“Yes no thanks to you. You would have let me die but Death saved me. And now thanks to him I have more than enough power to defeat you!” Lyle said with vengeance coursing through every vein in his body. His hair was longer and his eyes glowed red filled with dark energy. His skin was a greyish white and strange tattoo’s appeared on his arms.
“Lyle, I don’t want to fight you, you’re my friend remember” Alex cautiously said afraid the wrong words might cause Lyle to attack sooner.
“Heh friends would’ve helped me, friends would’ve saved me, friends would have saved me from Death!” Lyle yelled as he teleported behind Alex and knocked him clear across the room. Before Alex hit the wall Lyle was behind him once again and this time launched a powerful lightning attack at him.
“Lyle listen to me, this isn’t the real you, don’t let Death control you.” Alex pleaded with Lyle. Lyle seemingly oblivious to all that surrounded him, knocked Alex back.
“Oh so now you won’t fight me. You didn’t mind it before, that is, you didn’t mind it when you could defeat me. But now that I am stronger, now you don’t want to fight! Don’t make me laugh!” With that Lyle charged up and energy blast of enormous proportions underneath him symbols appeared in a circular pattern.
“Lyle don’t! You’ll kill him” Ashley screamed.
“Oh don’t worry, you’ll be next. Don’t think I forgot it was you that sentenced me to this place. Now watch as someone you care about dies before your eyes once again! GOD OF THUNDER ULTIMATE JUDGEMENT RAIGEKI” Lyle yelled as he summoned an enormous lightning blast that erupted at the spot where the dazed Alex laid helpless. The impact of the blast sent shockwaves throughout the place, knocking everyone back.
“Heh, he wasn’t as tough as you made him out to be.” Lyle said arrogantly to the form of Death who was watching from above them.
“Don’t be so cocky just yet. This battle is far from over.” Death said knowing full well that the Archangel wasn’t fighting yet, but if Lyle continued on not even the Archangel’s caring nature would keep him from defeating Lyle.
As the smoke from the blast receded the form of someone could be seen.
“Alex your alive” Jamie said gratefully tears streaming down her face.
“No way,”Lyle said as he turned around the anger he felt displaying itself on his face.
The glowing forms of Alex’s eyes could be seen as he stepped forward.
“You tried to kill me, now it’s my turn” Alex said. As he stepped forward symbols could be made out on his face.
*I hate doing this, but I can’t defeat him with my normal power. I’ll have to use some of my dark energy.*
“Huh, A-Alex, are you ok” Jamie asked wearily.
*This doesn’t make sense, even after that enormous attack, his energy hasn’t decreased any, its actually increased. Also, he has the markings on his face like Lyle has, as if he’s being controlled by Death. But it’s definitely the Alex we know who’s standing before us.*
“Lyle, I don’t want to hurt you, Lyle please fight Death’s control on you.” Alex declared as he summoned his sword by his side “But know this I won’t hesitate to fight you if you make me”
“Heh, you fool, no one can control me! Not you and not even Death. I let him give me this power so I could defeat you. My hearts true essence is darkness, that’s all that’s in my heart now. So anything I do, is by my own will!” With that Lyle disappeared and came up behind Alex summoning his own sword he slashed down at Alex. Alex blocked the attack and teleported behind Lyle blasting him with energy. Lyle flipped back to the ground and launched himself up, unleashing a lightning vortex at the same time. The vortex knocked Alex back into the wall, before Lyle could make contact with his follow up attack, Alex disappeared and launches an energized attack through his sword. The attack cut Lyle across, his chest and knocked him back. Lyle quickly rebounded and despite his sword’s enormous size was able to counter everyone of Alex’s attacks. Alex shoved Lyle backwards only to be knocked backwards by a powerful lightning attack. Alex was stunned only for a second but that was enough for Lyle to close the gap between him and Alex and launch another vortex out of his blade. Alex managed to deflect the attack but was soon put back on the defensive by a barrage of energy attacks being launched by Lyle. Lyle lunged at Alex again but this time Alex dodged, before Lyle passed him Alex summoned a quick burst of fire to his hand. The flame was small but bright and the quick ignition of it temporarily stunned Lyle. Alex took this time to quickly knock Lyle backwards with an energized roundhouse kick. Alex then teleported to Lyle and backhanded him with the hilt of the sword.
“H-how, I was defeating you. I’m stronger now.” Lyle said as he tried to heal his wounds.
“Lyle, you say your heart is full of darkness, but I know wherever there is darkness their must also be light!” With that Alex unleashed a blinding light that surrounded Lyle.
