons near a building talking.
“Look...I don’t know what’s all going down but the boss said that we had better stay away from the Archangel evidently the boss has done something to piss him off”one of the taller one’s said.
“Heh...well from what the boss says pretty soon we won’t have to worry about the Archangel at all...in fact he says soon the Archangel will be working for us” a demon said to the others.
“Well boys I hate to break up this lovely chat but it seems you guys have some information I may just need...or for you sake you had better hope I need it”a voice said followed by a loud explosion killing most of the demons as Alex stepped out wielding his sword and grabbing the tall demon.
“Now just where is your boss located”
“If I told you he would kill me”
“And what do you think I’m going to do to you”Alex said his eyes glowing with power.
“Well then if it’s a fight you want”the demon said as his size suddenly tripled and so did his power.
“Bad day for you to choose to fight me”Alex said as angel wings emerged from his back. He then summoned his sword and proceeded to hacking and blasting at the demon at inhuman speeds. Alex didn’t care if this demon knew anything or not right then he was enjoying himself. He enjoyed the adrenaline rush as he dodged attacks and hacked away at the demon. In his enjoyment he forgot to put up his shield to protect the innocents around him. So every blast that missed and hit a building, did damage to that building.
“Is this all you have Archangel. Where is the legendary power that defeated even Death himself?” The demon said mockingly.
“You want to feel my power? Fine then take this” Alex said as his anger rose so did his power “ Trinity Blast!”
With that Alex proceeded to destroy not only the demon but half of the street block he was on. Alex turned around to see the rest of the demon’s scampering off after that attack.
“Heh their nothing but a bunch of weaklings.” Alex said suddenly he heard sirens and screaming, lots of screaming.
“What’s all that about” that’s when he realized he forgot his shield. He saw people bleeding, screaming, trying to find their loved ones amongst the rubble of the destroyed buildings. All the things Alex saw, at first he didn’t care in fact he almost enjoyed it...and that scared him more than anything...but what would scare him more would be the faces of the people he hurt and the blood he had spilt, innocent blood, that would haunt his dreams at night from that point on.
“W-what have I done” Alex said in utter despair he flew off quickly trying to get away from the chaos below.
In another part of the city
“What was that” Sasuka said as he turned around towards the sound of an explosion.
“Oh no Alex” Ashley yelled as they all ran towards the the commotion.
“Mam, would you please tell me again what happened?” an officer asked a hysterical lady.
“Wings brilliant angel wings then a flash of light”
“Alex” Sara said under her breathe as they made their way past the decimated building.
“Shit, he’s gone way to far this time.” Sasuka announced. “Fighting in public, and without activating his barrier. That’s not like him at all.”
“Tell me once lately when he’s been himself?” Ashley asked. “I mean, I don’t want to believe that Alex would do this, but something’s happening to Alex. Something besides losing Jamie.”
“Let’s talk about this later, we don’t want to keep Sara’s friends waiting.” Sasuka said trying to end the unpleasant subject.
They then continued to head towards the meeting place to talk to Sara’s friends. When they finally reached the alleyway where they were to meet everyone noticed three persons standing before them.
“Okay guys this is Aurora, Ryku , and Michael their my friends I told you about” Sara said. Their before them was a young woman about 17 in age with light brown hair wearing what appeared to be a Chinese priestess outfit, a young man about the same age with white hair wearing a blue button up jacket, a white undershirt and black pants, and another young man about 20 with light brown hair wearing grey pants, a grey shirt, and a dark red vest.
“These three are element alist like me.” Sara declared happily as she hugged the girl in excitement.
“Really what are their powers” Sasuka asked, intrigued by the fact that their were more element alist out there.
“Well me and my sister Aurora are sort of half breeds you could say. I control wind and void, where as Aurora controls the power of wind and gravity.” Ryku said.
“And I have power over metal and fire.” Michael declared.
“Cool...but umm what’s void?”Ashley asked.
“Well watch this” Ryku replied with grin. He then raised his arm and brought it down quickly as a black portal opened up under a trash can ,the trash can suddenly disappeared.
“Wow...where’d it go”
“Look up” Ryku said as he then snapped his finger and the trash can fell out of another portal.
“Hey watch it!” Ashley yelled as the trash can fell towards her! It stopped inches from her head as it lightly floated down to the ground.
“Heh thanks I’m guessing that’s your doing” Ashley said to Aurora.
“Yep, forgive my brother he likes to show off, a lot!” she said as she gave her brother a stern look.
“Yeah, ths kid is sort of a hot shot. Not to sure why exactly but he just enjoys being the center of attention.” Michael stated, he was leaning up against a wall generating fire into his right hand, extinguishing it and then regenerating it all over again.
“The cool thing about my power is that the stuff I make disappear stays gone unless I want it to. Also I can transport people inside there as well”
“Heh it beats taking the train” Sasuka said “Sara said you might be able to help locate one of our friends”
“Yeah, I’ve got some information on the place they probably have her...I’m not sure your going to like it though” Ryku said.
“Look I don’t care, it could be hell for all it’s worth if she’s alive we have to find her, if not for her sake then at the very least for Alex’s”Sasuka said.
“Heh, good thing you don’t mind Hell cause this place is the next best thing.” Michael stated as he turned to go inside the pizzeria next door. Everyone else followed suite. His words puzzled everyone except for Ryku and Aurora.
“That reminds me where is Alex, I’ve heard so much about him I wanted to meet him”Aurora asked eagerly.
“Umm yeah, right now might not be the best of times to talk to him”Sara said
“Huh why?”
“Well, he’s not exactly himself right now, you know after all that’s happened”
“Oh...ok”
“Now back to this place”Sasuka asked again after everyone had sat down at a booth and made their orders.
“Yeah the place you want to go...is the Valley of Death”Ryku said in a grave tone.
“Whoa you mean that place actually exists”Ashley said.
“Oh yeah it’s real alright and I hate to break it to you, but if your friends there, there’s no way you’ll be getting her back”Michael cut in.
“What do you mean by that?” Ashley asked
“Look there’s a very good reason why I’m telling you this. Going there would mean death for all of you.”Michael said
“What makes you so sure you don’t even know us or our abilities.” Sasuka said angrily.
“I know”Sara said quietly.
“Huh what is it”
“Seven years ago a group of elemental’s...actually an army of elemental’s went to attack the demons living in the valley of death. A hundred elemental’s in all...everyone save for Ryku, Aurora, Michael, Ba’shaal, the Element alist, Siren, and myself that I know of died.”
“How can that be?” Ashley said in wonder
“In the valley of death all the demon’s are given power by some evil source, making them much stronger that normal so that even a lower class demon is a hassle. We were overwhelmed. There were thousands of demon’s and we barely made a dent in the numbers before we had to retreat.” Ryku replied.
“I’m sorry but if they’re keeping your friend alive it’s because they want to kill the rest of you” Aurora said.
“Yeah, I hate to break it to you but, your best bet would be to forget about her” Michael said, seemingly reminiscing about the past.
“That’s probably true. We’ll have to tell Alex and see what he thinks” Sara said.
“No way.” Sasuka replied
“Why not this is Alex we’re talking about”
“No...this is not our Alex. He’s changed, when it comes to Jamie he’s unreasonable, he doesn’t think things through. You saw what happened to that city block. We know it was him. Also if we told him, he un doubtibly would go no matter what the risk. We’ll have to wait to see what we can find out before we tell him”
Later that night...
“Look, it’s decided, Alex is too much of a risk. We can’t tell him, I mean come on he blew up a whole city block! I’m not about to let him know about Jamie. If he finds out...” Sasuka said.
“But is it right for us to let his soul to be tortured while he’s searching for her. We know where she is. I can’t let him be done like that” Ashley said “It’s not right why do we have to lie to him. He doesn’t deserve this pain.”
Outside a person might notice a winged figure standing on the roof top deep in thought listening, to the conversation taking place inside.
“They don’t trust me...heh...I can’t blame them. But, still they weren’t going to tell me. I know where Jamie is that’s good enough for me...to find her I will go through the Valley.” Alex said as he flew off. About a mile out of town he noticed a familiar face standing on a tree top.
“Sasuka what are you doing here?” Alex asked.
“I could ask you the same thing. You know going to the Valley of Death is what they want. Jamie might not even be alive now.”
“So what, I have to at least try.”