“Lyle I don’t know what happened to you. But, only you can break free of whatever he did to you. Now maybe you can see the light.” Lyle stood dazed as if in a trance.
“Lyle, I know you have a good heart. Remember when we first met, you jumped in front of that attack to save me. Please, come back to us” Sara said.
Inside Lyle’s mind a war was being raged. The forces of light and dark fought for control of him and his sanity. Slowly his skin returned to normal color, but the tatoo’s still remained.
“Lyle?” Jamie asked as Lyle stood motionless.
“Heh, that’s my name don’t wear it out” Lyle said as a smile crept along his face.”Geez Alex, do you always have to upstage me.”
“Heh, only when you get to cocky Lyle. Great to have you back” Alex said as he suddenly turned around, ready for battle.
“Once again my plans have be ruined because of you! But, oh well. Heh, because no matter how strong you are I will always be stronger than you. And also nice touch with that witty ‘where there is darkness there must also be light phrase’ very nice. Now, it’s my turn, because you’ll be able to see just how evil you can really be.” Death said as he appeared.
“What are you talking about” Ashley asked as she tensed for battle.
“Oh, you’ll find out. Just take a look inside this portal.” Death gleamed as he cut a rift in the room opening up a portal.
“More minions of yours Death! You know none of your servants could defeat us.” Michael said as he slowly advanced upon Death.
“Oh your very right, but why send the pawns to battle, when you can when you can send out your knights.”
“Cut that crap Death what do you mean by that?” Lyle said annoyed at the wait, he desperately wanted a piece of Death.
“Heh, such a tongue for someone who was a few seconds ago following my every order. Don’t you remember my special surprise for our dear friends?” Death said in mock amusement, knowing full well that he wasn’t in any real danger.
“What, no you can’t mean” Lyle said as looked up in horror as he realized what Death was about to do.
“Precisely, until next time hero’s” Death said as he suddenly vanished.
“What’s going on Lyle, what was he talking about” Alex asked wearily.
“Look for your self” was all Lyle could say as everyone turned towards the portal. There stepping out of the portal was Alex! But he was different, for this Alex was a demon.
“Ah, SHIT!, it’s times like these that I wish I’d stayed in bed” Sasuka said as his alter ego emerged along with everyone else’s.
“We’ve got to get out of here, we’re in no condition to fight. Plus these guys have all our powers, and their powers are being amplified because of where we are.” Lyle said as everyone began backing up.
“No I can fight them.” Alex said “All I’ll have to do is unleash some more of my dark energy and I can easily fight them”
“Alex don’t who knows if you’ll be able to control yourself if you unleash anymore than you already have” Sasuka said.
“You have any better ideas” Alex replied, and with that unleashed a tremendous amount of dark energy. The symbols on his arms darkened and also appeared on his face. His ears grew points on them and his hands became like talons.
“Aaargh” Alex screamed in agony. His eyes began to flicker to red, when suddenly the demon form of Sasuka tried to attack him. Sasuka launched flaming energized cards at Alex. Each one filled with enough energy to destroy the place where they were fighting. Alex simply waved his hand and completely vaporized all of them. Alex then teleported behind Sasuka and knocked him clear across the room, before Sasuke hit the wall Alex was behind him and pieced Sasuka through the chest with his taloned hand. Alex then tossed the badly injured Sasuka headfirst into the real Sasuka! Alex turned towards the real Lyle an began to advance on him.
“Ah shit, he won’t be able to control. Jamie try to calm him down before he kills all of us.” Lyle said.
“Umm right ok” Jamie said as she tried to stop Alex. “Alex snap out of it, come on Alex. Alex. ALEX!” Nothing seemed to get through to him.
“Ah...J-Jamie, the mixing of light and dark energy, it’s clouding his mind even more. Every time he uses the dark energy, he’ll slip further and further into darkness. Until eventually he’ll end up like his doppleganger over there” Sasuka said weakly as the breathe slowly returned to him.
“Alex, grrr, Alex listen to me.” Jamie said frustrated finally she resorted to her normal course of action ‘SLAP!’ the sound of her hitting Alex echoed through out the building. The demon forms of everyone, which had backed off after seeing what Alex had just done to their comrade, slowly began to advance towards everyone stopped in their tracks. Alex’s head turns slowly as he looks at Jamie.
“Ummm Alex ? Heh, I’m sorry if I made you mad an all” Jamie said as she saw in his eyes her own destruction. Alex raised his taloned hand and ripped across her chest and stomach in one swift motion. Jamie fell to the ground in extreme agony as she started to bleed to death.
“Holy shit, ALEX!, how could you do that you cared about her, you BASTARD!” Lyle yelled as he ran to Jamie to make sure she was ok. Alex stood their emotionless but Sasuka could tell their was a flicker of the old Alex.
“Alex listen to me, we need you to heal Jamie or she’ll die” Sasuka said calmly.
Alex, Sasuka could tell, was finally coming around, in that instant their dopplegangers began their attack. The evil Ashley launched sonic blades out of her hands aimed for Michael, before it hit him he summoned a metal wall which was completely demolished the wall and severely injured Michael. Michael flipped backwards and launched multiple flaming iron blades at Demon Ashley who simple laughed and blew out the flames with her sonic’s and blocked the weapons with her hands.
Sara was caught be surprise as she was attacked by Lyle’s doppleganger who knocked her back with a lightning attack. Sara flipped back from the attack and launched ice spears at Demon Lyle who cut the spears in half with his sword. Lyle then charged towards Sara, who could barely do anything but throw up an ice shield which knocked back Lyle’s attack. She then launched ice blades from her staff which cut Lyle across the chest. Lyle then launches his lightning vortex which caught Sara off guard and knocked her back.
Ryku was caught in the midst of battle with his alternate form. Each of them using the power of void to teleport trying the get the upper hand. Ryku then teleported behind his alternate form an opened up another void. He immediatly teleported again as his doppleganger followed him. When his alternate form came out of the void he was greeted by Ryku’s Turbulent void which Ryku had set before he teleported. The void ripped at the doppleaganger and sent him flying backwards, but Demon Ryku was barely hurt by the attack and launched himself forwards opening up a void in front of him and launching his blade into it. He then teleported in front of Ryku and attacked him with an energized punch which sent him reeling. Before Ryku could recover he was pinned to the wall by Demon Ryku’s sword which had appeared from the void and pierced him.
Ashley fought Jamie’s doppleganger who was forcing Ashley back by launching boulders at her and assaulting her with energy blasts. Ashley sent a sonic blades from her hands which sliced through the rocks and flipped over the energy blasts. Ashley launched an attack at Jamie by energizing her dagger and launching it Jamie dodged it but the dagger came back around and nailed her in the shoulder. Jamie’s dopplegagner got mad and captured Ashley between to rocks almost crushing her to death.
“Alex listen your friend are dying, they need your help please snap out of it. We need you, Jamie needs you” Sasuka said trying to bring back their friend.
“Alex you jerk. You said that wherever there is darkness their must also be light. You have one of the strongest wills of anyone I know. You’ve got to gain control man.” Lyle said as he tried to stop Jamie’s bleeding. Lyle knew what he said got through to Alex because he saw Alex’s demeanor begin to change. Eventually Alex powered down and the symbols on his arms disappeared.
“Glad to have you back man, but hurry and heal Jamie” Sasuka said as he helped the weakened Alex to her.
“Why...Jamie....I’m so sorry” Alex said with tears in his eyes and healed the unconscious form of his friend.
“Michael get over here quick.” Alex yelled as Lyle quickly helped Ashley out of her predicament. And Aurora knocked back her brother’s assailant long enough to free him. “ There’s no way we can fight them, Michael, Lyle, combine your powers with mine. Let’s shed some light on this situation” Alex said as he, Michael and Lyle charged up for a powerful attack. The demons however meant they weren’t going to allow them to. Demon Alex charged towards them as he charged up for his ultimate attack.
“Shit we’ll need more time” Michael yelled. Suddenly their was a burst of light as the doppleganger of Alex launched his attack. Before it reached the preoccupied hero’s however Ashley jumped in the way.
“Ashley noo” Sasuka yelled as he saw what happened, Sasuka dropped on his knees in shock.
“It’s ok. I’m glad I could help you guys. Take care...goodbye Sasuka, I love you.” Ashley declared as she summoned her remaining energy to create a shield to protect her friends. After the light faded their was nothing left of her.
“You BASTARDS!” Michael yelled!
“Look Michael we can’t fight them. Their might be a chance to bring her back if we survive quickly lets stick with the plan” Alex said...” Ok NOW!”
With that Alex and Michael launched a huge amount of fire energy combined with Lyle’s lightning power it created and enormous solar flare which blinded the demons.
“Now Ryku if you don’t mind” Aurora said coyly to her brother as he opened up a portal that teleported them back home.
As the tattered and broken group tried to recover from what happened Alex healed his friends. Jamie was still unconscious though so Sasuka carried her to her room and laid her down.
“Alex, now that you’ve healed everyone else is there anyway you can bring Ashley back?” Michael asked.