“Well then, you’ll have to get through me first.” Sasuka said as he ran atop the tree tops and jumped up and kicked Alex towards the ground. Alex ricocheted off a tree branch and hit Sasuka with a powerful right hook. Sasuka flipped back landing on a tree branch and sent energized cards flying straight towards Alex. Alex swatted them away with his sword, but the blew up as soon as he made contact. The blast sent him flying and Sasuka was right behind him and nailed him with a powerful wind blast. Alex twisted his body in mid air and launched an energy blast that knocked Sasuka off his feet. Alex took advantage of this and teleported behind Sasuka and with a powerful energized punch knocked him unconscious.
“Farewell, old friend” Alex said as he flew off, leaving the unconscious form of Sasuka laying on the ground.
1 week later...
Alex stood before the entrance to the Valley of Death. He had been able to locate it barely due to the fact that he could sense Death’s energy radiating from deep within it. The place had a natural barrier around it to keep unwanted visitors out, but for some reason it had been lowered. Alex figured it was an invitation for him to come in. He knew it was a trap but at that point he didn’t care. His wings appeared as he jumped off a cliff and quicky descended into the valley.
When he landed what awaited him were legions upon legions of the strongest and most foulest demons he had ever seen. He couldn’t even see the end to all these demons he knew that their was easily over a million demon’s there, and he knew he could easily get himself killed doing this, but right then he just didn’t care. Alex summoned his sword as the demons began to charge at him.
*To find her, I will go in to the Valley.* Alex thought as the first demon got to him, Alex sliced him with his sword but it barely even scratched him. At this time Alex knew what he was really up against, the Valley was getting darker by the second, it was then that Alex realized that the barrier to keep things out was closing, meaning that they wanted to keep him in.
8 months later...
“Arrgh this demon is too strong” Sasuka said as his energized card barely made a scratch on the demon.
“This demon! They’re all too strong. It’s like they’ve gotten a power boost.” Ashley said as with that she launched a sound wave to make the earth collapse under some of the demon. “Now Sara!”
“Right” Sara declared as she launched ice spikes onto the demons. Killing a few but there were still too many.
“Argh every time I phase a demon it comes back.” Ryku declared as he fended of a demon with his sword.
“Here let me help” Aurora said as he lifted the demons high into the air with her power of gravity.
“Let’s see how they like this” Michael said cockily as he created metal blades to shoot out from the ground killing the demons. Then suddenly a huge demon appeared stronger than any of the ones the warriors had just defeated.
“Shit, this can’t be happening. His energy is off the chart. If we fight him we don’t stand a chance” Sasuka said as the demon looked at them with evil intent glowing in his eyes. Suddenly the demon was cut in half by some unknown force.
“Huh, what happened?” Michael asked.
“I-it can’t be ALEX!!” Ashley yelled as she recognized he friend.
“Alex...”Sasuka said under his breathe *It can’t be...but it is. He’s much stronger than the last time we saw him. I can feel the energy emitting from him from here. It’s incredible how did he become this strong in this amount of time.*
“Alex it really is you, how are you, where have you been?” Ashley asked with joy.
“There’s no time to chat. I need your help” Alex said coldly his eyes which were usually full of life and energy gazed at Ashley with an icy glare.
“Uh sure man how can we help” Sara asked still dumbfound by his return.
“I’ve found away into the Valley of Death. I can get us there, and through most of the demon’s but I need your guy’s help to do it.”
“How did you find about the Valley of Death?”Ryku asked.
“He overheard us that night and went searching for Jamie.”Sasuka said revealing to everyone else what he had already known.
“Yes, no thanks to you I’ve found out that Jamie is still alive.”
“WHAT!!” Ashley and Sara said in unison.
“Hey man that’s good an all that your girls alive but going to that place is like going straight to death. What makes you sure we can get in there.” Michael asked.
“Because I’ve been there. Your right it is like going to your death. When I first left I tried to find Jamie on my own but I couldn’t do it. It took me a long time to just find out where the Valley of Death was. When I actually reached there I could barely make it near the place. The demons were too powerful, I was almost killed. After many unsuccessful attempts my rage at how weak I was unlocked a hidden power deep within me. With that power I was able to find a safer route through the Valley. But I need you guys to come with me. Our combined power will be needed to finally put an end to Death.”
“So I guess that does explain why your so strong. What do you think guys should we do it?”Sasuka asked.
“Sara...surely you Aurora, Ryku, and Michael would like the chance to avenge your fallen comrades. I can give you the chance you want.” Alex said.
“Hmm I like the idea of giving Death a taste of his own medicine. Ok, I’m in” Ryku said.