“Umm, I’m not sure how to say this, but I can’t bring her back” Alex said as he looked down at the ground.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T BRING HER BACK!” Michael erupted. Flames began to surge around him as his anger mounted.
“You see, if their body has been completely destroyed I can’t bring her back to life.”
“Damn you straight to hell. You said you would bring her back.”
“Look, Ashley was a goner. She sacrificed herself so we could live. If you’d been mourning her death, we wouldn’t have had enough energy to get free. Then her death would have been in vain. So I had to get you to snap out of it.”
“You bastard! How could you do that?”
“He did it for the good of all of us.” Sasuka declared quietly.
“Sasuka you of all people should be upset, you loved her, why wouldn’t you try everything in your power to bring her back.” Michael stated oblivious to the fact that it was all Sasuka could do to keep from punching Michael’s lights out. “You’re even more heartless than Alex.”
With a lightning fast motion Sasuka punched Michael with such force that it knocked him to the ground.
“How could you call me, heartless. Believe me, if I could I would do anything to bring her back. Just so I could hold her in my arms once more. B-but that would take a miracle. And I think we’ve used up all of ours.” Sasuka sadly stated. His head hung low as tears could be seen streaking his face.
“Actually, there is a way” Aurora stated calmly as if speaking to children.
“Please do not be joking. Is there really a way to bring Ashley back” Sasuka asked his face showing his doubtfulness but his words echoing his hope.
“It’s called the Resurrection Ritual. Normally it would be impossible to pull off, but with Alex’s healing powers and the dark powers he received from Death he might be able to. But he’ll need a tremendous amount of energy to do it.”
“Heh, yeah I’ve heard of that. A demon I met during the time I was gone mentioned something about it. But I don’t have near enough energy to pull it off.” Alex said.
“Well what if I give you some of my energy.” Michael asked.
“No Michael it should be me to give the energy” Sasuka said as he stood up.
“Aww pipe down. We both know your almost completely out of energy. There’s no way you’d have enough. I cared about Ashley like a sister, and I couldn’t bare the thought of losing another friend to those demons. So please let me do this as a favor to you.” Michael said as he placed his hand on Sasuka’s shoulder.
“Thank you. But are you sure it will work.”
“Hmm it should work. If you link your power’s together you might be able to pull off the ritual.” Ryku added.
“Heh, sure why not, but after this I’m going to need a good rest.” Alex declared “Okay Michael I’ve never actually tried this before, but stand in front of me.”
“O-okay” Michael said wearily as he stepped in front of Alex. Alex clasped his hands together as he summoned his remaining energy his eyes began to glow as he started saying words under his breathe. He then moved his hands towards Michael and shot him with a beam of light.
“Aaargh” Michael yelled in pain. A light cross appeared on his forehead, red energy could be seen coming from him. It amounted next to him, in a glowing orb. The orb began to take the form of human. Then a huge flash of light erupted from the orb. When the light vanished there standing in front of them was Ashley.
“W-what happened, am I-am I alive?” Ashley said totally confused.
“Ahhh” Alex and Michael both said in unison, they had completely exhausted their energy and were now feeling the effects.
“Heh, those two used up most of their energy to bring you back to life” Sasuka said as he pointed to Alex and Michael.
“They brought me back, b-but how?” Ashley said as she threw her hands out in wonder, but from her hands shot out burning flames.
“Whoa watch where you throw those” Lyle said as he almost got his pants caught on fire.
“H-how did I do that” Ashley asked.
“Hmm it seems when Michael gave his energy to bring you back, you absorbed some of his power over fire. That’s one of the possible side affects of the ritual” Ryku spoke up.
“Awesome, umm are they okay” Ashley said in concern.
“Heh, yeah we’re fine. A little worse for ware but other wise fine.” Alex announced as he got up and helped Michael up.
“Oh THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!” Ashley yelled as she hugged them both graciously.
“Your welcome Ashley, honestly Michael is the one that enabled you to do it not me.” Alex said.
“Really, thank you Michael, I thought I’d never see you guys again. I thought if I was vaporized, you couldn’t heal me? I mean I’m not complaining or anything.”
“Well, there’s a special ritual, that if invoked by the powers of darkness and light, and a great amount of healing and spirit energy will be sufficient enough to bring someone back to life” Aurora stated.
“Awesome, thanks again”
“Hey, you make it sound like we wouldn’t do everything in our power to bring ya back” Michael said matter of factly. Ashley wasn’t paying much attention however as she was being embraced by her loved one. Her and Sasuka stood their encumbered in their own little world.