“I don’t like fighting personally. But, to avenge the deaths of my friends I will return to the Valley of Death.” Michael exclaimed.
“Looks, like we’re going. And I was just getting to like this place” Aurora stated.
“Well we’re with ya Alex.”Sara said.
“So am I” Ashley exclaimed.
“Sasuka, what about you.” Alex asked.
“I’ll go.” Sasuka said. *Something’s not right about this. I can’t put my finger on it, but something is definitely up.
No one knew exactly why they agreed to this suicide mission. Especially, ryku, Aurora, and Michael. They barely even knew Alex, yet something about him made them want to follow him. Even if it was to the gates of Hell.
“Good, now Ryku teleport us to the Valley of Death” Alex demanded.
“Hey man, look I understand you want to go now. But you have to understand it’s been Hell for us these past eight months. We’ve been attacked everyday. Before we go with you we’re going to need some time to recuperate.” Sasuka announced.
“Hmm, your right. I’m sorry for my brashness. It’s just...never mind. I’m sorry though. Is it all right if I stay with you guys though, you know until your ready that is.” Alex asked, a bit of his old self shining through the darkness of his new exterior.
“Heh, what a stupid thing to ask. Of course Alex, this is just as mush your home as it is ours.” Ashley said. As she hit him playfully on the shoulder.
Just as Sasuka had said everyday demon hordes attacked the weary hero’s. Alex however, was able to defeat the groups with ease, allowing the others to rest up and regain their energy. Alex, they could tell was slowly showing them his old self. He made jokes and played games. He sparred with everyone one night, when Michael boasted that he could easily beat Alex.
“Okay, if you think you can beat me so easily, why don’t we have a little fun and spar a bit?” Alex said with a slight smirk. He stood up and stretched lightly as he began heading towards the entrance to the underground cave.
“Hey, you guys coming?” Alex said to everyone there. “Come on, we can have a little fun. Besides, I want to see how strong everyone has gotten.” Alex said as everyone got up and followed him deep into the abyss of the cave. The darkness encased everything. Right before Alex became totally eclipsed by the darkness a fireball flew past his head. Alex quickly sprinted towards the darkness, using the darkness as a shield to protect him from his adversaries.
Michael charged into the darkness and immediately launched and enormous ring of fire. The darkness only giving slightly to the presence of the light. Michael didn’t see the attack coming but he felt the air behind him and instantly created a metal shield to block the attack. Alex’s energized fist collided with the shield, denting it severely. Michael took this opportunity to reform the shield into a metallic cage for Alex. The cage ensnared Alex leaving him to the mercy of Michael. But before Michael could take the initiative the cage was instantly vaporized by Alex from within. Alex then launched himself at Michael. Michael dodged another energized punch and was barely able to block the following kick, but he lost his footing when Alex launched an energy blast at his feet. Michael back flipped over Alex’s kick and at the same time launched a metal pole at Alex’s feet. Alex jumped over the pole launching himself high into the air. Alex charged up his fist and came crashing down with incredible force. When his fist connected with the ground It instantly shattered it, the resulting shockwaves knocked Michael back against the far wall. Michael had the breath knocked out of him and in an instant Alex was upon him. Alex summoned fire to his hands and launched a continuous stream of fire at Michael, who countered with his own stream of fire. The two were deadlocked in this struggle until a blade of wind swiped Alex across the leg. At this time Ryku and aurora were upon him. Both combining their collective wind powers forcing Alex to give up his assault on Michael.
“Hey he was right where I wanted him! Why don’t you two mind your own business.” Michael shouted, angered by the fact that his opponent used the confusion to disappear.
“We’ll take that as a thank you.” Ryku said flatly as he and his sister began searching for Alex. Suddenly, Alex emerged from the darkness and with a swift motion shot a quick burst of fire at both Ryku and Aurora’s eyes temporarily blinding them. Alex then charged up for an energy attack. Michael hurried to his friends and created a wall of metal right as Alex launched his attack. The shield was instantly vaporized and sent the three friends hurling backwards. Alex launched numerous energy attacks at them to keep them on the run. Suddenly he hear a stranger noise from in front of him, but before he realized what was going on he heard the same noise from behind him. Alex instinctively rolled on the ground, feeling the rush of air above him from the swinging of a sword.