“Ahh how sweet.” Aurora said.
“Yeah a regular couple of love birds” Lyle said sarcastically.
“So everyone made it out ok? Umm, where’s Jamie?” Ashely asked after her and Sasuka had finally unlocked themselves from one another.
“She’s in her room, unconscious, alive, but unconscious. Her body is fine, it’s just her brain has gone through a great amount of shock and abuse.” Sara said as she came out from the back room.
“Ohh” Ashley said as everyone turned their glances towards Alex.
“Alex, I know you probably don’t want to tell us, but we need to know what happened to you while you were gone” Sasuka said.
“I found out some things about my past, some things I really didn’t want to know. I went to Hell, and came out with a darkness burned deep inside of me. I’m not staying here with you guys, not until I can control that darkness” Alex stated as he looked towards the ground, downcast by what he was telling his friends.
“What, no way, your not leaving us again, right when we need you the most” Lyle yelled in rage.
“Oh yeah, would you rather me go out of control again, when you need me the most, and slaughter you guys instead of the enemy. That’s a risk I’m not willing to take. I couldn’t live with myself if I hurt one of my friends again.”
“Have you forgotten about are evil psycho clones out there bent on our destruction!” Michael argued.
“No, but I know now without a shadow of a doubt, you guys are strong enough to defeat them. As long as you guys work together as team, like you did today, no one can stand in your way.”
“Alex, please don’t go, what will we tell Jamie when she wakes up.” Aurora asked.
“What if Jamie never wakes up. I can’t live with myself, staying here knowing that she’s in that situation because of me!” Alex said the pain he kept hidden coming out momentarily before he regained his composure.
“But Alex...” Ashley was about to say when suddenly Alex cut in.
“Heh, you can’t change my mind goodbye, take care” was all he said when suddenly he disappeared.
“W-what happened? When did he learn that trick” Michael asked.
“Heh, it’s not that hard, all he did was momentarily use his light powers to obstruct our vision so he could use his powers to flee away from his problems. He’d rather run away, and keep his emotions bottled up then face them. “Lyle how can you possibly know that?” Ryku asked.

“Lyle, you say your heart is full of darkness, but I know wherever there is darkness their must also be light!” With that Alex unleashed a blinding light that surrounded Lyle.
“Lyle I don’t know what happened to you. But, only you can break free of whatever he did to you. Now maybe you can see the light.” Lyle stood dazed as if in a trance.
“Lyle, I know you have a good heart. Remember when we first met, you jumped in front of that attack to save me. Please, come back to us” Sara said.
Inside Lyle’s mind a war was being raged. The forces of light and dark fought for control of him and his sanity. Slowly his skin returned to normal color, but the tatoo’s still remained.
“Lyle?” Jamie asked as Lyle stood motionless.
“Heh, that’s my name don’t wear it out” Lyle said as a smile crept along his face.”Geez Alex, do you always have to upstage me.”
“Heh, only when you get to cocky Lyle. Great to have you back” Alex said as he suddenly turned around, ready for battle.
“Once again my plans have be ruined because of you! But, oh well. Heh, because no matter how strong you are I will always be stronger than you. And also nice touch with that witty ‘where there is darkness there must also be light phrase’ very nice. Now, it’s my turn, because you’ll be able to see just how evil you can really be.” Death said as he appeared.
“What are you talking about” Ashley asked as she tensed for battle.
“Oh, you’ll find out. Just take a look inside this portal.” Death gleamed as he cut a rift in the room opening up a portal.
“More minions of yours Death! You know none of your servants could defeat us.” Michael said as he slowly advanced upon Death.
“Oh your very right, but why send the pawns to battle, when you can when you can send out your knights.”
“Cut that crap Death what do you mean by that?” Lyle said annoyed at the wait, he desperately wanted a piece of Death.
“Heh, such a tongue for someone who was a few seconds ago following my every order. Don’t you remember my special surprise for our dear friends?” Death said in mock amusement, knowing full well that he wasn’t in any real danger.
“What, no you can’t mean” Lyle said as looked up in horror as he realized what Death was about to do.
“Precisely, until next time hero’s” Death said as he suddenly vanished.
“What’s going on Lyle, what was he talking about” Alex asked wearily.
“Look for your self” was all Lyle could say as everyone turned towards the portal. There stepping out of the portal was Alex! But he was different, for this Alex was a demon.
“Ah, SHIT!, it’s times like these that I wish I’d stayed in bed” Sasuka said as his alter ego emerged along with everyone else’s.
“We’ve got to get out of here, we’re in no condition to fight. Plus these guys have all our powers, and their powers are being amplified because of where we are.” Lyle said as everyone began backing up.
“No I can fight them.” Alex said “All I’ll have to do is unleash some more of my dark energy and I can easily fight them”
“Alex don’t who knows if you’ll be able to control yourself if you unleash anymore than you already have” Sasuka said.
“You have any better ideas” Alex replied, and with that unleashed a tremendous amount of dark energy. The symbols on his arms darkened and also appeared on his face. His ears grew points on them and his hands became like talons.
“Aaargh” Alex screamed in agony. His eyes began to flicker to red, when suddenly the demon form of Sasuka tried to attack him. Sasuka launched flaming energized cards at Alex. Each one filled with enough energy to destroy the place where they were fighting. Alex simply waved his hand and completely vaporized all of them. Alex then teleported behind Sasuka and knocked him clear across the room, before Sasuke hit the wall Alex was behind him and pieced Sasuka through the chest with his taloned hand. Alex then tossed the badly injured Sasuka headfirst into the real Sasuka! Alex turned towards the real Lyle an began to advance on him.
“Ah shit, he won’t be able to control. Jamie try to calm him down before he kills all of us.” Lyle said.
“Umm right ok” Jamie said as she tried to stop Alex. “Alex snap out of it, come on Alex. Alex. ALEX!” Nothing seemed to get through to him.
“Ah...J-Jamie, the mixing of light and dark energy, it’s clouding his mind even more. Every time he uses the dark energy, he’ll slip further and further into darkness. Until eventually he’ll end up like his doppleganger over there” Sasuka said weakly as the breathe slowly returned to him.
“Alex, grrr, Alex listen to me.” Jamie said frustrated finally she resorted to her normal course of action ‘SLAP!’ the sound of her hitting Alex echoed through out the building. The demon forms of everyone, which had backed off after seeing what Alex had just done to their comrade, slowly began to advance towards everyone stopped in their tracks. Alex’s head turns slowly as he looks at Jamie.
“Ummm Alex ? Heh, I’m sorry if I made you mad an all” Jamie said as she saw in his eyes her own destruction. Alex raised his taloned hand and ripped across her chest and stomach in one swift motion. Jamie fell to the ground in extreme agony as she started to bleed to death.
“Holy shit, ALEX!, how could you do that you cared about her, you BASTARD!” Lyle yelled as he ran to Jamie to make sure she was ok. Alex stood their emotionless but Sasuka could tell their was a flicker of the old Alex.
“Alex listen to me, we need you to heal Jamie or she’ll die” Sasuka said calmly.
Alex, Sasuka could tell, was finally coming around, in that instant their dopplegangers began their attack. The evil Ashley launched sonic blades out of her hands aimed for Michael, before it hit him he summoned a metal wall which was completely demolished the wall and severely injured Michael. Michael flipped backwards and launched multiple flaming iron blades at Demon Ashley who simple laughed and blew out the flames with her sonic’s and blocked the weapons with her hands.
Sara was caught be surprise as she was attacked by Lyle’s doppleganger who knocked her back with a lightning attack. Sara flipped back from the attack and launched ice spears at Demon Lyle who cut the spears in half with his sword. Lyle then charged towards Sara, who could barely do anything but throw up an ice shield which knocked back Lyle’s attack. She then launched ice blades from her staff which cut Lyle across the chest. Lyle then launches his lightning vortex which caught Sara off guard and knocked her back.
Ryku was caught in the midst of battle with his alternate form. Each of them using the power of void to teleport trying the get the upper hand. Ryku then teleported behind his alternate form an opened up another void. He immediatly teleported again as his doppleganger followed him. When his alternate form came out of the void he was greeted by Ryku’s Turbulent void which Ryku had set before he teleported. The void ripped at the doppleaganger and sent him flying backwards, but Demon Ryku was barely hurt by the attack and launched himself forwards opening up a void in front of him and launching his blade into it. He then teleported in front of Ryku and attacked him with an energized punch which sent him reeling. Before Ryku could recover he was pinned to the wall by Demon Ryku’s sword which had appeared from the void and pierced him.
Ashley fought Jamie’s doppleganger who was forcing Ashley back by launching boulders at her and assaulting her with energy blasts. Ashley sent a sonic blades from her hands which sliced through the rocks and flipped over the energy blasts. Ashley launched an attack at Jamie by energizing her dagger and launching it Jamie dodged it but the dagger came back around and nailed her in the shoulder. Jamie’s dopplegagner got mad and captured Ashley between to rocks almost crushing her to death.