“Heh, I see, you have the power to teleport.” Alex said as he dodged the deadly blade being swung at him.
Alex dodged the sword being lunged at him, but was quickly knocked backwards by a powerful mass of wind. Before Alex could move, he felt himself being forced downwards, realized that Aurora must be using her powers over gravity on him, Alex knew that he would be unable to dodge Ryku’s next attack unless he broke her focus. The only problem was he couldn’t tell where she was. Alex couldn’t tell where anyone was in the darkness, until he heard the distinctive sound of Ryku teleporting, the sound came from directly in front of him. Alex quickly released a small amount of energy from his body, just enough to generate enough light to blind Ryku and anyone near him. Even though the light lasted only a second it was enough for Alex to see where Aurora was standing. Alex quickly launched two energy blasts at the place where he last saw her. Evidently it was enough for the weight upon him quickly vanished, just in time for Alex to dodge Ryku’s sword. Alex quickly kneed Ryku in the stomach and then with both hands knocked him towards the ground. Alex then quickly turned his attention towards Aurora. Before she had the chance to recover her control of gravity around him Alex launched a huge mass of energy blasts all around her. He then ran up to her and grabbed both her arms and twisted them around to her back. He then launched her forwards with a light energy blast sending her flying in the direction of her brother.
As soon as he did this Alex had the breath knocked out of him by a metal pole. Michael was launching numerous strikes from the now razor sharp spear, leaving Alex no time to catch his breath. Finally, Alex managed to grab hold of the end of Michael’s spear. Before Michael could change the form of his weapon Alex launched an energy blast at Michael’s forehead knocking him out.
Alex only had a moment then for being hit by two familiar attacks. Alex’s feet were frozen to the ground only to have him then be sent flying by sonic waves. Alex dodged the ice spike being hurled at him, but was instantly kicked in the head from behind him. Alex rolled with the kick and launched his own sweeping kick, knocking Ashley off her feet. Alex was then pummeled by a large torrent of water causing him to lose his footing and send him flying away from the two girls. Alex got up in time to be knocked back down by a sonic blast from Ashley, he was then greeted by a large ice blast aimed for his head. Alex countered the attack with a quick burst of fire, and then Alex started being on the offensive. Alex immediately punched the ground, sending shockwaves running through it. The shockwaves knocked the girls of their feet, but before they were able to hit the ground they were instantly sent sprawling backwards by another energy attack. Alex then quickly picked them both up by the back of their necks and sent them flying forwards with a quick energy blast.
Alex was instantly aware of Sasuka’s presence as he dodged one of Sasuka’s energized cards.
“Heh, now for the real fun to begin.” Alex said wildly as he ran towards Sasuka.
Sasuka dodged Alex’s attack and launched Alex forwards with a gust of wind. Alex immediately flipped over the ground and launched himself at Sasuka again. This time when Sasuka dodged Alex’s punch he was caught in the face by Alex’s knee. Sasuka was knocked to the ground but quickly recovered. He then launched a torrent of energized cards at Alex. Alex instantly vaporized them with an energy attack, but as the dust cleared Alex was knocked backwards by Sasuka’s energized kick. Alex ricocheted off the wall and launched a quick succession of energy blasts at Sasuka. Sasuka blocked all the attacks with an energized shield a launched a vortex of wind at the flying form of Alex. Alex was violently thrown towards the cave wall and was continually being pummeled by the strong winds. Alex, however was able to get his legs behind him and launch himself off of the wall with a great deal of energy. When he landed he was greeted by Sasuka’s foot in his face. Alex was knocked flat on his back and was barely able to roll to the side in time to dodge Sasuka’s energized punch. Alex then swept Sasuka off his feet and quickly caught Sasuka in the stomach with an energized punch. Alex, with his hand still at Sasuka’s stomach, launched an energy blast which knocked Sasuka out cold.
“Heh, well that was fun.” Alex said wearily as he knelt down to catch his breath.
A week later everyone was back to full strength. It was already obvious that Sasuka, Ashley, and Sara were glad to have Alex back and it seemed that Aurora and Ryku had also grown fond of Alex also. They saw the kind hearted, caring person Alex used to be, fortunately they had yet to see his dark side. Michael, well it was hard to tell if Michael liked Alex or not, but he did have a lot of respect for Alex after Alex beat him in sparring. Finally, everyone was ready for what they all felt would be their final adventure.