“Alex listen your friend are dying, they need your help please snap out of it. We need you, Jamie needs you” Sasuka said trying to bring back their friend.
“Alex you jerk. You said that wherever there is darkness their must also be light. You have one of the strongest wills of anyone I know. You’ve got to gain control man.” Lyle said as he tried to stop Jamie’s bleeding. Lyle knew what he said got through to Alex because he saw Alex’s demeanor begin to change. Eventually Alex powered down and the symbols on his arms disappeared.
“Glad to have you back man, but hurry and heal Jamie” Sasuka said as he helped the weakened Alex to her.
“Why...Jamie....I’m so sorry” Alex said with tears in his eyes and healed the unconscious form of his friend.
“Michael get over here quick.” Alex yelled as Lyle quickly helped Ashley out of her predicament. And Aurora knocked back her brother’s assailant long enough to free him. “ There’s no way we can fight them, Michael, Lyle, combine your powers with mine. Let’s shed some light on this situation” Alex said as he, Michael and Lyle charged up for a powerful attack. The demons however meant they weren’t going to allow them to. Demon Alex charged towards them as he charged up for his ultimate attack.
“Shit we’ll need more time” Michael yelled. Suddenly their was a burst of light as the doppleganger of Alex launched his attack. Before it reached the preoccupied hero’s however Ashley jumped in the way.
“Ashley noo” Sasuka yelled as he saw what happened, Sasuka dropped on his knees in shock.
“It’s ok. I’m glad I could help you guys. Take care...goodbye Sasuka, I love you.” Ashley declared as she summoned her remaining energy to create a shield to protect her friends. After the light faded their was nothing left of her.
“You BASTARDS!” Michael yelled!
“Look Michael we can’t fight them. Their might be a chance to bring her back if we survive quickly lets stick with the plan” Alex said...” Ok NOW!”
With that Alex and Michael launched a huge amount of fire energy combined with Lyle’s lightning power it created and enormous solar flare which blinded the demons.
“Now Ryku if you don’t mind” Aurora said coyly to her brother as he opened up a portal that teleported them back home.
As the tattered and broken group tried to recover from what happened Alex healed his friends. Jamie was still unconscious though so Sasuka carried her to her room and laid her down.
“Alex, now that you’ve healed everyone else is there anyway you can bring Ashley back?” Michael asked.
“Umm, I’m not sure how to say this, but I can’t bring her back” Alex said as he looked down at the ground.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T BRING HER BACK!” Michael erupted. Flames began to surge around him as his anger mounted.
“You see, if their body has been completely destroyed I can’t bring her back to life.”
“Damn you straight to hell. You said you would bring her back.”
“Look, Ashley was a goner. She sacrificed herself so we could live. If you’d been mourning her death, we wouldn’t have had enough energy to get free. Then her death would have been in vain. So I had to get you to snap out of it.”
“You bastard! How could you do that?”
“He did it for the good of all of us.” Sasuka declared quietly.
“Sasuka you of all people should be upset, you loved her, why wouldn’t you try everything in your power to bring her back.” Michael stated oblivious to the fact that it was all Sasuka could do to keep from punching Michael’s lights out. “You’re even more heartless than Alex.”
With a lightning fast motion Sasuka punched Michael with such force that it knocked him to the ground.
“How could you call me, heartless. Believe me, if I could I would do anything to bring her back. Just so I could hold her in my arms once more. B-but that would take a miracle. And I think we’ve used up all of ours.” Sasuka sadly stated. His head hung low as tears could be seen streaking his face.
“Actually, there is a way” Aurora stated calmly as if speaking to children.
“Please do not be joking. Is there really a way to bring Ashley back” Sasuka asked his face showing his doubtfulness but his words echoing his hope.
“It’s called the Resurrection Ritual. Normally it would be impossible to pull off, but with Alex’s healing powers and the dark powers he received from Death he might be able to. But he’ll need a tremendous amount of energy to do it.”
“Heh, yeah I’ve heard of that. A demon I met during the time I was gone mentioned something about it. But I don’t have near enough energy to pull it off.” Alex said.
“Well what if I give you some of my energy.” Michael asked.
“No Michael it should be me to give the energy” Sasuka said as he stood up.
“Aww pipe down. We both know your almost completely out of energy. There’s no way you’d have enough. I cared about Ashley like a sister, and I couldn’t bare the thought of losing another friend to those demons. So please let me do this as a favor to you.” Michael said as he placed his hand on Sasuka’s shoulder.
“Thank you. But are you sure it will work.”
“Hmm it should work. If you link your power’s together you might be able to pull off the ritual.” Ryku added.
“Heh, sure why not, but after this I’m going to need a good rest.” Alex declared “Okay Michael I’ve never actually tried this before, but stand in front of me.”
“O-okay” Michael said wearily as he stepped in front of Alex. Alex clasped his hands together as he summoned his remaining energy his eyes began to glow as he started saying words under his breathe. He then moved his hands towards Michael and shot him with a beam of light.
“Aaargh” Michael yelled in pain. A light cross appeared on his forehead, red energy could be seen coming from him. It amounted next to him, in a glowing orb. The orb began to take the form of human. Then a huge flash of light erupted from the orb. When the light vanished there standing in front of them was Ashley.
“W-what happened, am I-am I alive?” Ashley said totally confused.
“Ahhh” Alex and Michael both said in unison, they had completely exhausted their energy and were now feeling the effects.
“Heh, those two used up most of their energy to bring you back to life” Sasuka said as he pointed to Alex and Michael.
“They brought me back, b-but how?” Ashley said as she threw her hands out in wonder, but from her hands shot out burning flames.
“Whoa watch where you throw those” Lyle said as he almost got his pants caught on fire.
“H-how did I do that” Ashley asked.
“Hmm it seems when Michael gave his energy to bring you back, you absorbed some of his power over fire. That’s one of the possible side affects of the ritual” Ryku spoke up.
“Awesome, umm are they okay” Ashley said in concern.
“Heh, yeah we’re fine. A little worse for ware but other wise fine.” Alex announced as he got up and helped Michael up.
“Oh THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!” Ashley yelled as she hugged them both graciously.
“Your welcome Ashley, honestly Michael is the one that enabled you to do it not me.” Alex said.
“Really, thank you Michael, I thought I’d never see you guys again. I thought if I was vaporized, you couldn’t heal me? I mean I’m not complaining or anything.”
“Well, there’s a special ritual, that if invoked by the powers of darkness and light, and a great amount of healing and spirit energy will be sufficient enough to bring someone back to life” Aurora stated.
“Awesome, thanks again”
“Hey, you make it sound like we wouldn’t do everything in our power to bring ya back” Michael said matter of factly. Ashley wasn’t paying much attention however as she was being embraced by her loved one. Her and Sasuka stood their encumbered in their own little world.
“Ahh how sweet.” Aurora said.
“Yeah a regular couple of love birds” Lyle said sarcastically.
“So everyone made it out ok? Umm, where’s Jamie?” Ashely asked after her and Sasuka had finally unlocked themselves from one another.
“She’s in her room, unconscious, alive, but unconscious. Her body is fine, it’s just her brain has gone through a great amount of shock and abuse.” Sara said as she came out from the back room.
“Ohh” Ashley said as everyone turned their glances towards Alex.
“Alex, I know you probably don’t want to tell us, but we need to know what happened to you while you were gone” Sasuka said.
“I found out some things about my past, some things I really didn’t want to know. I went to Hell, and came out with a darkness burned deep inside of me. I’m not staying here with you guys, not until I can control that darkness” Alex stated as he looked towards the ground, downcast by what he was telling his friends.
“What, no way, your not leaving us again, right when we need you the most” Lyle yelled in rage.
“Oh yeah, would you rather me go out of control again, when you need me the most, and slaughter you guys instead of the enemy. That’s a risk I’m not willing to take. I couldn’t live with myself if I hurt one of my friends again.”
“Have you forgotten about are evil psycho clones out there bent on our destruction!” Michael argued.
“No, but I know now without a shadow of a doubt, you guys are strong enough to defeat them. As long as you guys work together as team, like you did today, no one can stand in your way.”
“Alex, please don’t go, what will we tell Jamie when she wakes up.” Aurora asked.
“What if Jamie never wakes up. I can’t live with myself, staying here knowing that she’s in that situation because of me!” Alex said the pain he kept hidden coming out momentarily before he regained his composure.
“But Alex...” Ashley was about to say when suddenly Alex cut in.
“Heh, you can’t change my mind goodbye, take care” was all he said when suddenly he disappeared.
“W-what happened? When did he learn that trick” Michael asked.
“Heh, it’s not that hard, all he did was momentarily use his light powers to obstruct our vision so he could use his powers to flee away from his problems. He’d rather run away, and keep his emotions bottled up then face them. I hate to say it, but the reason he can’t control his dark side is because of those feelings he keeps locked up.” Lyle said from the corner.
“Lyle how can you possibly know that?” Ryku asked.
“Because that’s what I had to do.” was all Lyle said, it was all he had to as everyone looked at the markings that were on his arm.
